My car wouldnt turn over but I eventually got it started and was able to drive it here. The owner received my vehicle a bit past 5 oclock, even though they were closed. He had the battery replaced and the car ready for me to use to drive to work by 7:30am the next day. 5 star service!

I always have a great experience with Eastman. Even if hes incredibly busy hell make time for you. Great work, quick service, very professional. I would (and do) recommend Eastman Auto Care to anyone in search of a trustworthy mechanic in Ames.

As always, Eastmans did a great job. We had a new driver put diesel in the gas tank and they helped us get it all cleaned out and fixed up. One of the best things about this place is that they dont make you feel stupid for making mistakes in car care. They just fix it up and get you back on the road.

I have taken my Jeep Grand Cherokee to Eastman Auto Care several times now and always walk away from the experience feeling very good. Not only is the owner, Larry, super friendly, helpful, and honest, but as a woman that has had several unpleasant experiences at auto repair shops in the past, he has never once been demeaning or condescending when explaining an issue or problem. He takes the time to go over all options while respectfully providing advice. I will never take my car back to a dealer or larger auto repair business again. Eastman Auto has my business, guaranteed. The cherry on top is that the prices cant be beat. He really does his best to offer affordable and timely services to anyone and everyone. Highly recommend!!

DO NOT COME HERE. They start off by charging you $100 to diagnose your issue, a service that most garages offer for free. After that I was quoted that my repairs would total $1122. However after making 1 call to another mechanic, I am able to get my repairs for $550. I do not believe in supporting a business that so blatantly tries to overcharge and take advantage of the college demographic here in Ames. Would give 0 stars if possible. STAY AWAY!

Quick oil change service. Got my car in and out within 30 minutes. The person at the front desk seemed busy at that time, but was kind enough to take time to address my concerns related to my car brake and timing belt.

My daughters car needed fixed. Thought Id go to a dealer but that was a mistake. (Buyer beware of George White). After an inflated quote and dishonest communications I decided to go with Eastman Auto Care. Best decision I made. They found the problem and fixed it for 1/10 the cost. Great value, great service! Larry was wonderful! We were visiting our daughter at ISU and our van stopped working suddenly. I called an auto shop close to campus and they were booked. They referred me to Eastman - said that Larry would take care of me...and he did. Initially he said they couldnt look at it because they were booked, but because we were stuck (out of town) he still took care of me. He arranged a tow and quickly got a new alternator and battery installed so that we could head home. Forever grateful!

Its always hard to find a business you can trust when you dont live in the town where they are located. I live outside of Chicago and my son is at ISU. Twice now Ive contacted Larry to take a look at my sons car due to mechanical issues. Both times Larry did a great job fixing the car, on time and at a reasonable price. I couldnt recommend Eastman more and will not hesitate to bring a car here again in the future.

My old Volvo 240 broke down in Ames, Iowa while we were on our way back to Missouri from Wisconsin. After a AAA jump start we managed to drive the car to Eastman. I suspected the alternator since our battery had gone down. Larry, the owner and lead mechanic, was willing to work on the car (not every shop will touch an old Volvo). He correctly diagnosed the bad alternator and was able to get one delivered from NAPA. As he was installing it he discovered a broken bracket which he immediately welded back together. We were back on the road in three hours. Larry is a competent, honest person, and fair-minded. If I lived in Ames I would take my car there all the time

Awesome service, I forgot to drop the car off early this time and it was no problem. I called and they accommodated me! Awesome service! Very trustworthy! I always take my VW beetle in and ask them to check certain things and they only do the work if need be. We just had her in for her 100,000 mile check up, went smoothly. I’ve been using them happily for three years now!!! If you need a new auto mechanic don’t pass this place up!!! Larry is the best!!!!

Did a great job. Only thing is I went in for an oil change, and he changed the cabin filter without calling me and asking I wanted it done. That is not a standard thing that is part of an oil change. It was an extra expense I didn’t budget for. Being a single mom I keep a budget and unexpected expenses can make it hard.

The owner came in on his day off to help me finish up a brake job. I fought for hours trying to get a seized caliper slide out. He had it out and the brake job finished in 45 minutes. All at a fair price. Hats off to this guy. He saved my Fourth of July weekend.

Absolutely fantastic service!! We were traveling with our camper when our power steering went out. Larry let us drop our camper at his place and then immediately corrected the problem with our truck and got us back on the road very quickly!! Eastman Auto saved our trip!! Highly recommend!

I have used this auto repair establishment for 34 years, from when it was Chuck and Tom, to Jason, and now Larry. Through 3 owners, the service has always been terrific. We buy our cars to keep, and these guys have kept our vehicles in terrific shape, and then as they get older, they tell us what needs to be fixed and what could be let go because the cars future life would not justify the expense. Could not ask for a better repair shop.

I have officially found my mechanic. I have been here for two years now going from one place to the next to find decent, reliable, friendly service. Well guess what? This is what you will find here. The owner never gets rude. He never makes you feel as if you are wasting his time or that he is too busy for you. All the prices are explained in detail. Although they might not be the cheapest in town, I would rather spend a bit extra to be treated like a person and not like a cash cow.

Eastmans auto care was awesome this morning . I had a flat tire and I broke my socket wrench in the process of changing my tire . Larry let me borrow his $300 valued snap on socket bar and socket to change my tire, which was about ten blocks from his garage!Terry and Larry quickly fixed my tire and put it back on my truck and charge me only $19!!!

While walking with my kids and their scooters in Ames, I realized one of the scooters front wheels was misaligned, making it difficult to ride. We walked up to Eastman Auto Care and a nice young man fixed the wheel for us! Thank you so much for helping us get back on our way!

These guys were extremely helpful when my daughter was in a bind. Her car broke down north of Ames on I35 on her way back to college in Kansas. I called them without having worked them before and they were willing to get her in at 3:00 on a Friday afternoon. They fixed the issue and had her on the road under a couple of hours and were very affordable and very honest. I highly recommend Larry and the team at Eastman Auto Care. If I lived in Ames, this would be my new auto repair place. We live in Minneapolis. Overall, a very positive experience!
