HomePay (the company) has been great from the start. Today, I had to close my account due to my wife passing away and Ana Rizzo (customer service) was fantastic. She answered all of my questions and was so empathic and kind. Another great experience dealing with the people at HomePay.

Their customer service representatives are always the most helpful and have been able to answer any of the questions I ask. The amount of work to try to do everything on our own is massive - I definitely do not have the time and its so reassuring to know that you can trust them to get on and answer any questions that come up.

I have had an amazing experience using HomePay and their support team. If I have a question or issue, they are able to assist me and give me all of the information I need. This website did NOT help me at all. I wasn’t a able to find a sitter so I decided to cancel the membership, I wasn’t able to find how to do that in the website because of course it’s hidden; so I emailed them twice and no response and today I get charged almost $40, for so thing that is no use and that I tried to cancel. I am very upset! I wouldn’t recommend this website. Call and get all the information first.

I stumbled upon HomePay by doing a google search and initially was skeptical about what exactly I would be getting for a service. I read over the entire website, checked out the FAQ area, as well the fees I might have to pay to use the services. Overall everything seemed to be exactly what I needed to do simple payroll for our caregiver. I do not think I can truly put into words how great my experience has been so far. I have only been using HomePay since late July but it has been so easy to use from setting up to doing the first time sheet. Every time I called I was greeted with professionalism, courtesy, and knowledge, even when I repeated my question for the third time (just worded another way). Each person I spoke with was pleasant and super helpful, I never left the conversation feeling that I wasnt given the right answer or that I needed to call back again. HomePay takes a lot of the guess work out of payroll- they let you know the tax responsibilities you will have, when they are due, reminders of when the taxes will be collected. I really appreciate the services provided by HomePay and look forward to continuing to work with them as a payroll service.

HomePay allowed my former employer to do a direct deposit reversal for over a thousand dollars THREE WEEKS after my employment ended with them. When contacted, HomePay said there was “nothing they could do” to help me with the fraudulent activity and to take it up with my former employer directly - the same unethical person that called them in the first place. Not only is it ILLEGAL to do a direct deposit reversal after 5 days, but it is also very concerning that they would allow someone access to my account after employment has ended.In addition to the money being STOLEN from my account, HomePay also allowed my former employer to switch from direct deposit to manual check whenever they felt like dodging pay and never notified me in advanced or asked if I was willing to accept a manual check (we had a contract through Care.com that I would receive direct deposits only). Also, despite what is being reported on their website, I did NOT receive two of the paychecks listed. I am highly concerned about the tax information being incorrect and the lack of protection regarding my financial information.I will NEVER use HomePay again and highly discourage anyone else from Care.com to allow payments to be received through them.

Beware of the extra fees they charge! They charge extra fees to make any changes to the payroll and thats after youve sat on hold for a long period of time to make the change. I ought to charge them for my time while I have to wait!

Im so glad I found HomePay after using another payroll company. HomePays focus on household employees is such a benefit. They make it easy to make sure your employees are receiving their correct pay and benefits, and are very responsive to questions or concerns.

I really thought about whether to use this service because its rather pricey, but I have to say that it has been so worth it. This is more than a payroll service - its an HR department that you can tap in to whenever you have a question or concern. They have been so helpful to me during COVID, helping me to navigate all the new laws and make sure I was acting in the best interest of my family and nanny. Worth every penny for the peace of mind of knowing that you have a team of people giving you helpful and timely info and supporting you during this crazy time.

Just do it off the books unless its going to be a long term arrangement and youre wealthy. For most people, doing it the right way seems to be a poor value.Homepay is friendly and customer service is good yes BUT the brass tax is...The fees for Homepay + the state and federal taxes were $1531 for just September-December of 2020 alone. We could have used this money or given it to our nanny.The max childcare tax credit we can qualify for is $1200 for an entire year (20% of $6000 for 2 children). Show me the childcare that costs $6000 for 2 kids. At $11/hr plus fees and taxes it would be $14,700 + $4593 per year for us. Most childcare will want a lot more than $11/hr.Our nanny worked for $11/hr and only received $8-9/hr because of her taxes in addition to ours, and worked 30-40 hours a week since September.Our nanny filed for unemployment this spring for the week she had to stay at home with confirmed COVID and was rejected. Now she wants to just be off the books and take her $11/hr.Dont ever count on someone to give you something. When it comes time to collect, theres always an excuse. Its not really HomePays fault that this is a poor value. We shouldnt have tried to do things the right way. Off the books it is.

This was easier than I had expected to get set up. I had several questions that were answered fully. The customer service was exceptional - very friendly and knowledgeable!

We used HomePay for our nanny taxes. The good reviews sold me on paying them to help ease the stress of taxes, but we ended up paying them and the state A LOT of money for extra stress. HomePay was not clear on our options and ended up costing us a lot of money we had not set aside. They also charged us to amend documents that I believe they should have covered because they made an error with the numbers. I would not recommend HomePay and we will not use their services in the future.

I have had a true 5 star experience with HomePay. My accountant suggested using Home pay for payment and taxes for my housecleaner, and both she and I have been pleased with their service. She gets paid on time by direct deposit. After setup, most things have been automatic for me. We have had to deal with a few changes over time - a raise, a couple of other issues - and whenever I have felt unsure about how to do anything the HomePay consultants have been available by phone. Ive never been on hold longer than 5 minutes. HomePay makes compliance with the law easy.

HomePay has unreal customer service for this day and age. They immediately answer emails. When you call them, there is NO automated system, a person answers - A REAL PERSON! I have used HomePay (formerly Breedlove) for over a decade and they have been just excellent. They offer a very convenient way to pay our nanny/sitters over the years with flexible hours each week: its possible to reimburse for miles driven, taxes are automatically withheld and calculated, direct deposit can be weekly and super easy tax preparation forms at the year end. All in all, this company has been extremely easy to use and affordable.

Great customer service, ability for your tax preparer to get your documents directly from the site and file electronically at the end of the year, easy to make changes to payroll yourself, good consumer education.A big plus is that they have a National background check available for when you hire a new employee or independent contractor so you can always be assured whoever is working in your house is safe to be around your family. Though this service is not free, it is not a scam like the ones you often find available on internet sites and is available to the small household employers.

I helped a friend set up an account with HomePay to pay wages to people who helped her in her home. My friend has a severe physical disability and can only communicate by means of an eye-gaze communication system, yet she is cognitively very sharp and capable. She recruits and trains the people who assist her but wanted an agency to handle wages, withholding, tax deposits & reports, etc. I was the one reporting payroll hours for her, and I frequently called HomePay with questions. She had a total of 13 employees in the first five months!HomePay was absolutely perfect for her. They treated her and her Authorized Contacts (including me) with unfailing courtesy and respect. Whenever I called HomePay with a question or problem, each and every customer service rep I talked with was able to answer my questions and explain what had to be done. They were very knowledgable about both state and federal laws, including overtime and procedures if you have to fire someone. If a follow-up call was needed, it didnt matter if you got the same person or not -- they could bring up her file and pick up where the last rep had left off. No question was too silly or too complicated. I always came away from a phone call with far greater clarity about whatever the issue was.My one criticism is that the computer-generated emails (such as reminding you to report hours or letting you know a new employee has completed enrollment) often had details that were confusing or difficult to read. They were so boilerplate that I wanted to ignore them -- I had to force myself to read them carefully, to find what small part applied to me. But this minor nuisance was greatly outweighed by the very high quality support from their customer service reps.I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending HomePay as a payroll service for domestic employers.
