One of the worst after sales customer service! On and during your car rental they answer phone calls timely. At the end of your rental, for billing problems, now nobody effingly answers your calls!! You get pointed to different phone numbers, you get different answers from cust. agents, and other Hertz counters on other states/ cities would not even help you. One of the worst car rental experiences.

Unfortunately there was not a car available for us even though we had booked 3 weeks prior. We waited 2 hours to get one. When the car came up from the garage we were surprised to have an upgrade in size. Even though it threw our schedule out we were thankful for their efforts to secure a car and the upgrade.

It was good experience,of course my wife reserved the vehicle a couple months prior so we had a car at a much better price than they are offering now. We had our choice between a Ford EcoSport and a Buick Encore, I chose the Buick, next time I will choose the Ford. The Encore had very small sideview and rearview mirrors with big blind spots. The front passenger seat was always in the way when checking for on coming traffic during left turn cross overs. It has a very small cargo area that would only accept our 1 check bag. Fortunately we we not traveling with a family so our 2 backpacks and 1 additional carry on suit case filled up the back seat. It wasnt all bad though, it stopped gas and you could park that little thing just about anywhere.Bottom line, we will choose Hertz car rentals in the future.

I have been trying to get in touch with the Hertz front desk but have not been able to. I need someone from the Hertz Bangor team to reach out to me about a reservation and no one has. I will change this rating if I can actually get in contact with someone in Maine!

YES, YES, YES, a thousand times YES! I love these folks, i get great service here, and they are always there to help when I need extra flexibility with my rentals. I rent about every week, and have tried them all...after a poor experience with that green company, I was thrilled to find these folks so helpful for a road weary travelers with too many miles under my belt. Highly recommend!

I didnt catch her name (I think she had glasses and brownish blonde hair) but I needed to drastically modify a reservation last minute back in mid-June, and the woman who helped me at the Bangor Hertz was so professional and helpful and knowledgeable and made what was a very anxious situation a little easier. We needed to make an entirely new reservation but everything worked out so well, and Id just like to say thank you! I should mention also that when I first picked up my car at Bangor, a different employee was also extremely helpful with tips and directions for being in such a remote area. She provided me with maps, etc and a charging port for my car just in case.

Bea at the Bangor Hertz rental office was great! So friendly, great customer service both with me and the other customers I saw her work with. Getting the car was easy and she walked me through all my options to find what was best for me.

I am not the one who rented from Hertz but my 18 year old daughter was involved in this situation. Her best friend’s parents arranged a trip to Florida as a High school graduation gift for these 5 girls who are all 18 and not familiar with traveling. They chose Hertz because they appeared to be accommodating would rent to an 18 year old driver. They prepaid for the car rental in advance and explained that the girls were traveling alone without the person who was paying for the car rental. They said that was perfectly fine. Everything was arranged so that when the girls arrived in Florida at almost midnight they could just pick up the keys. Before putting the girls on the flight they actually called Hertz to confirm and to also make sure that someone would be at Hertz counter when they arrived at almost midnight. They were nervous as this is the first trip these girls were taking without them. They were assured that everything was good and not to worry. So the girls arrived in Florida airport as planned. They went to the Hertz counter and a lady who obviously hated her job was rude to them and refused to give them the keys as the person who paid for the car was not present and not the one driving. So one of the girls was going to switch it onto her debit card and that was possibly going to work until they said that she didn’t have established credit. The woman told them sorry I can’t help you. This woman was perfectly ok with leaving these girls stranded at midnight in an airport. My daughters friend called her parents and the lady still was not going to budge. She was determined to try to ruin the vacation for these girls. She was not going to honor the reservation that had been approved and arranged. So they had to get an Uber to get these girls to the house an hour away. The Uber cost them $200 that night. They had to arrange Uber rides for everything the girls wanted to do during this vacation. They also had to pay another $200 to Uber the girls back to the airport this morning to come home. Now this is the part that really blows my mind. They are also refusing to refund them for the rental of the vehicle they did not get to use while in Florida. These girls got screwed out of a prom, project graduation and other senior memories because of COVID and then Hertz does this.

They will make you wait 20 plus buisness days for your money back This place is horrible. Ive waited since March 3rd to get my refund after they failed to tell me I need a credit card ( they took my debit card payment just fine online ) DO NOT RENT OR DO ANY BUISNESS WITH HERTZ

Quick service and decent car, though sxm radio sucked. Be wary of purchasing the full tank of gas ahead of time...you may not use a whole tank and there will be no refunds of unused gas. In Bangor it was 2.40 a gallon and gas outside the airport was just as cheap.

They left me stranded with no car. Because lic had jr on it. Didnt match credit card. Told me to call automated answering service. Bad service not good. Called budget car rentals. Good services rentals are same price

I would like to not even give it a star! I had an insurance clam put in on 9/30/2017. They reserved me a car. When I went to pick it up on 10/01/2017 They told me they didnt have any cars and I could check back tomorrow. I asked them to call me so I wouldnt have to waste a trip. They them told me again I could check back tomorrow. I got the rental on 10/02/2017. Later returned it on 10/04/2017. The man at the desk didnt know to to return a insurance clam car and made a phone call. When he go off the phone he told me all I needed to do was give an email address for the receipt. I have yet to receive a receipt and when I tried to confirm that it has been returned on 10/08/2017 I was told the office wasnt open and they couldnt even tell me if it was returned. I would of course have to check back tomorrow. When I went in today 10/09/2017 I was told the office closed at 3 and once again I would have to check back tomorrow. I still do not know if I am paying for a car I returned almost a week ago. I am furious with the support at this location and will not be returning here ever again!!!

Reserved car online. Simple easy process. Confirm options, put in debit card number, check the box saying were not flying, get a confirmation of our reservation. Show up at the kiosk at the airport the next day and get told that we unequivocally CANNOT RENT A CAR WITHOUT A CREDIT CARD unless we have return flight information. At no point during the reservation process was it indicated that a credit card was required and naturally Im not flying since I live in the city. I have never had a credit card in my life, they lacked the capacity to run my VISA-backed debit card as credit, they dont take checks or cold hard cash, and they wouldnt even let me pay up front. Less than a year ago I did rent a car from Hertz with a debit card but apparently they and all the rentals in the airport have changed their policy so Enterprise will be getting all future business from me since they were willing to take my money without fuss.

Hidden fees! Charged me extra for allowing my partner to drive. Tried adding her on day by day basis but they require that having a secondary driver on record must be consecutive. This wouldve easily added $100+ extra into the rental

The lady at this location tricked me into getting the basic coverage. I went to a couple other rental places at the bangor, maine airport and they did not have any rentals because of the busy summer. So I ended up at hertz, and the girl knew I was in need for the car. She quoted me the price and said and this includes the basic coverage. I said no, i dont want any coverage. how much is it without the coverage? She quoted me a price that was HIGHER. So I said that doesnt make sense, so I guess we have to go with the first price you gave meShe got me at a moment when I was desperate because I needed a car to get home to a sick family member. That family member passed away 4 days later. When I took out the paper work to call and extend my rental I realized I was being charged the rate for the car, PLUS 3 different charges for coverage. The 800 customer service number I called said they couldnt do anything I had to drive back to the location and speak with Bangor direct. Of course that wasnt an option at the time.When I was able to return home and drop off the rental car.... get this... it was TWO THOUSAND, yes $2,000 in coverage charges. MORE THAN THE CAR RENTAL!!!!Im still loosing sleep over this, and it has affected me so many ways.DO NOT LET THEM TRICK YOU INTO SAYING this includes coverage Yes, it does, the price they are quoting, but make sure you say NO COVERAGE, and sign to decline.unless you want coverage of course...This place is heartless and its just greedy and wrong in so many ways.

They absolutely worst Hertz location in the country. The first car they gave me was wrecked with bad brakes. After returning, 2 younger people playing on cell phones with an attitude. Hertz gold member that rents a lot cars...Never again.

Horrible, non-existent customer service. If I could give zero stars, I would. Rude, no effort to help and refused to give refund when they couldnt honor our rental contract (your card will be credited in due course) ... Avoid Hertz like the plague!
