Good communication with what to expect upon arrival- taking a taxi there and getting a ride back in the rental car to the airport. Price was the best and he gave us a credit when we returned the car a day early. Highly recommend. You will be in good hands. Our car worked great for us!

We had an excellent experience with Alaska Express Car Rental on our recent trip. We landed at 2 am and grabbed one of the waiting taxis for the short drive to the rental facility where our car was waiting as promised. The Alaska Express Car Rental employees were very courteous and also gave us great travel tips for visiting their beautiful state. We had a wonderful time driving up to Denali and down to Seward and many places in between. The car was wonderful and we had zero issues. When it was time to head back to the airport we simply gave them a call and headed that way. We settled our bill, which was exactly as quoted when the reservation was made and we were given a ride to the airport. I highly recommend Alaska Express Car Rental if you are flying into Anchorage. They gave us a great start and finish to our Alaska vacation!

I reserved a car months in advance. The brothers were polite and friendly. Came to our hotel and picked us up. Our car was clean and a newer model. When I took it back, they took us to the airport. These guys were fantastic! During the great rental car shortage of 2021 they were able to set me up with a vehicle for 18 days(!) even on shorter notice (~6 weeks). The car was ready for me when I arrived and we were chatting about the UEFA games the whole time we were filling out paperwork. They even recommended some sports bars to check out the games at!The vehicle ran great and when I returned they had a complimentary shuttle back to the airport for me. The price never changed despite the crazy fluctuations of prices in just a few months, and they were as reasonable as they could be with the limited inventory. Overall I would definitely be a repeat customer if I return to AK.

Not located at airport but a quick cab ride (around $10) away. We booked really early (like 4 months out) and got a fantastic rate...so fantastic that I was afraid they would cancel just to get more money from someone else. The honored their commitment and we got a perfect car at a fabulous price!! The car was a 2017 Dodge Caravan and we were so thankful that it had navigation. We were thinking we could use online maps but there are many places that have no service. The car was clean and pick up/drop off was easy. When I go back to Anchorage, I will most definitely use Alaska Express Car Rental again...give them a try!!

Recieved a great deal, and timely responses during a busy travel time! We probably booked about a month in advance. Very close to the airport, and they shuttle you back to the airport when departing back home. Highly recommend.

I cannot speak highly enough about Alaska Express Car Rental. Normally Id book through one of the big companies websites, but there is a major car shortage. I booked my car 2 and a half month in advance. They honored my price and the car was ready and waiting when we arrived. It was a clean, newer car with Bluetooth and touchscreen. You can tell they care about their cars and customers. To save on costs, they cant pick you up at the airport (because the airport charges fees) but its an easy, cheap Lyft/Uber/taxi ride. They will take you where you need to go after dropoff. I honestly think any of the negative reviews you may have seen must have been about another company. There are some shady operators out there, but Alaska Express Car Rental is NOT one of those.

Tried getting a quote and instead got a mass amount of spam emails and no phone call from the company. When I called to inquire the salesman was rude and stated that they had no vehicles until September and everyone was reading their website improperly.

Extremely bad customer service also... reserved a car two months in advance and email confirmation said that our reservations were made and two days before the trip we called and they were extremely rude and said that they had no cars to rent. The person who answered the phone said he was the supervisor and hung up on me when i said he was being rude.

If I could give a 0 star rating I would. The man on the phone was rude and could care less about you. We booked our rental car reservation with them over three months in advance and called to confirm our reservation a month before our trip and turns out they didn’t even reserve our car. No consideration for our early booking—only said that there were no available cars. Terrible service.

I had a great experience renting here. My impression was that this is a great family business, very friendly to customers, with good prices, cars in great technical condition and location very near the airport. I can only recommend this place.At first, I wanted to rent at the airport, but all the big car rentals at the airport were out of cars or had crazy high rates. This car rental is close to the airport and was very near to my accommodation as well. Owners were super nice; I wanted to do a bit of exploring around Anchorage and they gave me several grate recommendations. The car had 75k miles and several minor scratches but was clean and was running great. They documented all the small scratches before handing me the car.

I do not usually post reviews but this was an exceptional experience so I wanted to share. This is a family owned business and you realize this as you go through the paperwork and inspection process. They are very kind, patient, and understanding. They are laid back and friendly not just before but also after you return the vehicle as they were more than willing to take me back to my hotel after I returned the van. Prices and integrity are what also set them apart from the rest. They were BY FAR the most reasonable price for the minivan that our family needed to get around Alaska and what they gave me their word on they followed through with! I wont be getting a vehicle anywhere else when we come to visit family here.

Great experience renting a car here to take up to Denali and then down to Kenai before back to Anchorage again. Cheapest rates I could find in Anchorage and a very short ride from the airport. Clean newer model mid size that gave us over 500 miles per tank of gas. Really nice guys running the place and a free ride back to the airport. What more can you ask for? Will definitely use again next time Im in Anchorage.

A 1.5mi uber ride from the airport and then a quick round of paperwork and vehicle inspection before youre off. Owners are so friendly and they do not pressure the customer at all. This is the only car rental place I have went to that did not look at me like I had made some mistake and charge me hidden fees once I reached the counter. Cannot recommend enough.

These brothers work their tail off! Amazing business that I would recommend to anyone. Much better than going to a chain car rental company. I will call these guys next time we need a car in Anchorage!

Couldnt recommend this car rentals place more! The process was very easy, car was flawless, and its the best deal in town to boot. The owner was incredibly accommodating, and we appreciated his welcoming demeanor. We would definitely use this company again!

Classical bait and switch scam .. at least it was in my case. I made reservation online in advance based on $75 all inclusive daily rate. Never got a confirmation so I followed up. Some guy picked up the phone and said they are having problems with the online reservation system and he will send a quote. Much to my surprise I received a $134/day (!!!) quote. When I questioned it he referred to the * disclaimer indicating that rates may change based on availability, time of year ... etc. I understand up-selling but this is too much. I can get a car from the big name companies for this price. Planning a travel across the continent with the family is hard enough and no one should have to deal with such a situation. We ended up renting from A1 Car Rental on Spenard Rd for $100/day all inclusive. The lot is somewhat shabby but the owner (Stan) is an awesome guy and extremely helpful. Good luck.

Had a much better rate than other companies. Very helpful with shuttling me back to my Hotel and picking me up at the train station. They were very polite and professional. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

Highly recommend Alaska Express Car Rental. Originally I made the reservation because they were the only car rental company that is open 24/7 in the Anchorage area. We arrived at Anchorage airport at 1am and took a short Lyft ride to Alaska Express Car Rental which is a located about a mile and a half outside the airport. Their prices were the best in town and their service was excellent. All cars are newer models and well maintained. Upon returning the car they drove us back to our hotel and when I accidentally forgot something in the car, they made a special trip back to the hotel to return it to me. You cant go wrong renting from Alaska Express Car Rental. I will definitely use them again on another trip to Alaska.

Rents cars at excellent prices, and unlike many other rental companies they allow their cars to be taken on gravel roads. Owner Ersin goes out of his way to provide good service. We went about 1,500 miles in the car and had no problems with it. Highly recommend.

Affordable rates and friendly, attentive service. I was also able to get a mid-size car which was not available at other rentals given the high demand this time of year, and certainly not at this lower rate had they been. I also appreciated that the car was well-maintained, and though it had some miles on it, I got good gas mileage.

- We Landed really early around 3 am in Anchorage. Good thing was that they work 24 hour. The place is under 15 mins from airport. The Person in charge was very helpful and provide us with a great car. Initially we were looking for a compact or small car as it is just 2 of us. As all cars were in high demand, he managed to give us full size car(Ford Taurus)in great condition at an affordable rate. On our way back they even dropped us to the airport without charge. Over all great service.

Went on a last minute trip to Alaska back in August 2019 and because the airports did not have any more online car reservations we decided to rent from a private company. Alaska Express Car Rental had availability so we reserved one. When we showed up, the man who helped us was extremely friendly, got us set up with a car and we were on our way. The car was ok, nothing obviously wrong with it and we stopped in Anchorage for dinner. That afternoon when we headed out on the highway, the air conditioning oddy shut off. Thinking it was a mistake, I fiddled with all the controls, read the user manual and looked it up on the internet. There was no obvious reason it should have shut off and when we got off the freeway, it turned back on. It was obvious it was a glitch when the car was running over a certain MPH. We tried going on the freeway once again with the exact same thing happening. Finally, we called the agency back, explained the situation and asked if they had any more cars. The man said, no they did not but assured us if we were to rent from another company he would give us a full refund, as the defect was in the car he had rented us. We were able to procure another car from a different company and my husband and I drove the separate cars back to Alaska Express. This is where things went from annoying to downright intimidating. The man who we had rented from and talked to on the phone immediately informed us to get back in the car for a test ride. We explained, no we had already spent 2 hours messing around with the bad car and renting a new one, we just wanted to get on with our vacation. He then got in the car himself and took off leaving us standing there, wondering what was going to happen. When he returned he informed us NOTHING was wrong with the car (even though we explained the freeway speed connection to the defect) and that we would be paying for the cancelation fee. This fee was a substantial amount, especially given we had already wasted hours of our first day dealing with the defective car. We tried to nicely explain we wouldnt be paying the fee, since the car had the defect AND he had verbally given us his word we would be getting a full refund. He then began to yell at us, posturing angrily and saying he would get lawyers involved. At this point, rather than get into any kind of altercation we simply informed him we would be contacting our credit card for fraud. We got on the road in our new car and sure enough in a few days we saw the charge show up on our card. Thankfully the credit card company did take care of everything, but this was an extremely stressful way to start our vacation. Please avoid at all costs! These people are extremely dishonest and downright rude when confronted on it.

It’s worse than borrowing you down-and-out cousin’s car - you know the one that runs like crap and stinks like cigarettes and rotting fast food? The staff was nice and they did honor the price matching promise they advertise (otherwise they were more expensive than standard car rentals) but the car was in bad shape. The rear brakes squealed, desperate for service. The fluids all needed topping off, the tires needed inflating, the windshield wipers were shot (very dangerous when it starts to rain) and the cracks in the windshield were really annoying. It’s sucks when you have to interrupt your vacation to make an emergency run to an auto parts store in Alaska to make the car safe to drive. Unless you need to take a car on gravel roads, you’re better off with the standard rental companies.

Best experience ever. Ersine and Ergine are the best. Car was new with only 500 miles and clean. Even thought I messed up my reservation they credited my mistake back to me no question. They even picked up the car in Seward so I could get on my cruise. Great guys and will definitely use again on my next trip now that I have family in Anchorage!

Our flight from MI came in around 2am , I’m so grateful we found this place that was open 24/7! I had spoke with Ersin 3 times prior to arriving. He was very nice & friendly . The price he quoted was exactly what we paid. We will DEFINITELY rent from here again when we return to AK. Me and my family flew here in alaska for a vacation and decided to rent a car here for a week. The only reason we picked this place because it was cheaper than hertz, plus our hotel shuttle told us they got good deals. So we got our car which was a red jeep. The place seemed trustable because it has good decent reviews. What turns out that this car hasnt been used in 9 months so on our way to fairbanks, we started having back tire problems and our engine light came on by the time we got to fairbanks. So the next day we took it into a auto shop and they said it will take a few hours for it to get fully repaired but we didnt want to wait around all day for a car, we wanted to enjoy our trip, so we told this rental place well leave it at the shop and they said theyll take care of it and didnt even charge us for it. So we had to take a plane back to anchorage. This place really pissed us off for what they put us through with there shady business. They refused to tell us that this car hadnt been used in 9 months. We got a better brand new car at hertz. Never again

We reside in Washington D.C and had to travel to Anchorage, Alaska to plan and attend a funeral for a loved-one. We purchased our flight tickets two days before the funeral service and didnt have time to look for car rentals online. We were picked up at the airport by family members the day of our arrival, but decided to rent a car for the next couple of days. We checked various online websites, Hotwire, kayak, etc and didnt find great rates. We realized that it was peak season and prices were not the best. We decided to hop on a cab and rent a car from the airport. Enroute to the airport, we asked the taxi driver if he heard of any decent car rentals in the area that have availability and are reasonably priced. He immediately referred us to this company. He realized that we were planning a funeral and was so kind as to call the company and inquire about rates. He gave us the rate over the phone and it was at least $100 cheaper than other deals in the area. He dropped us off and we met with one of the owners, Erkan (not sure of spelling). He was so kind and patient and explained the entire process and fees. There were no hidden fees. We picked the car and were on our way. He also explained to us that this is the time when most business can make some sort of money and that the prices vary on season. He made us think of the economics of Alaskan businesses and that the prices do vary considerably off-peak and that when we revisit,we will get much better rates. The car was comfortable and reliable, the price was reasonable and the service was exceptional! An added bonus is there is free airport drop-off, using the same car you drove, so as not to unload and load luggage. Very convenient and no doubt we will tell our family and friends and return to this wonderful family-owned business.

Very easy to deal with. They where the cheapest in town ,and very friendly. I got exactly the car i wanted .

I wanted to save some money and hence went in for this rental eventhough I knew the cars that these guys rent are used and have many miles. Initially the reservation was done over phone and the guy sent me two quotes on different dates with different prices. I insisted that he honor the lower of both prices for which he agreed grudgingly. When I returned the car he insisted that I make an additional payment of $80 because the car was not returned before 1 AM in the morning (I rented the car on June 30th at 1 AM) and hence the policy was to return the car on July 8th at 1 AM. It was my fault that I did not see the rental document which said the return time was 1 AM but the problem was that he would not pro rate the additional charges for one day at the rate at which the rental was made but at a much higher rate of $80. We drove a used car with 60,000 miles and had to be picked up and dropped back from the airport. Net net, you go through a lot of hassle, drive an old car and dont save a penny by renting from this guy. The last I checked before I left for Anchorage on Hotwire, I could have made the same rental from a reputed rental company for less.

Great experience. This is a family run business and they are very accommodating. We picked up the car and quickly inspected it and off we went. Turned it back in 2 weeks later and paid the amount quoted. No problems at all, car was a newer Nissan and very nice. They even promptly drove us to the airport at no additional charge. Best prices in town! Would highly recommend using this company over any at the airport.
