Texas Media Systems is a fantastic place to go to. I was able to get all of my photography needs met here. The staff was very knowledgeable and took the time to talk about my purchase decisions. In fact, even in one instance they informed me that I did not need to make a purchase of a more expensive item in order to fulfill a perceived need I had. Very happy with this company! I originally ordered the Canon R5 + accessories from Canon USA, but when it had been a month and they couldnt tell me when they were expected to ship (and B&H was no better). I turned to Reddit and found a spreadsheet listing all the places people had ordered their R5s and could update the list to report when they actually got them. Many people were canceling their orders with the bigger companies and ordering from TMS, so thats what I did!My camera and accessories arrived within days (before they were even expected to be here) and Im very pleased to have found this company and supported a smaller size business, especially in 2020.Thanks again!

I recently went to Texas Media Systems for the first time and for a very large frame job. The photographer I purchased a piece from highly recommended them. I met with Dave to fulfill my order and he was incredibly friendly and helpful. I explained what I was looking for and he provided excellent options along with a couple recommendations.

Absolutely awesome group of people, very friendly, incredibly helpful and they do everything possible to get you what youre looking for at competitive prices. I havent even visited but when I called they spent 20 minutes on the phone with me giving advice about videography, most of their advice didnt even concern equipment. I really appreciated the concern and lack salesiness. I definitely plan to give back by purchasing equipment here when the time comes.

Despite being on the periphery of the film and TV industry here in Austin for the past few years, I had never been to Texas Media Systems. After shooting with a Canon C100 on a recent project, I decided I *had* to own one, and I didnt want to wait for B&H to ship me one. So I paid them a visit.The staff was really great. They were helpful and knowledgeable without being snarky a-holes (which is a problem with at a lot of camera/gear businesses). They have a really good selection of products and they know their stuff. They also were nice enough to inform me that I shouldnt be paying taxes on gear in Texas and helped me get the right paperwork on file.At the end of the transaction, it was great to be able to carry the camera out and not wait for it to arrive via UPS. Plus, this seems like a great local business and Id rather spend my money here. Ill definitely be back for future purchases.

Terry put me on the waiting list for a Blackmagic camera a little while ago. He emailed the other day to tell me that he was receiving a shipment of cameras the following day. I paid for the camera and it shipped the following day. I just received it.This may sound mundane. However, anyone thats ever ordered a newly introduced Blackmagic product knows how frustrating it can be. They are usually months late. On top of this, some retailers want a deposit or full payment to be be put on a waitlist. Nothing is worse than waiting an indeterminate time for a product for which youve already paid.Terry Nixon and Texas Media Systems are terrific.

This is the second time Ive purchased a Blackmagic camera from TMS, and I live in Florida. When the Ursa Mini 4.6k was released they were way backordered, but Joe took my name and kept me in the loop. A couple of weeks later, a batch of UM4.6ks came in and he made sure I got one. I still have it. I waited to see the reviews on the BMPCC4k and then rented one to test it against my Ursa. Awesome travel camera. But the waiting lists were insane -- again. B&H, Adorama, Samys, everybody had a long list. I called TMS and Ross had a couple of copies on the shelf and was able to ship one to me overnight. Awesome guys, awesome service.

I have been a loyal client to TMS for years now. They have great customer service, great products, friendly staff, and are the best option for buying gear in Austin without a question.

These guys are pro! This is the type of place we need more of. I know that you can find deals on the internet, but when you need support and expertise there is no substitute for having a good retailer. We have bought multiple cameras from Joe and the guys at TMS. They helped make sure we had them when we needed them, we had the accessories that went with them, and that we understood the nuances of the the camera so we could be effective at reaching our production standards right out of the box.

I normal buy all my heavy video gear at B&H Photo in NYC but I decided to look into buying from Texas Media Systems because I am an Austinite and they had a good reputation for sound advice. I purchased about $2K for an Atomos Shogun and a $500 Sony FS5 software HFR upgrade at the suggestion of Joe in sales. I later found out that since I wasnt recording into the camera I wouldnt need this software upgrade. Joe said buying this software is like buying a hamburger so there would be no refund. I wasnt expecting a full refund anyway and understand that purchasing software is slightly different. I later left a message with Jessica-President to explain the situation and she never returned my call. I guess the lesson is to buy from B&H as I always get solid advice and would have never been advised to purchase the software in the first place.

We financed equipment and made several purchases through Texas Media Systems, they have all of the latest gear and equipment and can acquire others you may need as well. They have several financing partners they work with to get you the best rates for your equipment. We were very satisfied with out service, We worked first hand with Joe Kelly; he answered all of our questions and concerns relating to our purchases, and gave us fast turnaround times as far as getting our leases and paperwork completed and most important going the extra mile to get our equipment in on time for our needs.
