Jims death was imminent during the covid-quarantine, but I wasnt prepared to make funeral arrangements as quickly as I had to. I approached one funeral home in Edgewater but was disappointed with their response. Something felt off. I was received warmly at Lasting Tributes, and it turned out to be the right decision for me. Vince was upfront with the options and didnt try to upsell services. I was an emotional wreck, and he offered reassurance and a calm presence. He and his staff provided substantial support and information to deal with the mountain of paperwork that follows when someone dies. Vince produced e-documents that my son needed to justify bereavement leave from his employer. Kerry walked me through submitting life insurance claims and applying for widows benefits through Social Security and for pensions. She explained the importance of the probate process and gave me contacts at the Register of Wills office. Together, we went through a checklist to see where I needed help.Vince encouraged me to reach out to my children to pick our urn for Jims ashes. Traveling to get the family together during the covid-quarantine restrictions took time, and Vince waited several months for us to provide one.Vince and Kerry kept in touch via email, phone, and text. Losing my mother was unexpected and traumatic for my family. Vince was very professional, kind, and compassionate as we went through the “next steps.” We had a situation where my mother was to be cremated here, but was to be placed in the Columbarium where my dad is, located at a Veterans Cemetery in NJ. Vince worked with the funeral home that provided the Veterans services for my dad. Vince made everything simple for me and my family. He really did take care of the whole process. I did not worry about a thing. Vince also called me a couple times afterwards to see how I and my family were doing. I would definitely recommend Lasting Tributes when you have to go through the experience of losing a loved one.

Cant speak highly enough of Vince and the rest of the crew here. Unfortunately our family has had to go through the funeral process a handful of times in recent years. When my husband passed, we first sought help from a more traditional funeral home. We were seeking a direct cremation but were still required to wait hours for a return call, go through a lengthy interview, and then make an appointment to sit down with the funeral director. We switched to Lasting Tributes and were able to submit all of our requests online. It was very reasonably priced and the services were customizable based on our needs. Their on-line forms made submitting our request hassle-free. Everything was handled quite tastefully and efficiently.

My parents moved to Maryland after my fathers military career, and when their health started declining - I couldnt fathom having their services in Norfolk, where their church is located. The crew at Lasting Tributes gave us exactly the kind of memorial we wanted in honor of my grandfather. After his battling cancer for more than 10 years, my family has been through quite a lot. Lasting Tributes is one of the nicest funeral homes I have ever seen. The entire atmosphere there is warm and comforting. Even the room where you meet the funeral director feels like home. I am writing this review to share my experience during a very difficult time. Our pets are our family. We become so attached to them that our grief is very real. As the saying goes a dog is mans best friend well I am here to tell you Molly was my best buddy! I got molly at 6 weeks old. She was the one in a litter of 9 pups that chose me. She went every where with me. The first 9 years of her life she went every day to work with me. Needless to say we spent a lot of time together. She would do anything to please me. So in her time of need I stayed by her side. When her time came I did not want to bury her in the backyard and just forget about her. My wife said you know we could have her cremated. That way she could continue to be with you. So we asked around and came upon Helfenbein and Lasting Tributes. From the very first communication you could hear the compassion and the expression of sympathy in the conversation. Throughout the process we were treated with the utmost respect and care. But more important than that Molly was treated like the buddy she was to me! That meant everything to me. She was given the same dignity as if she was a person. I needed that and felt Molly deserved that more than anything. Now she is with me and when I go to be with my Lord and Savior I will take her with me. So when we recently lost our other little buddy it was without hesitation that we contacted Helfenbein again. My wife spoke with Ryan over the phone. Ryan once again was very compassionate with my wife. Expressed great concern for her grief and offered to assist in anyway he could. You see Squirt had a seizure and had not actually passed yet. We felt it was emanate and wanted to get things set up. This was on a Sunday and that evening Ryan actually took time from his evening at home with his family to call and check on our situation. Ryan words do not do justice to all that you did for us during a very difficult time! Your car and compassion and genuine concern was and is 5 star. After the sudden & tragic loss of my amazing husband & father of our two children, by the Grace of God, we found Ryan and Lasting Tributes! My sister went home to Heaven on 5-22-12. She was my best friend and only direct family. She was very healthy and this was not expected at all. I have been in WV trying to make sense of this and trying to finalize her affairs. I thought so many times about our meeting and how different Lasting Tributes is compared to traditional funeral homes. I only wish that there was a funeral chapel like yours in WV. Unfortunately WV has only 2 funeral chapels and both were traditional. I can now tell you from first hand experience; the traditional funeral home experience only adds grief and accentuates the sadness. You need to get Lasting Tributes into every state.

My wife passed suddenly and unexpectedly on a Sunday morning. As several family members were home from college for a long weekend, we decided to hold the funeral service as soon as possible. We relied on social media and networking to get the word out as s formal obituary could not be published until Tuesday afternoon. Oddly enough it seems, I began working for Lasting Tributes in January of this year. On my 60th day with the company, who is more like a giant family than anything else, I lost my father. Id like to think my position with the company was meant to happen, for whatever reason, they were meant to be a part of my life. I work side by side with these people, and they are always putting all they have into making families as happy as they can. I truly cant say enough about Lasting Tributes Cremation services. Recently we had our second experience with Lasting Tributes. Our first occasion was for our beloved pet Molly. After a horrible experience at the Vet office it was a welcomed experience dealing with Lasting Tributes. They were very sympathetic and caring from the first moment we spoke. We ordered a photo box for her through them as well. When the box arrived they offered to place her ashes in the photo box for us. This was a step above and beyond in my opinion because it saved me from the trauma of looking at the ashes while the pain was still fresh. Molly was presented to us in the photo box and in a VERY compassionate manner.Fast forward a few years to our recent experience with our other beloved pet Squirt. Squirt was my baby for 13 years of my life. I spoke to Ryan on a Sunday afternoon in reference to him. He was quite ill and death was imminent. I was so emotional with Ryan on the phone and he kept reassuring me and comforting me along the way, while we were trying to make the arrangements. Ryan even checked on me later that evening to make sure things were ok and that I was ok. This really made a lasting impression on me! I mean the fact he took a few moments out of his Sunday evening to check on the situation and myself really showed his heart and concern. After the death of my beloved Squirt that Monday afternoon, Ryan was in contact with me every step of the way. I received a call telling me that Squirt had been delivered by the Vet and he assured me he was in good hands. Then a couple days later when he was ready to be picked up I was contacted again. I live in Chestertown so Ryan offered for his staff to make arrangements for me to pick Squirt up there. Ryan contacted me to let me know he was on his way to Chestertown. However its how he addressed it that really and I mean REALLY impressed me. He informed me Squirt was being escorted to Chestertown now. ESCORTED!! That was amazing to me. When I think of remains being escorted the first thing that comes to my mind is military personnel or someone very special. Well Ryan informed me that my pet was very special. I know to some he was just a Dog but to me he was my baby, my family, my loved one. And quite frankly to Lasting Tributes I feel he was the same to them. When my husband and I arrived in Chestertown to pick him up, Lauren greeted us and offered her condolences. She asked us about ordering a box for his remains. I had spoke to Ryan about wanting to look at options. I couldnt decide on one right then I guess I was just to emotional. She asked if I still wanted to take him home or wait. I wanted to take him home. So she presented him to me in such a kind a caring way. Even gave me a hug and said she was so sorry and understood how hard it was. She gave us information on the boxes and said just contact us when you are ready. No pressure to buy just information I asked for and wanted. This place made an emotional experience so much easier. I will forever be grateful for how they have handled our precious babies, with such compassion and empathy. I strongly recommend Lasting Tributes Cremation and Funeral Care for all your needs.
