From the time we arrived with our cat the staff was very nice and concerned for our fur baby as well as us. The Dr. was honest with us about our fur babys condition. She was very caring. If anyone has an emergency with their fur baby this is the place to take them. They will get the love from the staff that they need while being separated from their mom and/or dad. Thank you to the staff for being so caring

I literally cannot give this place enough praise. They helped my cat after he got in a bad fight with one of my dogs out of the blue. They kept me updated on him and gave clear instructions on when and how to give his medications. The staff was friendly and understanding. Kitty is home and recovering just fine btw. If I have another pet emergency in the future this is the place I would go.

We needed to let our precious Sequoia Rain go the staff there was very compassionate and understanding brought us right back to a private room allowed us to have as much time as needed and then allowed my wife to hold our puppy as you supposed to sleep. The staff made sure all of the arrangements were made sent a wonderful card and made a beautiful paw print plaque for us to remember her by. If you are ever in need of emergency care for your beloved pet BluePearl Pet Hospital is the place to go.

Last week I had to transport my lab from Green Bay clinic to Appleton due to a complex fracture of his back leg for surgery the following morning. The hospital was very good about keeping me in the loop on what was going on and what to expect even though I would have preferred a few more updates but I understand they can not sit on the phone all day with owners. The text they send that your pet is going into surgery is also nice to so that as an owner you are aware of what is going on. The clinic has also been amazing in fitting me in for post-op visits and bandage changes. Also a few days after having him home, I felt the bandage had shifted and did not want to rush in right away but called for verification on what I should be on the look out for and the staff allowed me to send a picture via email for the doctor to review to ensure everything was okay before I drove over an hour. Overall, this vet has been great for us!

To start off, I was very happy with the surgeon and the nurses I spoke with. They were very patient and helped me feel at ease with the whole process. The front desk people and the night vet left A LOT to be desired. The night vet had zero bedside manner when discussing what was wrong and what was needed for my pet to feel better, and focused almost solely on the cost, and did very little to calm me down in such a stressful situation. The front desk person was very rude when I called with a couple of questions upon my return home with my pet, and just kept saying “you’re more than welcome to bring them back in” instead of listening and addressing my questions. Frankly, I expected better.Overall, it’s very expensive, but that is to be expected. I would go back again, but I will lodge a complaint if the receptionist treats me like that again.

Since BluePearl took over this hospital, we have had very positive experiences here. Our Staffie, Ezra, is seen regularly by the dermatologist, Dr. Graham, and her wonderful tech, Megan. We have also sought emergency care here and were very pleased with the staff from the front desk all the way to the surgeon. We felt well-informed on the variety of treatment options that were presented and communication was excellent throughout Ezras stay.

Our dear Liberty had congestive heart failure and had to be put to sleep two weeks ago. I was in a car on the highway (not driving) and I spent 20 minutes on the phone (after 15 on hold) explaining to someone that I wanted to pick up her ashes. They assured me they had the info down and directed me on how to pay the extra expense, which I paid on line that same day. Then, we get a call yesterday that they cremated our little girl with a group and we are not getting her back!!! I get that they felt bad about this, but theyve done nothing for us in return. How about a credit on our bill?? Nope. They offered to make us a stone for her, but wed already done that and what are we supposed to do with it now? I am so angry and hurt by their incompetence. Liberty was a rescue dog. We only had her for 5 years, our home was the only place on earth she felt safe!! I wish I could say Id never use their services again, but with all the vets in the area have such poor emergency service, Im sure we will be forced to.

Had to go here last weekend at 10pm. The receptionist was nothing but rude. If you dont have pet insurance this place will about bankrupt you. Very little compassion from anyone! I get its the only Vet open 24-7 but there is no need for rudeness. The doctor and tech were ok No complaints but the heavier receptionist with the blond hair and glasses needs a different job. Also expected us to wait in the parking lot when we had a child at home. Called me at 1am to pick up our pet. Just ridiculous!

On friday my boyfriend and i took our dog in at noon because he had bloody bms, they told us that it would take an hour or so to get him checked and that the vet would call us. 2 hours go by and don’t receive a call, so we called and asked how our dog was and they told us that he wasn’t being checked yet. we called again at 4:30 and they said that he was “next in line” to get checked, the vet called us after the last call and told us that he was ok(other information as well) and that we only be waiting an hour for his medicine. we waited LONGER than hour, we went in to go see what was going on, and the receptionist said that it’s taking long because they have bigger emergencies to take care of, and told us that they’d help other dogs with major emergencies before mine, (which we understand but we went in because our dog was also having an emergency) so we felt as if our dog was just pushed aside. we went inside to pay, and they called our dog to be given to us but it took them an hour just to bring him out, then the tall bigger lady with the glasses blonde told me again that there are other dogs that needed to be seen before they bring me my dog. I told her that i was told he would be out shortly, and she degraded my dog once again. We will never go to Blue Pearl again, period.I wish I could rate this place a 0 because that’s what they deserve.

DISHONEST!!! We brought our bunny in because he had a cough and they said he would be out in about 10-15 minutes because they were not backed up. I wanted to kill time while we waited but the vet insisted that we wait there because it would not take long. After waiting a half hour I went inside to see what was taking so long. I was a little upset because I specifically asked if it was going to be longer than a half hour, we wouldn’t wait there. they assured me it would not be that long. They said they looked at her and it wasn’t critical but they had to look at her again. After another hour I got a call saying out bunny is ready to be picked up. We waited ANOTHER 30 minutes before being able to take her home. All this waiting was because the bunny has a cold… HORRIBLE Customer service. Would not have had a problem with the time frame if they were at least honest about it.

My dog is in pain and something is wrong and they turned him away! What horrible people. They say they care about animals what a bunch of lies!! The lady was rude when she told us too. Dont know how to show any compassion? It may just be a dog to you but he is our family. I asked her just to look in his ear and she said she would have to sedate him first so he didnt bite her. Over the weekend our senior dog was experiencing continued diarrhea and vomiting. He ended up having a severe case of gastroenteritis. Our regular vet would not accommodate us, even though they were open until 3pm Saturday. Our dog wasnt going to make it to Monday, so I called Blue Pearl in Appleton, WI. They said come right in and warned us about the 3-6 hour wait. They were waiting for us and since we came at a good time, triaged him and took him right back. We waited in our car, which I prefer anyway. After a while, Dr. Erickson called and updated us. I love her. She suggested only tests that were necessary. A while later, she called again to give us test results. A couple hours later, our dog walked out looking 500% better than when we took him in. I have nothing but praise for this experience. Yes, it took 4.5 hours, but they warned us and it is emergency care after all. Very VERY impressed. Very clean facility and friendly people. I am happy to know they are there for future needs.

They are also great in the fact that they will tell you the cost of a procedure before they do it, so you can opt out of it if you prefer. Very caring staff, and very caring veterinarian, they went above and beyond to make sure that we were comfortable, updated and cared for. This place is horrible, doesn’t have good service, nobody knows how to answer their phones, and lastly doesn’t know how to treat a dog properly.. I wasted almost $300 dollars on my 7 week year old puppy, and didn’t even get the right answers.. called this place because my dog wouldn’t eat, had the runs, and kept vomiting. We told them we wanted her to get tested for Parvo, and the test came back negative. They told us they were gonna run some tests, and we agreed to do whatever they needed to figure out what was wrong with her.. They gave our dog 5 different medications, and told us “she was a very healthy dog” 3 days later we ended up calling our primary vet because her symptoms kept getting worse… We went to our normal vet, and found out she had Coccidia! I wasted almost $300 for a dog that wasn’t even treated for the right thing.. This place is terrible. When I called to complain I couldn’t get thru, everyone was rude, and supposedly they did “the right treatment” don’t waste your money on them, they ain’t worth your time!

The interaction between the service desk and customer was awful. Wendy the secretary was very inpatient and almost rude upon my arrival. First because I didnt make a appointment, (its EMERGENCY CARE) who makes appointments with the emergency room? Secondly because I asked for other emergency veterinary offices in the area because I wanted to ask about pricing because if you have ever been in that position you know that emergency vets and very expensive. She made it seem like I wasnt concerned about my animals wellbeing because I dont have unlimited financial resources. I then asked if I could go with my pet for the initial examination and then she proceeded to almost shame me for even considering going with him during the current covid-19 situation. After I agreed to have him treated there without me being present the actual veterinarian was great, she was helpful in answering all questions I had and addressing concerns that came up. The medical treatment that my dog received was very good and I am thankful for that. However the problems didnt come to an end there. The next day I called to ask about the wound care and re-bandaging because I was not sent home with any instructions other than medication dosages. They vehemently advised me that I was to come back every day and have that taken care of by a technician (which of course would be $135.00 every day for 2 weeks for their fee) thats $1890.00 dollars to change bandages! When I said that I can change the dressing myself the technician was not interested in helping me with any instructions, only repeated herself in recommending that I return daily. I then went to Walgreens and spoke with the pharmacist who was happy to suggest the process of proper wound care and also helped me get the correct gauze and packaging for the whole process. So besides the good veterinarian who treated my dog, my experience with BluePearl pet hospital was awful its frightening when youre pet is injured and the last thing you need is staff who is judgmental and abrasive... worst customer service ever! If you are able to, go to Madison emergency veterinary or anywhere else other than here... never again!!!

Several years ago, we brought our dog in because she seemed uncomfortable in her back half, didn’t want to walk etc. the vet there told us nothing was wrong, and it was “probably just her hair growing back around her butt irritating her” (she’s a Pom, so she gets that area trimmed to keep it clean and has her entire life without issue.) I knew that wasn’t it so I took her to another vet the next day, who determined she injured her back (IVDD) and needed some meds and rest.I just tried to take my cat there because she’s been extremely lethargic and won’t open her eyes, and they declined to see us because they’re “only seeing life threatening cases right now.”Completely useless, unhelpful, and frustrating. How do you determine if it’s a life threatening issue without even trying to ask a question or act like you care??If you have any other option, don’t go here.

I feel like they killed my 5 year old, otherwise completely healthy cat. Let me tell you why I feel this way. I brought him in on a Thursday after being referred there from the Green Bay Blue Pearl Animal Hospital (because they could not do the surgery my cat needed). This was an emergency surgery since he had a bowel obstruction and I was told I needed to hand him off and wait in the car (or leave) and they would call me after they get to him for the consultation. The surgery wouldnt be performed until hours later due to availability. I felt some of the staff had very little compassion for my sadness. He was my heart kitty. He was a Blue Tabby Birman Purebred. I got very little consultation and their communication process is appalling. They need to give better consideration and take more time to talk with owners (mine was ONLY OVER THE PHONE- when you want it to be face to face) prior to doing procedures and giving medications. I simply got a text stating Your cat is heading in to surgery now and it was a no reply text. THESE ARE OUR FAMILY. I thought they would have known that Ketamine anesthesia is lethal to purebred Birmans (and ragdolls for that matter). But they gave him Ketamine without discussing it with me. He didnt wake up from the anesthesia and they gave him a reversal medication but my baby never recovered. How can animal professionals not know that Ketamine shouldnt be used?! If they would have used a different anesthesia and not had to totally drug him up after with the procedure, I believe with 100% certainty that he would have come out on the other side. It was a single concern with no complications during the surgery and the item was completely removed without any problem. I am beyond heartbroken and in the end they charged me $5,500 and called me to tell me that it would be an additional $800-$1200 PER DAY to treat him so I had to make a decision. All that money and we lost him anyway. They make sure you pay before you leave with your dead pet too. I wish I could give less than one star. The two exceptions I felt that cared and listened to me were Dr. Leonard and Dr. VendeHey who took care of him in his final days (after the surgery).

I was referred here by my primary vet. I drove three hours and upon arrival, they were ready to take my puppy in. He needed emergency surgery due to swallowing a sewing needle. From the receptionist to every vet tech, Vet & surgeon, everyone was beyond nice. The facility is beautiful & clean! The staff are phenomenal & have so much compassion for their job. Everyone was thorough and upfront about what to expect. The surgeon himself called me to update right after surgery. They said I could call anytime. I ended up calling at 11 and got through right away. You can call 24/7 and check up. Ive never been so pleased with my dogs care!! Be sure to have a check or credit card with you when you go, they also take credit care.

Our dog, Henry, became very sick in January and we brought him to BluePearl to get him some help. At that point, we had already been working with our primary vet for a couple of months trying to resolve a nasty infection on his leg which was continuing to get worse. When we brought him to BluePearl, they recommended running some tests and we eventually decided to have him hospitalized. He stayed at BluePearl for a few days. We were very worried while he stayed there not only because he was so sick but because Henry gets stressed out very easily and is not comfortable with strangers. We received his test results a few days after his hospital stay and it was not good news; Henry was diagnosed with cancer. Since then, Henry has been seeing an oncologist and dermatologist from another practice a couple hours away but we have also been using BluePearl’s services when we can because of the distance. We have probably visited BluePearl 15+ times since January so if anyone can give a legitimate review of this place, I think it’s me. We have worked with many receptionists, vet techs and veterinarians at this location in the last three months and every last person we have worked with has been wonderful. Their team of veterinarians has been incredibly knowledgeable and honest through this whole process. The amount of care, empathy and patience the staff showed our little family will never be forgotten.Things to note: They see patients based on how critical they are so you may have to wait longer than at your primary vet. The services they provide can be pricey just like all veterinary care but they try to give you accurate estimates as they go. With COVID, you can’t always go to the room with your pet and that stinks - but know that they are taking very good care of your pet inside and will call you with updates or if there are any issues/concerns.Thank you to everyone at BluePearl in Appleton for helping Henry and us through this difficult time!

My small dog blew out her crucible ligament. I was referred there by our local emergency vet. Drove down, had a consult with the vet, advised they could do the surgery and gave me an open quote of $3400 to $4200; not itemized. Scheduled the surgery and drove the two hours back home. Drove down early in the morning of surgery dropped my dog off drove two hours back again and at two in the afternoon they finally called me to tell me they couldn’t perform the surgery because the veterinarian that I had the consult with said he needed to do more calculations. He advised that the x-rays from the emergency vet were off, and when he did his own just prior to surgery he felt he needed to do two procedures. They told me to come down and pick up the dog they would reschedule the surgery. When I picked up my dog she looked terrible , they had already put her under, they did the x-rays and bloodwork. So they had her all prepped and ready to go into surgery and then he decided he couldn’t do the surgery. They charged me $900 and he did absolutely nothing. Me another estimate, of $3600 to $4200 after paying $900. I was so distraught I went back to my emergency vet and he recommended Madison emergency care. I took my dog to Madison and met with them. They advised they could do the two procedures the vet in Appleton recommended. Scheduled the surgery and the day of the surgery I received a call from the veterinarian at Madison emergency, he advised he only had to do the one original procedure. He did his calculations and they were way off from the calculations of the vet in Appleton. So he brought in a colleague who did some calculations and they matched with his were. Then he looked at the x-rays from my local emergency vet and their x-rays and calculations matched the emergency vet. He advised that he cannot figure out how the emergency vet in Appleton got his numbers. Madison actually gave me a refund because this procedure was less complicated than what Appleton had suggested. This was almost 2 years ago and my dog is doing excellent. The staff and the veterinarian at Madison were the best I have ever seen. I called Appleton and asked for a partial refund and explain that three Vets had the same conclusion that was completely different than their vet had. The office manager is one of the most rude women I have ever met. She refused any kind of a refund. A procedure that should’ve cost $3200 ended up costing me over 5000 because of the incompetence at the Appleton emergency vet. I now have noted that the veterinarian I dealt with at the time does not seem to be employed there anymore.

Normally don’t do this to start off with. I leave for vacation on the 28th of April and my cat has symptoms of a UTI. He had one 4 years earlier and ended up very sick. I call his normal vet 2 days ago and could not get an appointment until September. They told me to call here and get an appointment. I set one up for today and we got him there. We got there and brought him in and we went over all of the paperwork. The assistant then told us she would be right back, when she returned and told he was not an emergency. Then told us to call our normal vet again. We want to treat him before gets really sick again, but they obviously do not care. They are more concerned with the money they make instead caring for all animals. Greed, this completely disgusting and disheartening. I would never recommend them to anyone!!!

My cat was throwing up night before and just as we thought it was over he started to throw up next day. County view was too busy so they referred us here. I was hesitant because I know they are expensive. However my pets are everything to me so I took him over immediately. The staff of amazing and very professional. Dr. Graham kept me well informed of what was going on in terms of testing. This is a wonderful place that I highly recommend if you have a pet emergency.

1 star only because 0 isnt an option. I first took my baby girl in for respiratory issues that I TOLD them basically appeared overnight.instead of bringing in a diagnostician they sent in a surgeon on the assumption that she needed a $4000 brachycephalic surgery because she was a bulldoggeWithin 24 hours I told them they assumed incorrectly and that their surgery fixed NOTHING!! Instead of calling me back in to do the right thing and correct their mistake and help my baby girl I was told for approximately another $2,000 they would do a sedated CT and see if they could find the problem (which of course would entail MORE $$ to then correct the problem)While I worked to gain more money my girl continually experienced bouts of aspiration pneumonia and respiratory issues. Finally I was ready, I brought her in as she faced another bout of aspiration pneumonia. When I brought her there she had normal rate and rhythm. Spoke to vet in middle of the night to get to get her past history. I requested and was DENIED visitation.9 am was told she needed hi flow oxygen but hadnt started during the night because they needed approval for the extra $800. Uhm really?? Number 1 I had written another $3000 check for downpayment on her projected care and Number 2 most importantly I Spoke to a vet IN PERSON around 3 am and no permission was asked of me!! (I brought her in for respiratory issues) her rate of respiration was high again at 9 am. I asked AGAIN to visit ( because my presence calms her) and AGAIN was denied. The vet said they would get started right away and I could visit around 1 pm.At 10:34 I received a phone call (I was sitting in parking lot refusing to leave my girl) telling me she had gone into cardiac arrest as they were getting ready to start hi flow (over an hour later??). I shocked them by saying Id be inside within a minute.I burst into the back area without being let in. What I saw was something no loved one should ever see! It was like a TV version of life saving measures! My baby was clearly dead long before then. (I work in medical field but anybody with eyes could tell she had been dead awhile) And of course they lied about everything!Did I mention on that 9 am phone call the critical care vet actually LISTENED to what I had been saying for MONTHS and stated that the problem sounded like it was a hiatal hernia ALL ALONG and once they had her breathing issues back on track theyd scope to confirm it!! I lost my baby, my world because THEY CHARGED ME $3500 TO OPERATE ON THE WRONG END BASED ON AN ASSUMPTION AND I LOST HER!! Worst part is they dont give a flying .... fig!! And would charge me more if they could figure out a way!!Save your beloved family member (and money) and go BASICALLY ANYWHERE BUT HERE!!If she were 2 legged youd be charged with manslaughter!! The most appalling part is that even a MANAGER of the facility knows what/where/how they killed her (over sedation on a compromised respiratory system) and completely neglecting the oxygen requirements needed (thats why we were there) to be able to regain control of her breathing. Not to mention charging me over $3500 for an unnecessary surgery done based solely on ASSUMPTION! AND missing the surgery she ACTUALLY needed! She suffered for months! as her oxygen needs were still being ignored a diagnostician LISTENED to me and realized what her issue had been this whole time and said wed get her fixed up as soon as her breathing was under control (again admitting she STILL DESPERATELY NEEDED support 13 THIRTEEN HOURS AFTER ADMISSION and still was Not receiving it!)The 13th hour my baby girl DIED ALONE IN UNNECESSARY DISTRESS ON HER 1ST FIRST BIRTHDAY) Let that soak in!!I LOVE YOU and am so sorry!1 yr later start getting them to the rating they deserve! Havent forgotten about you FVARC. Dont forget me because I WILL find someone to listen and not let you get away with this travesty!

Im So Very Pleased And Grateful!I cant thank Dr. Bruce and everyone at the Animal Referral Hospital enough for helping our little Marla. She is a Pectus Excavatum (funnel chest) cat.Dr. Bruce trained with the doctor who developed the procedure that was performed and I felt very comfortable with his skills. He explained my options clearly and I never felt pressured to do anything.Pricing was very reasonable for my services. They were explained clearly. Everything fell within what I was told (we had no complications, so that was a factor as well). They also kept my regular vet informed of everything that was going on.My daughter has used this hospital for her dog and was pleased. This is why I chose them. I drove 2 hours one way to take Marla here and I am so so happy we did it! I highly recommend them to anyone!

We brought our dog in after he was “attacked” by an unleashed dog during a walk. Everyone was polite, professional, and made us feel at ease. For emergency services, we thought the price was very reasonable and well communicated to us. If we were to have another pet emergency, we would not hesitate to bring our dog here again.

I hope this helps others who find themselves in the position of where they love their pet so much, but cant afford or will put themselves into debt when the unexpected costs of pet care strike. My vet in green bay found a lump in our dog’s abdominal area. They performed an exploratory surgery, ultra sounds, x-rays, biopsy and much more and determined it to be an enlarged lymph node that was non-cancerous. We were refereed to BluePearl or the UW Veterinary Clinic to have the lymph node removed out of precaution and the vet in green bay did not feel comfortable removing it due to its location. We chose BluePearl due to its distance to us. We paid $140 for the surgical consultation and drove 2 hours to Bluepearl. Got the phone call from the surgeon who thinks based on what he felt externally that it is cancer despite lab results and what our vet said. I asked Bluepearls surgeon if he had contacted our surgeon who opened her up what he thought based on literally holding it in his hand. He said he does NOT do that. My thoughts on that are, why wouldnt he want to know what the surgeon who saw it first-hand thought about his prognosis of it possibly being cancer just from feeling it externally despite all other results?! Bluepearls surgeon now said our dog needed a CT scan and quoted us $2500 to do so. I said I could not afford that and was here for consult on just the surgery to have it removed and I preferred to just have it removed then we can have it tested again if need be as my vet in green bay suggested. He would NOT do anything without the $2500 CT scan then surgery started at $3500. That is $6000 minimum UP FRONT, there is no payment plan options it is cash or credit or no service. Now when I called them to set up this appointment I asked about costs and they played stupid with me acting like it wouldnt cost me my arm and my leg. After voicing my concern about the costs I told them I wished that they would speak with the surgeon and vet in green bay and BluePearl REFUSED to. I told them no to the surgery as I would look elsewhere (thank GOD I did) as I could not afford it. They told me I could come get my dog, so I told them I was on my way and in 10/15minutes I’d be there. Five minutes after I hung up with them they called me asking where I was and made it seem like it was such an inconvenience for them that I did not wait in my car in the parking lot even though I told them at check-in that I had my daughter with and even ASKED if I could leave the parking lot to get her something to eat/drink with which the receptionist replied that it was no problem the appointment would take 45minutes to an hour and they would be calling with updates anyways. I did talk to the manager at BluePearl who was going to speak to the surgeon about his unprofessionalism on the phone and refusing to talk to my vet in green bay. Her words made it seem like she cared, but her attitude said the opposite. She was supposed to get back to me with an update, but she never did, surprise surprise. I wasted $140 that could have went to having her lymph node removed on a 5 minute surgery consult with Bluepearl. To sum it up....BLUEPEARL DOES NOT CARE ABOUT YOUR ANIMALS, THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THE MONEY THEY MAKE OFF YOUR ANIMALS!I did end up calling several advanced and board certified vets around Wisconsin and found MANY that did not require the CT scan (their CT scan costs were $800-$1000 too) as they believed the lab results and imaging the green bay vet did were enough to have it removed. Many of them could not believe the costs that I was quoted at BluePearl. I would highly suggest to make appointments with the Madison Veterinary Specialists or the UW Veterinary Clinic as their costs for surgeries and imaging (UW Veterinary Clinic was cheapest at $800 for a CT scan) were half the cost of BluePearl, well worth the extra drive for me! They did not require any extra imaging based on what my vet in green bay had already done too. They both were caring and willing to work with you and your vet to provide the best care!
