A technian came to the house and, as we already knew, determined the bottom drawer of our sons french door fridge had to be replaced. 10 days to get the part. Once the part arrived, we scheduled the tech to come back for install. All of this was PREPAID to a credit card. The tech never showed up! My son took a half day off work for this...for nothing. The tech did not call. He did not text....just no show. We called Sears for an explanation. Was told the tech was way behind that day and couldnt make the appointment for us. But, why no phone call or text ?? No answer for that. I asked for a discount due to all the time our son had to put into this appointment. Guess what? Sears cannot offer any discounts....only the tech can. Sears said they would ask this tech to provoide 20% off. He showed up two days later and installed the drawer. When asked about a discount, he declined to give one. What a joke ! The techs are running Sears Appliance Repair. Never, ever again. Call another company !!

We bought our Kenmore Elite from Sears 6 years ago and were confident that should any problems arise we were in good hands because Sears was known as being one of the best repair service organizations. Well things have drastically changed since then, and we were sorely disappointed. Our refrigerator died and when I called Sears to make an appointment it was 10 days before a tech could come out. I asked if there were any local companies that could come sooner. After looking in their system they said no other companies serviced our area. So, then I personally started calling companies near me and as soon as they learned the model I had they refused to work on it because it is made by LG. Apparently LG has a bad reputation with raising part costs and no assistance to techs on the job. When the Sears tech finally came out he was knowledgeable and competent. However, the labor rate of $776 for 90 mins of work was astronomical. Not only was it extraordinarily high but it was $400-500 more than the labor rate the Sears rep told me on the phone. At that point we were between a rock and a hard place. So, we had to pay the $776 plus parts. My advice is to not buy a refrigerator from Sears. Take your business somewhere else.

Very qualified technician. I decided to wait for Sears to do the repair, even though it took 9 days to get them on site. The technician was very qualified and professional. My only issue was the cost, they charged nearly $90 for the part (an igniter I found on-line for about $20), plus another $400 in labor, and he was there only 1 hour! This is WAY over priced, I wont use Sears again.

My dryer stopped working after another company had come to clean the vent, so I hired Sears Appliance Repair to diagnose and fix the error (lint in the motor and the dryer vent is damaged). I assume it works but the technician told me not to use the dryer until the other company has repaired the damage. The charge was an eyewatering $189 for the work which took maybe 15 minutes. I asked for a copy of the invoice with an explanation of the findings so I can forward it to the other company for resolution. He told me it comes by email. However, I had to call twice over a two week period to get them to send me the email today.Last week, my oven door broke. As I was making an appointment to get it fixed for two days later, the reservations lady told me of a special offer to have my dishwasher cleaned/maintained for only $50 if this was done at the same time. I agreed and both appointments were scheduled for the same window. When the tech came to fix the oven door, he knew nothing about the dishwasher cleaning as he is the oven specialist but told me that the dishwasher tech would be turning up later. He never did.I used the oven at the weekend and found that the door does not shut flush so that my cupboards are getting very hot and I have to keep them cool with a cold damp cloth.Today I called to a) get a copy of my dryer invoice - successful b) to get the dishwasher cleaning re-scheduled and c) talk to someone about the oven door that is not sitting flush. To try to get the dishwasher cleaning re-scheduled led me to talk to 4 different people as I was passed around, none of whom appeared to have the authority to fix their original mistake at the agreed price. Im not sure whether the issue is that no one I spoke to had english as their first language and thus there was some confusion about the issue, or whether they have no authority to make any decisions. I didnt even get to explaining about the ongoing problem with the oven door. After 40 minutes of being passed around, I just hung up and made a note to remind myself never to use or recommend Sears again.

We have master protection agreement but every time we call there is hold for more than 30 minutes before we talk to a LIVE person. The tech that come to our home did not want to wear a mask because he said it does not help - he did not put the covers on his shoes either - during the COVID situations those things are very important. First time the tech replaced parts but it was bad so we could not use our dryer for more than a week and had to invite the same tech once again - same no mask, no shoe covers. Sears needs to do a much better job for the price we are paying for the master protection agreement.

I have a maintenance contract with Sears to do annual checks on my washer, dryer and refrigerator. The only positive thing about my experience with Sears Home Services was the technician, David, who came to my house and did the work. He was wonderful, very professional, explained everything he was doing and gave us tips on how we could take better care of our appliances. I plan to request him for our annual service next year. The rest of my experience with Sears Home Services was awful. My initial appointment to have the work done was for October 9 between 8 and 12. No one showed up or called. I called Sears to inquire about when they would be out and was told that the job had been given to one of their contractors, TNT Appliances in Joliet. I called their number and found it had been disconnected. Using the internet I found another number for TNT Appliances and left a message. I am still waiting to hear from them. Over the next 10 days I spend more than 12 hours on the phone with Sears Home Services trying to get someone to give me a new appointment for service. Most of this time was spent on hold waiting to talk to someone. The normal wait time given on their recording was usually 2 hours or more. (Only once was I given the option for a call back.) Once I actually spoke with someone they were usually very pleasant but very constrained by their internal procedures in their ability to fix my problem. Being sympathetic is fine but you still need to solve the problem. One area where they were sadly lacking was follow up. I finally spoke with someone in the Overflow Group for Contractors and was told he would get back to me by the 19th with a new appointment date. He never called and on the 20th I called again and was told they could service my washer and dryer on the 23rd but couldnt do the refrigerator until the following week. I had a difficult time conveying to them that this made no sense because they already had someone coming to my house on the 23rd. Finally, on the 22nd they were able to confirm that they would be able to service all three appliances on the same day.I have two more years on my contract with Sears Home Services to do annual maintenance checks and dread having to go through this again. My only hope is that I can get David sent to my house to do the work.

Washer broke again with in 2 weeks. Same repair man scheduled to come out on 8/2 contractor cancels appointment at 3:30 on 8/2 and cannot reschedule until sometime on 8/6. Cant even give me a time frame. I called Sears to get another repair person. They refuse. Apparently this contractor was paid for the repair and they dont want to pay someone else to work on my machine. I dont understand I have a contract with Sears and paid my money to Sears. So is my contact not valid with Sears once a contractor has been out to repair? I will have to wait six or more days just to have it looked at then wait on parts because the contractor is over booked. While the contractor was polite he stated not his fault he missed Friday he was scheduled by Sears for other appointments. Umm again my contract is with Sears... I assume they have other repair people. The icing on the cake was the hour and a half I spent on hold with Sears. After having my call escalated I was told by a very rude man that this was the best person to work on my machine because he knew it (been out once) and then he hung up on me. An hour and half holding and I was hung up on. Really disappointed...this is a horrible way to treat people.

I had Sears Home Services come to repair my washer. The fee to come out was $99.00 (which I thought would be applied to the repair charge if I decided to have the repair completed). It was not. The charge is added to whatever repair charge is applied. The problem with the washer was simply a loose bolt holding the motor in place. The tech tilted the washer back, tightened the bolt and was done (about 15 minutes to assess and repair the washer). He charged me $131.00 to tighten the bolt on top of the $99.00 fee to come to my house. When I inquired about the charge, he indicated that the job was coded as a Motor Repair which is a $131.00 charge. I asked if he had a Misc. job code he could use for simple matters like this and he said no. So if he had to replace the motor in my washer, the charge would have been the same as simply tightening a bolt. Had he informed me of the charge before making the repair, I could have at least made a decision. Informing me afterwards blindsided me. I paid the bill but made him aware of my feelings and stated I would be pursuing this matter.I proceeded to call Sears 4 times, Emailed them 3 times, had numerous chat sessions and got nowhere. I tried to escalate the matter but got nowhere. I asked for the name and contact information for the president of Sears Home Services, They refused to share that information and stated I would have to write a letter to them, and gave me the address in Ohio. I mailed the letter June 26, 2018 and have still not had a response.I have 40 years of customer service experience and cannot imagine treating customers the way I have been treated in this matter. I now feel the need to share this experience on social media.

The most recent repair person didnt seem to know what he was doing. Every other time someone has worked on our built-in microwave they have had to remove the entire oven assembly. I told the tech this but he said he could do the repair without that.So he spent an extra hour messing around trying to do the repair with the oven still in the wall. This visit took about two hours when it should have taken no more than 30 minutes.Part of the problem is that Sears no longer provides all oven technicians with oven racks to hold the oven while the tech is working on it. Having one of these racks means they dont need the helper. It seems like a big money-saver to me to have the rack. The helper was a waste of time. He took and made several personal phone calls during the repair. One time he was still talking on his personal call while the two of them were trying to wrestle the oven back into the wall. The helper kept going out to the truck to check on things but when he came back he reeked of cigarette smoke, so we know the real reason for his departure. They finally got the oven back into the wall when they realized they had left off a major part, so they had to take everything out again. It was a real circus. This was the second visit. After the first visit by a different tech, Sears sent wrong parts. It took repeated chats and phone calls to Sears to get that worked out.

I understand sometimes that because of unforeseen issues with the repair work that repair person may be late. But priority should be given on future calls if the repair person was late the first time. The priority does seem to have been given on the fourth time. Also initial repair person not as experienced as later ones and so thought gasket needed to be replaced but box was really the part that was bad. I understand thatbasic maintenance work (yearly checkup) could be done by a less experiencedperson but this worries me a bit if there is a major issue that might be over looked. Is the cracked box a general problem with this furnace? Are screws tightened too much?

Our service person Mike was very professional and serviced our needs effectively. Unfortunately the part that was needed would had to have been ordered something which I could have done easily a week before. But was unable to buy your policy.

When Sears came out to fix my washer they also gave me some pointers for detergent, dryer sheets and detergent for my dishwasher! They did an excellent job and I would use them again in a heartbeat.

Bill did an outstanding job of explaining what he was doing and the steps we needed to take in between annual check-ups. Better service than we get anywhere else. Thanks.

Well, the tech came on time and did an initial check. Nothing was found wrong except the electric circuit breaker. Then charged $145 instead of $95 which was estimated.I dont know why it is higher than before.

Friendly service person, but incredibly over-priced. We needed a $40 part replaced on our refrigerator and they wanted to charge $350, including an uplift on the part to $75. Ridiculous.

The problem with my refrigerator is that it does not defrost as it should. After about six months, ice forms on the back and bottom of the refrigerator. It has done this since new. During the normal warranty period we were told we were not storing food correctly and that our settings were not correct. That went on until the the warranty expired. This is the second service call for the same problem under the extended warranty. After explaining the issue with the dispatcher I was told the repair tech would arrive ready to repair the problem. The repair tech showed up LOOKED inside the refrigerator, did not test or disassemble anything, then said he didnt have the parts to fix the problem. We then had to wait a week for another Tech to return to repair the problem. As I said in the beginning it takes about six months for this problem to reappear, so I cant complete a review at this time. This is a common problem with this model refrigerator. After explaining the problem to the dispatcher, giving model and serial number. The first repair tech should have arrived with all items necessary to make the repair.

Sears service offers relatively lower cost of diagnostic fee and claims the fee shall apply to repair. However, the bill came out a skyrocket high figure. The so-called repair fee, to my best knowledge, should have been the final total cost, yet Sears charged it as additional - on top of diagnostic fee. From my past numerous experiences, Sears has over-charged. I see how they endeavor to, first of all, lure customers by the relatively low diagnostic cost, and secondly, they want to sell one year extended warranty by bringing total charge close to it - only $11 more, then can customers get a year warranty as opposed to 3 month. I absolutely dislike such marketing strategy, because of it, I paid $99 more than what I should have had. Ive wanted to rate with NO star, but wasnt able to....at least one star is required, so here is the ONE.

Well after the first time they didnt fix my dishwasher...the second timeThey came they had to order parts. The third time they came they installed the parts and that didnt solve the issue so they ordered more parts. This was only time the service tech actually came back to see if his fix actually worked. The fourth time they came they installed parts and this did not fix the issue that didnt solve the issue. So they came a fifth to order more parts to be installed on their sixth visit. Hopefully this will resolve the issue however Im not going to hold my breath. Also, when you call the call center they treat you with little respect

Did not care for the technician he didnt even vacuum out the dryer. Everything I would ask him about to fix he told me it wasnt covered on my warranty agreement. He told me that the washer was going to need something to do with overload censor, I asked him if it could be changed he said it didnt need to be changed today. Made me feel like he didnt want to work.

The tech arrived in the window agreed to, and was able to diagnose and fix which turned out to be a relatively quick repair on an 11 yr old washing machine. Better than buying a new one!

Technician was outstanding! The parts department was not good, it took a week to get the part. I only got the part shipped once I called to find out what was going on. The first time I called I got disconnected and had to call back. It was obvious the Sears call center was outsourced and the quality of service suffered.

I needed a condenser for my fridge. Sears sent the part to the wrong state and the day before servicemen were to arrive I called customer service to report I still hadnt received the condenser. I was told then that it shipped to wrong address and I had to call UPS. (Really?) since then I was shuffled back and forth from service, parts and customer service and very little consideration or help from anyone. It took a month to get the repair done and I was without a refrigerator for all that time. However, Jay the serviceman was excellent, Apologetic and caring. He was professional and knowledgeable. Thank you Jay, shame on you Sears!

Sears Protectiom Plan is one of the best plans. Even though its somewhat expensive but it pays off very well. The technicians are experienced, curteous and professional. Overall A+ experience.

We decided not to go through with the repair of our ice maker as the estimated cost was prohibitive. We were told the visit to get an estimate was $99. It ended up being $139. Not sure how or why? Asked if we could think about the repair before deciding. Absolutely! However then another repair call would be needed first just to order the part. I asked, but our first repair person would not just write down the part number so it could be ordered when I called to schedule if we decided to move forward with the repair (which we later chose not to). This would have been an additional day off of work for no reason!
