Wonderful volunteer service with little hassle to get going. One of the most efficient and forward thinking volunteer services Ive ever had the pleasure to work with. Highly recommend spending some time here to help those in need.

Volunteering at Open Hands was a great experience! Orientation helped me understand this nonprofit and the services they provide to so many people in need. I enjoyed putting the meals together and working with others to complete the tasks.

The work that open hand does in the Atlanta Community is a necessity. They deliver meals to those that cant go about a normal daily routine. They also offer plenty of community service hours for whoever needs it. The staff here is very knowledgeable of the Atlanta Community and also very cooperative and friendly with whatever it is that youre trying to achieve. Theyre always looking for volunteers so if you want to do good work around the community definitely volunteer over at open hand

I loved volunteering at open hands and so did my students a great spot for a large group of people to spend time giving back. Facility is clean staff is very knowledgeable organized and helpful. Love their mission will be back!

The managers let altercations go on without any authority. One manager Vince will physically watch an altercation or verbal abuse and will do nothing about it but say he cant do anything and re direct you

This is a fantastic place to volunteer. They are organized and efficient.

Keller Willians Roswell volunteered as a group in 4 hour shifts. Open Hand is very well organized and provides food at a high standard to those in need. The meals a scientifically constructed down to the macro nutients based on the recipients needs. Anyone can order the meals at a reasonable cost or donate as well to feed others. It was an amazing experience.

I started volunteering about 2 months ago and am still in awe over how organized and friendly everyone is. I always leave feeling fulfilled and purposeful in the giving of my time.

What an amazing life altering experience! To know that there are programs and organizations out there like this gives me hope and encouragement. I will definitwly be going back there to volunteer and I encourage more people to do so as well. They are always looking for more volunteers.

I wish I could give this place 0 stars. I’ve been looking for opportunities to volunteer at a place that can accommodate a hectic schedule. Open Hand seemed to fit the bill and had great reviews. I showed up this past Friday for a 4-7pm shift to help box meals. A large group had come just before and the only thing left to do for the day was go through boxed meals in their freezer and dispose of what had “expired”. And by “expired” I mean everything that had a package date older than 9/26/18. I was appalled at all the perfectly good food that was disposed of in large commercial black bags that could have gone to the homeless. Out of 12-15 large bakery racks with tray upon tray of boxed meals, only 1.25 complete racks were salvaged and some 15+ garbage bags thrown out. All of your donations, time, and goodwill are going to waste at this place. If they cared about giving to those in need they wouldn’t be throwing out good food and people’s charitable time along with it. I will never volunteer my time or donate anything to Open Hand again.

A good locally based charity that provides help directly to the Atlanta metro area. It is a good place to volunteer and to be able to see exactly what your efforts are producing.

I used to volunteer with Open Hands maybe a year ago. I had an amazing experience here. One of the things I loved most about choosing this choosing this place to give my time was that I could make it a family affair. Every Saturday morning we would deliver healthy meals and bond as a family. My youngest always got a kick out of knocking on the door yelling Open Hands ! If you have any high school students that have community service hours that they need to fill, this is a great place for them to do it. You can either help prepare meals, pack meals, distribute meals to drivers or deliver them. Im sure there is an administrative side that you can help out with but I am constantly receiving emails that they need drivers.
