Our baseball organization hired Official Finders to get umpires for our games this past season. Out of the 16 home games we had on their schedule, they covered 5 of the games. The other 11 games we were left at the last minute to pull someone from the stands or re-schedule the game. They dont let you know they dont have anyone to cover your games, they simply just dont show up. In the post season I would add games to our schedule, and they would just cancel them. Very poorly run company and ethics considering these are kids they are letting down. EDIT - Im adding an edit after the response from the company. Im not with Big Rock. My contract was signed on March 29th. Games didnt start until May 18th. Please do some internal investigation within your company (I dealt with Dan all season). The purpose of this post is to inspire you to be better.

Tim is terrible to work for!! I personally know 3 umpires he owes literally thousands of dollars to! (Still owes me $50). You can even look it up that he has had 3 court cases in Dupage County because he hasn’t paid guys for games they worked! Imagine how many guys he has shorted or that didn’t bother taking him to court. If you are looking for an officiating service, don’t let it be with Official Finders, as he doesn’t treat his officials right. I respectfully told him that I would not be working games for him, but would still like to get paid the $50 I was owed for a game I worked, and he started cursing me out and calling me names! (Text message proof even!) Don’t become a client and allow him to treat his officials this way.

They dont know the rules and admit it, dont hustle, cut games short so they can do another game somewhere else. I will never use them.

I have been a victim of this place in baseball at least 20 times. They are not umpires, they are mercenaries, and they know who they work for. In my league this year, the home team was 0 for the league, and 7-2 and at home. The only difference is these guys. Every single game the umpire has done something outrageous for his team. A long fly ball to center fiend, the runner from second tags and easily gets to third base. The base umpire is frozen, like a hunting dog, staring at second base. When the manager asked him what happened, he said the runner took a couple steps So you dis not see him leave early. No, I dont have to see your team leave early The manager went to the home umpire. The league asks that you not yell at the umpires, but rather ask them to get together and get the call right. The umpire from the plate , said why would I do that for you? and laughed! I cant count how many times this service has sent dishonest people to umpire games. Frankly, it is amazing they can find that many people that are that dishonest. I have asked my league to not allow these umpires going forward. If you use them as umpires, you are as dishonest as they are. Good luck explaining to your kids and parents how every single call, in every conceivable way, always goes your teams way.A pitch over the other teams players head is not a strike, everyone on the field knows it. The players catch on, and they are uncomfortable with it, no one should put a youth player in that position. No one can justify using this company. Everyone knows who they send to the major games, and they are always grossly tilted to the home team. Most of the umpires I have experienced over the last 5 years have been honest, every game except those called by these guys, where there is absolutely no shame or integrity. An umpire ejects a player from the dugout, but he was not in the dugout....so he just tosses the kids entire family. The worst part is these guys dress like real umpires. You have no idea they are dishonest cheaters until it is too late. They should have to identify as not being umpires; but rather from this company, and they should be required to wear some sort of identification, certainly it is not fair that they dress like real umpires.I sincerely hope my league and every other league starts to use real umpires, and not the people this company provides.

As a coach I have used Official Finders to cover many games over multiple seasons. As an official, I have worked for TJ on and off for several years. He has always been responsive and resourceful. I have worked for and with all the different officials organizations out there, these guys are the BEST!

The people that write the one star reviews are people that dont follow policies that this company has. He treats people like adults, which they should act like instead of not following simple rules required to umpire (dress code, showing up to work, and being payed on pay day). He treats people like they should be treated and it pays well.

This company is absolutely terrible and TJ the owner is very unprofessional and puts people down very unprofessionally. They fire you in an unprofessional way by not even telling you that your fired. And when I try to communicate they dont. No respect for TJ as an owner and business man, who puts people down. Who does that as an owner or business person? Mike the director at least has respect to not put people down.
