What an amazing day! Jeff is a master at navigating the waters and finding the fish. Julie, hostess with the mostest, ran around making sure everyone was comfortable and that our lines were well baited and ready for the next fish. At the end of our successful day we were invited to their home where they cleaned, filleted and vacuum packed our catch. Definitely a 5 star day.

Jeff took me and another fisherman out to anchor for some salmon on the Columbia. We caught 4 nice salmon when none of the other 7 boats we could see even got a strike. He filleted our fish and shrink wrapped it for us. Hes an honest guy that really knows the local waters. I highly recommend him. You might also get to meet Julie, his significant other and registered deck hand. Shes a cool person and easy to talk to. Go fishing with Jeff!

Jeff and Julie are great. No nonsense fishing and we had a great time. Limited out in a few hours pulled up dinner crab pots and head a wonderful lunch. All the fish was cut and vacuum sealed for us and even had ice available for three trip home. You wont find a better guide in the area. Make sure you book ahead of time and give Jeff a call to get the info in your trip. We will be back.

I don’t believe we could have had a better fishing experience thanks to Jeff and Julie. Despite having what looked to be 200+ fishing boats out on the water, Jeff was able to put us on top of fish with 5 of the 6 people on the boat landing chinook salmon. We had one coho that was just 1/2” too short to keep and 3 other strikes that were able to break away. As a long time resident of Astoria, Jeff really knew the local waters and was able to find locations that didn’t have 100’s of other people looking for a catch. Jeff and Julie took our catch back to their home and filleted, processed and vac sealed our fish. They also gave us great advice on how to best transport our fish. Definitely one of those rare occurrences where you meet new people as strangers and leave as friends.

Fishing with Jeff and Julie was the absolute highlight of our trip on the Oregon coast. We put in on the Columbia and went through the “bar” into the Pacific to catch our limit of Coho Salmon and got a nice hall of crab as well. We saw seals and even caught a glimpse of some whales. The Astoria Fishing team clearly knew the waters better than anyone and was quick to change locations if it didn’t appear they would be fruitful. Coming from a family of fisherman and guides on the gulf coast, I can tell you that you won’t go wrong with this team. On top of being great guides, Jeff and Julie are genuine and kind people which made my 12 year old son’s first trip one he won’t forget. Thank you!! We can’t wait to return and go out again.

Fishing was perfect, we were really impressed about hospitality and how good they cook crabs. Extremely positive experience. Definitely recommend these guys if you are planning ocean fishing.

Went out with Jeff and Julie yesterday and what an amazing day! We started in the river as the ocean was not predicted to be fishable. First thing was safety instructions and fitting of lifejackets. As soon as we were on the river Jeff shared a wealth of knowledge about Astoria, the Columbia, and the B-10 fishery. We started the day on the WA side of the river and after about 1/2 hour when we did not see fish getting caught we moved. Having fished the B-10 area before I really enjoyed that Jeff kept moving to find the fish instead of just staying in one area and trying to grind it out. Once we heard the ocean was open it was out to the Big Blue. As soon as we dropped our gear we were in fish! From there we kept getting double hook ups, and within a few hours had our 6 fish. Jeff and Julie made a great team on the boat and stayed calm as the 3 of us customers tangled lines, and lost a few fish. On the way back in we picked up some crab pots and ended with 30+ crab to go with our salmon. Jeff even cooked the crab in his special brine which has amazing flavor! I cant wait for my next trip(springer season next year) and would highly recommend these guys!

Amazing guide service. We have used many guides but extremely impressed with Jeff and Julie. Jeff was very honest with us and told us the salmon were not biting very good at our location and we limited out on bottom fish instead. Also limited out with huge crab. We had a great day fishing and crabbing with Jeff & his deckhand, Julie. They were friendly, helpful and relaxed. Being a beginner I was concerned about not knowing what to do but Jeff was calm and patient. Seriously, of the half dozen times I’ve done fishing charters, this was the best! I would highly recommend Jeff as your captain and guide.

One of the best trips I have ever been, Jeff and Julia were absolutely the best hosts, they went way beyond what a typical service does, very friendly, they cooked our crab and let us dine with them at the fire side, while filleting our all of our salmon. Jeff was very knowledgeable about his trade, and shared some of his tricks, and Julia made sure we were comfortable and stayed dry by providing us with rain gear. Truly a great trip, and I plan to use them more in the future.

Jeff was a fantastic guide. We did catch & release sturgeon. He and Julie were very calm & patient with me and my teenaged sons (we are not experienced fisherman). He found the fish quickly and we caught between 30 and 40 over the 8 hrs we were on the water. Very friendly, responds quickly to questions while booking. Would definitely book with him again. If you are staying overnight in Astoria, ask him where to stay-he can help with discounts.

My daughter and I booked a trip with Jeff and Julie in late May of 2020. We were met at the Marina on time and ready to go. The boat was very nice and we enjoyed the wild ride across the bar going out of Astoria. We reached the fishing grounds after a short scenic trip and began fishing. The fun began! We hooked up ling cod, sea bass and several other species of fish, then moved on to the next hot spot. The fishing was exceptional, however Jeff and Julie made the trip unforgettable. They were beyond friendly and went above and beyond in every way. If you are coming to the Astoria area, book with Astoria fishing charters, you wont regret it!

Jeff and Julie are so cool and amazing and patient! Everyone caught a fish and they shared their crab with us from the crab pots! Our safety was first, rules followed to the letter. My wife and I enjoyed the other guests on the boat and have many wonderful memories, photos and delicious food for later! I cant wait to go again!!!!

Jeff and Julie make a great team. Jeff kept looking for fish as conditions changed, and Julie kept the lines in the water. My wife reeled in 8 by nice fish but only one keeper, and I managed three fish with two keepers. It was a slow day, but Jeff and Julie stayed out all day looking for those fish. Jeff and Julie were honest, friendly, and knowledgeable. Jeff helped facilitate a great getaway trip in fishing by expertly piloting the boat to the schools of biting fish. He also offered his expertise in what type of fishing trip we should pick to maximize our experience. Julie ensured we always had the max allotment of poles in the water, while also helping pull in our catch. We chartered a bottom fishing excursion, and were able to catch our limit in just 3 hours. Thanks for a legendary fishing trip...we wouldnt have wanted it any other way!

Just got home from a nice morning of fishing with Jeff! we were a little late getting out to the boat but that didnt seem to matter. We went to one spot and Jeff talked with us about his technique. We had one take down (in the first 20min) but no fish. He told us the weather was not right for this spot and moved to a different spot. We got the next spot and he got our rods ready telling us all his secrets about how he does what he does and why. Within the hour myself and my buddy both had a beautiful Chinook salmon on board two keepers in an hour!! He shared why his method work so well and I asked dont you want to keep this a secret he said no if he can help people enjoy fishing better and give them some techniques to enjoy it more and catch more fish he has done his job! This guide is the best I have ever been with and I recommend him to anyone. he does small personal trips and is willing to share his experience with you. Best day of fishing to date!! Thanks Jeff.

I talked to several charters in my search to go salmon fishing this fall. Jeff was the most honest, knowledgable and straightforward in answering my questions, even when the answers werent that positive about the fishing prospect. When fishing looked up, he worked to find a day to get me in his schedule. Unfortunately, they closed the Columbia for Salmon the day before our trip and we didnt get to go. Though I never got out on his boat, I greatly appreciated his honest help and knowledge and hope to get the chance to fish with him someday.

Took my brother in law out for some bottom fishing and crabbing in early October. Jeff said we would limit out and be back by 11 and sure enough that is exactly what happened! Jeff is knowledgeable, friendly, hard working and is excellent at communicating. He helped us find the best places to process our fish and crab post fishing. Highly recommended!

After having a tour cancel on us, my friend and I were sent to the pier to see if another company could take us out on the water. It was 5 pm and Jeff took us out graciously. He went above and beyond and we were grateful that the other tour cancelled because we met Jeff and his cool dog Rockford :) thanks for the great memories Jeff!!!

The fishing charter was a present for my husbands 65th birthday. His best friend and 2 of our sons went with. They are still talking about what a great time they had and how Jeff was the best guide ever. This is a must go on charter. Jeff is the best.

Jeff worked incredibly hard on what was a slow fishing day. We maybe tried 15 fishings spots, tried a multitude of different baits and even fished for 2hrs extra! We where rewarded with two nice Sturgeon at the end of the charter. I couldnt be happier!Thankyou Jeff for all your knowledge and effort!!!

Me and a buddy went out ocean salmon fishing on 7/12/19 with jeff and julie and really enjoyed our experience. It went pretty slow in the morning trying to find the fish because of strong winds the past couple days but jeff used his knowledge and got us on the hot bite and where no one else was.limited out the group of 5 and jeff and julie got 3 more while getting ready to head back.amazing to see so many rods going off at the same time.got back to the dock by 1130 and was suprised to hear we were the first to limit out with a group larger than 2.apparently other people had a hard time finding the salmon.i give jeff an A + for this experience

Jeff got me and my daughter on some huge sturgeon. What an amazing trip with a guide that made the experience amazing.

Friendly guy, nice boat, comfy seats, only downside is a lack of shelter - to be expected on a boat this size and design. The fish werent really biting, but he knew all the places to look until we caught our limit of sea bass and crabs.

Jeff went above and beyond! We had a great time! When at first we were not getting as many crabs as he would have liked, he took the extra time to throw all the pots in again. We ended the trip with lots of crab! He steamed them had a beer with us and we learned alot about fishing, the area and him. He even lent us his cooler to take the crab back to our hotel. Would definitely recommend him!! Good times!

This was my second year in a row going out salmon fishing with Jeff and Julie, had a blast as usual! Caught 2 Coho Salmon, and walked away with my limit on crab too! They cook the crab for you in a huuuge pot at there home. Then they clean and package up the fish for you. Awesome people! Couldnt be happier with their hospitality and service! Thanks guys!
