This salon is wonderful. They made sure to pamper me up right before I went on vacation! My nails looked amazing for the entirety of my trip, despite constantly being in salt water. They truly make you feel welcome and make your nails look perfect. Already went there for the second time because I love how they do my nails. Also highly recommend for those who have not done gel yet. Its wonderful!

My favorite salon and spa. I wont go anywhere else to get waxed and have my nails done. The atmosphere is relaxing and the staff are polite and remember you. Unlike a lot of places, Pro Nails plays calm classical music and not modern hits.

For my moms b-day, she said she wanted to be pampered. I aim to deliver! And hoped the nail place I picked would too. After getting some suggestions from colleagues at work and doing my own research, Pro Nails seemed like a great choice. Its downtown and easy to find and had great reviews.And Im glad about my choice! I booked 2 Classic mani ($23)/pedis ($34) for a 1PM appointment. I called a week in advance as I heard they get booked up pretty fast and wont do walk-ins if they are booked. On the morning of the day, they called me to confirm as well.We got in right on time and they requested we wash our hands at the back, which seems standard and I appreciate that. The place is small but neat, very clean, organized, and had a steady flow of regular/new customers. The staff was great to be hygienic and I felt very safe health-wise as almost all the staff wore masks and changed out their gloves on a regular basis. There was also soothing, calming music playing in the background that was very relaxing and the whole place just smelled nice, too. My mom and I got two great ladies (Lan, I think, and...I forgot the other woman, sorry!, my mom loved you) for our pedi/manis. They do not rush! We spent 2.5 hours for our mani/pedis and I appreciate that a lot because we both felt pampered.I was so surprised at what we got for the Classic for both services. They offered us drinks (it was so cute, they really wanted to make sure we had a drink if we wanted, be it a can of soda, water or whatever!), took their time with our nails but also did a whole routine for our feet and lower leg/hands and lower arms. They really took their time and unlike some places Ive gone to, no issues such as cutting too close or deep. These ladies definitely knew what they were doing. For our manis, again, same great care and attention to detail. They do two layers of color plus a base and top coat (they have a huge selection/range of colors--I recommend DD111 Coral color!!!!!).My mom actually messed up her toe nail color on one of her feet and her manicurist re-did the toes my mom messed up. Talk about service! Most of all, my mom was so happy with her nails and toes. She has gone to very expensive spas where they just charge your for just painting your toes and pushing you out the door but Pro Nails took care of us! My feet and hands have never looked better. Honestly, I felt like I had a new set of feet and hands after I left lol.We are definitely going back. Great service, clean facility, very friendly, experienced, professional, and kind staff, but most of all, we had a great time and got beautiful toes and nails :). Thank you Pro Nails for making my moms day a great one!

I cannot share enough good things about this place! I saw Hannah yesterday and had the best nail experience I’ve ever had! The space was clean, everyone was extremely friendly, and professional! I will definitely be back, and I’m telling all of my friends to go there as well!

I am extremely impressed. It was my first time coming to Pro Nails after many recommendations. The finished manicure I received looks perfect. I cant stop staring! Hannah was also very attentive and careful with an injury on my finger. 10/10 will visit again!

Had the most wonderful experience at Pro Nails today. I am a current veterinary student, so I need to be able to use my hands and I recently stopped biting my nails so my natural nails were a bit uneven. Jennifer, my nail technician, helped me decide which type of manicure would be best for me (we went with dip nails and extensions on just a couple nails so they’d all be even) and she really took her time to make sure they were perfect. I would highly recommend Pro Nails and especially Jennifer!

This place was not cheap. Normally my gel manicures last great for 2 weeks and look nice even up to 3. I had my nails done Saturday afternoon and by Tuesday already had two nails completely chipping. I didn’t do anything differently that would have caused them to chip. I feel like this was a huge waste of $$$

I go here every two weeks and I absolutely love this love this place the ladies in here are great!! I went in the other night because one of my daughter birthdays is coming up so I got her nails done as well and they turned out great as usual.

I was in Ames visiting family and made an appointment at Pro Nails for a manicure. The wait time was minimal and my technician, Wa, was so friendly and did a fantastic job! Very happy with my nails!

There were a lot of people in there, but they did a good job with distancing and our nails.

The best experience Ive had at a nail salon ever! I got dip nails which were around $40. I usually spend 45-50 at other places! I had Jennifer and she was so amazing. She asked me my name, my story, and continued to have conversation with me. She noticed that some of my nail was showing through the dip after buffing it, and she redid it, even though the shop had closed 10 minutes previously. She took her time and did so amazing! Everyone is so welcoming and kind. Highly recommend :)

I went and got my nails done today at Pro Nails. I was very impressed with my acrylic nails that Ann put on for me. The workers were easy to understand, the place was very clean and nice and very relaxing. I called at noon and Ann got me in at 12:30. I am very satisfied with my visit today! They are by appointment only, when you come in, you sign in, pick your color and you only sit for a moment before the person who will take care of you comes to get you. I have been there at least a half dozen times now and the service I get is great. My techs name is Katie youre offer something to drink water or soda and they get to work. I LOVE and appreciate that the tools are cleaned and sterilized each time. They are packaged and opened in front of you so you know.The atmosphere is nice, they play jazz and the massage chairs are great. They are on the expensive side, but as the saying goes you get what you pay for, so I dont mind. I moved here about a year ago and used yelp reviews to find this place and I wasnt disappointed.***They also offer polish warrantyFor regular 24 hour repair for the gel polish a week..I actually had to utilize that option and they did with NO Problem!!! Very happy about that.***

For a busy afternoon, they were still quick to get me in for a walk-in pedicure. The whole pedicure felt a bit rushed, but was nice nonetheless and the polish looks great! The atmosphere is nice, and the salon is cute and clean. Will definitely be coming back.

Went with my mom.I am to very scared of getting a fungal infection,since this was a new place and I’ve contracted one before.This place is AMAZING !!!They use the disposable liners for the foot spa stuff .You can see their autoclave.where their tools are.The staff was so sweet.I’m extremely picky with my nails, and am happy to say I’ve found my happy place!

Wow!!! The service was great. The end product was great. If I didnt live 90 minutes from Ames, this would be my new spot for sure. The two people that did my mani and dip nails were so nice and they did an amazing job. Even suggested what I should do next time when I come back. I will definitely return.

Love this place!! My dip always lasts at least 3 weeks. I end up having to go in because of the length of my nails is too long not the polish chipping.

If you are going as a group, look elsewhere. I took my mom and my mother-in-law as a Mother’s Day gift. I made reservations to ensure all three of us would be able to have pedicures at the same time. I went with the deluxe pedicure package because I really wanted to treat my moms. About 5 minutes into the pedicure, the person working on my mom just left and went to do someone else’s manicure and my mom sat there for about 20 minutes while my mother-in-law and me continued to get massages. I promoted them to pamper my mom saying I could wait, and they kept saying they would get to her in a “few minutes”. My mom then ended up getting a 30 second massage and a rushed pedicure. Nothing deluxe or pampering about a very spendy visit.

After making an appointment and showing up 5 minutes early for the appointment, I waited 45 minutes with no explanation and no idea when they were going to be ready for my manicure. After so much time, I walked out and found another salon that got me in right away.

Ann and Hannah were very patient with my 4year old daughter and me. They also did a wonderful job on our manicures.

Ahn does an Amazing job on my nails! I have OCD issues and she always keeps at it until they are absolutely perfect & just they way I want them without getting irritated at all she is a saint, super sweet & an amazing nail artist. Everyone in the salon is super nice & they keep all of their tools, work areas, shop, etc. very very clean & sanitary. Its worth paying a tiny bit more for the quality!!

I made an appointment for 1:15 and didnt get my nails started until 1:30. Nail tech was friendly abs did a good job.

Horrible experience--I wanted to get a manicure for my wedding and I wish Id never gone here. The manicurist was really rough, filed them into random, unmatched shapes that dont even match in length, kept trying to bully me into upgrading to gel (which I repeatedly said I did not want!), tried to make me feel bad about not getting regular manicures, and wasted two hours of my time with him trying to fix it. They didnt have the color I wanted (nothing exotic at all--just teal) and kept trying to force me to choose something. The customer service was horrible, the manicure was horrible, the whole experience was horrible. I ended up fixing my nails at home--like I should have done from the start, apparently.

There are a few requirements I stand by when getting a pedi: clean place, good conversations and relaxation. My feet are beat up daily with long runs, standing at work and walking around campus. I need a salon that’s going to make them look presentable and healthy. This place was all that and more. I am glad I took the chance in trying a new place verses driving to my regular place 30 mins away. The staff knew who I was when I walked in. That means they know their regular clients and will get to know me as well. I felt welcomed and relax which is what I needed after a long day at work. Thanks for the great service, Pro Nails. I will be back in a few weeks :)

Wow...this place is wonderful! I was in town for a conference and a friend told me to experience Pronails and Ive never been to any nail place like this before, its more like a spa than a nail place. It was a great treatment, relaxing environment, people was so nice and I love how they sterilized their instruments its a piece of mind for me knowing how they sanitize it. The shop is so open with the 20 feet ceiling making it looks so spacious and comfortable and they must have at least 8-10 pedicure chairs in there. I would give Pronails a 6 star and definitely coming back again next time Im in town.

Very professional and very thorough

I went to pro nails for about a year. Tom usually did my nails, but I found out upon arrival one day that he had quit. Theres also another man who works there who smells like smoke 100% of the time. Very unprofessional for an atmosphere that is supposed to be relaxing. When Tom quit, I got a fill with a new woman who was recently hired. She repeatedly burned me with the drill, it was the most painful nail experience Ive ever had! Tom usually burned me a little bit too, but not this bad. When I politely mentioned it she told me I was really sensitive. Not to mention my acrylics constantly broke, and they also never seemed to shape them correctly despite me explaining what I like. I have since switched to a nail salon in West Des Moines, even though I am an ames resident. Ive been going to my new salon for several months, and since then Ive never had a broken nail, and Ive never once been burned with the drill. I honestly thought it was normal for my acrylic fills to include a little bit of burning pain, and I thought I was just too rough on my nails, but it turns out I was not the problem. Ive had a fill with one of the other girls who work there as well. She was still very rough, and my nails were incredibly uneven. The owner is very nice, all though I only had a fill with her once. They also charged me $5 extra to shape my acrylics..to shape them into a square which is very standard at any salon and takes about 3 extra minutes. Bottom line, I would not reccomend this salon.
