After booking this hotel almost a MONTH in advance for a King Suite with a View for $275 for ONE night I was incredibly disappointed. When I arrived at check-in they put me in a double Queen room with absolutely no view. I went back to the front desk and let them know this was NOT the room I paid for. They apologized and said the ONLY room they had available was a King handicap room. So I said that’s fine, only to realize this also DID NOT HAVE A VIEW. At the end of the day I did NOT get what I paid for and they’re refusing to give me back some of my money seeing as I didn’t even receive the room I paid almost $300 for. At check-out the front desk staff even AGREED THAT THE ROOM I WAS IN WAS NOT THE ROOM I BOOKED. The only answer they had was, “Grab some snacks from our retail shop, sorry”. Also the guests at this hotel were extremely judgmental as well. The only good thing was the bar tender knew how to make drinks. That’s it. I’ll NEVER EVER stay at this hotel again as they can’t even seem to stick to their own policy and give you the room you paid for. I wasted my money.

Positive: Receptionist was amazing and offered us a room with 2 queen beds instead of our earlier room with one King bed at no extra charge when we asked for an extra pull out bed. The hotels Atrium is spectacular and the rooms are very spacious, well furnished Negative: The only thing that was missing in the rooms were the USB ports to charge the phones. They are equipped with 3-point plug-ins only.

We had to go to another hotel the next day after we had payed and reserved a room with 2 beds! (all tired and sleepy from our 11 drive trip all we wanted was to shower and sleep) So when we finally arrive to the room theres only one bed! 😠 I mean I even had a screenshot of what I had payed for and so I went to show the lady my proof and she only said it says here (the computer)you only payed for a room with one bed. I mean its probably not her fault but at least try to communicate with someone else to make sure your client is happy. Im not even on the mood to ask for a manager, so we went back to the room and early in the morning we had to find somewhere else to stay at and are obviously not staying at this hotel anymore next time we visit Austin

Great hotel! Friendly staff, easy access to lots of food and drink options. Very woodsy and tucked away from the city. There was a pretty spectacular wedding the night we stayed with a full band procession. That, plus live music at the bar, and it was a pretty entertaining stay. They have several car chargers, more than most hotels (although all but one are Tesla, they should add more regular chargers that everyone can use), so the free charge overnight was appreciated. One tip, there are zero USB outlets in the rooms, so be sure to bring a plug adapter.

If I could give a zero star review I would do it. This hotel was absolutely terrible. There was a live band playing in the lobby restaurant and it was ridiculously loud. When I complained, the front desk told me that you could hear the music in every single room of the hotel. They offered to move our room but I paid for a king bed and they offered twin queen beds. No other offer of any kind of compensation. The front desk showed zero concern. DO NOT STAY HERE unless you want loud music until well into the night. They do not care about their guests. Horrible disappointment. If I had wanted to stay on 6th St. Id have done it. If you want a nice peaceful room, AVOID THE RENAISSANCE.

Positive: I booked 4 rooms and each was clean. However, there is a difference between the rooms on the 3rd floor versus the 3 rooms I had on the upper floors (6th & 8th). I preferred the rooms and better bathrooms on the upper floors along w/ the silence. Negative: I had booked these rooms for my wedding. The hotel itself was great. I would warn anyone who is checking out early to speak to a manager. I called downstairs and spoke with the front desk and asked if I checked out a day early, if I would be charged the last day. I was told no and given my receipt for 3 days. The next day I received a bill via email for the 4 days and have been trying for 3 weeks to get someone to at least respond to my emails. I am unable to speak to a real person. this type of service is unacceptable!

This hotel is geared toward big conventions but its also good for families. The kids loved the huge atrium of the main hotel. The outdoor pool is just right (4ft max). The rooms have been refreshed. Its close (walkable) to food and Amy’s ice cream. Areas that can be improved; the check-in / check-out was slow. Better training can probably fix this. The carpet floors in our room were very dirty; my 15 month old still crawls and her knees were visibly black from crawling on the floor. A carpet deep clean (once / year perhaps) should fix this.

There’s a few things I didn’t like about my stay and there are a few that I did. Starting with the things I didn’t like: 1.) I did not like the hidden fee I had to pay upon arriving. I wasn’t aware I had to pay an extra $100 on top of the $400 something I paid ahead of time. 2.) The parking lot in front of the hotel was really tight. You would literally be bumping into other people’s cars. They do offer parking off to the side of the hotel which is much better parking areas to be. 3.) The room to me aren’t modernized. Very old school. There weren’t any trash bags in the room. No microwave, nor USB ports. The remote to the tv would hardly work. You’d have to push down on the buttons to get it to work. There was some banging and booming noises when it was time to go to bed. I’d give the room a 3 out of 10. 4.) The hotel had a restaurant in it. You seat yourself but it took the servers forever to even notice you or just approach you to get your order. I only ate there once due to the wait. Things I did like: 1.) the meal I did get at the restaurant was really good. I had the meal with the salmon. 2.) hotel staff was really nice. 3.) I enjoyed the fact that they had an indoor and outdoor pool with a hot tub. 4.) check out was easy.

This hotel is so consistently inconsistent that it is hard to rate. A few times I’ve stayed here and it’s been so amazing I’d have paid double, other times it’s been so bad I thought I’d never return. One thing to note, they seem to ignore the Marriott reservation system - by that I mean they had our reservation but didn’t note that we were Bonvoy members and had no record of the requests we made in our reservation (if you’re a Bonvoy member most Marriott locations will try to honor your requests or at least acknowledge they exist, but not this one). Also, this is the second time I’ve stayed here when their internet was down, not a huge deal for me and maybe it’s a rare occurrence but something to watch out for if you absolutely need internet while you’re here

The most frustrating hotel stays of my life! When I checked in they said pool and fitness area were unavailable and that they don’t do daily room cleaning... see other reviewers for the dirtiness... should have smelled a rat then. Took 30 minutes to check in because one Karen had a million questions, then in long lines for elevator, another Karen first kicked my dog and then tried to steal my elevator spot. After all that, tried to order room service and guy told me to call restaurant in hotel and order to go. Tried that but number for restaurant goes to hotel front desk and they initially put me on hold for 7 minutes at 10:15PM. Trying to get something to eat before restaurant closes so hung up and called number again twice, finally to reach another person at hotel front desk that said I couldn’t order to go from restaurant. Running down there now to order in person... maybe, hungry and frustrated... what new twists and obstacles await!!! After 12 hours of driving, definitely don’t go here—will feel like 100000 hours of driving a lifetime of hell.

Upon arriving we got in line to check in, we waited in line for 30 minutes there was only 2 employees checking guest in. Several employees walked trough noticing the line was and had been growing. While waiting there was more than 2 guest that decided they were extra special and formed their own line and proceeded ahead of me and others waiting patiently. We was scheduled to check in Monday and Check out Friday at 11 am. Once we finally got our keys to our room it wasnt brought to our attention that should we need housekeeping during the 4 days we would be there that we would need to request it. There was no one to help with bags, next was the wait to get on 1 out of the 5 elevators they had surving 9 floors. Once you was lucky enough to get on elevator there wasnt anyone montioring how many would get on and the overwhelming feeling that the last 4 people who got on should really have waited cause it was way over the capacity. We get to our room, I was extremly disappointed. Theres no microwave, the beds where very hards, theres limited outlits, and the wifi is $15 a day. The amenities shows the bathroom to have robes there wasnt. Several times while staying the week I found myself having to take the stairs from the 5th floor down due to the elevators being down. With guest trapped in them. The fire department having to come out and get the guest down. I was ready to go at that point. Its not a good feeling witnissing the elevators going out while guest in them. The bar was about the only plus I found. The staff at the bar was excellent. Theres no snack machines, or vending machines, they have a store inside with very limited items. Right behind the hotel is a highway with miles and miles of homeless people living under the bridges in tents. The homeless come up during the day and lounge on patio. I will not return to a renaissance it was my first and last time.

Did not have a great experience. Firstly, the amount of toiletries provided were not sufficient to 4 people. They had provided 1 soap, 1 small shampoo for 4 days of stay for 4 people. After reminding them and asking for almost 1 and half days, we finally got the toiletries. Second, I understand their no room cleaning policy due to covid, however, no one came to even pick up the trash for 4 days. We reminded them 3-4 times however everytime they said they will be sending someone which they never did.Still, the hotel was well maintained on exterior terms and restaurant inside it had nice breakfast!
