I gave kind and clear instructions for my haircut. Upon being shown the result, I politely explained that that was the opposite of what I had requested and then politely requested that my haircut be done the way I had originally requested. The barber then rushed to fix my haircut and left the backside of my haircut a rushed mess and neglected to show me the back with a mirror (I had already taken so much time in his chair, with another customer waiting, that I felt it would be rude of me to insist on asking for a mirror to inspect his work). I didn’t see the backside of my head until after I had left and I was very disappointed and very disheartened upon seeing it.I spent $30 plus a $20 tip on a haircut so bad that it made me want to buzz off my entire head of hair with a pair of clippers that I already owned and could have saved money with in the first place.I wish that old saying of “you get what you pay for” was true here but I’d have had a better day going to the Hair Academy or Great Clips for a fraction of what I paid at Yankee Barber Shop III.

Jose is a friendly guy and takes pride in his work. Be prepared to encounter a language barrier unless you speak Spanish. Cash is the only form of payment, no ccs, but there is an ATM in the shop. This is more of a drop in and get served establishment as calling ahead hasnt worked for me. Ill be back.

First, I walk-in and the barber was relaxing. Just watching TV. He seemed inviting, but NO. His demeanor made it seem like he had better things to do. That is poor customer service . Secondly, I asked if he was booked, and his response was, No, I have no appointments at ALL TODAY so I proceeded with Will you take my wife and I?. He was quick to reply with a cold answer, Nah, I can only do one I was a bit dumbfounded by the answer. I said Okay, let me go get cash. He immediately disappeared. Extremely bad customer service for anyone. If I can give this place zero stars, I would.

My 18 year old grandson has been going there since he was 16. And he usually gets a radical hairstyle.

This is the go to spot to get a tight cut in Alaska. Nelson is the most consistent barber I’ve found in Anchorage, have gone for years and always leave feeling fresh. Price is good, excellent value for level of service. Wait times can be long if there’s a lot of people in line for a chair so just be ready or come back later. It’s not their fault, and you don’t want your barber rushing just because they’re busy. Yankee II is also aight if you need a cut later at night or on Sunday.

This guy really know how to cut hair. This used to be Pats Barber Shop, if this is the location I think Im reviewing. Ive only ever seen one guy working here and he is the bomb! He doesnt talk much, but thats not what I want anyway when I come for a haircut. I want a quality haircut and beard trim, and this guy delivers both for a $20 bill. I can tell how meticulously he works his instruments. I get a different haircut and beard trim every time, and every time, its jaw-dropping!Once you go to a quality barber, you wont go back to Great Clips.P.S. dont come here in a rush. He takes his time with each of his customers, which I like, and doesnt seem to rush a haircut in any way when customers are waiting. Come here on a day off. Also, bring cash; I dont think he accepts card.

Came in and asked for a simple haircut. The barber cut me by the ear which was fine, because at least somebody in town still tries to use a straight razor. But when I got home I noticed that I still had a lot of hairs falling off my scalp, and had to take a shower again. Also asked for the top evenly trimmed which it wasnt and it felt like the front part of my head had something wrong with it, like my hair had thinned out. I dont know if the chemicals used didnt react well or if its just my imagination but it freaked me out on top of all the other things wrong.

They did a fantastic job in fixing someone elses mess up.

Love the cuts I get here. its my new go to place. though I might add that with only one barber, you should budget your time wisely and anticipate a wait.

Definatly need to learn how to fade. Got better haircuts in prison with mustache trimmers. For real

My neck hurt like hell I figured I just got irritated bad... I got home and looked in the mirror... Honestly they didnt even trim the top of my head... I just handed him cash and split. The place really disappointed me for the reputation It suggests that it has.

This review is based off customer service, not on hair cutting ability. I called at 1:32 PM what hours they would be open and I was told 5PM for this day. I arrived at 3:26 PM and to my disappointed they were closed.
