I contacted Gold and Silver of Louisiana a few months ago about purchasing an engagement ring and they did not disappoint. The staff there is incredibly helpful and patient. They took the time to work with me and were able to help me find the perfect engagement ring at a very reasonable price. Your experience will depend on who’s behind the counter.About a month ago I was offered $874 for 38g of 10kt gold. Compared gold prices for the day, and it aligned. Great Business and very appreciative.August 21, 2021. I went in to ask how much90.3g of 14kt gold was worth, checked daily gold prices as I always do ($57.27 per gram pure) ($37.27 per gram 14kt) I was offered $1999.00.The explanation I got was, “sir” the price of gold changes daily. Daily price of gold today is listed above.Please educate yourself before you deal with this business or at least be educated in the fact that your gold value may be based on who’s behind the counter rather than it’s value on the gold market.- I think it’s a shame that this is a family business.- You should definitely should share the wealth so employees don’t have to operate in the capacity of a pawn shop when Gold & Silver of Louisiana is advertised as a place to conduct fair business.I guess the finality is, it’s what they were willing to offer.Gold prices quoted above came from various gold sites, and calculators which all calculated the same value for the gold offered and what cash to reasonably expect.$3400 shown - $1999 offered seems to be more like being taken advantage of because of ones lack of knowledge.I don’t advertise myself to be a gold expert,But I’m certain that if you calculate ( there are many sites that provide this service) and query the value of your 10kt, 14kt or whatever gold purity it may be and it’s worth. The only decisive difference from that number and the next, is what is willing to be offered by the buyer, not the value of your gold.

Went in to sell some estate jewelry. They were very kind and explained the whole process to me. I accepted their more than reasonable offer, and they cut me a check right then. Very friendly and personable.I plan on returning, to have some jewelry repaired. They’ve definitely won a lifelong customer!

I have been a customer here for several years. Never once have I felt cheated or talked down to by thse fine people. If I cant make it to them, Ill hold my valuables till I can get there. Five stars is not enough!!!

Went in with a set of earrings I just had appraised for $1870 per earring. I fully understand that appraisals are sky high and didnt expect to get the full amount. The lady tried to offer me $80 for them. Roughly 1/50 or 2% of the appraisal. Never going there again. I understand the house needs to always win in this case but this offer was down right insulting for certified real stone and real gold from a GIA certified appraiser.

I bought my wifes engagement band, wedding band, and my own wedding band from here. The jeweler is extremely knowledgeable and was helpful in every step about understanding jewelry and making a good decision regarding cuts and quality. I was able to choose exactly what I wanted and it was made custom to my specifications without any extra cost. The cost of buying from here was also considerably less than going to a traditional jeweler. I was able to get the same level of certified diamonds for a fraction of the cost. I would definitely recommend Gold & Silver of Louisiana for any jewelry needs.

This was by far the best service I have received while trying to sell gold. Ive sold pieces of jewelry at other gold shops and have not had nearly the same experience. I was treated with the utmost respect. Myra was very knowledgeable and was also great at explaining the process to me. I was selling a very special piece and after comparing offers at different locations, Gold & Silver of Louisiana offered me the highest price, much higher than the other shops I visited. The process was quick and efficient. I will be returning in the future.

I made a phone call to find out what their bid was for a 1oz gold coin expecting something slightly below the current spot price of Gold. They told me that they would give me the spot price, so I took my coins over. The office is located in a small corner strip mall, it is well marked, well lit, and very nice on the inside. The staff were calm and professional. They handled my coins quickly offered me good value for them and wrote a check on the spot. After I had finished my transaction I asked about some odd bits of precious metal that my Father wanted me to sell for him. Once again the transaction was handled in an exceptional manner. They offered me quite a decent price and again wrote another check. I like the way they were upfront about what the price was going to be.

I guess it depends on who you deal with. The first time I came in I dealt with an older gentleman that was maybe the owner? He was fantastic! I came in a week later and dealt with a middle aged gentleman that was nice however, I feel that I didnt get a fair price for what was brought in. I believe I was paid for just the silver (.925) things that I brought in and none of the other things were calculated into my final price. I asked for a reciept so I could later look at how many grams of what I was being paid for, only to find that the only information on it was a picture of my ID. I know I definitely got over on the second time around.

I cleaned out my jewelry box and googled for a place to sell some items. Ive never done this before and worried I would be bothering someone with items that would turn out to be costume jewelry. Gold and Silver had good reviews and was located in a safe area so I decided to give it a try. Tom was very nice and took his time to go through each item while checking for gold, silver, etc. He explained everything and checked it all right in front of me. I was very comfortable and glad I decided to try it. I some more items to go through and will definitely go back to Gold and Silver!

Their showroom is beautiful and their collection of jewelry and coins are not only stunning but also unique. During my last experience, I was interested in selling a diamond and they were able to help me through every step of the process. They suggested that my diamond first be GI certified and then they were able to acquire the best quotes/bids from potential buyers. WARNING!!! WARNING! DO NOT waste your time here. These people are crooks plain and simple. Came in with an graded AU 60 coin worth $300 and he offered me $18.. He claims to be a professional and knowledgeable coin dealer but offers such a low price. What does this tell me??? He knew the true value of the coin but he was hoping I didnt know what I had...... Plain and simple.... Hes a crook. When I called him out on it( I actually had the USA Coin book with me that showed the value at $300. ) His reply was Well.. Im here to make money ok! So by ripping me off giving me only 6% of its true value he is making a 94% profit. Now that is down right dirty and no one I would want to be business with. If you are selling silver numismatic coins know your facts or you will be taken to the cleaners... You have been warned.

Called the local gold buyers and this place gave me the best deal by far. They were quick to answer my questions and had great customer service. If you are buying or selling precious metals, coins, and etc. in Baton Rouge, this is the best place to go! I will definitely be a repeat customer; they earned my business.

After prayerfully searching around the New Orleans area for a trustworthy and knowledgeable coin dealer, my wife and I were fortunate enough to reach out to the Baton Rouge area and locate Thad. We had a considerable collection that needed expert evaluation and over a 6 month period of liquidation, we felt Thad was not only knowledgeable, but very fair and patient in working with us.He takes the necessary time and interest and we can highly recommend his services.

I went in to sell a few pieces of my grandmother’s jewelry that were dated and I knew I’d never wear. I called first to ask a few questions and spoke with Thom. He was very polite and answered all my questions thoroughly. When I went in, I was treated respectfully and with professionalism. I went to this location because I specifically did not want to deal with a pawn shop. He explained the gold prices and how they can fluctuate and even showed me the website with live pricing. I told him I should probably talk to my husband to make sure it was ok first, and he was very understanding. I decided after talking a few more minutes and asking a couple other questions to go ahead with the sale, and he asked me if I was sure I didn’t need to speak with my husband first. Most places would’ve just said ok and handed me a check. If I ever have any other scrap gold, coins or jewelry to sell this is where I’ll go!
