We had a great time! I was nervous to go on a boat (not a big fan of water) but they kept us safe and we had a blast! We went for a 12 year olds birthday and he couldn’t stop smiling!

The fishing trip was absolutely fabulous. We arrived first thing in the morning, and we were greeted by a happy and smiling guide, Lacey. She got us right onboard. She had the boat all ready. It was clean and immaculate. This was our first-time sturgeon fishing. Lacey was absolutely wonderful and so patient with us. She knew exactly where to go and how to help us have a great time. We were catching right away! I was so impressed how she engaged with my teenage son and my father-in-law. She was able to talk area relate to both of them. She made it so fun for all of us and was full of encouragement as we learned the ropes. Absolutely she is the best.

First off, I didnt hire this company... But, I was out fishing by the Astoria-Megler Bridge and happen to run across one of their guide fishing boats. It was a rough day, we were getting skunked, so we decided to follow their boat when they moved... We followed their guide boat to two different spots and we ended up getting fish on the boat at both locations. I figured I would leave a positive review because these guys definitely know there the fish are at! If I do decide to go with a Guide Fishing Service it will definitely be Total Fisherman.

From the moment we were greeted at the dock by captain Lacey to our departure, it was a totally wonderful experience. The boat ride was quite comfortable, the company was even better. And the fish were always there too. Fishing for Chinooks with Lacey in Astoria was outstanding. There were constant picture and video taking moments. Weve gone sturgeon fishing with Lacey for a few years now and shes amazing! Shes always working hard tying new bait to have it ready and keep our lines in the water as much as possible. Somehow she makes it all look easy too, even though its a lot of work.Lacey knows the lower Columbia waters like the back of her hand and consistently puts us on fish. Ive come to understand that knowing that water is not an easy thing... Between shifting tides and meandering sandbars, its a must to know the water there if youre going to be successful (not to mention not running aground). In the few years Ive gone, weve caught enough sturgeon that my arms feel like noodles for a few days after.On top of all this, shes amazing at keeping the boat fun and making sure were having a good time in general. Lacey will patiently coach first timers and expertly inform veteran anglers and anyone in between. I cant recommend her enough.

This was my first trip with Lacey, and what a day we had! Lacey worked hard for us (a boatload of fishy women) and we filled our boat while many others came up empty. On top of that, Lacey is so knowledgeable about fishing and the special places to hunt for salmon in the Buoy 10 fishery--and she is a wonderful teacher! Very patient and kind, and open to sharing her knowledge. I made new friends, and had such a fun time, I cant wait to fish with Lacey again! Highly, highly recommend.

Kevin and Lacey run amazing trips for sturgeon and other game fish... Went out yesterday with them for sturgeon and absolutely fought fish all day... Ended up with 5 green sturgeon and 20 white sturgeon.... All fish were released unharmed and in excellent condition to be caught again...I run a charter boat and on my days off, I fish with them... Late review here, but was just talking about the trip with some friends and remembered I owed Kevin an awesome review. We went out on a sturgeon trip just before the 4th of July and couldn’t stop catching fish even if we wanted to. Kevin had us on fish from the time we first anchored until we wrapped up for the day. It felt like at least half of the trip we had 3 fish on and 4 fish on once or twice. Great trip, even better guide!

Every year for the past year I take a grandchild for a special trip with their grandfather and grandmother. This year was Coles turn. He wanted fishing and motorcycles. The week before the adventure I was in Astoria visiting family and stopped by the marina to see where I would be catching the boat the following Monday with Cole. I met Kevins wife cleaning up the boat after a day of successful fishing and we talked. She told me she would be Coles and My guide on Monday. Turned out something changed and Kevin was our guide. What an experience, my Grandson had the time of his life. He didnt stop talking about it the rest of our trip. The equipment and professionalism were outstanding. The best part, the first cast of the grey cold morning was a 5 foot sturgeon and of course it was Coles, Kevin asked if he could do a live FB video of Cole catching his first sturgeon. I was able to call my daughter and shee was able to watch her son reel in his first 5 foot fish. Had a great time today and the boat limited out on Salmon. Kevin is a great guide and puts you on the fish. Loved the boat, as it is very comfortable and with 3 outboards, very fast. You don’t waist time getting to the hot spot so you cannot start fishing. This is not the first time I have fished with Kevin and will not be the last.

Had a couple fantastic trips with Kevin for tuna and Im 100% happy with my choice! Not only is he a great guy, he and his deckhand are fantastic teachers when learning all the right and wrong ways to fish tuna! Very patient and the fastest and most comfortable boat you will find. This review is long overdue as four of us went fishing with Kevin in late June. We all looked forward to our salmon fishing trip but the day before we were scheduled to fish Kevin called to say there was a small boat warning for the next day with strong winds and 5 foot seas expected. He said he was ready to go but we might want to consider rescheduling for the coming week. We took his advice and went the next week and were rewarded with sunshine, calm seas and good fishing. We limited mid morning and had a great time. The first time I spoke with Kevin and each time thereafter I always felt that he was committed to making sure that we were well cared for. He was professional at all times and runs a safety conscious, customer focused business. He is a seasoned skipper with good skills who will keep you safe and do all he can to see that you catch fish and have a great time. If you plan to fish in his neck of the woods do yourself a favor and book with Total Fisherman you will be glad you did.

Kevin and his crew well it’s was absolutely the best charter experience I have had I have been fishing well over 50 plus years 30 years out of my own boat and these guys put us on the fish like nobody ever has before way better than I do for myself witch I kinda hate to say I alway considered myself and my son to be 10 percenters. 10 percent of fisherman catch 90 percent of the fish. These guys At Totalfisherman went way beyond that. They gave my group the best experience ever and not only did they do beautiful job filleting the fish they vacuum packed them so all we had to do when we got home is put it the freezer so awesome. Fishing with Lacey DeWeert of Total Fisherman means spending a day on a floating fishing academy. She always shares new insight and is a great sport about answering our questions. And believe me, my friends and I have lots 🤓. Fishing with Lacey feels more like being out with a very knowledgeable and determined friend than a guided trip. I can’t recommend her enough; just not the second weekend in August because she’s already booked!

What a great trip! We went out with Kevin, on the Liberty Gun, for an early season tuna trip and it exceeded our expectations. The Liberty Gun is a top notch boat, super comfortable and one of the fastest in the fleet. Bean bag chairs were comfortable and a great option. All of the gear Kevin uses is top of the line stuff. No broom handle rods here, all Lamiglass. He spares no expense on gear, bait, ice, fuel. Kevin and his helper (Willy) found us fish and managed us through the crazy tuna rodeo! The care Kevin takes with the fish after caught is stellar too, he doesn’t overlook any detail. We are making this an annual trip!

What a blast I had with the total fisherman his boat was amazing. we were out to the salmon fishing grounds on the ocean almost before the theme to top gun was over being played on the stereo. His gear was top-notch his knowledge was even better. We were into the salmon as soon as our gear hit the water well not all of us I was that guy who just couldnt get them to the boat. I hate being a guy. But Kevin was extremely patient never lost his smile and we had a great day. Im looking forward to tuna fishing with him later this season. Oh yes... We eventually all took home limits.

My wife and I had the chance to fish with one of the best skippers around, Kevin Newell owner of Total Fisherman. We went on a combo rockfish, lingcod, and salmon trip. From the time you arrive at the meeting point Kevin is a true professional. Tells you what to expect for the day. When you step on the vessel Liberty Gun a beautifully maintained Yellowfin. The gear is top notch. We motored out to the fishing ground and immediately got into salmon. It didn’t take long for limits for everyone. My wife put a beating on the salmon. So it was off to the rockfish ground and again didn’t take long for limits. Now it’s on to the Lingcod; with Kevin’s knowledge, top notch electronics, he gets ya on the fish then it’s up to you to catch them and we did.... Kevin along with deckhand Will Martin they run a great boat .. I highly recommend “ Total Fisherman “. Kevin Newell. He runs several trips for different species from salmon , tuna , rockfish to sturgeon. Get out with Total Fisherman and you won’t be disappointed. Thanks again for a fantastic day!!

We caught fish, limits of salmon and then rock fish as well as crab.But what really matter is the time you spend with your crew and Captain and Kevin really shines. Teaching new techniques, telling fun stories.Best of all, it was my daughters first Ocean trip and he took special time and coaching with her to help her be successful.I am already looking for open days for my next trip.The boat is built for fishing and also for comfort during the run out.

Had an EPIC day tuna fishing. Kevin was awesome. We were on fish all day. He had all the right gear to switch up and keep catching when the fish werent wanting to cooperate. I highly recommend him for your next trip.

Kevin and Will were awesome! My experience from initial contact, booking and up to the day of fishing was excellent. Our trip was amazing, captain Kevin worked it as we moved around until we hit the right spot. The Tuna were boiling! We fished the spot for almost three hours straight until we were so gassed out with 41 Tuna in the boat caught on mostly live bait. I would highly recommend Total Fisherman! He has mad skills.

Absolutely fantastic experience! Kevin is a total pro! I have used several fishing guides all over the country in the last year and Kevin is simply one of the best. He had great communication throughout the process, was exceptionally prepared, had safe procedures, and had us on fish before he could even get all the rods out in the water! We caught sturgeon for two days solid! Honestly, we quit a little early because we were so dang tired from reeling in huge fish all day - our biggest topped 300 lbs. Kevin was also very patient/engaged with my 10 year old son and gave us lots of fishing education along the way. Looking forward to booking another trip just as soon as we are able!

Kevin is an expert fisherman! In a short period of time gave a group of 6 including me (a complete novice), the tools and techniques needed to successfully catch over a dozen fish, a few of which we had to release due fishing regulations that Kevin was thankfully quite familiar with. It was a fast and fun boat ride out to sea and I personally caught a coho salmon and a huge 22 pound chinook! They cleaned and packaged all the salmon for us and everyone left with lots of fresh fish!

Kevin was the best guide experience that I have had hands down. He and his deck hand were very kind, caring, cared about our safety, cared about teaching us how to fish, and most of all how to work together as a team and crew on the boat. The experience was like a family not even just as a team. The fishing was even better! I am a huge steelhead and salmon fisherman, but we went on his boat guiged for albacore tuna fishing. I can honestly say this was the best fishing of my lifetime as a fisherman, the experience was amazing, and the tuna fight like crazy. We had an amazing day catching but even if we didnt get all of the fish that we did I would have not even been disappointed one bit. Kevin was dedicated to us and he treated us like his own friends or family. He made sure we always had bait on our hooks and that we were in the water fishing properly. We ended up staying out later than planned because the fishing was amazing, he could have just headed back in but he made sure we enjoyed it while it was red hot. I cant say that other guides would stay out or care about their customers as much as he did! Kevin’s well-equipped and most comfortable boat.The boat is larger and faster than most boats operating. in this area.Kevins years of experience coupled with his depth of knowledge of how, when and where to fish resulted in catching fish and lots of them.My wife and I plan on fishing with Kevin again.
