Ive used this company several times. They always call me back and get an appointment In a timely manner. They get the work done, professionally and quickly. The price is fair and they always clean up after. I will continue to use them for plumbing issues.

Came out. Didnt finish the job. Said they would be back to finish after looking into possible solution. Didnt return calls after that. Made three attempts.. Person answering phone was nice and said they would pass on the message. Nothing.

Draintech came recommended by our realtor when we purchased a home in Ames. Soon after the purchase we needed a repair to the plumbing under the kitchen sink. Billy came out and fixed it in quick order. He also found a problem with how the garbage disposal was installed, that was causing a minor leak. He fixed that very quickly also. He cleaned up everything when he was done too. Very happy! Linda was also extremely pleasant on the office side. Thank you!

I am so glad we decided to call draintech when we began experiencing our sewer backing up. We started with another company who was not very responsive and could not get to us for weeks, I decided to call drain tech when the problem was becoming worse and they were at our home that same day. We initially thought our septic tank needed pumped and was backing up, after they completed the service we were able to discover that was not the problem and we had a clogged pipe, the drain tech employee took care of calling someone else to come unclog our pipe and we were impressed with how quickly he responded! Would 10/10 recommend them and we will continue using them in the future!

My parents had a problem with a bathroom that was flooding their basement. They had a different company in Ames go out, had to wait a week, and then were quoted over $1000 to fix the problem. I called Draintech and they sent people out that same day! Had it fixed right away and for less than $200!Great company and great professional workers!

I bought a new faucet and I didnt want to install it myself. I called and set up an appointment. They were supposed to be here around 10am - 12pm, but they didnt arrive until 2pm. Its understandable in this line of work. No worries there. They came, saw what they needed to do, finished it within 20 minutes. Draintech is fast, professional, and they have a good sense of humor. They dont get in your way at all, and they clean up after themselves. Best plumbing service in Ames, Iowa!

Had frozen pipes in Boone early on Sunday morning and they had a very professional, cheerful plumber at my house fast. He worked quickly, did a great job, and cleaned up thoroughly when he was done. Everyone Ive dealt with at this company has been extremely easy to talk to, work with, and I will recommend them to everyone I know.

They gave me a 2 hour time frame to get my water heater replaced and Cody was done in under 90 minutes! Great service! I was having such a rough time trying to deal with the leaking heater and this was fast and efficient with friendly staff. Had I known it would be this easy, and known WHO to call, I would have called them immediately when I found the leak.

Ive used this company once before and they were great! However, over the last week my husband and I have called 5 or 6 times. a few times we got the voicemail, the other times we were told she would have the guys call us. All we wanted was an estimate on how much it would cost to fix a leak in our basement. So we waited for the call. That was last Thursday. We have called and left messages. It is extremely unprofessional. The only reason Im not giving a zero is because they were great when we needed them a year ago.

I called for service and they were in my driveway in less than an hour, and they sent the supervisor, Jeremy, who always does phenomenal work effectively and efficiently.

They were able to come and take a look at my hot water heater with in 45 minutes of my call. Corey proceeded to tell me what he was doing, why he was doing it, and how the system worked. He replaced a couple of things and cleaned several parts. He went above and beyond and added a piece to the drain pipe for my AC so that it would actually reach the drain. Then he cleaned off the gunk built up around the drain. He was very nice, thorough, and quick. He did it all in less than 30 minutes. And best of all, they were not over priced. I highly recommend them!

10/24/18 EDIT: Linda from Draintech reached out today in response to my review and we cleared everything up. I greatly appreciate this step they took and have changed my opinion and review back to what I had come to expect from this company given past experience from our landlord using them and from the recommendations of most people around town. I hope not to NEED their services anytime soon, but next time I need plumbing work done I will call them.

I started with another company and was dissatisfied. On a whim I called Draintech and I dont have any reason to ever look for someone else! Today I had Jeremy clean the drain to my washer and in past years Ive had Bill or Tom. Every time the job is well done and I dont need to call them for a few years. Thanks guys!

I dont know why the technician decided to kick a package I had on my porch around. Very unprofessional.EDIT: I live in apartment and have attached a picture of the vehicle. The package contained eggs and they did end up leaking.

Derrick and Jermey came out and took care of a clogged basement drain. Very professional and di an excellent job getting the work done in a timely fashion. Also it was very affordable. I would highly recommend their services.

Called them in a panic when my laundry started backing up my kitchen sink and causing water to go into the ceiling of the bedroom below it. Arrived within the day, snaked the drain, and all is well. The technician took the time to talk to me, and was very courteous, and gave me next steps of what I need to do to fix any issues as well as how to prevent in the future.

Great company. Got my issue called in by 9:30 and the Technician was leaving by 11.The Tech was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient.

I needed a few drains unclogged in my house below the basement floor where I couldnt reach them with my snake. Once I called them they were at my door within an hour and had it all running again. The guy who came to my house was very personable and gave me advice on how to fix some other plumbing issues. He even went above and beyond to call me for a follow up for some research he did for me. I have worked with Drain Tech on jobs in the past and have always been impressed with their knowledge and ability to finish the job in a decent time frame, unless its -34 degrees and they are working on frozen pipes for the entire town, which is understandable.

Caution: service and prices are great until you ask them to fix previous projects not done right. I called to make appt to stop a toilet leak they previously fixed that went down to my finished basement ceiling. They didnt even show up! Called to ask to reschedule and they didnt return my call. Days later I hired Ben Franklin to make the repair, and plumber showed me the wax ring never sealed due to flange being too low. I went to the draintech office and was promised they would look into it and call me back. No surprise, they never called. Its not a guarantee if you cant get them back to fix their mistakes!!!

I had Draintech come out to my house to diagnose a drainage problem in my sewer line. I had previously had a local plumber come out to fix the problem, but they were unable to get it cleared. Draintech patiently handled all of my questions and showed me exactly what they were doing at every step along the way. They were able to clear the blockage and even took the time to suggest methods to prevent it from happening again including a walk through of the house to point out potential problem areas. I would definitely recommend them to anyone having sewer issues.

A tech came to my house the end of May, but the problem I was having was a bigger job than what he could handle, so he said I would have to schedule an appointment with the owner. I have called them FOUR times and have yet to hear back from them to schedule an appointment.

My experience with Draintech was absolutely awesome!

I rent a home in Ames and was there for just a weekend recently when I discovered I had a leaky valve. Draintech had to be called twice to actually get someone out and though the plumber was fast he fixed one leaky valve and broke a handle on another. Worse than that he left without noticing that it was also dripping! This could have been a huge problem because it was the valve coming from the street and my house was going to be unoccupied for the next month. When I called Draintech to see about getting the 2nd valve fixed and to see if I could get a discount on the next job since their plumber didnt notice a leak he created, I was told I would get a call back. Just like when I called to get the first valve fixed, I have still not received a call back! I went with Neighbors plumbing instead and their communication and work were both excellent!
