While there are many options of Vets in my area we drive 25 minutes to receive amazing care at Belle Isle. The office staff is always prompt with answering and returning phone calls. They also respond to emails quickly as well. I trust all the Vets there with my pets lives. We switched to Belle Isle because another practice wanted to perform unnecessary surgery on my dog. Dr. Wolkow went above and beyond to make sure that my sweet Sadie did not need this surgery. Talking to her is like talking to friend. She is honest and knowledgeable and will help you make the right choices when it comes to your animals. Our love for Belle Isle and all those who work there in as strong as their love for providing amazing care to all the animals that they see.

I love belle isle! They have always treated my dog like their own. The techs are all beyond nice and helpful and so are all the doctors there. They usually can fit me in day of if needed and are always there for questions on the phone or via email. Definitely recommend!

I have been going here for years. While it is often tough to think about the price of treatment for two dogs, I ran a research analysis and Belle Isle’s prices are very competitive - while knowing the quality of service is going to be so great every time. During the pandemic, to keep the staff safe, you cannot go in with your dog. We had a lot of health issues due to mold this year. I wrote out all of my questions prior and emailed them to the staff and let the assistant know where to find them during our appointment. The doctor then stayed on the phone with me for ~10 minutes after the appointment addressing each question and concern on my list. I definitely recommend this practice to anyone looking. They really do care about your pups/pets and will make sure to treat them like their own pets at home. One of my dogs isn’t even scared to go in or to the back alone anymore because, we’ll, I’m not sure, … he must get treats on the inside. 😂

I had two geriatric kids who needed TLC and I needed advice about their care. They were so gentile, sweet and understanding. I have never had vets who sit on the floor with my pets. I rate Belle Isle 15 out of 10. They are the best. I have a 14 year old poodle and a 4 year old papillon. Been going there for 14 years. All employees are kind and compassionate. Recently we almost lost our poodle, but they pulled him through. I highly recommend.

We have been going to Belle Isle Animal Hospital for over 22 years. The owners may have changed but the service never failed and improved even more. The staff is very kind and loving with our pets. The doctor makes us feel as if our pet is her only concern even asking for weekend updates. During COVID their process was efficient and we continue to feel safe. Our dog today, Oliver is never afraid to go in and seems excited to see the staff no matter the reason for the visit.

Dr. Wolkow is very good with my large dog who is nervous around strangers. The staff are always friendly and appointment times are kept.

We couldnt be more pleased with the experience we have had for our two dogs with Belle Isle Animal hospital over the past 5 years - and especially over the past 3 months. Our more senior dog has had two entirely separate incidents in that short timeframe. One seems to have been a snake bite and the other some form of gastrointestinal infection. In both cases the ailments masqueraded as something else and the Belle Isle team demonstrated great care, commitment, patience, empathy, and expertise in sorting through the options and potential treatment paths. We worked with all three doctors (Wolkow, Carr, and Whalen) across the incidents. They backed each other up and provided exceptional care, always focused on what was best for our pet. All other routine care, boarding, and other services are delivered by a great team. But these recent experiences really set them apart.

I have a dog that most have pre-judged and wouldn’t help including vets in the same vicinity. They have been gracious, open, thoughtful, sensitive, helpful, smart, resourceful, and like extended family. I also have cats and hamsters. My daughter wants to be a veterinarian. They allowed her to do a tour and talked/educated/inspired her with simply taking the time to answer all her questions. Love this place and eternally grateful and loyal.

Called over the phone as my dog was out of her meds and the young lady was condescending I stated to her on my initial call the pharmacist faxed over refill info three days ago and faxed again yesterday she stated “I WASNT HERE TGREE DAYS AGO” she was not helpful I heard a lady in the back ground saying we have a fax from the pharmacy she then stated it’s been back with the doctor for approval I’ve had problems with this office before however I like sticking to one place for my baby needing this type of meds it doesn’t cost anything to be nice

My experience with the staff at Belle Isle has been marvelous. Ive owned multiple dogs over 33 years and Im not afraid to change animal hospitals if they cant cut it. I came to Belle Isle after the ownership of my last vet changed, and Ive never regretted it. My dogs like the practice there, too.

Belle Isle has been incredible to us and our pup. Theyre always warm, welcoming, and gentle with her. We truly feel as if our business is valued and they care about our dog/daughter. Wed highly recommend Belle Isle to anyone with a furry family member!

Have been using Belle Isle since 1973. Continued to do so after Dr. Riva Wolkow bought the practice and expanded the scope and size. Have been very comfortable and pleased with the everyday & emergency care the entire team has provided for my Maltese dogs. Their excellent care (for pets and pet parents/families) is very evident.

A great place to take your pets. They are never pushing expensive treatments and explain very well all the possible options. I have three pets and I would never take them anywhere but this place.

The lovely doctors and staff of Belle Isle have taken care of our four-footed-family members over a dozen years. Were loyal customers for all services: well-baby, injuries, illnesses, aging and kenneling needs. Were grateful for the knowledge, experience and bedside manner from all, even when times can be ruff! Our dogs are family to us, and I have always felt that everyone at Belle Isle Animal Hospital feels this way too. They take the time to follow up and always squeeze us in if we have an emergency. All of the vets and techs are great and so is the front desk staff. We wouldn’t go anywhere else!

I truly feel blessed that I found this veterinary practice. My most recent dog had epilepsy and this group helped me with great compassion and, when he died, sent a sympathy card. I now have a new dog and am very happy having them to care for her.

When I first moved to Atlanta more than 3 years ago, it was though to find a veterinary that could properly give proper care to my old doxie. We tried different places, and all of them were acceptable but nothing outstanding. Until we found Belle Isle! They are the most caring, professional and loving. They came to actually know Snoopy very well and have been very accurate with every diagnostic. At his old age, it is difficult sometimes to get a good diagnosis, but for Belle Isle that was not a problem. Snoopy and me really recommend them fully. They are the best!

I have been going to Belle Isle for a couple of years. The staff and doctors are very knowledgeable and caring. They have provided excellent care for my little dog and I am very happy with everyone there.

EVERY single person at this clinic is fantastic. Every doctor, every tech, every employee. We have 4 dogs and each one gets individually catered care. You feel really heard and you can tell they care about your pets just as much as you do. Their prices are always on point and clear. They always try and help out and make the best recommendations for treatments, payments, or just what’s best for your pet in general. I will always take my furry pups here. 12/10 would recommend.

We love Belle Isle! We originally went to Belle Isle due to proximity near our home after reading all the good reviews. We have since moved farther away and have another vet right across from our new house but love Belle Isle so much we drive over 20 minutes one way to take our pups there. They diagnosed one of our pup’s slipped discs in her back and gave us a referral to an excellent surgeon who did a wonderful job with the surgery. Our dog is able to walk again and made a full recovery. Belle Isle is the only place we trust with risky dental cleanings with putting our dogs under anesthesia as well. Can’t say enough good things about them and Dr. Unger.

The vets and staff are at Belle Isle Animal Hospital are exceptional. They are kind, compassionate and provide the absolute best vet care. I found an injured stray cat and they made time to treat it the day after Thanksgiving even though I was not an established client. Because of them, we also now know the cat is not actually feral but very sweet. We will continue to use them for vet care and cannot say enough good things about this practice.

I dont know too many dogs that get excited about going to the vet, but Honey loves it at Belle Isle Animal Hospital. Ive walked in with no appointment and been seen, no problem. All three Doctors are great, the techs are great, Josh is great! Honey jumps right into the patient chair every time we come in. Everyone is caring and friendly, and its pretty clear that the animals are loved. Thanks for always taking such fantastic care of my girl.

Belle Isle Animal Hospital is the best! My Norwich Terrier, Louie went in for a routine dental cleaning. He, apparently, had a reaction to the induction medication and his heart stopped! Dr Ballal, assisted by her team performed CPR and saved Louie’s life. There are no words to express how grateful I am. Had it not been for their expertise and quick action, I would not have my beloved pet home with me today. In addition to their professionalism, the entire staff displayed so much love and kindness towards my husband, myself and Louie that we felt a part of the Belle Isle Family.Thank you Belle Isle!

The staff at Belle Isle are WONDERFUL!! They always treat us like family and show so much love and care for our two dogs. One of our dogs was recently diagnosed with Addisons disease and they take such great care of him. They know that he is most comfortable having shots/treatments in the room with my husband and I, so they accommodate our dogs needs and bring him yummy treats. The staff are knowledgeable, patient, and loving. A terrific place!

The entire group of physicians and staff are wonderful. They are responsive and professional. Dr. Wolkow worked with me when one dog had cancer and passed away and we rescued two dogs that had been abused. She is wonderful not only with the pets but also with the parents.

Every staff member and vet/vet tech has been SO friendly and helpful. I always seem to ask the dumb questions, but you can really tell how much they truly care about your fur children. I would without hesitation recommend to anyone looking for a great provider!

The vet and staff are very professional, helpful and compassionate. Pets are taken to the back and examined there. Personally, Id rather have my pet examined in the exam room so I can interact with the doctor during the exam to ask questions. This is personal preference and not a reflection on the care provided.

Belle Isle Animal hospital is a rarity. Filled with loving staff and veterinarians who care about their patients and their human guardians. Belle Isle saved our dog’s life! A little over a year ago, our dog was bitten by a copperhead snake, and when our current vet at the time told us they were too busy to take her (WHAT), we called Belle Isle. Not only did they offer to see her right away, treating it as an emergency, the staff made us feel taken care of and at ease. The treatment they gave her far exceeded our expectations, and their laser therapy method even prevented her skin from falling off, making the healing period much shorter. We are so glad we found Belle Isle - they will forever be who we trust to care for our pets.

I have been a client of Belle Isle for the past several years and just love it. I have several dogs of my own as well as ongoing foster/rescues. I have seen all of their vets and they all give the best care to the fur babies. They are compassionate and thoughtful in their practice. Their staff genuinely cares about you and your animals. The appointment times usually run timely and they are conveniently located. I have recommended several friends to Belle Isle and every one of them is now a client. I have them my highest rating.

Weve been taking our 3 (formerly 4) pets to Belle Isle Animal Hospital for about 2.5 years, and they have been wonderful. We havent visited terribly often, mostly for annual exams and a couple times our pets were sick, and they still remember every one of our pets. They are kind to us and our pets, and it really shows. Our dogs are excited to go. Our cats who have needed to be restrained with protective gloves at other vets do not show the same distress. One time, as I walked out of an appointment, our dog wiggled out of her collar and started running towards the busy intersection nearby. I ran after her in a panic, and she ran further away. They came out to help, and she eagerly ran to the vet tech like they were best friends.They are honest and considerate in telling us our options for treatment and cost. When our dog got into her flea medicine and ate several months worth of doses, they were particularly cautious and called the company that made the medicine to be sure the amount was safe while I was still driving over to prevent unnecessarily pumping her stomach. When we had two pets need expensive treatment in a row while money was tight, they allowed us to pay in 3 installments without 3rd party financing. When our dearly departed cat developed liver cancer and later diabetes, they were comforting as they explained how much time he had left, what signs we should look for that he was in pain, and so on. And shortly after he passed, they sent a condolence card.I will say that one thing that makes me somewhat uncomfortable is that we cant be present for certain procedures that must be done in the room where they have certain equipment (e.g. the ultrasound). However, once we thought to ask, they tried their best to accommodate our request to conduct as many procedures in the exam room with us present as possible.Overall, I highly recommend using Belle Isle Animal Hospital!

Our sweet Tiny Dog passed after a long and happy 16.5 years with us. It was one of the hardest decisions we ever had to make, and the doctors at Belle Isle helped us along the way and made us feel very comfortable about everything. We have no doubt it was his time, and Belle Isle helped us come to peace with that and get us all through the transition as best as can be under the circumstances. I am so glad we chose Belle Isle 7 years ago when we moved to the area. Tiny was in very capable and loving hands with the doctors and staff of Belle Isle. Thanks again for all your support.

We love Dr. Unger and the whole staff at Belle Isle! We moved farther away last year and I now drive 30min for our dog to still be seen by this staff. They dont recommend things that arent needed, they are always spot on with their diagnosis and the pricing is in line and fair with other vets. On top of that, they are very sweet and loving.

Fantastic doctors and vet techs! They take very good care of the animals, examine thoroughly. You have the option of being present along with your pet at the time of treatment. The vet techs here ask you a lot of questions to understand the problem so the doctors can diagnose well and not prescribe unnecessary medication. You can follow up via phone most cases. Better bang for your buck compared to VCA hospitals. A special shout out to Dr. Ballal who has taken very good care of my pet!

Recently, my cat was treated for a urinary tract infection at Belle Isle Animal Hospital by Dr. Unger. She was amazing, having provided tests to make certain Sally didnt have any underlying issues (such as kidney problems). Sally was sicker than I realized so she spent one night at Belle Isle so she could be watched by the staff. She was administered antibiotics, and the staff taught me how to give Sally one more pill in the regimen. I appreciate the care, love and personal attention given to Sally and me. I love Belle Isle Animal Hospital! Dr. Wolkow and staff are (of course) animal lovers, so they understand how we humans feel about our fur babies. When my Golden Retriever, Brody had to be put down last year, they were so very kind - to all of us! Now, they are caring for my mini schnauzers. They give great advice, know about the different personalities of different breeds, and are a wealth of resources for all-things pet related. Great group of people!

I have been taking my baby dog to Belle Isle for several years now. The whole team is always very kind and they are very knowledgeable. He is a senior dog now and they take such great care of him during his teeth cleaning, it makes me feel so much more comfortable with the process.Also, a few years ago, I had an employee whose dog had been to another vet and they couldnt figure out what to do. I referred her to Belle Isle and her puppy got to go home after a day healthy again. Prior to going to there, she was worried her dog was going to pass.Great, great place! Whether for nail clipping or annual appointment, I have never had to wait in the lobby more than 10 minutes. I appreciate the warmth and individuality given by the doctors and technicians as they made Sally, my Calico feel calm and more cooperative. Dr. Unger has been caring for my lab since 2010. She has always been excellent with him and provided great care over the years for him. She has made sure to take the time to address all my concerns and explains everything in an understandable fashion. All the other employees at Belle Isle have always been great to work with and always have a positive attitude about what they do. I think my lab actually enjoy going to the vet to see many of his favorite people!

This is the first review I’ve ever left on any website. I’m so thankful for this animal clinic. My dog was bit on the ear by another dog last night and I was worried it would get infected so I decided the next morning I needed to take him to a vet. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to find anyone to check him out until Monday since it is Saturday and vets are really busy. My normal vet is closed on weekends so I called clinics in the area to try and get a last minute appointment and Belle Isle was the only one who helped me. I got an appointment within about an hour and was in and out in thirty minutes. The staff was very nice and helpful and reassuring. I love my other vet but I will also be using this one as well from now on. Thank you so much!

We have two dogs and have been taking them both to Belle Isle Animal Hospital for about two years now. We have been very happy with them. They seem to really care about our dogs. We used to go to another vet in Buckhead, and while they were competent we always sort of felt like they cared more about the money than about our dogs. Belle Isle Animal Hospital has been a more positive experience pretty much all around. We have recommended them to several friends as well, and they have expressed similar sentiments.

Belle Isle is always very helpful and kind to both my fur babies. They always give me detailed explanations to anything I ask. They are patient with both my sweet, nervous one as well as my more difficult, aggressive one. Ive been going there for years, and have no plans on ever changing vets!

I went here for the first time this morning; Im so glad I did! After looking at many reviews online I called and made an appointment at 7:30am and they were able to get me in at 8:30am! It had been a while since I had taken my pup to the vet and I was ready for the owner shamming that I thought I would receive. I said, its been a while I know thats bad... the response I got from Josh: youre here now and thats what matters. He was super sweet with my chihuahua. Then Dr. Wolkow came in, and she was just as nice! There wasnt any trying to sell me anything she didnt need and no pressuring about doing things that they think needs to get done in near future. Best Vet Clinic in Atlanta! Having lived in Atlanta for over 25 years, we have always had dogs (2-3 at a time) in our lives. We have gone to some of the more well known Vet clinics but am so happy to have found Dr Unger and the rest of the staff at Belle Isle. She has helped with new additions to our family as well as assist us with our senior dogs traveling on to the Rainbow Bridge. I had an amazing experience my first time! I called at 7:00 am in the morning and got an appointment a hour later for my new puppy. He got vaccinated and treated within 30 minutes! The doctor and tech were so helpful and took such good care of me and my puppy. I highly recommend.

The staff here is always so nice and understanding and really make an effort to schedule times that work for you. You can tell the doctors love the dogs and they always get on the floor with them and make them comfortable and calm! I send all my girlfriends and their pups here!

We have taken our first Golden retriever, our rescue mutt Zoe and our cat Stevie to Bellaire for 9 years.We really appreciate the professionalism of the veterinarians. They are cautious, but do not order unnecessary tests or medications.Dr Unger is cost conscious for us, which we appreciate.We now have a 2 year old Golden mix who was sick with diarrhea for the first 7 days we had him☹️. He was new to us on November 9th!Dr Unger helped us through this event!I highly recommend Bellaire Veterinary Hospital.

I have recommended Belle Isle Animal Hospital to friends and coworkers who have animals for their high level of care for animals and focus on taking the time to talk things through with me. Dr. Unger is wonderful and is great at giving options if there is something that needs to be done, not just trying to get you to go the most expensive route. The staff is very friendly and finding appointment times that work for us is easy with their evening and weekend hours. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great vet in Atlanta.

We take our cat and dog to Belle Isle. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable.And the place is laid back. My 6 year old son usually comes with me when we bring one or both pets. He loves it.

Belle Isle is wonderful! They have taken care of all of our cats and our dog - now 7 year old Aussie. I love how caring, kind, and attentive they are… in the few times there was something going on with my animals that I was concerned about, the Belle Isle team always got them in and took great care of them. Love love love Belle Isle Animal clinic. All the people there are welcoming and friendly. The Drs are terrific! My dogs love going there. I feel totally confident that they are taking care of my dog. Shout out to Josh!

I was delighted to discover Belle Isle for my cat Bert. They went out of their way to get us in when Bert was having problems. They handled his mega colon problem and did not charge me an arm and a leg to do it.It is a great relief knowing I can afford to take Bert in when he needs attention.Thanks so much!Rita O
