Brought it in for what I thought was a power steering leak but turned out to be more. They did a very thorough inspection to see if there was anything else wrong with it since I was planning on driving it cross country and found something else that might have left me stranded in the middle of the country. Very professional, Good and friendly service and accurate price quotes. Would definitely go there again and would recommend it to others.

Excellent! I already knew that my left taillight and rear brakes needed to be replaced. But Joey (owner) suggested that my tires would perform better if I increased pressure from 32 lbs (as recommended by both car and tire mfr) to 35 lbs. He was right! This really is the best mechanic in the DMV area. Way back when I was a broke kid out of college, I brought my car in after the dealership wanted to clean out my bank account to do some minor repairs. Joe walked me through what can be done now and what can wait and then charged way less than any other place around. Ive trusted him ever since and only recently made the mistake of going somewhere else to have some work done. This other place wanted to charge me so much for this work, so I called Joe to get his thoughts, and sure enough he responded with explaining theres a possibility that the work wasnt even necessary because the particular year for my car had some quarks and the maker acknowledged them. I really appreciate how he keeps up-to-date knowledge on these things and is honest with me.

They kept my car for three days to find out why my A/C didnt work (2000 BMW) and they drove it. No problem found--no charge-- and the A/C has worked fine ever since. They are honest and thorough.

Ive been taking my car to Baird for a few years...and now my wife is taking hers there as well. The one thing you need most when selecting a mechanic...is trust. Trusting the business to begin working on your vehicle when they say they will...and finishing when they say they will. Trusting that the owner wont try to sell you on needless repairs. Trust in the mechanics to do a good job...and certainly trust in the business...to stand behind their work. Youll check all of these points off the list at Baird. Ive had minor work done at Baird...and a few major repairs as well. Outstanding service and extremely satisfied! This is the only shop that will work on our vehicles.

This is one of those rare reviews Im reluctant to give... Baird is great for all the right reasons. When something is wrong they fix it, but when nothing is really wrong, they dont over sell something you dont need - otherwise known as an honest mechanic. Theyre rare, and the only downside of the good work is they are super busy and an appointment is a must. Thus, my reluctance.... they deserve the awesome review but do I really want to share? Sigh. Yes.

Took in my Volvo 850 for a tuneup. Service was professional and inexpensive, with no surprises. This is one of the few mechanics in the area that wont take you for a ride (unlike those knuckleheads at Merchants). They even brought my car next door for an inspection. One tip: dont go in without a reservation. Theyre very popular in the area and thus will take a day or two to get to your car. Since their parking lot is small, I suspect they would prefer that you not leave your car there for that long.

I used Baird Automotive for about a decade (about 1998-2008) when I lived in Georgetown in DC. They did all the routine maintenance on my cars (such as lights, brakes, timing belts, etc.). They were completely reliable and reasonably and fairly priced. In 2008 I moved to the Eastern Shore of MD where I now live.Last month I was driving via DC to North Carolina when my car began to make an unusual noise. I first panicked but decided to take it to Baird to see if they would fit me in and find out if it was serious. I went there, encountered the same guy who used to manage my service (Mr. Baird?), who said I should wait a few minutes. I did, then he came back, and we went for a ride, with him driving my car. He came back to the garage, told me to wait in the waiting area and put the car on a lift.About 20 minutes later he came back and said the noise was not serious and I could continue the trip. When I asked him for a bill, he said it was on the house. I insisted and he resisted. I finally put two $20s on the counter and said to give them to the other mechanics for lunch. He laughed and said OK and I left. Now how many garages would do that for you when they know there was little or no chance for contunuing business from somebody? But that was consistent with the service I always had gotten from Baird,

I was very impressed by the questions they asked to get to the root of the problem, and their willingness to help an engaged customer who admittedly isnt a mechanic. Ill go to them again when I have the need, and encourage others as well.

Terrible. Stay away. I picked up my car in worse condition than I dropped it off. The mechanic I dealt with had absolutely no automotive performance knowledge..They told me it was ready so I picked it up and went for a drive. I noticed it felt really off and kind of erratic under throttle and then I broke down on the side of the highway. Got my car home on a tow truck and left a long voicemail for Baird Automotive. NO ONE GOT BACK TO ME! Left me in the dark. I also found out they charged me triple (yes thats right triple, not double) for the parts they installed.

Honest and good. Hard to beat.
