I went to pick up a car I had reserved. Upon arrival, I was informed there was no car. There werent any in that class of vehicle that were available. Instead of giving me whatever they have on site, they give an explanation that there may be a car at another site. Instead of looking on the computer to see if there were, I get told the computer system is down. How can they rent out cars without a working system? Sounds like a lie. Hertz rent-a-car? Dont even bother. Anyways, the problem is not just with Hertz, all the car rental companies are making consumers pay back the losses they incurred due to Covid by charging exorbitant amounts of money for a rental. Dont give in.

Hertz needs to close this location. The attitudes and customer service are not up to hertz standards. Don’t expect to have a car ready for you when you rent one online. They turned away four separate clients who had reservations while we sat and watched. The male working the desk was snarky and dismissive. Clearly didn’t care we drove an hour for our reserved car which they didn’t have. The manager graciously offered us a car but we had to drive an hour more to go get it. And on top of that. The couldn’t refund our money. Gonna take 7-10 days for that. Absolutely ridiculous. Will be writing hertz corporate. Would be nice if they would have apologized and maybe offered a free day rental or anything as a solution.

Do NOT rent a vehicle from this place. This the second time I have a issue with them. Its been a month and I still havent received my deposit. The same $50 has been in my account and they tried to tell me they released my funds back Feb 15th even though I have my bank statements for that month they said well you want see the funds deposited on your bank statement. if any money hits your account your statement shows you transactions Im no dummy but apparently Im not the only one who has had this same issue. Never again I will deal with enterprise from now on

Worst experience I’ve ever had with any rental car company and any location. We reserved through their website and when we arrived they told us they had no cars. They kept me outside in the pouring rain throughout our discussion because they wanted to go home despite it being a half hour to closing. When I asked to speak to a manager the man held up a phone on speaker feet away from my face despite standing outside next to a busy highway. When I reached to pull the phone close to me, he pulled back said “no” so I was unable to hear anything they said. Incredibly rude, unprofessional. Never use them! Their is an enterprise right next door. Use them or literally anyone else instead. I’ve never written a review before but this experience was so miserable I literally couldn’t help myself.

Monday morning I was put on hold for 15 minutes. Hung up and called back.Was told a midsized car would be available in the afternoon but when I got there about 4:30, I was told none was available. Lot was full of cars etc. I called my Ins. Company and they switched my rental over to Enterprise. Was not pleased with Hertz!!

Insurance was the reason we rented from here. When we returned the they claimed they found a cigarette and ashes in the back. Neither myself or my husband smoke. Charged additional $300 non refundable deposit. Dont know where it from . So if you rent from them make sure you take picture before you leave the lot and when you return it. I made the mistake and didnt.Zach, I have tried to figure out how to private message you. I can not find you. Enterprise has went above and beyond 2 times since August to make sure there was no problems when insurance said to call Hertz for my rental. I rent from this location on a regular basis, Im there at least once a month, and, at some points, once a week. These guys always step up and do the best they can to help customers. This office seems to be the red-headed step child of the region, GSP gets the good stuff, and theyll toss whatever they dont want here. They are often short handed, and because they have a lot of corporate customers to handle, theyre running all over Anderson county all day long. Everytime Im there though, they do what they can to help me out as quickly and effectively as possible.Ive seen them deal with extraordinarily rude customers, some outright abusive, and they dont need to deal with that because the car they have for you isnt the color you want (actual complaint Ive overheard). Be patient, chill, be nice.All yall saying go to Enterprise of course theyll do better, theyve got 14 people over there at any given point. Theres maybe 3 here at Hertz. Cut them slack. Be patient, be kind. You might get some in return.

Car was nice, but the woman who works there is very rude. Also beware and take pictures before you drive it off the lot because the cars are not clean, but if you dont have proof beforehand they will charge you or make you clean it. Unprofessional staff and policies. Go to enterprise right next door much better rental service.

Awful. My friend was supposed to pick up his rental today but was unable to do so. Prior to arriving to Hertz he had spoke with one of the employees over the phone getting information on what he needed to bring and everything like that so that he could have everything ready. When we got there he went to give them his form of payment, a Chime card, which they refused to accept. They told him that they could only accept bank cards, something that they neglected to tell him when he called prior to his arrival. Funny thing is that he specifically asked the employee whom he had talked to over the phone if he could pay using his Chime card to which the employee assured him that Chime would be an accepted form of payment. In the end bc of the situation naturally my friend got somewhat expressingly aggravated but not all out rude and in a 10 minute time frame they decided the best course of action would be to cancel his rental. To sum it all up, Hertz, you really need to make sure that your employees are well rehearsed on what payment methods are and which ones are not acceptable and that they know how to clearly relay this information to you future customers. Especially when they are giving customers this info over the phone.

ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC, UNPROFESSIONAL, AND CHILDISH!!! My husband called to confirm a reservation that was made a while ago, he was told, by a lady (who was extremely rude) that reservation is only based on the car being returned on time by the previous user. NOOOOO!!!!!! Thats NOT A RESERVATION!!! My husband tells them he HAS to have a car by 8am in the morning, he was even willing to settle for a smaller/ different vehicle. He had to call back, to see if a vehicle was going to be ready for him and was told by Charles that he would check, he put him on hold.....disconnected. He calls back, no answer period. So, he calls back again, from a different number, they answer, Charles, once again puts him on hold.....6 minutes and 1 second later....DISCONNECTED!!! Now, HERTZ, is making an family rearrange their entire schedule, waste gas to go to a differentlocation, etc. He ended up having to go with another rental car company. This Hertz location is a pathetic excuse for a professional company. I would LOVE the chance to speak with a manager or ANYONE who can give me a plausible explanation as to why the customer was treated like dirt!! ABSOLUTELY unacceptable!

When we arrived to drop off the car and they were very busy. Only one person working and we were told there were 6 people ahead of us. We waited 45 minutes before anyone helped us. They wanted to charge an additional $39, but did not explain what the charge was for, told us to call customer service. We called and was put on hold for over 30 minutes. We gave up and asked if we could talk to the manager. They told us she was on vacation. We asked if there was someone else in charge or another manager they could call and they said no. They informed us they could not give any refunds. Eventually (2 hours later) we decided to pay the $39, but they locked the door and would not let us in. When they came out the back door to help other customers, we asked if we could pay because the car was still in our name. They said they do not take cash, we asked for the keys back and they said that would be stealing. Finally, we paid with the debit card on file. I will NEVER EVER rent a car from Hertz. I have rented multiple cars in multiple states and this is the WORSE customer service I have ever experienced. Totally unprofessional, Andrew, the person helping us kept saying we were rude, unbelievable!!

Just save yourself the time and effort and go to Enterprise. When I arrived to pick up my reservation there was a sign on the front door saying that they were closed to help another customer. I called the number on the sign twice with no answer and no option to leave a voicemail. Waited about 20 minutes and then decided to go nextdoor to Enterprise to see if they had anything available. While pulling up estimates at Enterprise someone let me know that they saw someone pull into the parking lot at Hertz. I went back over and the doors were still locked. A FedEx employee happened to be delivering packages and knocked on the backdoor, which was immediately opened. I asked the employee if they were open and mentioned that I had been waiting and tried to call. I got nothing but attitude in return. Finally when the front door was opened and I checked in, it appeared as though the employee was purposely taking his time pulling up my reservation on the computer in a passive aggressive way. Another customer was fully checked in while I was still waiting and then I was told that the other customer got the car that I had reserved. All I was left with was the option to rent a larger vehicle for a lot more money than what I had come in for. At this point I was dealing with two incredibly rude employees with no professionalism. I let them know that I could get a cheaper car at Enterprise and left to the female employee saying, “That’s just FINE WITH US.” I received not one apology for their lack of professionalism or for their wasting my time.

I am giving one star for the 1 nice guy who works there. I wish I could remember his name. I was told that I could be picked up at 8:15 but then when I called that morning to remind them, I was told that I would have to wait another hour when the driver came in at 9. I ended up walking to pick up my rental. I would go somewhere else if that wasnt the place my insurance uses. They definitely need to improve their customer service!!!!

My car died, since it wasnt a collision my car insurance wouldnt pay for a car rental. When you have to pay out of pocket, car rental companies charge so much and now you have to have a deposit and pay upfront that it was too much money. I used my neighbors car instead so I just had to put gas in it and buy some oil.

It was hard picking up the car rental. It was a night mare dropping it off. Apparently it was more important to make service calls than to attend to the customers they already had in front of them. To get someone on the phone, next to impossible. If at all possible try to avoid this place

Requested rental via website one week in advance and received confirmation #, however; one day prior to rental pick-up they called to tell me they had NO CARS! They work off of returns and the returns they expected had been extended, so they had NO CARS! Was told they would call back later in the day to let me know if some had come in. If i could give 0 stars I would, the location had only two cars to choose from and the people working here do not know how to communicate with customers. They cost me $600 extra and maxed out my credit card because my extension was not filed in the correct manner and no one told us. No one at this store has worked with us to resolve the issue or help. We were told our rental had been extended and we were good to go and then I had over $300 in late fees on my credit card and had corporate Hertz calling and asking where the car was. When I have tried to call and talk to someone and explain this to the employees here they are confused, put me on hold for 15 mins, and then hang up on me. Terrible service with employees that have no idea about company policies and follow ups

Not happy. They are very slow, nothing is ever correct in the computer system. When we picked up the car it was very dirty. The managers are not professional at all. They have no patience with NEW employees. We had a problem with the payment amount picking up the car so my husband called our insurance company before we left. Our insurance stated the problem was fixed and asked Her to check to see if the issue showed corrrcted. She said it was. Now I am sitting here waiting to figure out why we STILL owe. They are blaming the body shop. REALLY?

I had a great experience with this establishment! They work hard to clean the cars and the check in/out was very easy. I did start the check in process online early so that may have helped. They were very gracious that I cleaned the car when I brought it back to them. I rented a 2018 Nissan Altima and it was fabulous and the gas mileage was incredible! Also their price for this car was $100 less for a week than the Hertz in Easley. I hope to do business with them again.

Lol, I wish I had read the reviews before I went. I would have seen ALL of the people who had made reservations like I had, only to be turned away with no car. I literally called in at 11:00 a.m., was sent a confirmation to my email account, went an hour and a half later to pick up my car, only to be told I had no car. The guy working the counter was a completely Incompetent, and almost seemed to enjoy the fact That He had no car on the property to give me. Even though I had a confirmation in my hand. We recently traveled to the upstate on a business trip and due to limited availability we used Hertz for the first time. Not knowing what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised with the high level of professionalism that I receieved. The gentlemen there went out of their way to ensure that my rental car needs were fulfilled and then some. I had a reservation for 2 days, but needed to drop off the car after hours. I asked if the car could be dropped off at the nearby Airport Hertz location which operates 24 hrs. But the manager flat out refused to help. What further annoyed me was the tone of her voice. Guess you cant expect an ounce of decency from people these days. Ended up renting from the Enterprise next door. Never gonna rent from this location ever again.

I had an accident in my pickup and had the insurance company set up a pickup for me. Called and made sure everything was clear for me to pickup the truck and was told yes. Called 30 prior to let them know I was on the way and arrive to them telling me they booked the truck for someone else the minute I got off the phone with them. I believe one of the employee took the truck for the weekend. The staff couldn’t care about the customers. Was told the employees come first when waiting to be helped. I don’t not recommend doing business with this company especially this location. Seems to me like all the employees are rude from my experience.

Terrible place to rent from. Rented a mini van months ago for a vacation. Got there and the biggest vehicle they have is a Nissan Rogue. So basically we were downgraded. Will most likely now have to take two cars on vacation because everyone will not fit. None of their other locations had any larger vehicles. They claimed they didn’t have any because of people extending the time they have the vehicle for. I’m sorry but if somebody rents a van they should get a van not a small suv that won’t hold everybody.

Drove 45 minutes to rent a car. The office smelled of cologne so bad it made my nose sore. But the worse part was after the long drive, I needed to use the rest room. I could see the restroom door behind the desk, however I wasnt allowed to use it. A paying customer!!!! The employee was polite and smiled. Not a public restroom I was very uncomfortable being under pressure and handing them my money so they could pay the water bill. I wont be back.

Maybe one of the worst traveling experiences in my life. If you are considering renting a car from Hertz in Anderson, go the Enterprise right next door or ANYWHERE else. I was called an hour before I was scheduled to pick up my car, and told that they had no cars available for me due to a shortage they had been experiencing for a while. I had to call several times and was put on hold for 15 minutes then hung up on more then once. Eventually they said they would have a car ready for me at 1, and they rejected my requests for them to hold the car an hour for me to get a ride there. So one of my friends had to miss their class to drive me there before 1 only to find out that the renter extended their drive and they couldnt help me. When I walked in there I saw employees on their phone, complaining about how they wish they could just go home, and being straight up rude. Their customer service was atrocious, facility is to small, and over quality for a rental car place is pitiful.

If I could give a negative I would. This has been the worst experience ever with car rental. I was hit by another car Monday, their insurance sent a reservation Tuesday afternoon, I called and the guy who answers was making deliveries and would call me back. I waited til 4:30 and still no call. I called them. He said they had been booked up for hrs but he had returns coming in the next day and I could get one when I got off work. I get a call at 10ish the next day that they have a car. I reminded them I work. They said call when you are on the way. I call and they route me back to the same guy who proceeds to tell me hes in the same boat as Tuesday with all the rentals out. I reminded him he said he would keep me one til I got off and he basically said I was lying. You know what makes it even worse? My ride took me by there and there was about 10 cars in the back of the building. Needless to say I called the insurance company back and they cancelled the reservation and called Enterprise next door.

I hate to even give this place a star at all . There is NOTHING at all remotely shining about this location. The staff is horrible , the Manager Juliette Dickson has to be the worst Manager that there is . Her staff is rude and disrespectful. If and when they are there and have the office open. We tried to rent a car for 3 days . Lot was full but door was locked and all calls went to a cell phone . Then when we finally got a car , it was nasty and still had the paper work from the previous problem with there information, card numbers and address. Thank goodness we are type of people that were a lie to dispose of it and shred it. Not only that we were given one price and the charges a totally different on. When asked to talk with the manager Julie all of a sudden the guy was the manager then another guy. It is awful . We are reporting it to the bbb and any other place that can be. Not only that we watched them take advantage of a senior couple and as they left laughed at it .Horrible horrible place.

I placed an order to rent a vehicle on 4/8/19 for a full size SUV. Upon calling on 4/13/19 to make sure everything was in order before I went to pick up my vehicle the service representative tells me that they had no vehicle available for us. I understand they tried to call but they failed to leave a message on 4/12/19. My problem with this is we make reservations for a reason to ensure that everything is in order. It’s frustrating to do your part and plan ahead but be disappointed as a customer. This needs to be fixed. I have heard horror stories from different Michelin employees about renting through Hertz but I didn’t want to listen because I expected a totally different experience. As a company there should be some type of expectation and ownership. Without that expectation being met that’s how you lose customers. We will never use Hertz again and will encourage our friends and family to do the same.

I have been renting cars every 2 weeks for the last year and a half. I generally use enterprise but I found a discounted rate for hertz so I figured why not. I paid using the online option and the out the door price was 182.00 for a week or so I though. The clerk specifically asked me if I needed any of the additional coverage, to which I answered now my business covers me for all of that. Well come to find when I turn the car in that I have been charged 300 dollars for additional options making a week cost over 480 dollars. I know that all of these additional charges are 100 percent profit and that this company is simply stealing from me. Total Garbage I will never use hertz again. And I will make sure everyone in my company knows the same thing.
