I have a solitaire engagement ring with a high setting. So, as expected, I have to be careful that it does not get caught on anything. One of my prongs was slightly bent so I went in to see Joseph to get an estimate on pricing for a it to be repaired. Nearly 20 years ago Joseph built me a beautiful wedding ring, a completely original design, multi-carat diamond channel set with a prong set center diamond. I still get compliments on the design! However, I accidently damaged the ring causing the band to bend and break the prong setting loose from the band on one side. I was extremely lucky the prongs were so well built I did not lose the diamond! I took the ring to Joseph to see if it could be salvaged, dreading it might need to be replaced, and to my pleasure, he was able to fix it. The ring looks like new and the cost was extremely reasonable. It was such a pleasure to do business with him again, professional, high quality and reasonably priced!

I wanted something special for my wife for our 50th wedding anniversary so I made an appointment with Malcolm at Villareal. Malcolm patiently spent a lot of time with me while asking questions and providing various ring options and designs as well as providing basic information regarding diamond grades. Once we arrived at a ring design that I liked, he showed me a number of diamonds in various sizes and grades that I was able to select from. In addition to the ring, I wanted an exact replica of my wifes older yellow gold wedding band but made from white gold. He was able to produce the exact design, but in white gold while transferring my diamonds from the old band to the new band. Joseph Villarreal was the only jeweler I could find who was able to repair a complete cut through the inscribed portion of my custom made engagement ring. Two other jewelers told me the gold oak leaf my husband designed and placed on the ring, together with the original inscription, would have to be remade because they would not be able to fix the ring itself. They could put the old diamond into a new ring, but that was the best they could do. I have worn this engagement ring with love, day and night, for the past 27 years. Joseph spent significantly more time with me and said he could fix my ring without making a new one. When I picked it up, my ring was truly the same as it was the day my husband gave it to me - it shone like new and nothing had been changed except the slice through the band which had been fixed and reinforced so that the band will not break again. His work is beautiful! I would recommend Joseph Villarreal to anyone.

Villarreal did a fantastic job on a restoration of a diamond brooch which is a family heirloom. Some stones had been removed that needed replacement and also some reworking of the design. I had a concept going in on what I thought might work but in consultation Malcolm at Villarreal we decided on a slightly different approach that was cost-effective and turned out gorgeous. The time-line was also short for Christmas and they were able to accommodate that requirement. A very happy customer indeed!
