Our interaction and assistance from the Clippership staff was great. We were able to stay in the rv the night before our scheduled date due to late flight arrival. Staff waited for us even though it was after hours and got us checked in so we could head out early. Totally unexpected and appreciated. It was an older unit that showed its age but worked without a hitch for our two weeks. Would go back to Clippership in a heart beat.

We made a reservation for gold, 23ft RV 2 months in advance, but read all reviews right before pick-up; we were very stressed about it. However, when we arrived, everything went extremely smooth: guys upgraded our reservation for free to 30ft RV and offered quite fresh car. Everything inside was prepared and clean: linen, towels, dishes, BBQ. We even got tourist chairs and table, just found it too late) Also, the company helped is with sms support even in late hours, and free shuttle bus to the airport. Check out process was smooth and accurate too. Now waiting for deposit back.

My husband and I had an excellent experience with Clippership. Crystal took her time reviewing all costs and insurance packages with us prior to making any charges. She then took her time to go over the RV with us, inspecting the RV and making sure that we knew exactly what to do while we were out on the road. We were even able to extend our reservation an extra day last minute which was extremely helpful and it allowed us to enjoy our Alaskan vacation a little bit longer! I would recommend Clippership and I would absolutely use them again in the future! Because of how much fun we had- we will be returning to Alaska in the future!

You get what you pay for, or in some cases you dont. We were supposed to pick up our RV at 1:30pm and ended up standing around in the parking lot waiting for our rental for 3 hours. We asked if we could return it 3 hours later to compensate for the wait time and were told no. They did begrudgingly offer to refund us for half of our first day of the rental and then never did. We were also supposed to receive an electrical adapter with the rental and our unit didnt have one. Also, note that when you arrive theyll show you a list of things you can purchase for extra, like the water regulator that you need to have if youre hooking up to an RV park water line (if its required, wouldnt you think it would be included?) and RV toilet paper. I understand not providing a bunch of toilet paper in the unit, but a courtesy roll would be nice to get you started. When we asked to purchase some additional TP they then told us they were out and they only had one water regulator. We were renting two RVs. Also note that while pots, pans, silverware, and a coffee maker are included there are no plates, bowls or cups provided. Youll be able to cook food, but you better be prepared to eat it out of the pan directly. We also had multiple dash warning lights come on during our trip, but luckily we never broke down. The carbon monoxide detector had also been removed from the unit, the vent fan on the stove didnt work, multiple curtains were broken, and the furniture and floor were dirty. We cleaned the floor at least 3 times and didnt seem to make a dent. We were super lucky to have family in the area that helped outfit us with stuff to make our stay comfortable and anything we did purchase we made sure to give to people at the campground. Another renter that returned while we were waiting said they ended up having to go to Good Will to buy supplies. The price may make Clippership seem like a good deal, but Id go with someone like Great Alaskan Holidays instead. Other campers we talked to in the RV parks who used them said their experiences were great.

The staff was great. We came in late night and the RV was ready for us to sleep in. We checked out next day and were on our way for 8 days. The RV was huge but had everything we needed. I would highly recommend these guys. They can be hard to reach sometime, but everything in Alaska needs patience. You do not bring your lower 48 I want this now attitude when you come here for vacation. You should slow down and take it easy. Will be coming back to Clippership next time. Good people.

It was the only place who had an RV at the time and even though I saw they has so many bad reviews I decided to give them a chance. When we went to pick up the RV, the generator didnt work and they gave us a really big one but didnt use at the campground because the neighbors complained about it which I understand. After saying they were going to refund the 500 deposit, they didnt refund all of it. Some of the people there are so rude and seem like theyre bothered with you for no reason. First and last time I ever rent from them....

If I could give a negative star I would. This was by far the worst place we have rented from. The RV broke down 6 times. They came out and fixed it or had us drive to a shop to have them fix it. One time the mechanic said he knew the wiper motor had been broken two rentals ago but was told to push it out and they would deal with it another time. Almost got in accident when it started to rain. Manager was rude and did not really care about all the problems we had. Staff was understanding and seemed like they really cared but everything has to go through the manager who is conveniently not always around when you call. Still have not seen our deposit back but sick of fighting with this group. STAY AWAY!!!!!!!

In July 1, 2019 we rented a 2015 28 RV with 80,000 miles on it from Clippership. When we were checking in, paid the rental fee of $1,363, plus I paid the $500 deposit back in January. as we were going over the rv with one of the check in staff we noticed some mostly cosmetic damage to the rv, scratches, a few dents etc. when we did the interior walk thru we noticed things like only have 2 screws in the microwave to keep it in the wall, trim boards tore up, a hole in the bathroom door As soon as we started driving I noticed the overhead vent above the drivers seats wouldnt stay down. when we left town, before we even got out of town there were drawers coming out, cabinets coming open and bowls, pans and a coffee pot about to fall out, we stopped and put everything back ,after about another 5 miles the same drawers and cabinets were open again. we also noticed the side windows wouldnt stay shut due to the end pieces missing as we were driving over to Valdez, AK the transmission started sifting hard wen climbing hills. we got to Valdez and unplugged the power cord from the generator box to plug it into the outlet at the rv park and the prongs on the rv plug were bent to the point I had to bend them back to get it plugged in. we spent the first night in the rv and went to open the bathroom vent when we were taking a shower and it was broken as well. the second night we were in the rv we noticed there was some water damage on the wall beside the toilet and couldnt figure out where it came from until we looked down the wall towards the floor and the wall was pulling away from the floor enough you can see daylight thru the gap. when we went to make breakfast that morning there were no matches to lite the stove because the striker was broken, along with the back of the stove was bent and had to go buy matches to cook breakfast. It was at that point we decided to go direct back to anchorage and return the rv early and figure something else out for the rest of the week. When we started to dump the tanks to return it with empty tanks. after we finished dumping the tanks, with no gloves provided, so we had to go buy our own to use. I asked for the manager and was told he didnt come in until the afternoon. with a request for the manager to call me because I was not going to sit around the rundown offices when I am in Alaska for vacation, I never got a call the rest of the week. after returning home I had to call their office again to try and speak to the manager, but he again wasnt in. so I requested he called me as soon as he got in. the office lady asked why exactly we were requesting a call from the manager, so I gave her the list of things wrong with the rv again even though they have an exact copy of the list I made. Monday night when I was getting ready to go to bed the manager finally called me back, over the conversation i explained what was going on, and he told me that even new rvs have drawers and cabinets that fall out regularly, and the microwave falling out is a normal thing on an rv that is 4 years old. when told the guy who was with me builds rvs for a living he said that all our complaints and issues were trivial because they couldnt find anything wrong and thats how all the rvs in AK were with 80,000 miles on it. after asking about my deposit he was hesitant because they were wanting to blame the damage on us. in the end he told us that the deposit would be returned (still havent seen it back in my account yet) the final reason for them not returning money for 3 of the 5 nights it was reserved is because they couldnt rent it back out until my reservation was over, even though it was checked in early. This was my second time renting from Clippership, last year we didnt have any problems so we didnt even think about renting from anyone else this year. Needless to say if I could give them negative stars I would, and after talking with a few others who also rented from them that week had bad experiences with them as well.

After reading the reviews i was beginning to panic as i had booked an RV through this company for 5 nights in September 2016. It was my fathers dream since he was a little boy to fish in Alaska.we did have to wait an extra couple of hours on our RV becoming available but they upgraded us to a larger model which we loved! the RV was clean and we had no problems with it whatsover! the staff were polite and apologised for the wait, although in all fairness it does state that the pick up time is not guaranteed, as do most RV companies state this! we travelled well over 1200 miles and had not a single problem with it. I would definitely recommend this company and will be using them again when we return next year. :) we made lots of cherish memories that will last a lifetime and Clippership helped make them posible.A big THANK YOU to all the staff!

Overall a decent experience. We are RV newbies but did a lot of research ahead of time. The receptionist’s explanation of how everything worked was cursory but not impatient.* Nice to have an RV for rainy weather, and the RV served this purpose.* 23’ rather than 19’ which was a “free upgrade.” We should have insisted on the size we really wanted, since we didn’t need the space and didn’t want to pay extra gas money. But we were able to leave without waiting for a smaller one, which worked out.* Leaky bathroom vent, but they fixed it really quickly while we stopped back through anchorage midway through our trip.* Had a flat tire after driving through gravel roads at a campground. We were able to get it fixed quickly and Clippership reimbursed the cost.* Pillows were completely flat or too poofy.* Everything inside was pretty squeaky. Maybe this is normal even for newer RVs, but we wouldn’t know since this was our first time.* Pretty dated, smelled a bit like a person who smoked regularly slept in it and tried to wash out the scent.* Service people were friendly.* Reception people helpful but not overly friendly. A little rude over the phone, and seemed quick to assume that we’d driven on roads we weren’t supposed to when we called about the flat tire. But again, we got that sorted and they reimbursed us for the fix.* I felt insecure most of the time because everything pretty squeaky and because of numerous statements of making us pay for stuff that might need repair. But we got our whole deposit back. We documented every issue we saw immediately, including taking a video walk-around of the RV before we left the parking lot.* we were told before booking that there were no road restrictions, but the rental agreement disallows Dalton, Denali Highway, McCarthy Road, and some others. We didn’t end up having time to do any of those anyway, but it was a little disconcerting to be told one thing before booking, start planning your trip with hopes of the McCarthy Road, and then have those hopes dashed on arrival.* Free shuttle was timely and convenient.I think the biggest tip is to document any issues you see as soon as you see them. That might help avoid the problem it seems like lots of people leaving reviews had with getting deposits back. We had no problem but we were also very cautious since it was our first time RVing.

Look elsewhere. Booked a 2019 model and when we arrived for pickup they had already gave our RV away so the options were to cancel or get the only other model they had which was a 2011 model with over 100k miles and looked WELL used. It definitely was weathered from the looks and the smell. There was no price difference given. We had already planned the trip and it was too short notice to even consider looking elsewhere so we got the vehicle. Upon arrival at destination we notice that when we use the kitchen sink the water goes all over the pavement outside. We notified dealer and they will evaluate when we get back. We’ve only driven on 100% paved roads. Well, we were charged for pipe damage. I’m not an unreasonable person but from start to end the dealer offered no compensation or apologies for their mess up and had the audacity to charge us extra. Be weary.

Literally poop coming out of their RV, Then they charged $250 for the poop! They plainly lied about their walkthrough process. They said they never would have sent an RV out with poop coming out of it, and yet the DVD player had its power cord chewed through by rodents and they sent that out no problem. I would recommend steering clear of this shady business

BEWARE! First of all, the management are DISHONEST. Last June, we rented one of their RVs for ten days. We had reserved a 19 months in advance, but when we got there they tried to pawn off a big old 27 dinosaur on us, telling us this is your vehicle that you reserved. It was our first time renting an RV, so we werent sure what was going on, but something just didnt feel right. A mechanic who came out to look at something (it wasnt working right, even before we left the parking lot) let slip that it was a 27-footer. So we made them honor our original reservation. We were going to stay in Denali at a campground with a 22 limit -- so if wed have driven up there in that bus according to what they told us, we would have been completely messed up! When we caught on to his scam, the manager was not at all apologetic, and instead was rude to us. Then we had to wait half a day, hanging around their parking lot, until they came up with a 19. We felt like we had dodged a bullet but it was overall a very unpleasant experience. SECOND: you can get an older, beat-up RV here for something like half of what you would pay anywhere else. But it may not be a bargain. The RV that we finally drove off in had the engine light come on almost immediately. The auxiliary battery was weak and wouldnt recharge effectively; it ended up dying halfway through our trip. It would take too long to list all the things wrong with it. We had a great trip anyway but it was in spite of Clippership. If you can afford to rent from someone else, I would recommend you do that.

I had a good experience with Clippership. I was super nervous renting with them after I read all of the terrible reviews online with no response from the company. Being though they were $500-$700 cheaper than the nearest rental company, I decided to give them a shot.Immediately upon arrival, I could tell why they were cheaper than everybody else. Ive rented from Great Alaskan Holiday before and their operation and office is very high end and the motorhomes were really nice. Clippership, not so much. They have a double wide trailer on their property and inside it smells like a cat box. Not nice! Once I was able to get the paperwork done and outside so that I could breath again, it was good. The motorhome that I rented was on the Gold package and it was nice. Not super amazing as it was pretty used and the couch was broken and not too comfortable to sit or sleep on.When we first picked up the motorhome, one of the back tires had a flat that they didnt catch upon the prior rental. They tried to fill it up and we could hear it leaking and ended up finding a nail in it. Within 10 minutes they had a new tire on the motorhome and we were on our way. Very sweet! We rented the motorhome for 6 days and didnt have any other issues with it. We had a 32 Gold package motorhome with 5 guys for fishing. We had a good experience with it and it drove really well.I ended up forgetting my flyrod and travel tube in the motorhome and called immediately to see if they could send it to me and take the shipping amount out of my deposit. They sent me my flyrod within a week and a half and charged me moderately. I was super, super excited!Ultimately, I thought that the customer experience was good, motorhome was good enough, but worth the price as it was $500 - $700 cheaper than anybody else. The office and operations were not as good as they could be, but again, for the $500, I can learn to hold my breath for a minute or two :)Overall, I would recommend this company if you are more budget minded. If you want a high end operation and dont mind the higher price tag, Great Alaska Holiday may be for you.

Everything was beyond perfect. I was initially concerned because of the negative reviews and I asked them about that. Their response, that people damage the vehicles and then are unhappy when they have to pay made a lot of sense. So I took a leap. They were by far the cheapest. Service was great. Friendly staff. Go out of their way to give you the best experience. The camper was beautiful. Some cosmetic dings but functionality was key to us and everything worked the way it was supposed to. The book they provide with the vehicle was invaluable and shows how much they care about your Alaskan experience. I was pleasantly surprised. I will never rent from anywhere else but here.

Think twice before renting from Clippership! Their equipment had many failures and their manager was not cooperative with an appropriate reimbursement compensation for them. We feel compelled to share the details below so our fellow RV renters can avoid the headaches caused by this business. For us, it was a disaster!Clippership Motorhome problems:First Clippership Motorhome (2019 Gulfstream)1. No cover on coffee pot - overflowed all over floor. We inspected and thought the little stopper had been removed from the basket, but it was a clear silicone piece that was still in place and it stopped the coffee from draining into the pot. We bought a new one, per Crystal, for $20 and were supposed to be reimbursed. Never happened!2. Microwave bracket was broke. Door barely opens, but scrapes badly on bracket when closing.3. Show stopper here: On the second night, the Rear Slider jammed and wouldn’t open. It blocked our bottom drawers, but we could still use the bed. We had to alter our vacation itinerary to swap out for a different vehicle. The motorhome determined our plans, rather than us going with our original itinerary.4. TV on/off switch was broken off, requiring the use of the remote. The remote batteries were dead for both TV and DVD, leaving both unusable!5. Screen door was missing an area by the handle, leaving a big opening for bugs to enter.6. Once, during the night, the furnace and fridge quit. Thought we were out of propane, but in the morning determined we still had over half a tank. Turned off main power cutout on a long shot and when I turned it back on, they both started immediately. It was dumb luck, but at least they were going again. When these things happened, we were back in Denali, far from any store or phone coverage. We left our campsite a day early and connected with Fuji, Clippership’s maintenance man, who arranged a vehicle swap with us. He asked us to start driving south from Denali and he would start driving north from Anchorage. We met at the 92 mile marker and transferred all our stuff in the rain, while parked in a muddy turnout along the road. We thought we’d be happily on our way….. NOT! We discovered more problems and drove the motorhome all the way back to Anchorage the next day for repairs, as noted below.Second Clippership Motorhome (2015 Coachman)1. Sink leaked underneath. The seal around the drain leaked, plus the plastic basin itself was cracked. Fuji replaced sink, however the right side still leaked when draining.2. Water heater wouldn’t stay lit. Fuji put in different control and igniter.3. Heat duct in bedroom was disconnected from tube and didn’t blow warm air. Fuji connected it properly, but still didn’t blow much air.4. Safety belt for overhead bunk was pulled loose on one side and seatbelt clip missing. Fuji screwed it back in place found a replacement clip from another unit.5. Only one tiny fry pan. We grabbed another from the old unit.6. Toaster missing. We grabbed the one from old unit.7. Battery dead in DVD remote. CR2025. Bought new battery, but still didn’t work.8. Thermostat didn’t show the setting because the digital screen was bad. Fuji replaced with a new one.9. The rear tailpipe clamp was broke. In general, the inside was very beat up and well used.10. The tank gauges didn’t work, resulting in one gray water backup into the shower.11. The blue sewer drain hose came off from the connector fitting during a black water dump. Bad scene!12. At the end of our trip we retrieved our brand new carry-on bag from one of the storage compartments underneath. It was soaked in muddy water from the times we drove in the rain.We wanted to be credited for the difference between a gold rental and a silver rental and be reimbursed for the 2 days the motorhome determined our plans and the time driving back to Anchorage and waiting the afternoon in their parking lot while repairs were made. Bill, the manager wouldn’t compensate us for any lost vacation time. He would only adjust for $200 since we had a gold motorhome for the first 3 days.

LAST OPTION! My experience with this place was not good at all. Given the fact my preferences is not high when it comes to camping. As long as there is somewhere comfortable to sleep, shower and potty were good. But what i do not like about this place is their customer service and way of handling business. Ron and i found this place when searching for rv rental last minute for our memorial weekend trip with friends. Last year we had a great experience with Great Alaska without any complaints. Customer service was great at a professional level and we were out of there on time. But due to their high daily rates we wanted to look around for something more affordable. And we found clippership, rates was within our budget and deposit was same. Listed below is why i am unhappy with them;-pickup was at 4pm and my husband did not leave till after 8pm-no one offered anything, not even a cup of coffee-Ron ended up asking them, what options does he have? hes been waiting too long (they were fixing the heater in our 32 size rv)-we were given a small 22 size rv then what we originally reserved (32k)-there was no price difference given-window curtains were broken-gray and black water panel monitor was giving us a FULL read when they were emptied and fully refilled-tags was expired (April 2020) memorial day is in May-we referred 5 friends to them (all rented rvs)-some of our friends rv heater was not working, some smelled like fish odor inside, broken table leg, stained chairs, no microwave handle, dirty linens and pillow cases etc. With most of our friends being first time rv renter, clippership made their experience a bad one. I do not recommend this place to those who seek a clean and nice looking rv for rent. If so great alaska will be your best bet. But if not, you can give it a try with these guys just be sure you get your moneys worth. We did save about $400 renting from them but the issues we had to deal with (listed above) i will not want to go through it again, especially with planning to be out of town miles and miles away from home with my family....i have ZERO TOLERANCE FOR THIS KIND OF SERVICE! They helped us with all our questions, were very patient with the kids and very courteous to us. The RV was clean and equipped with bedding and cooking needs. We traveled for 10 days, visited family and all went well. When we had to be at the airport rather early Clippership allowed us to spend the night in their parking lot, unpack the next morning and then drive us back to the airport.....again at no charge. We were very impressed with this company and especially the people who work there. I highly recommend Clippership and will rent from them for my next trip to Alaska!

If you have any choice dont rent from this place. The RV was supposed to be scheduled to be picked up at noon. When we got there they didnt have our reservation. Luckily the owner came in and said I can give you an upgrade to a bigger Class A, but it will be 4 hours until its ready. We decided to wait because we didnt have any choice. Finally after 4 hours they call and say its ready. We go and pick it up and its no longer the upgraded motor home we were promised. It was the original class C that we reserved. Then one of the staff dropped there phone in the RV while cleaning, (not clean at all, except may the sheets?). My husband being the man he is answered the phone and agreed to meet up to give the person their phone. Needless to say I will never rent from them again, there was no apology for making us over 5 hours late leaving town, no discount, no upgrade and a dirty motor home covered in dust and gunk.

The ”manager” or the son of the owner is not shy to intimidate you and will be explicit about ripping people off with his questionable staff. And dont get in an accident or always get full coverage insurance. Work that would cost $500 will be jacked up to $5000 and they do their repairs ”in house” with equally questionable ”mechanics”

After reading the negative reviews and the Better Business Bureau complaints, I was uneasy about renting from Clippership. However, my plans were last-minute, and they were the only agency with a 32-foot BunkHouse RV available. As it turned out, the experience was great. They picked up my whole family at the airport promptly in a shiny new shuttle bus, got our RV ready in a reasonable amount of time, and sent us on our way. The RV was also brand new (a 2015 model delivered from the factory this spring), and everything worked. I paid the $30/day insurance to get the deductible down to $500, for peace of mind. Yes, they added on a $500 deposit, and it took nearly two weeks after the return for them to refund it to my credit card. So what?Other reviewers have complained that Clippership sometimes finds a way to keep the damage deposit, such as a cracked or starred windshield (happens a lot in Alaska -- lots of road construction and loose gravel). They didnt do that in my case, but they were $700 cheaper than the competition for my 1-week rental. Even if they had kept the $500 deposit, I would still have been $200 ahead, plus the competition didnt have the RV I wanted available. Thanks, Clippership!

Our experience with Clippership Motorhome Rental was excellent. They picked us up at the airport upon arrival and took us to the Hilton downtown when we returned the vehicle. The office staff and the courtesy van drivers could not have been more helpful and nice. Lee and all of the office staff went out of their way to assure that we were satisfied. The vehicle performed perfectly and our deposit was returned to our credit card within 2 weeks. This was the first time we rented a motorhome and WE would definitely return to Clippership for a future RV rental in Alaska.Sincerely, Ken & Debbie

Update 8/29: While it did take a bit, 14 days, no problem getting my deposit back. Didn’t have to reach out to Clippership or anything. Simply checked my CC statement online and saw the cebit amount of $500.I was hesitant about Clippership because of the various reviews but they were the best priced rental place by far; only one that had mileage included. And I’m glad we did. No problems whatsoever! We went with the gold level and at these prices, why not?!? Already saved a lot and going to try to save a few more bucks for an older model? You get what you pay for and well worth the few bucks more for a later model. RVs can be cheaply made to begin with, nothing to do with Clippership, and rental people can be brutal on rental equipment. We ended up with one of their newest vehicles with only 11,000 miles on it. So I strongly recommend the few bucks more for a newer model. Our flight was delayed and Clippership did all they could with accommodating our constantly changing schedule, to the point of having the RV ready 2 hours early.I worked mostly with Salim who was always friendly on the various calls I had to make to Clippership. In finally making it to the office for pickup, both Salim and Coral were personable and friendly and we were all joking and making each other laugh. Even the what I assume was the matriarch of the business was cracking a smile. We did have to go back because we forgot the chairs and the grill we rented, and it did take a bit to get the grill (note the grill rental is only 7 bucks so don’t expect much, remember, you get what you pay for. But it did the trick and we used it most nights). Not sure if it’s because it took a bit for the grill or because I ‘took care of’ Salim after going through the RV (it’s called tipping people. After all, it is a service industry) but we also got a bag of charcoal and lighter fluid with the grill. More than 7 bucks right there!I would definitely use Clippership again with no concern.

If I could give them a big fat zero I would! Im a local Alaskan and have rented from multiple RV rental companies. This is by far the worst rental experience EVER! They called the day before we left to tell us the RV we reserved wouldnt be available. They offered us a crappy older RV which we declined. Then they came up with another one, assured us it would be ready to go the next day. We picked it up and had to clean it before using it. The gas tank had 1/4 tank of gas and propane wasnt full. Total gas scam. They rely on people returning these with more gas and propane than they left with. We found a used toothbrush in the bunk bed, The awning didnt work, no batteries in the remotes, and dirty silverware. Then to top it off they dont return your deposit for 10 days. Its on a credit card. Pretty easy to refund immediately. This place is a total scam. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! They will ruin your vacation.

Dont go for this store! They took your $500 deposit without any reason! We used their service this summer. The RV is very old, more than ten years old. The smell is bad. The air-condition sometimes worked, sometimes not. But, the worst part is that they refused to return the deposit. They did not say anything when we returned the vehicle. Everything they checked was fine. Then, after two months, I did not receive my deposit and called them. They said that the spare tire was missing. Together with some other mechanic problem, they charged me $500. Who would take their spare tire? to the airplane? It is ridiculous. Besides, why it costs $500 that is enough for four new tires? It is very disgusting. I highly suggest NOT to rent RV here. Do not let your Alaska trip stained with these ugly service.

We were traveling for a short 5 day fishing vacation. We scheduled to pick up our rental rev at 12:00 noon. We called for the shuttle and waited 45 minutes to an hour for them to pick us up. When we arrived at the rental office we were told the rev would be ready in 20 minutes or so. 5-1/2 hours later we received our tired RV which was in marginal shape. Having exterior compartment doors which would not completely close, one door had a 12 tear in the middle of the door. While going through the walk through one of the tires had a 4 cut in the side wall. An hour later the tire was replaced with a very old one and finally we were on the road. Ten miles down the road we noticed the check engine light was on but all of the gauges read good so we continued. As we headed up in to the mountains we noticed that the floor was wet apparently leaking from an overflow vent.Once on the Glenn highway which can be a little rough we noticed the steering wheel shaking after hitting some mild bumps in the road. Obvious front end issues. It was clear that this company does not properly maintain their vehicles judging from the poor condition of the equipment.Once we returned the vehicle they looked it over and said it was in good condition and said we could go. They offered me no paperwork or receipt testifying of the condition of the vehicle until I asked for one.Bottom line this company at best is a disorganized fiasco worthy of a reality show, or at worse care little for their customers satisfaction and perhaps hold their clientele with contempt. I would not recommend this rental company to my worst enemy. One star is much too generous of a rating for such a horrible company.

Dont rent from this company! Waiting at the airport for their free shuttle, we were told that it would be 15 min for the shuttle to arrive, and it took an hour. Then, we had to wait over two hours for our RV to be ready, despite having scheduled a 1pm pick up. After checking in, we were told the RV would be ready in 15 min, then came to find out that it hadnt even been cleaned when the clerk told us this information. The RV itself was also very disappointing. The pillows were flat, the sheets very old and cheap, only one thin fleece blanket per bed and the kitchen was stocked poorly. The wood work was dinged up and the upholstery dirty. Plus, the fridge leaked. When returning the RV the clerk was rude. They wont return your deposit until 2 weeks after you return the unit, because they need to make sure there is no damage they didnt see on the walk through. Seriously? You need two weeks to do that? What a joke for a business. Go elsewhere for your RV needs when in Alaska. We saw many nicer units on the road from other companies.

We did some research and found out they had the most affordable rates. We rented a 22ft motor home with 155k miles. Soon after leaving the place, there was a large amount of noice/sputtering coming from the engine. The check engine light was on, but they said that it was fine. Just the light indicator was damaged (who knows if they were telling the truth). While driving home, the noise and shaking that came from the entire motor home grew. We checked under the car and everything was coated with a thick layer of grease. We decided we didn’t feel comfortable driving this as far as we were going to be traveling so we took it back to see if we could get it upgraded due it’s poor status. We get there and the mechanic takes it for a ride. He shadily talks to the sales rep quietly whispering. From what I could hear, they said something about them waiting on a part for the engine but it should still be fine to drive... This seemed wrong/off. We did not feel comfortable driving this machine. They unfortunately had none to swap even though I called early that day and said they had plenty in stock.Overall, bad customer service from the rep. And shady business practices. From reading other reviews, sounds like this is common practice for this business.

This company had all the earmarks and reviews to make one avoid it. My experience was actually quite good. Give them a break! I rented an ACE 30 foot motorhome for eight days which performed admirably. 7 miles to the gallon but a lot of smooth and reliable miles, and the camping and housekeeping portions of the RV were excellent! I had originally signed up for a smaller camper and it was an 04 model with tons of miles so I switched to a bigger unit and was accommodated without any drama. The lock on the only door to the unit broke while we were hundreds of miles away and we macgivered it to be usable and they were very understanding when we returned and explained it. The girls in the office were attentive and the boss (bosss son, actually) were very friendly with us. Dont use a brokerage service for these guys, go direct and save some money. READ THIS BEFORE CHOOSING TO RENT FROM HERE. Clippership RV Rentals is running a complete and total scam to prey on tourists thousands of miles away to avoid lawsuits. Yes, they were so bad I seriously considered pursuing the $1,000+ that they stole from me; however, it is not worth the travel costs to head back up to Alaska. Therefore, this review will have to do. Lets start out from the beginning, prior to heading up to Alaska I obviously looked into renting an RV in order to secure one. I found Clippership RV Rentals and their website looked promising enough. However; there were no photos of actual RVs or motorhomes on the site. Instead, there were floor plan layouts of the RVs. In the end, I decided to go with them as their price was better than other rental places that still had availability. Flash forward to me arriving in Alaska, I went to Clippership. My initial impressions were not good. The office was a run-down mobile home, and to get up to the office I literally had to walk through human feces that a worker cleaned up by pouring two 1-gallon jugs of water on it. Upon entering their office I was genuinely scared that I would get mugged based on the looks of the workers. Thats why I am surprised that these five workers with a combined IQ of maybe 40 would be capable of running such a malicious scheme like this, but the world continues to amaze me. After the person at the front desk finally put down his phone, he called in the back to summon HER... Thats all I will say about HER, but I wouldnt recommend finding out who she is. We did the paper work before they would show us the RV, and afterwords we were brought out to our unit. This is when things really got bad. Immediately after walking in you could see the disaster. The floor had a literal hole in it about 4 inches in diameter, there were two more soft spots nearly 1 foot in diameter that could easily disintegrate when weight was applied, the back cushions for the couch had a metal bracket that was torn away from the wall pointed straight out like a jagged and sharp knife, the refrigerator had plywood chunks in it, the entire sink was rusted, and the head rest for the driver and passenger seats were broken. This last part is the worst, if you get into an accident with no supportive headrest you are much more likely to sustain serious injury. This was obviously unacceptable, so I asked to be provided with an acceptable RV. They then went to the back and rolled out a shiny two year old RV that looked great. After I inspected this unit I said that I would take it. However, they said Great, that will be $120 more a night. This was when I was through with them. They obviously run this scam every single day to squeeze more money out of tourists with no other options . They rent you a unit that is illegal to drive, and then force you to pay extra for the tolerable unit. This is unacceptable, and should not be allowed. At this point I basically had to hold my self back from doing something that I should not write about on the internet, and rented a Toyota Camry and went along with my vacation. In conclusion, please do not rent from this place. It is disgusting, vulgar, illegal, and being on the premises will most likely lower your IQ as their stupidity is surely contagious. I also could not get my money back even though I hadnt driven the RV for a second. Thats all from me, I hope I saved you from ruining a part of your great vacation. P.S. I will try and find pictures of the RV that I took to upload them along with another review to show you the horrors within a Clippership RV.

We have dealt with this company twice. The first time was okay, a few minor problems but nothing that we couldnt sort out ourselves. The second time we had trouble with the slide from the start. When we returned the camper we advised them of this. They said we must have hit something, which we hadnt and had photos of its condition when we returned it. We could not get our deposit back and we could not get a reasonable explanation from them. Their reasons kept changing but we know that the camper went back out the same day that we returned it. We are frequent visitors to Alaska but have not and will not use this company again. Be very wary on returning your camper and get a clearance before you leave their yard. Otherwise you may be very lucky to get your deposit back!

Clippership RV dont have rude staff, but the service speed is exceptionally slow. We were among a 3 or 4 groups who waited hours upon hours for our rv to be ready after the arranged pickup time.Allow a LOT of flexibility in getting to your destination as you may be here several hours before your vehicle is ready. Also the RV I booked was given away and they tried to offer an upgrade to a much bigger model. Not ideal for us as there is only two of us and larger vehicle is a bigger liability.Would have been great to get a heads up that the vehicle was hours away from being ready.Would go with someone else next time even if the price was more. Rented in July 2015. We rented a Class A Motorhome, we arrived the day before and were ready early so I called them they said no problem your RV will be ready and they came for us at the hotel. We arrived at Clippership around 10:30, the RV was originally supposed to be ready at 1:00. We did the paperwork and they told us it wasnt quite ready yet. We waited with all our luggage outside for the RV to be ready. My husband did a walked around the outside of the RV and noticed both front steer tires where balding, he refused to take that RV with the tires in that condition, we told the office people, after several of them came out and looked they called their mechanic to look at these tires. The mechanic looks at the tires and says to my husband, which is a mechanic, I will be honest I dont know anything about tires!!!! So they made calls and first where going to have us take 1 hour out of our vacation and sit in a garage to fix this, but then they got the idea to rob another RV of its tires. Then we noticed duct tape on the awning and was told oh we dont guarantee those to work!! My husband fixed it in the parking lot. The extra money we spent renting a BBQ was a waste, we got what looked like a filthy popcorn maker, and the folding chairs, if you are a child or under 50 lb these will work for you. MY RECOMMENDATION, do the walk around with them, point out every ding and get a copy of your sheet with the initial as well as the return. We finally got on our way around 1:30 after waiting in the parking lot for 3 hours!! We started the RV and headed out the check engine light was on the whole time. No issues with the RV, but did hold our breath hoping it made it the whole time we had it. One disappointment when I made the reservation the year before I was told via email I would be renting a new 2015 RV this one was a 2011!! Definitely not what we expected! Also, clean it yourself, we left there went to a Walmart bought Lysol wipes and wiped everything down, the first swipe with the wipe was DISGUSTING!! I dont image they have many repeat customers. Will be back to Alaska and will rent another RV but not from Clippership!!

This was our first RV experience so as complete rookies, I’m sure some of the frustrating things we experienced were simply rookie expectations where our expectations were higher than what we were getting but that’s ok.Generally speaking, I suppose, the RV was in acceptable condition for one with 80,000 miles on it, though it seemed many of the gauges (namely grey and black tank levels) didn’t work properly, however after we acclimated ourselves to a moving hotel, we were fine. The only recommendation that would have been most helpful for us would have been a bit more thorough explanation of the dumping process and more clarification on the use of propane for heat and use/need of the generator. I cannot necessarily fault the folks at Clippership for this, again, as a complete rookie, it would have been much more enjoyable had we known more at the time we picked up the RV aboutvthese things. Ask lots of questions folks!Positive experience overall and lots of great family memories in our first RV excursion!

Almost ruined our vacation! I would never rent from Clippership again and strongly recommend that no one does.First, Clippership switched our RV and did not give us what we reserved. We paid for an RV that was supposed to be no older than two years old and capable of sleeping six adults. We ended up with one that was three years old and only slept five adults so one of our children had to sleep on the filthy floor. We were supposed to pick it up at 1:00 pm and didnt leave the parking lot until almost 5:00 pm.Our first night out we tried to run the furnace but the batteries wouldnt hold a charge so we had to leave the campground and camp along the road so we could run the generator. When we called the office for help, they just told us to go to the nearest town and buy batteries ourselves. Well, we had already wasted some of our vacation waiting for the RV in the first place and werent about to waste anymore time driving four hours out of our way to buy batteries. The person we talked to at Clippership said they would call us back to offer assistance but never did. Customer service, as noted below, was terrible! The mechanic tried to argue with us telling us that the batteries were not a problem because we had a 2015 model. We looked at the manufacturing tag and found out it was built in 2013 not 2015 so yes, the batteries were the problem! By the way, it had over 44,000 miles on it.When we brought the motor home back, we brought these issues to staffs attention and again, one of the workers tried to argue with us that we should have bought the batteries ourselves. I could have lived with that problem if it was an isolated one but not having the right year or size and having to wait almost four hours to pick it up added to the frustration. Now, for the best of customer service. Having the mechanic argue with us and having the clerk argue with us was not the worst. The worst was the fight that broke out between two of the staff members. When I say fight, I literally mean a fight. A fight that started in the office and spilled out onto the porch and parking lot. Two women punching, pulling hair, wrestling and using foul language. Right in front of me! What kind of place is this? Please do yourself a favor and dont rent from this terrible place!

(Should be NO stars...) First things first: STAY AS FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AS YOU CAN!!!!This review is on my behalf of my Father, who doesnt use a computer much and asked me to leave this for him.Clippership had the best rates, so we booked our rental through them. Picking up the RV was fairly smooth, other than all the damage on the unit that they wanted us to sign a waiver stating there was none. We took photos of all the damage prior to leaving the site to document. We were only about 45 minutes South of Anchorage when the brakes started to act up, feeling soft and then the brake light came on. We happened to be at our camping spot for the night anyway, so at least that was good. Once stopped we checked the brake fluid in the vehicle and the reservoir was not only completely empty, it was 100% DRY. The fluid had not recently just leaked out, it simply had not been serviced or checked in quite some time. Since it was later in the evening and the office would be closed we waited until morning to call Clippership. It took them 6 or 7 hours to bring a different unit out to us, and the until they brought was only a 21 foot, but we had paid for a 28 (A $700 price difference, FYI). That delay also caused us to skip a stop on our itinerary. The rest of our trip was fine, no more issues with the RV. However, when we arrived back at the Clippership site they refused to give back the difference in pricing from the change of unit ($700, remember?).Heres the BIG thing, though. The rental that broke down and could have left us stranded, was obviously not full of fuel and propane... THEY CHARGED US FOR THAT FUEL AND PROPANE! So, let me get this straight. They wanted us to drive a rental with no brakes back into ANC to get it filled up?? SERIOUSLY?? How ridiculous is that?!

It got us up and down the BEAUTIFUL SEWARD HIGHWAY, no problem. We didnt use the oven or stove (the oven door was dented, how does that happen?), but the microwave was fine. The right side door rear view mirror was jumpy (and taped, huh?) but we delt with it. Overall, we had a fantastic time and a trip of a lifetime, thanks to Clipperships. I finished my RV trip in Alaska for the July 4th holiday. We rented TURNAGAIN VOYAGER 32 BUNKHOUSE GOLD. My overall experience with the company is 1 star. I am sharing my experience here to help future travelers make better travel decision. Why did I choose this company at the first place?1. The RV they offered is the largest among many companies like abc, great alaska holiday. TURNAGAIN VOYAGER 32 model could in theory fit in 9 people in total.2. Price wise, this is the most affordable RV for the holiday season when I quoted.3. They offered a sleep at bumper service if you book additional day and will reimburse your taxi fare. This was good to us as we arrive late to ANC and wanted to depart early the next morning. The checkout experience was OK. I used about 2 hours to finish all documentation, getting rented grill and chairs, orientation etc. It was a busy day and most of time we were just kept and wait.On the road we discovered several issues with the motor home.1. The side mirror was broken.2. Windshield Washer Fluid was empty after 3-4 uses.3. Toilet Sewer (black indicator) was not functioning well.4. Refrigerator does have a smell.TURNAGAIN VOYAGER 32 BUNKHOUSE GOLD is their most expensive and latest model and I could still see these problems. This makes me a little disappointed for the company. But they are not critical issues so we kind of ignore them.At the time of return, they claimed there is a damage at the left side trimmer. We have no idea of how we caused this but they showed us the picture taken before. We asked him how much it costs to repair. The manager responded almost immediately this would cost 700. We all thought this is far more than actual cost. We asked why it is 700 and the manager just name a few parts and told us each part (even include a sticker) would cost 100 dollars and shipping would cost 100 dollars. He initially said we could get him whatever part and he will deduct from the bill. Obviously, we dont believe the sticker could cost 100. The way they do damage assessment is they name a price and you gotta accept it. You have no idea whether they are going to repair it or not. We were absolutely very angry of the blame and process and the manager said he could increase the bill of we do not agree upon on 700 dollars repair cost (thats exactly why he crossed out 700 on the rental part receipt and fill in a sticker (75 dollars) and increase the total to 775. All of these absolutely make no sense to us. The manager was very rude to us for the whole process and does not listen to our questions. He simply blame that we knew nothing about RV and knew nothing about how much the repair could cost. Honestly, we dont knew much so thats why I wrote the whole experience here and posted the photos and bills here. I hope all of these could help future travelers make better decisions.

I would highly recommend Clippership to my family & friends and would certainly use them again. Clippership is a caring, family owned business that wants your Alaska time to be special.Their inventory is huge, which consists of gently used, rented vehicles. Their top priority is to provide a safe RV with a rock solid engine, great tires, a clean interior, everything in good working order, and with all the provisions. Our experience was excellent. We actually needed the vehicle earlier than expected. They quickly accommodated and found another vehicle. We didnt have to wait. We signed papers, did a tutorial walk through, and we were ready to go. We added groceries and everything else was there. We soon discovered driving through Alaska in an RV is the dream vacation.Soon, we realized that we actually didnt remember everything about the tutorial, but found in the cabinet, a complete written guide covering everything. We figured out how to run GFI plugs, where breakers were, etc. Everything went smoothly. We never found anything wrong, missing, broken, or worn with our RV.We stopped by Clipperships office in the middle of our vacation simply because we were looking for a dump station. They quickly dumped us, filled our water, checked our battery power, and on everything else. Then, we were again, happily on our way. The entire team at Clippership works very hard to provide you with an extremely safe, reliable RV and they want you to enjoy every minute of your Alaskan vacation. They exceeded all of our expectations! 5 stars all the way! Also, their prices are by far the best of any RV rental in Alaska.

I have read some of the reviews and Im floored at them. I am sorry so many of you had such a terrible experience with Clippership Rentals. Our experience started with a shuttle picking up my son and I at the airport. The gal who picked us up was great to talk to and actually pretty cool as she wore a Terry Bradshaw jersey (my favorite team). When we arrived at the rental place, a gal went through the motorhome with us. I took pictures of every little dent, crack, scrape, and busted piece of whatever I could find to protect myself and my deposit. That also included the five cracks and chips in the windshield. We had a broken outdoor light above the side door and a low tire. They fixed that immediately (although it should have been fixed before we arrived). We took off and two days later we returned from Seward with a tire that went flat each day, taillights out, one headlight out, and the panel that controls the heat, generator, water pump, etc: actually fell out of the wall. We stopped in and showed them all the interesting stuff that is going wrong. One of the gals in charge immediately grabbed 4 workers and put one on each job. All issues were taken care of within 30 minutes and we were back on the road. The motorhome was rough inside but ran well and got the job done for us. We enjoyed our trip and despite a set back with some things that they repaired immediately, it was nice to have the motorhome vs. a hotel so we could stay mobile and move around easier. Upon returning the motorhome, a young gal came out to go through things. I indicated what I would upgrade immediately for the next folks renting the RV and she said thank you and called over a couple of workers to take care of those little things. My deposit was credited in full and was done so on the 12th business day. We had a decent experience at Clippership and appreciated the prompt service when we stopped in.

Dont believe the cheap rates. The first night in the RV it was raining and got woken up by the bed being soaked. Come to found out the window leaked water and you couldnt use the bed the rest of the two weeks. The back floor of the RV by the bunks was rotted out and the only thing not letting you fall thru was the linoleum holding you up. Turned the heater on one night and found the thermostat was broken so the heat would never turn off. The third night of having it the person up in the overhead bed got woken up also with there bed being soaked. Other than all of that excitement the RV did drive and run ok. Dont believe everything you see on there websight. Pay a little more and rent from someone else.

This place is a complete joke. They told us the rv would be ready at noon. When we showed up the rv wasnt ready we waited for over 5 hours before we were giving a dirty rv. We paid for a linen pack and all we got was couple sheets. No one had blankets and we only had 2 towels. The slide broke twice and wouldnt move in or out. We called them and at first they acted like we could just deal with it like that. After we told them that wasnt acceptable they finally told us how to fix it. This place doesnt care about their customers they just care about how much money they can make. Avoid this place at all costs.

1) The heater stopped working on site resulting in RV temp going down to 50 degrees; 2) the generator never worked on site, which Kirill (the check in guy) said was no big deal; 3) the refrigerator quit working; I refuted my bill & Kirill called the Police, but actually refused to talk to the Police or cooperate with the Police investigation when they arrived; I returned the non-functional RV but Clippership refused to refund the unused days - said I would get a 10% refund.Less than one star is the true rating.I paid a lower rate & got taken.

My friend and I rented an RV from this company and it was a horrible experience! Dont ever rent from this company, unless you plan for your trip to have delays, breakdowns, and bad customer service.Right from the start it took almost three hours to pick up the motorhome we had rented. They told my friend to stand by the RV and they would be out shortly to do the walk around inspection, and he stood out there for over an hour waiting for an employee to come out. The motorhome was old and damaged and had over 124,000 miles on it. No option was extended to get a different model or upgrade.Within the first 48hrs of having the motorhome it started breaking down and lost power on the highway. We found a turn off and called Clippership and they refused to do anything to help us. We were literally stranded on an Alaskan highway in an RV rented from a company who took zero responsibility or action to help us. We sat on the phone being transferred between at least 4 different employees, all of whom had no idea what they were doing and had the worst customer services skills I have ever experienced. At this point, sitting on the side of the highway, my friend also noticed that the registration tags on the RV had expired! He mentioned this to one of the employees and said that we were driving illegally and the employee rudely scolded him for taking the RV off their lot with expired tabs. The employee then put my friend on the phone with someone else and proceeded to call him an a**hole in the background. We were eventually put on the phone with the owner who refused to do anything to help us until the unit was completely dead on the side of the road. This was just the beginning of our 5 day rental and trip across Alaska (where there is often no cell service or other drivers for hours at a time). There was a large pocket of water in the bedroom wallpaper that bubbled up in the window frame when touched. The bedframe was broken and even collapsed one night. The check engine light was on the entire trip (flashing occasionally). There was extensive body/cosmetic damage all the way around the entire motorhome. The RV had a horrible rattle and shake when running that just got worse throughout our trip, and the retractable step outside the door was missing when we picked it up.We returned the motorhome on the 7th of the month and did not receive the deposit back until the 24th, and even then only received $294 of the original $500. This is after returning the RV with a full fuel tank and paying extra to not have to fill the propane tanks. My friend called Clippership to find out why we didnt get the entire deposit back and the employee he talked to couldnt tell him why. They had no clue what we were being charged $206 for! We later received a call back and was told that we were charged the additional $206 because we returned the motorhome on the 9th of the month, which was a day late. We were both on a flight home after dropping it off on the evening of the 7th.As of right now this has been a $1,250+ five day nightmare that still hasnt been resolved three weeks later. I highly discourage anyone from renting from this company. Spend the extra money and rent from a more reputable company who actually cares about and takes care of their customers and equipment.
