Excellent food with good portions at a great price. The pork chops and fried okra were goood! Great friendly staff! I was staying in the hotel next door and glad this was so close by. I got the turkey bacon sandwich the next day and it was delicious!

1/2 lb patty melt was great. All the servers seemed happy, and the food was outstanding. The fall charm inside was cute.

We had breakfast here after an overnight stay at the adjacent Motel 6 (which was great). Service was fantastic! Plenty of room, so no one was crowded or cramped. There were a plethora of breakfast options (breakfast served all day b/t/w). I had the No. 1 (I think)...eggs, hash browns, 2 sausage patties, biscuits and gravy...wow! My wife had the pancake breakfast and she loved it! Lots of pancakes on her plate with plenty of syrup in the side. Super filling and tasty as well. The sausage patties were the weak point here, really thin and not a lot to them. But overall a really tasty way to start our day. The service ladies visited our table several times to make sure everything was fine and were very attentive and courteous.The pie/cake display looked totally delicious too (although we didnt sample them this visit).I was so hungry, I forgot to take photos, but thats ok. It was great!Definitely worth the visit! Great eats, great service and really reasonable prices!

Ive eaten here on average every two weeks for the last year and I have yet to get anything bad. Service is always good and the food is excellent. Whether it is an omelet, chicken fried steak, Rueben sandwich, french dip, everything has been good. The Bourbon Hamburger Steak is great. Why spend $11 to eat fast food when you can eat here for the same price, get better food and more of it, and actually sit down and have someone wait on you?

Ive been traveling the us for around 11 years, and this is hands down the best breakfast i have ever had. staff were super attentive and the food came quick. speaking of food, the quality is in another level, some of the best sausage i have ever had, tastes homemade and amazing. the coffee was phenomenal as well. genuinely such a good place and i cant recommend it more!

First time eating here today (lunch). Awesome! If you go away hungry its not from a lack of food.Had a chicken fried steak. Included fries, fried squash, salad and rolls. Everything was piping hot and really good. Chicken fried steak was hand breaded. Cant wait to visit again.

I ordered ribeye steak medium rare, tap water, sides are fried squash and salad with blue cheese dressing.The food came like this: steak is Very salty, you might need to take that into consideration for your personal condition. I personally like salty food a lot, still the salty level was way too much for me. I asked for medium rare, and it came more on the cooked side (see picture 4 and you decide). Well the steak was pretty thin so it must be why, I can understand. Yet the tap water never came, and nobody came to check on me even once. They started to sweep the floor and talk loudly while I was finishing my food, and eventually I needed to ask for my check.Maybe because I came by myself? Because I am Asian? They assume Asians dont tip? They tended the other table of 6 Americans very attentively like family like other reviews said. We were the only 2 tables tonight, they werent that busy.Btw, I tipped 18%, only because I normally tip 20%+ for basic decent service, especially during the pandemic, every working people would appreciate any extra cash (by working hard to earn it).I hesitated for 2 seconds before I wrote down the dollar amount for the 18% tip. This kind of poor service should not be encouraged. Well...I also believe in what goes around turns around, so, be kind is always the better choice. I hope they dont take it the wrong way, though.I am nobody, I just honestly speak for my experience, that I dont recommend this place, for the high salty level, and service is lacking.One star for the plate presentation (very basic presentation), one star for the quantity of food, aka. low price.

Really disappointed and have been each time I go. They were extremely rude to my husband that came in to pick up an order. My burger was burned to a crisp and I had trouble cutting it with a steak knife it was not edible! The fried pickles were so salty we couldn’t even eat them, they were doused in salt. The last time I went the waitresses we’re arguing over who would wait on us and we sat there for a good 20 minutes before anyone took our drink order. Definitely will not go again. Customer service is free. Treat people with respect even if they don’t look like you!! DO BETTER ITS 2022!!

No frills breakfast on a busy Saturday morning. Nothing to write home about but no complaints either. Clean restaurant and bathrooms. Prices are good! Husband loves the sausage!

I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised by this restaurant. The food the staff was more then I expected. I had the chicken fried steak breakfast. It was cooked just the way I asked. The fried potatoes were cooked perfectly. Im really picky when it comes to my breakfast potatoes. My sister had the ham omelette. There was so much ham and cheese in there you couldnt have asked for more. This is one of the best omelettes Ive ever tasted. The biscuits and gravy was nothing to write about. They are the typical powder mix gravy smothering a biscuit. Brandy our waitress was very attentive and even with a mask on you could tell she was smiling. All in all a very pleasant restaurant.

Most of the food was pretty good, the rolls and mac and cheese were disgusting. We were not asked if we wanted dessert but was served a receipt... We also had to ask for refills on our drinks. My sister requested refills our waitress took our cups but someone else brought them back... When asked who had the tea who had the water I pointed out very nicely she has the tea I have the water... With eyes rolling from the other server we were handed our drinks... This will not be a location we come back to on a regular basis when making our trips to Alma...

Okay so Ive ate there twice and the first time was amazing great food and service. Today though was not so great they were pretty nice but nothing was consistent from the time before and our food really was not good. Sorry but spending the money we did and not getting at least the moneys worth just really sucked. May try again some other time but not in a hurry to do so.

Absolutely one of the best places I’ve ever eaten at and the staff is just a ray of sunshine. I travel often and eat at lots of mom and pop places but this one takes the cake for sure. Our server, Rachel was extremely sweet and helpful and our cashier, Katelyn was completely amazing. If you’re looking for great food, and smiling faces you absolutely have to stop here. The best part? The portions could hardly be contained by the plates and the food was priced very fairly. I highly recommend the bourbon burger too. 🤩

This place was awesome! There was hardly anyone here, so I was a hit skeptical, but it was so good! The Chicken Fried Steak cut like butter, the Fried Okra was perfect, and The Big Dog Burger was yummy!The place was very clean, the waitress super sweet, and the cook was speedy!

Absolutely phenomenal! Massive half pound Burgers! Delicious! best burger Ive had all year! Vegan friendly with an expansive salad and fruit bar. Gravy is delicious, fries are hot tye onion rings were perfect. Buffet option as well as a menu. Fresh cakes and pies were available. Large Portion sizes Awesome awesome food!! Waitress was nice but my sons corn dogs and smiles were burnt and his Mac n cheese was somehow cold , I asked for an item too be left off but they added the item anyway

Oh my I am so sorry but I have never had food this bad from a small town diner.I have had better chicken fry out of a tv diner. My eggs were good My fried potatoes were no where near done. And biscuits and gravy tasted like medicine or something.My sons hamburger fell apart because the bun was so dry he had to eat his moms burger. His onion rings were delicious though. His mom couldnt eat her Mac and cheese in was so dry.she only ate her fries which most were under cooked.$27.30 and I am going somewhere else to eat because I am hungry and this food is not enabled. I dont understand how the locals of this town keep coming back..

Their rolls are AMAZING!!! I had their Bourbon steak burger dinner, the bourbon sauce is the best Ive had, and the patty was cook almost perfect. I love how they put my salad dressing on the side and let me decide how much I wanted on my salad. The only complaint is, I didnt have room for dessert!!! Great little diner. Will definitely be back!!!

We didnt realize this place wasnt the same buffet til we walked in. The decor is a 100% upgrade. Love the color on the walls, its much more inviting than previously. When you walk in, you seat yourself, which is fine. But, it was a wait to get out drinks ordered and then another 10 minutes before we got the drinks. The waitress was nice but was either stretched too thin or was a little scatterbrained/distracted: she brought the wrong items, shed ask if we wanted something and then either forget to bring it or bring it way after it was needed and refills were few and far between. The catfish was very good, and so were the pinto beans! Two of us had baked potatoes and both were just bad. Very very dry, and seemed old as indicated by the hardened and yellowed/darkened areas inside. I dont mean old as in overripe, just that theyd been cooked and sitting around for a while. They werent even hot. The soup (veggie beef) was so good, but it was brought with my meal instead of with everyone elses salads. One of the members of our party ordered breakfast and raved on the fried potatoes but disliked the gravy (which was also very cold and had a skin on it) and the sausage. They need to offer some sort of bread option with the entrees. Cornbread or a few biscuits can be a low cost item with a high profit margin, depending on where they order from. And it would make customers happy--the elderly couple at the table beside us were complaining about not getting a roll with their chicken fried steaks and I kind of agreed! This place was just kind of okay. For the cost ($15 a person for meal and drink), we could have had better and the portions are pretty small (back to that bread--full customers leave happier reviews!). My daughter eats like a bird and even she left hungry. Oh, and is Mac and Cheese REAAAALLY a vegetable???

Couldnt have been better. Were just passing through on a road trip, but if I was a local I would be a regular here. We had a variety of dishes at our table from breakfast to full dinners. Everyone was very pleased with their meal. Service was exceptional too. By the way, I noticed most of the 1 and 2 star reviews said the food was good. Service is important, but some critics on here seem a little harsh because they werent offered a refill or had to ask for their check. Really??

Nice little family diner. Right next to Almas Motel 6. Very close to I-40. Good breakfasts at reasonable prices. Service is ok, they can be a little slow w coffee refills. They also do a Thursday night special All you can eat steak with 2 sides, for a very reasonable amount. The steaks are very good. And if you have a problem w one they will bring you another. They also have a Prime Rib special on Friday night but we havent tried that yet. They have lots of desserts on display, they all look delicious but I havent tried any(I just shut my eyes as I go by)

Food was fine but both are meals ordered were incorrect...excuses were made from waitress, lol...and was told she only delivers the food that was set on window from cooks and only after the bell is givin...and yet shes the one that took are order..and thier were only six customers siting eating..kind of felt bad for her skills...

Spent the day driving into town anticipating this Diner. I could not go in as I am on a road trip with my 7 month old Belgium Shepard so I ordered it for delivery. Ordered the chicken fried steak and eggs over easy with fried potatoes. Food arrived fresh, almost everything was individually placed into containers which was nice. Just a small touch that shows they are willing to go the extra mile! The feedback for the Airedale Diner is underrated in my opinion. Legit, old school diner food at its best!!! Thank you!

What a nice, simple diner with good food. The staff was friendly, and other customers were friendly The place was clean and gave you plenty of food. We stayed at the Motel 6 it is attached to and had dinner and breakfast. Both were very good and neither my husband or I could finish our dinners.

This is a great place for breakfast! Food is consistently good & reasonably priced. Id give it 5 stars except the wait staff recently has been a little lacking. New waitresses who served us the past couple of visits havent been as attentive as the long time waitresses who are always on top of things. So, hopefully its just a temporary adjustment. If you go late morning on Sundays be prepared to see it packed (church crowd) & it can get a bit noisy in the dining areas. We usually eat there 2-3 times a month. Had been going every Sat morning for breakfast.

The food here wasnt good. My girlfriend ordered a mushroom and Swiss burger with fries, I ordered the hamburger steak with a baked potato, macaroni and cheese along with a salad. The macaroni and cheese was the kraft powdered cheese type, which was disappointing. The potato and salad were good along with my girlfriends french fries..hot and fresh.The problem we had is the hamburgers..her mushroom and Swiss was essentially the same burger as the hamburger steak. Something was off about the flavor..it wasnt the onions or the gravy, but the meat itself. I cant pinpoint what the problem is, it just tasted gross. I dont know if it was cooked in old grease or what, I only cut a small portion of the burger and left the rest of it We both didnt enjoy the burger part of either of our meals. We spent $24 for 2 people. We didnt complain to a manager, as neither of us were interested in a different meal or refund. We just chalked it up to not being a place for us. I suggest going to cracker barrel instead for a sit down restaurant and skipping this place.

Best Experience ever! Stopped in for breakfast today The best breakfast I’ve ever had. It was like home cooked with love. We went to pay and waitress said our meal was payed for, by another customer and Merry Christmas to our family,! words can not explain how we felt. Thank you Lord, for wonder people in this world. We were driving through and stumbled on this gem. My husband had the chilli and the Reuben sandwich. I had the beef veggie soup. Everything was delicious and was very reasonably priced. Win!

My husband and I took our 4 kids here after church today. The staff is absolutely amazing! They are all kind and polite. We had the buffet and it was great! I have a shellfish allergy but they cook all there seafood separate so I was able to eat too! It was great!

The veggies in the omelets was not cooked almost raw heated a little on the grill. Server was not attending our table almost done with the food before even asked about refills or to check on us to see how the food was. Unfortunately wont go back McDonalds is better

Updated review: The service has gone downhill and no it can’t all be blamed on the pandemic. The servers, except for two young ladies that have been there for awhile , simply put do not care and it shows! We have been eating here for years, but recently the past three times we’ve been in there service is terrible and food is just ok. We won’t be going back for awhile. We may give them another try in a few months. It’s really sad because it was a hopping place with wonderful service and the best catfish and burgers in town for several years. I would rather be served by a server that’s overwhelmed rather than one that just obviously doesn’t care about their job or the quality of service being offered. Management I hope you take note of this review!!

We went during their lunch buffet. Waitress was very good. Atmosphere was very good! My wife and I both ate off their buffet and it was better than expected for sure! The buffet had a variety of different foods and everything that I ate was pretty good! I had Fish, Shrimp, Roast Beef, Gumbo, and a variety of sides to go with it! It was our first trip there to eat but it definitely wont be our last. It was the first of many trips!Our Pastor has highly recommended their breakfast buffet as well! I look forward to trying it soon!!

Its a quiet, friendly, down home kinda family restaurant or if you just want to read the paper while drinking coffee. Food is always good, never had a waitress that didnt surpass expectations. They serve breakfast off the menu all day and its just always an enjoyable experience.

We always try to give independently owned businesses a try. We were pleased with Ds even though the sign outside doesnt say Ds, it says Airedales or something similar. We shared a club sandwich and we still couldnt eat it all. It made a good lunch the next day too. Well go again.

Stopped in for breakfast early Sunday morning. We ordered the Hillbilly Omlet with hash browns and biscuit/gravy to share. The Omlet and hash browns were very good but the biscuit and gravy could have been warmer. The biscuit tasted like the ones from Sams . Homemade biscuit would had been better. Filled us both up! Service was very good. Sweet waitress

We just moved to town and have ate here almost every morning. The service is good and the food is great. We have had something different each time and everything has been great also the prices are very reasonable. They do have a buffet as well but we do not eat enough to justify getting the buffet but the food on it looks really good. For a good home cooked style meal I would really recommend eating here.

We stopped in on a road trip through the area. We were very surprised at the variety and quality of the food. Everyone was very happy with the service and the laid back atmosphere. I would definitely recommend stopping in if you have a chance. And their selection of ice cream has something for everyone....if you have room.

Went for prime rib night. Very good price for a very decent piece of meat. Also had some items off the buffet. Some are excellent like the fried chicken. Some not so much. But overall great experience at a great price. You will leave full and not broke.

We have been to 9 states this vacation and spent alot of money on food and this was by far the best food we have eaten yet. Its very family friendly and clean and the people there are so AMAZING!

My family was out of the state for a week. Our first meal inside our home state was at Ds Family Restaurant today. The buffet couldnt have gotten more southern. Salad bar had a verity of vegetables to choose from. The price for a family of five was under $40. That includes a couple of appetizers and drinks.Every table and surface was clean. Smiling professional staff. Bathrooms were clean. The restaurant smelled of fresh home cooking. All stuff I look at when I go to a restaurant.

My expectations were not high when going to this place, because we were in the area. But the buffet was really good. It doesnt have the selection like Golden Corral, but everything they have is good. And you cant beat the price. So that is certainly our go-to spot when in that area.
