Great place to get a nice haircut with extra services. All the staff is really nice. Inside is very clean and up to covid standards. If you are interested in that info, they are mask optional. It was very easy to schedule a haircut online and a day or two before your actual appointment, they send you a text to remind you of your haircut which is super convenient if you forget to write it down. I have tried all the courses they offer and every service is great. It is reasonably priced for the services you get. I will continue to go here for all my haircut needs.

I have been coming to The Gents Place in Austin for about 2 years now. So why am I just now writing a review, sometimes when you have great service, you forget to give shoutouts to those spectacular people; that’s the case for The Gents Place. I mean clearly being a member for 2 years tells you I like the place and keep coming back! Special shoutout to my stylist Shannon who has been with me, trying to make me look good, from the very beginning! I selfishly don’t want you to see her because her schedule fills up. : ) I enjoy the luxury of The Gents Place and it’s where I treat myself. While it seems a little pricey for a haircut, The Gents Place provides so much more than just a haircut. A couple quality cocktails, a scalp massage, face towel, neck shaving, shoe shine... its actually a heck of a deal. Not to mention the excellent service.

Great stylists, great conversation, and not just from my stylist, but the other employees, and customer. These people do everything possible to make sure that youre happy! I always look forward to getting a haircut again.

TGP has a monthly membership fee of 45.00 that includes the haircut, washing, scalp massage, and warm towel. It also includes two drinks of your choice, which can be alcoholic or not, and a shoe shine. This is a great value, seeing that most other places will charge 30-35 dollars for just the cut, and you never know what the quality of the cut will be. Recommend membership highly.

Awesome place. For once, Facebooks spying came in handy. I was looking for a great place to get a straight-razor head shave (oddly hard to find), and I was shown an invite to try this place out.Paul, the owner, did a great job on my shoes. I was not expecting the complementary shoe shine. Very nice.Angel did an awesome job on my head shave and beard trim/clean-up.The atmosphere is amazing, it would be a great place to just hang out. Local artists work displayed on the walls. Great music playing (everything from Dean Martin to Pink Floyd). The prices are fair for what you receive, and you get free drinks on top of it. :-)Finally found a place to get shaved.

This place has become such a shtty place! (If you can get an appointment!!!) I’ve been calling for TWO weeks now to set up an appointment without any luck! I have a yearly membership with them and I regret getting it. Save your money! Go elsewhere, where they can actually book an appointment. They don’t even answer the phone anymore. It goes straight to voicemail. Paul is the “owner” but is rarely there and can’t fix things when they clearly need to be fixed!

I was online looking for a barber on a Saturday and everyone was booked. I scrolled and scrolled and found The Gents Place. I called and noone answered but called right back and was able to get me a same day appt for an extensive service. Honestly, its a bit high in cost for a haircut but the service was incredible. Julia took care of me and gave me an amazing experience! Thanks again and I will try to come back one day! Highly recommend!!! They even shine shoes!

I never got to the haircut part. On arrival, no employee was at the front desk. I showed up 15 minutes early for my haircut and waited at the front desk/bar for the entire 15 minutes. No employee ever came to the front desk to great or check me in over that entire 15 mins.... So i just left.... Nice place but probably wont be back cuz it wasnt the service i expected right off rhe bat

The Gents Place has always gone above and beyond to provide top notch service for the boys. This place welcomed me with open arms to Texas as a Boston outsider. As a member I receive so many perks and was even allowed to essentially rent out the place for my bachelor party to get the full crew looking sharp. They are all very accommodating and flexible to my ever changing schedule. Highly recommend the Gents Place!

The Gents Place is the best haircut experience I have ever had! The location is beautiful and tastefully decorated. The staff was extremely friendly and professional and the service was very nice. My haircut (the three course) turned out great and it included a trip to the relaxation room for a very nice shampoo and scalp massage. The service also included drinks! A beer during my haircut and a topi Chico for the road was very nice. I’ll definitely be returning and I’m even considering one of their annual memberships.

This place makes me feel like a 1950s high society businessman.Update 6/10/2021This place used to be awesome but their customer service has gone downhill. You cannot call the store directly, instead get sent to an answering service that never answers and never calls you back. The past two times Ive gone there have been issues with the services Ive scheduled. This time, I made an appointment for 10AM when I completed my last service over a month ago. I received a confirmation the day before for 12PM and on the appointment the time said 5PM. When I tried to call to find out what was going on, I couldnt. I dont want to have to deal with this anymore but I have a prepaid membership and prepaid shaves. They already have my money, what reason do they have to continue to give good customer service.

Got my 1st haircut since covid here, about 4 months overdue... Had an amazing experience. I opted for the 5 course hair service which included an amazing massage and face treatment. Great atmosphere with a cool lounge area and a full bar! Julia has given me one of my favorite haircuts in years! Found my new spot.

My stylist was extremely nice, the owner showed me around the building and explained to me what The Gents was all about. My experience was relaxing and usually I want to be in and out. Here however, I didnt want to leave. They never tried to over sell me anything, I felt like a valuable customer. If you are thinking about going here, DO IT.

This place is top-notch. I came here looking for something more than the above-average cut at another themed barbershop. The Gents Place did not disappoint! Their space is well designed and makes you feel like you are in a swanky country club. I received their 7-course service from Debbie and it was everything I hoped it would be. Not only did she take the time to help me understand how best to style my hair, but made great recommendations on how to take care of my hair and skin. The cut was the best I’ve ever had. It’s been about a week now and I’ve never had an easier time styling my hair. I’d seen an ad on facebook for this location, tried it out for the first time today....This is heads and tails above any other barbershop.Paying a little more for a haircut to get twice, maybe even three times as good of an experience, is now the only reasonable choice.Thank you to Rebeccah and Ciarra for a great experience today.

Top notch service where they take care of every conceivable need.I felt like this is where don draper would go to get his haircut in New York City, old school barber shop that serves you a crown on the rocks, or a whisky sour while your getting a shave or a cut.Great for bachelor parties and they have a lounge where you can take a load off and relax for a few hours with your favorite drink.Really cool vibe, I highly recommend coming to checkout the gents place.

I wanted to like my experience here so so bad but it ended up feeling like a cash-thirsty bribe the moment I walked in.I set up a cut with Ciaara and was greeted by a hostess who offered me a cocktail and a tour of the facility. I agreed and she began to show me the amenities. I immediately thought, this is the Equinox of haircut places. Against the wall at the front was a large assortment of overpriced hair/beard/teeth care products which didnt surprise me at all. The free shoe shine for subscribers seemed ludicrous. The private lockers were elitist. The private haircut rooms were awkward. The relaxation room seemed appropriate. My tour ended and I was met by Ciaara at the front. I went back and she asked me how I liked my hair cut. I told her and away we went.My haircut request was simple: a 5 over everything, with a 3 on the sides and some blending near my cowlicks. While the conversation was great, I had to correct Ciaara ~5 times that my hair looked goofy and she attempted to make adjustments to my head and beard to no avail. I visited the relaxation room and that was the only highlight of the whole thing. When I returned to be styled, I couldnt help but hear men berating a hairdresser with questions like, how old are you? -- come on, youre gonna tell me. Sounds like a gents place to me...Now I am embarrassed to be seen without a hat on or a face mask. I miss my old beard shape so much and will never cheat on my barber again. This place is overhyped and expensive. I will never return.

The membership pays for itself if you take advantage of free upkeeps and consider the value of your free alcoholic drinks. Highly recommend for people who need a haircut every 2-3 weeks. It’s a country club amenity without the golf course next door.

The space is really well done. Nice leather chairs and a bar area with TVs and newspapers. They offer free drinks and top shelf liquor to sip on during your stay. Angel did a great job with my haircut. They offer a bunch of other services as well. Definitely a place to check out if you’re looking for an upscale grooming experience.

Best gift for your man! This place is beautiful. They created an amazing ambience, that I even enjoyed waiting for my boyfriend there, the staff is very friendly and the music is great. His haircut never looked better, and he really enjoyed the scalp massage, prices are really affordable that we even got a membership. Must try!!

This shop is bar none the best I’ve ever been too. The staffs professionalism and kindness is unmatched to anywhere I’ve been in the past. I’ve been to over 50 barbers in Austin over the years and I can say Angel Daniel is the best barber in Austin hands down. They are not pushy trying to sell you product, all they truly care about is a great experience for their clientele. Would recommend to everyone and anyone.

Exceptional! What a great place to unwind after a long day. The manager/master barber Angel was the utmost professional, detailed, and skilled barber Ive experienced. More than that though, the entire staff was helpful and friendly. Their pricing is very reasonable. The service and atmosphere in the shop is reminiscent of a country club. After my initial experience I was all smiles the rest of the evening. I will certainly be back and recommend to all my friends and colleagues.

This was my first time going to the The Gents Place. I had the 7 Course Service, which was amazing. This, along with a couple complimentary Irish coffees, definitely puts you in a different state of mind - it really helped relieve some built up stress. It’s definitely worth checking this place out and going with an annual membership.

I would highly recommend this experience and club. I have only been a member for about two months and love my decision to join this membership. This club has very friendly staff with Rene, Virginia, Angel etc., and great owner, Paul. If you need a trim, try this Gents Club.

Ive always been very absent minded about haircuts and always thought women paid way too much. This is a place that gives men that experience, but also realizes men prefer expedience. So, I signed up for a monthly membership (primarily because I would forget if I paid the annual membership) 2 months in I am definitely happy. Jodie and Amber are great.

Irish coffee, haircut with eyebrow & ear trim plus neck shave was perfect. Shampoo and condition in the dark room with scalp message was amazing! Can’t wait to come back next month (plus my wife got a pedi next door at the same time). You guys are very welcoming, friendly and provide superior service. Keep it up!

I have been a member since they’ve opened and I see myself continuing to be one for a very long time! The flexibility of scheduling and the great quality service have been phenomenal.

The experience in this location is second to none. From the greeting as soon as I entered to the actual hair cut and experience, I thoroughly enjoyed the time I spent at this location. The staff was attentive and able to answer every question I had about the local location as well as the company and other locations.Because of this experience I will definitely be investing in one of the memberships that are offered.

Awesome experience. This is a wellness purchase. I usually come in tired and wiped but after a haircut and the 5 course treatment its like coming out of a spa.

I made the reservation over the phone. Was never asked what service i wanted. Apparently they put me down for the 3 star service or whatever its called. I sit in the chair where some woman that sounds and walks like Fred Sandford tells me that they cant do the head shave and beard trim that i asked for. Then the front desk lady offers me 2 times that wont work and then says i should have made the appointment online. That way you can be specific with what you want. So why have people take reservations over the phone if they arent competent enough to do it correctly? Needless to say i Wont be wasting my time going there again. Went to DNA barbershop. A bit further to drive, but competency is greatly appreciated.

This place gets it when it comes to service and creating a place of relaxation. I highly recommend to anyone who values being taken care of well.

This was my first visit to the Gents Place. The atmosphere was very upscale and the lady at the front desk was very nice. The problem was my appointment. I had it scheduled for 11:15 am, by 11:35 I was told it would be another 10 minutes or so. There was only one other customer and stylist there.I understand being late by a few minutes, but 30+ minutes is way too long considering I had an appointment. I had to cancel it and leave because I did not have the time at that point. I was really looking forward to the experience that they are trying to sell. Perhaps they should spread out their available appointments to prevent overbooking the one stylist that is there during the day.
