We hired Grass Works to install a new sprinkler system after our was demod during our pool build. We thought we were paying for an entire new system, I walked the initial estimator around our entire property, front and backyard, showing him all of the areas we wanted covered.We signed the paperwork, the technicians come out for install, i walk them around the entire property again, then they go an install only the backyard and inform me that the front yard wasnt part of the estimate and would be an additional expense.Then 2 months later, we discover a large leak. Apparently instead of installing a brand new system, they tied into the old broken system, and now are saying they will have to charge us an additional fee to fix the line they tied into. Absolutely do not recommend and would leave zero stars if possible.

I hired Grass Works for initial clean up of my lawn ($135 per hour). My hedges were left uneven, only the front of them were trimmed and the front of the bed was raked of leaves. The back of the hedges were not cut back from the window, leaves were not raked behind the hedges, leaves not removed underneath corner hedge and lots of grass clippings and sticks left in yard. This is not what I expected from a 4-man professional crew who does this type of work on a daily basis. I emailed the owner to request that they complete the job. I was not impressed with this company at all.

First off, they were not going to be able to schedule our service until 2 weeks from now and we are getting realtor photography for our home sale next week. When I called to cancel the service, they went out of their way to get us scheduled for today!!! We had a small communication glitch in the service requested, but they came back and added it on at no charge. The crew did WAY more than we had expected and made our back yard look so fantastic and Sell Ready! Money WELL spent!!! Looks so good, we almost dont want to sell now! ;)

The visit to our yard was well organized and generally professional in its execution. The weeds in the flower beds were cleared, the lawn mowed and the edging job was excellent. We were were satisfied with the clipping of the hedges. They were shaped and trimmed well. However, I was unable to give the job a perfect score. We specifically asked for the removal of a poison ivy infestation and this was not done to our satisfaction. The poison vines were pulled and generally cleared but my husband was again burned when he went out to inspect the work after it was finished. This one fact was a major disappointment.

The gardners are good at mowing, hedging and blowing the loose lawn. However, I had pulled a few large weeds and forgot to place them on the curb. The gardeners just mowed around them they didnt bother to toss them on the curb or anything so strange.

Amazing service and responsiveness by email and phone. Love that they use DocuSign for efficiency too. Of the 4-5 lawn service companies they were one of the few that even returned my calls and emails. Have just had our first service and we are already adding more services from them. Highly recommend!

The irrigation pipe was cut accidently while digging a hole. I had contract with this company to mow my yard bi-monthly, I reached out for an estimate on repairing a cut pipe. They send me DocuSign for an open order to repair the irrigation pipe with a minimum $90 per hour labor work excluding the parts. The technician spend literally no more then 30 minutes on making the cut bigger and adding a PVC pipe with liquid glue. He didnt had to find the leak or dig a hole, this was already done for him. He ran a test on that sprinkler area. I asked for a quote to fix/repair any issues with my sprinkler system. This company charged me $292.28 for this work. After multiple emails demanding an explanation on the charges of the parts they replied with The cost of parts is based on current market conditions for supplies needed to perform the job, we use only commercial grade parts when we do repairs on the system coming from irrigation suppliers and not local hardware stores. Basically, this company charges for a 5 pipe and some liquid glue $202.28...This company is fraudulent, I will be submitting a claim to the BBB and please be careful if you hire them, they are not trustworthy.I wish I could give them a ZERO star.

I have only had one visit, but so far so good. Would like it maybe a little shorter since I am bi-weekly, but the workers were nice, and I have no complaints. Hopefully it will keep up.

This team will rip you off. They quote you and send you DocuSigns without any details hoping you wont check. I had them quote out 2 properties two different times. The first time the estimates came back extremely high for the initial cleanup. They tried to obscure it by giving it to me in multiple estimates.When I asked them for details as to what would be done they were vague and didnt provide any. This didnt give me a good sense they were being honestSo I had another team come out and do MORE work including cutting down trees and other things they had not included for 1200 This was a standard landscaping company...so the prices was almost a thirdTHEN. I had them come back out hoping to get the regular service and they gave me a HIGHER quote.How can this be? The only way is they really are just thumbing the wind in the quote and seeing how much money they can get out of you to start their service. There is no rhyme or reason to their quoting. DO NOT TRUST them

I set up an appointment for Grass Works Lawn Care to come out to my property for sod/install quote. I gave them my address and they agreed to come out during the morning-time. They even sent me an email reminding me of my morning appointment. Well I ended up waiting until 2pm before calling to see where they were at. Apparently Grass Works Lawn Care services Liberty Hill, but not the Liberty Hill that my subdivision is in. What???I would have understood if: 1) They told me upfront that they don’t service all of Liberty Hill. 2) They would have typed my address into a GPS app before scheduling my appointment—especially if they know they don’t service all of Liberty Hill. Hello??? 3) They would have had the courtesy to call me to let me know that no one would be coming to give me a quote.Complete waste of my time.

This was a pretty terrible experience and value that I do not recommend to others. We had asked for them to come out and complete 4 basic tasks: collect leaves, trim 1 single bush, mow/edge a small yard (I complete this on my own in 90 minutes), and remove tree branches downed by the winter storm.Upon arrival the team did not communicate with us at all, they didnt ask for anything they needed to add or subtract from the order or say how long they would be there (fine in theory except then they added things to the work order). The team came out and started by trimming a tree that was not on our list to complete. When we called the office to get an answer for why they were doing this it took 3 hours to get a response. We were then told the foreman said he was told by someone on site to add tree trimming to the to-do list. This was a blatant lie and the company should be ashamed for even suggesting that when its so easily disproven.Thankfully when we finally got through to someone in the office they at least managed to remove the cost of them trimming our tree.Ultimately they still took 2.5 hours for a three man crew (billed at $175/hour) to mow/edge the yard, remove leaves, and trim 1 single bush. They didnt even remove the branches that were on the ground. The $500 bill for work others have charged 1/3 as much for is bad enough, but lying to my face and failing to complete the work is what really puts this company in an F-tier.

The guys from Grassworks went above and beyond to get my sod installation done right. They person who bid the job underestimated the amount of work required to make my yard look good and the initial result was unsatisfactory. The foreman called his boss and they worked several more hours to make sure I was satisfied with their work. Best of all, they did not charge me for the additional time, so I gave the crew a generous tip. Several days later, a friend said he needed help with a landscape project and I confidently recommended Grassworks.

Communication is superb, and the service is second to none! Grass Works turned our garden into the most beautiful garden we could ever have in our lives.They were quick to get back to me which is very important because I am managing tons of other things daily!

Do not use this company! We used to work with them and they would come and clean up our yard (which is mostly a parking lot) for $150 per hour. And they charged us $150 because its a small yard and they didnt need more than that one hour. The next time all of a sudden we got an invoice for $500 and when we asked for an explanation they said that this time they had to spend more time (which is not true, the yard was waaaay cleaner than the previous time), and they sprayed the yard and then they also said they raised their pricing. When we tried to explain how the proposal and the invoice were very confusing etc they just responded with an email that sounded like Its what it is.EDITED: After I posted this review they resent me an estimate that was approved by my husband and it says TOTAL: $150 but the final invoice was $470 lol

If you use this company you had better check your bank account regularly because they will charge you without rendering any service whatsoever, customer service is severely lacking

I called and asked that they come take all these leaves away before the weekend, then they did that for less than $300 on a quarter acre after I blew my roof off (which hadnt happened in eight months). Perfect! Wifes happy, Im happy, yards happy.

Fundamentally dishonest approach to business. Seems like a pattern for the people in charge to try to find an angle to take more from customers and deliver less than promised all while trying to talk you into thinking its your own fault for not listening properly or not reading their documents carefully enough.

I got hired, worked one day an wont recommend them for clients use or employee ms.First disappointment was to not have a team leader discuss what the job was an what it required with specific directions.Secondly we didnt have the proper equipment we needed for this specific job. We had to hand dig the entire yard which later finding out the equipment we needed was late being delivered so We were all giving the options to grab one or two tools, a hard rake, or shovel.... to dig out well planted sod that had a mixture of tree roots an weeds attached , which they also supplied NO gloves to operate a shovel. Back breaking work to say the least. Surely I was Expecting this company with previous reviews as so also mentioning the revenue they make yearly would be able to provide better equipment!Okay so I keep the faith an continue working with my head thoughts positive. I attempted to communicate with the leads about water, equipment needed, bathroom breaks,.. well the leader was very short with me an basically said we had all we needed an that lunch break the team lead of ea group drives to a store, where a rest room could be used an water, snacks could be bought. Lunch came, anxiously but excited to jump into the truck knowing to be a bathroom in mins. Arriving at the store only to learn both men and women restrooms were closed. I asked the cashiers an they confirmed an wouldnt make an exception I then went back to the truck and waited for team leader to come back. I explained the restrooms were closed an I had to use the girls room badly. He laughed an proceeded to take us back to the site 12miles back. Sad and very disappointed I called the guy whom hired me that to my knowledge is the manager of this operation an he said what do you want me to do? We contacted the company first thing in the morning and had a technician here by lunch time. While I am extremely grateful for their punctuality and work they performed, I was disappointed by their lack of communication with pricing and repairs. I did not find out the cost of my repair until the following day after they had already processed the payment. When I inquired about the bill and why I wasnt informed of the price of the repair beforehand, I was told anything under 2 hours did not need a consent. I would refer them in the future but would advise to read all of their documents very carefully and request to have the repairs approved before the work is done.

Unless there is weather delay, they show up on time and complete the job as expected every time.

Same day service, and good results.

I have used Grass Works for my lawn and yard maintenance for the last four years at my home here in Cedar Park. The company and their crew of hard workers serving my home are just outstanding. In four years, the crew has never missed my weekly and wintertime bi-weekly service. My yard, flower beds and other landscaping always look great, such that I constantly receive compliments from neighbors. The Grass Works crew always takes the time to perform quality, detailed work. They have never just showed up and quickly gone through the motions of my yard maintenance. In a final note , in four years of service to me, Grass Works has not increased the original monthly cost for my lawn maintenance service. That in my book is outstanding and very much appreciated. I most highly recommend Grass Works if you may be looking for quality, economical and an all inclusive lawn and landscape maintenance service !!!

I signed up for pre and post treatment which I thought was over 2 applications. The quote was at $300 plus tax. Waited for guys to show. Called office they said they would be there about 1030-1130. Then called again at 1215. They said they would be there in about 20 min. I waited for so long since I was wondering what $150 would get me. Well they applied fertilizer and weed control. Took about 30 min. Then I find out that that was both treatments. So basically 30 min of work for $300 plus tax. I guess I will pay myself $300 when I do this myself next time. I already have the materials.

$2250 for dirt ($450) and flowering plants (20 x $90). All but 5 plants looked like rejects, broken limbs, dead limbs, never trimmed as they were growing, one had no leaves for 3 weeks (picture shown, just now sprouting some leaves,). They had insisted we pay for a landscape designer ($600), who did not know the pricing, so the design came WAY over our budget. Ferris said ok, just do these plants, said they were all flowering at the shop. Almost half were barely alive, not like the promo email for landscaping they just sent us today, what a slap in the face. We will never use them again. Ferris sure likes our money, but basically just says take a hike to any complaints or concerns. Most of these 5 star ratings must be paid.

After our very first service, I can already tell how pleased we’re going to be with Grass Works. They did great work and our new lawn is already looking amazing!

We tried them once and only paid for basic service and that turned out to be quite basic. They were here for less than twenty minutes, left a lot of debris and told us wed need to pay extra for that. (to be very fair, we have large pecan trees that throw out a lot of debris in the back) We checked the security vids and saw the guy walk right over small pieces of bark, while blow everything else into the grass from the patio. Clippings and debris were left on the grass. They refused to pick up bark and twigs without going to another price level. On the other hand, the management was cordial and good with communications. They were clear on their pricing. I was a little put off by them using Docusign for almost every transaction. Perhaps thats a thing?

Just moved into a new home that had not had lawn service in at least two months . The team did a great job mowing and edging and manicuring all shrubs and tree clean up . They also weeded and re-layed all the rocks . We would definitely use them again ! They were courteous, on time , and cleaned up all debris ..

This company does not communicate properly with clients. After many written and verbal messages my instructions were not carried out in anyway or fashion. Being a business owner myself we put communicating with clients our top priority. Grass Works fails miserably at this.

Great office staff, great owner and great crews. Grass Works has been mowing, edging and cleaning up my yard for a little over 10 years. They do great, timely work, and are very good about taking care to meet my preferences. The few times in all these years that something needed correcting, the office had the crew back out within a day.

I used this company for total lawn care and bought a very expensive Yucca plant and had it for two months when one week while trimming, they deciding to cut all 5 fully grown stalks off and said that it was a part of their trimming protocol.Unfortunately I did not agree with this and tried to get them to replace the plant and they would not. They said that when all of the seeds drop, they completely remove all the stalks. Well, I have images of the act being done and the stalks that was caught on my ring where it showed that there was still seeds on them and even showed it to the company in an email. They still refused to do anything about this and said that moving forward I could just request to not have them trim the plant. Ridiculous. For one, who knows how long or when the stalks will grow back and become fully developed. They are known for taking years to growI’m very disappointed and would not recommend this company since they were willing to just lose a customer who was paying their highest service available rather than make things right

We have used the services of Grass Works for several years. They are very responsible, always there or letting us know if there is a change. Their crews are very polite, hard working and do a great job of trimming, and cleanup. We are very happy with them and their fees are appropriate...good job!

The guys arrived around 4pm but fully completed the job before sundown. The foreman made sure he got my feedback at the beginning and end of the job which I really appreciated. In the beginning my grass was terrible and after Grass work started taking care of it is thick and luscious and I love it. I also love the fact that I do not have to worry about fertilizing my grass. They come monthly. I recommend!!!

Intially the services were very nice, we were quite impressed, as time passed we see a lot of weeds in the garden and also in the flower beds. we have full maintenance plan. they suppose to trim the brushes and other flowering beds atleast once a month, they dont do it. we are very disappointed now.

At first we were pleased with Grass Works, gave recommendations for their services, and hired them to trim trees and shrubs in addition to the bi-weekly lawn mowing. But last Wednesday a crew came around 7 p.m. and did a really sloppy job with some areas totally missed. Informed their office the next morning. We were gone when our cameras recorded a crew arriving that afternoon. It captured them scalping the yard and repeated clouds of dirt. They used a riding mower instead of the smaller ones they had to unload from the trailer to get to the big one. When they left, we had skid marks in the grass at the curb as that area has a steep incline. The walkers had their blowers on turbo, and left lava rocks scattered 10 ft into the grass from each flowerbed. The patio furnishings and rugs were blown in total disarray, and pet bowls blown 25 ft against the fence. One bowl was destroyed by either the mower or weed eater. But the really vindictive action was total mutilation of 2 beautiful blooming amaryllis. One was chopped in multiple cuts (bloom never found) and the other growing 15 feet away was trampled at its base and broken. These flowers were huge with 4 red blossoms each, and growing in a flowerbed protected by a concrete edge. After voice and text messages for a manager to come see what their crew had done, a quality appointment was made for 8:00 a.m. Monday. No one ever came, even after we called the office at 9:00, 10:00, and finally at 11:00. Two different staff confirmed the appointment and said they would check with the person assigned and give us a call right back...no call or communication from Grass Works ever. A morning wasted for us to add to our 5 days of frustration. Were DONE.

My bid was for a three man crew and only two showed up to do the job - have not seen my bill to see what discount adjustments will be made to the hourly rate that was quoted.

I worked with Grass Works Lawn Care to fix one of our sprinkler heads. The positives: quick to respond to email, the contractor that I met that came to the house was very friendlyThe negatives: the company would automatically schedule appointments without talking to me first. My boyfriend and I both work full time, so we need to schedule ahead if expected to be there for the appointment. The first time, the problem was not fixed. There was no follow-up or summary of work completed. We asked specifically for an estimate for a foundation watering system, and this was the only reason we opted for the more expensive $75 option for a full sprinkler system audit, and it was not provided. The sprinkler was fixed after the second appointment, but no one ever told me that the contractors actually came to our house, no report on what they fixed, all of this without confirming that the appointment time would work for us. They collect your credit card information up front, and charge the bill before ensuring that the work was completed in a satisfactory way. It was a very strange experience.

I reached out to Grass Works to handle an overgrown lawn, and within just a few minutes, they reached out to me with a quote. Very responsive, pricing was fair, and the actual job itself was done well. They even called after the estimate I had them do to ask about a few specific things in my yard that they wanted to make sure and protect if I wanted to keep them. They also hauled away most of the clipping, and made sure it was cleaned up. Overall, very pleased.Only negative was that my trash/recycling bins were moved by the mowers and not put back in place when they left, but in the grand scheme of things, that is incredibly minor.

I reached out to this company for an estimate of mowing & planting. They sent someone out the next day & called with an estimate. When the cut my yard it looked amazing! Highly satisfied. Always available by phone if you need them.

I have not been happy with the edging they have been doing so I pointed out to the people that were here. They did a much better job edging this time . I hope they keep it up.Mr Esparza and I had hoped to be on the same schedule when he started his service back but we are opposite Thursdays. For the HOA we are supposed to have uniform yards meaning they should be done at the same time. I would to wait 3 weeks to get them done at the same time. If there are other yards done by you, all should be done at the same time.Lastly I have a very tiny yard compared to everyone else but pay the same. We have no backyard really and the two sides and front are tiny. My back area is supposed to be part of the common area but it is not done like that. So still things are done at different times

They were very responsible in telling me in advanced the pros and cons of the work I wanted to do. They aimed to please and stayed well within our budget. My family and I are very pleased with the results and I recommend Grass Works without reservation.

I liked the fact that we eventually arrived at a detailed statement of work, the crew arrived and finished on time and cleaned up well. The work done was average and a few things things happened to make it a less than ideal experience . I emailed a description of the things I wanted to get done, and I got back multiple statements of work for each individual element of work rather than a quote for the project. I tried to summarize what I wanted out of all the SOWs but never got a response. So a couple of weeks later, I tried to summarize again, and got finally a SOW for the whole project. Thankfully, they were able to start pretty quickly. One of the work items was Color Change: 6 flats of seasonal color change in the flower beds.. No one ever bothered to asked what kind of color change I wanted so I emailed a photograph of the type of flowers and plants I wanted. I emailed it twice with the question of how can we accommodate something like this and never got a response before the project began, which ultimately ended up installing 6 flats of the same species of some random flower. I asked Grass Works to trim up and stake an olive tree. They ended up topping it, which I dont think is a healthy way to trim a tree and left all the tree trimmings in the yard (probably just forgot to remove). After the project, no one from Grass Works followed up with me and no one provided any instructions on how to care for, water, etc my new tree, plants and landscaping. So bottom line is, Grass Works does not pretend to be a high level of service business, so dont expect a lot of personal attention, interaction, or horticulture knowledge, design or excellence.

Quick to respond & does a great job mowing & trimming my lawn. We got our lawn mowed on a weekly basis during the growing season and then twice a month during the winter, but we have also had them pressure wash and landscape for us. I would highly recommend.

I have been using Grass Works for a couple of years. They are very good and the crew is amazing, my yard looks so nice after they have been here. This team did a great job today!

For the two most recent mows now we have been left with a yard that isn’t mowed at the same level so we have areas that are burnt because they were cut too low. We need to figure this out and prefer the yard to be cut higher rather than burning areas because it is being cut too short.

Horribly over priced and horrible customer service. Cancelled with them after they charged my card $1,100.00 in less than one months time. This was for a clean up service for my backyard, one lawn mow of front and back and aeration. They were not authorized to take the amount that they did and when I called to talk to Ferris (the manager) about it he yelled and argued with me and told me to read their service agreements. I was completely calm the entire time and there was no reason for him to talk to me the way he did. In the end I felt robbed. They ended up giving me $162 refund but that still didn’t seem fair. Thankfully I found a company that is half the price and has way better customer service. I will never do business with this company ever again. I just hope that other people do their research and read reviews. I wish I had. I would hate for someone else to go through what we did.

You can tell exactly where my lawn ends and my neighbors lawn begins because of the superior quality of product and service that this company provides. A++ service!!! I called them when I needed my backyard cleared of the wild weed growth that had taken over my yard and was scheduled right away on the same day. As quick as that!The tech arrived ready and equipped with all the necessary tools needed for the work. They work hard and were very enthusiastic, nice and efficient, all my shrubs were trimmed beautifully. I will recommend and definitely use them again in the future.

Crooks - do not use!!! Look at their yelp reviews for the real story. These guys will over bill you and use any excuse to get out of the work they are paid to do. When they mess up they tell you to read the contract which they have written to screw over customers. The service is below average as well. They killed a plant I wanted b/c they did not know what it was and also damaged trees & rock work with weed whackers.We fired them after they show up unannounced and left without doing their job because a gate was locked. We were home when this happened, they could see us. They did not knock or call, they just left and charged us.We tried to be reasonable before posting this but were met with rude responses from their customer service.

The grass was cut great like always, but while cutting the grass in the backyard, one of the guys backed up on my 2ft magnolia tree and broke it. He put it back in the hole and left. I know this because I was watching him from the window.

We recently purchased a large lot in Central Austin. Once the house was demolished, we hired Grass Works to do a complete yard makeover. They removed bushes (and their roots), trimmed small trees, mowed the grass and removed all debris remaining from house demo. The team was here for about 8 hours - and it looks fantastic! I always use Grass Works for any yard work and always recommend to neighbors.

Was very happy with the service until this summer. I asked several times for the crew to trim my bushes in the front beds. I finally had to trim one and send a picture before I could get them to do it. When they finally trimmed the bushes, they left the trimmings in the flower bed and scattered around the yard. They have now turned brown and are still there. Very frustrating for the amount of money I pay to have the yard taken care of.

I consistently have one of the most beautiful lawns in the neighborhood and never have to think about it. When one-off services come up (tree-trimming, irrigation repairs, mulch install, etc) these guys can always tackle it. Does my wallet sometimes ache? Yes. But any service of similar caliber will cost this much or more.I would highly recommend Grass Works to anyone who asked.

My backyard was a mess and Grass Works Lawn Care team has managed to turn it into something that I am so excited to show off to whoever will visit us. However, the most impressive thing was the speed, they redid my entire backyard in two days. That includes laying paves over a large area fixing the wall adding outlets and planting trees. My ladylove love what they did.

I’ve almost no complaints with this service, for almost 6 months of using them I’ve noticed a huge development of my lawn. Grass has a beautiful grow, looks green and healthy and the trimming was well-executed. Now, my lawn is the best it has ever looked. Grassworks sent me an email promotion for a free irrigation system audit. On the same day, I asked for a quote for monthly service. 9 days later, I asked them to start the service and conduct the audit. They started the service and never did the audit. When I inquired later about the audit, they said nope that promo was expired. They fraudulently advertise. Very sloppy. I canceled my service due to complete lack of customer service and respect by people like Ferris in the front office. This was the 3rd example of them simply ignoring my instructions and costing me additional money.
