Great place Steve and his daughter really care. DMV didnt have a copy of my smog cert indicate from the year before and Steve took the time to look through his file cabinet and found it so I could get a copy. He took time out of his busy day and helped me free of charge. He is honest and very helpful. His daughter always has a smile and does just as much as he does to make you feel like a person and remembered me from the first time I went there i highly recommend them

I drive a bit further than I need to get to THIS smog inspection station. I drive past the others because I used to be involved in a similar business many years ago, and I very much appreciate how Sierra Smog is operated. Ive been here many times and have always been treated very well by all the staff. The business is well run, friendly, reasonable in cost and CLEAN. Take a look around next time your there and youll notice that the office area AND the shop area are both exceptionally clean.I brought down my wifes car to have a smog check two weeks ago but on the drive down the check engine light came on. When I arrived at Sierra Smog I spoke with Steve about the need for a smog check and the check engine light being on. He shared that by law they cant do a smog check on a vehicle with a check engine He checked the cars electronic system and was able to determine that it was related to the fuel evaporation system. He found the gas cap to be slightly loose, tightened it, and told me to drive it for about a week or so and the light will go off. So I did, and he was right! The light went off shortly thereafter and I went back for the smog check. Again, treated very well and had a fast and easy smog check.I HIGHLY recommend this family run business for smog checks. Why go anywhere else?

Very happy with the service they provide here. Steve and his crew are super nice and very patient. Had an check engine light for a small evap leak.. after replacing the part for the evap leak they cleared the code for me. Drove a couple hundred miles and came back to them so I can finally pass smog. Thank you thank you

My dad has gone to this smog place for years and he was kind enough to hold the door open for another customer just for the customer to flip out on him and tell him that he’s going to go in front of my dad and that only one person can be in the store at a time. My dad was already being helped he was going to the truck to check the miles on it, so when he came back in he shouldn’t have been disrespected by another customer the owner did absolutely nothing and lost a really good customer forever. Maybe next time don’t let another customer disrespect a loyal customer like my dad. I’m disappointed that he had to have an experience like this and I will tell all of my friends to not give business to a place like this. Learn how to treat your customer this is sad, unjust, and downright disappointing.

Steve at Sierra Smog is honest and trustworthy. We owned a small dealership so we took all of our smogs to Kendall and Steve. My wife bought her first car from them (posted below), and my wife loves there dogs. Friendly safe and reliable. Clean restrooms and nice newly upgraded waiting room. Dont go anywhere lse. Best prices around. There boating people too 🐋 . So I had to post our boat on here.👍

They charge an additional 4% if you use your credit or debit card. For that, The receptionist said shed give me a discount if I wanted it. Im watching the mechanic drive my vehicle while talking on the phone. The mechanic doesnt seem to like his job. If they have any friends that come by, theyll let them jump ahead or do some of their own fixing. longest Ive ever waited for a smog check. Watched as my rv sat there while he worked on other cars even the cars that showed up here after me. I guess to the receptionist shortly be ready means 2-3 hours and being neglected. Add to that, they dont care and dont enforce wearing a mask. Never coming back here

I have been to Sierra Smog for years, so thought of them when I needed a smog, even though I wasn’t living nearby any longer. I called ahead to find out their COVID precautions and was kindly told I could wait in the car. I thought that meant all work would be done under the hood. I haven’t paid much attention to the procedure in the past. I also assumed staff would be wearing masks. When I arrived, the technician who came to my car was not wearing a mask and indicated he’d need to have access to the inside of my vehicle. A sign on the front door asked customers to enter the office one at a time and wear masks. The technician informed that the car needed repairs in order to pass, so I left and dealt with that for the next week. I called Steve, the owner, and asked why staff weren’t wearing masks. He mentioned It was due to them being outdoors, but that they were reviewing their policies. He offered to be present when I came in next for the smog. When I returned two weeks later staff were still not wearing masks, and some customers were not either. Steve graciously put a mask and gloves on to service my vehicle and comped me for my feedback. I appreciated his willingness to serve me with health protocols given that I am in a vulnerable category. I kind of worry about others at a variety of businesses who have to speak up in order to protect themselves.Thank you, Steve, at Sierra Smog!

THIS GUY SEEMED SHADY TO ME SITTING IN A DARKENED BACK CORNER OF FRONT OFFICE, AND I TURNED OUT TO BE CORRECT.HE THEN EMERGES WEARING FULL BODY TATTOOS AND BEGAN HIS LIES ABOUT MY VEHICLE NEEDING HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS IN REPAIR FIRST BEFORE THEY CAN EVEN HOOK UP THE SMOG MACHINE TO MY VEHICLE, I THEN LEFT WITH A “RED LIGHT” GOING OFF IN MY HEAD.UPDATE: TOOK MY TRUCK TO A “TOP SHELF” SHOP IN GRASS VALLEY, TOM’S CAR CARE, HWY 174, GRASS VALLEY, AND THEY TOLD ME TO DRIVE 100 MILES TO RESET MY COMPUTER IN VEHICLE, SO I DID AND IT PASSED WITHOUT MYSELF GETTING RIPPED OFF HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS BY SOME AUBURN TRANSPLANT !!! ——-THIS LEVEL 6 GUIDE DOES NOT RECOMMEND——- ——GO ELSEWHERE FOR YOUR SMOG NEEDS—-

I rent U-Haul from here regularly, and it is always a hassle free experience. Each time I am here, they are busy and from my experience they run a tight ship. You can expect to be helped in a speedy fashion, but with all the customers that come here, there is a wait sometimes.

Above and beyond to squeeze me in on such short notice even though they were fully booked and quite busy. Very hospitable and accommodating with my dog. Very prompt with service and took the time to explain things in a way i could understand. Even gave me a discount. Excellent smog service!

Reception the lady did her very best 5stars for that but the teem did not, they just wanted business and did not bother to be true about the time(edited on 10/17/18 10:59 pm) after reading your reply today I want to add that my low rating and complain was not based on technical issues causing the delay but it was on withholding the information that other customers are waiting too with the same hope as me that i was the next customer in line where as i repeatedly kept asking for the same. Hope you will be honest in such times now onward.

WOW!!! Every time I go there for a problem or concern this company SHINES!! The owner & staff are AWESOME!! They take the time to explain what they can or cant do in a drive-thru setting.They have done a few things for me & Im not disappointed. I still have work to b done & believe me they will be the ones I have do it.I like that I can go in there & they dont act like your a idiot woman. They took the time to come out & talk to me about problems in laymans terms. I didnt feel like they were fishing for money!! I cant say that about many companies.I hope this helps you all!!
