What a wonderful community—best property we have ever been a part of.Leasing- Keke was phenomenal! Never was a sales pitch, but answered questions and took time to find the perfect apartment for our needs.Amenities- Well taken care of, great gym, phenomenal pool area, awesome movie/sports room—common areas rock!Maintenance- response times less than 24hrs; things completed above satisfactionLocation- Great spot in Old Town—-great commercial shopping and restaurants, 1.5 blocks to the water!Apartment- See my photos, higher end appliances, no sound issues, let my photos speak for themselves!

Had a wonderful tour experience with our leasing agent, Sydni. Super kind and informative.The area surrounding the apartment is great. There is plenty of small shops under the apartment complex, as well as a really big parking garage (big plus). The lobby is great, and has plenty of amenities including a pool, billiard table and other games like Ping Pong. There is an outdoor pool, and plenty of lounge areas near the pool as well as the rooftop. Rooftop is nice but the fencing for the fans/AC makes it not so nice lol. I wish there was a more clear view of the Washington Monument but its better than nothing.Apartments are amazingly beautiful but limited options since so many people live here already!Prices are steep but you are definitely getting your money’s worth.Only downsides I could think of is the high price and the steep $1000 Security Deposit.

I need to highlight the efforts of Katie Foote, a truly outstanding Leasing Team Member. She is extremely knowledgeable about the property and seeks every opportunity to establish a higher bar in customer service. We did not rent an apartment, we rented a home.On the evening of our move in, Katie reached out to inform me that although she was off that Kenny would be my point of contact. She made me feel so comfortable with her overview of the move in process. The next day, she even reached out to us to ensure that all was well with move in.The next day, I met Kenny who worked at a sister property. It was wonderful to learn that he was one of the originals team members who opened the Gables. Another outstanding asset! He was most gracious in re-acquainting me to the property and introducing me to my new home. I highly recommend that Gables aggressively pursue him as a staff member.Kudos Gables!

The Gables is a great community. The units are nicely built with nice amenities but most importantly the team at Gables Old Town North is really top notch. In specific, Keke, Chandler, Katie, Sheila, Kelly, and Javier are fantastic on the leasing/concierge/maintenance teams. They are always so kind and always remember my name. Something that is small, but goes a long way in hospitality.Also, Carl, the general manager, is very professional. You would think he is a general manager of a hotel.

I just wanted to comment and say how happy I am to have been able to live here at Gables Old Town. This apartment exceeded my expectation from the management to the location. Unfortunately, I just moved out because of work reasons but will definitely be moving back next year. Also, I completely disagree with Katie McAnenys comment. Management has been nothing but supportive to the military and first responders in the building. It sounds like Katie was having some travel nurse issues that could have been prevented if she was on a monthly lease!

Crazy week -- first AC system lost power and second we got locked out of our town house because the FOB lock box batteries went dead... waited an hour for the emergency response and finally got back in... NOTE: the maintenance rep was awesome once he got to our place...

A great place to live!! Great location. Great apartments and layout. Great amenities. Tip of the hat to the incredible staff - Carl, Keke, Kelly and Javier really put residents first and make you feel at home...Highly recommend...

I have been fortunate enough to live in Gables Old Town North for close to two years and I have thoroughly enjoyed the lifestyle. The location in Alexandria is fantastic, the amenities (especially the gym) are excellent but most of all the responsiveness and care of the management team is special. Carl Johnson and Keke Hyman, management leadership, are what make this such a great community.

We absolutely love living here! The location is unbeatable. Within the apartment building there are a bunch of restaurants, including a steakhouse, sushi restaurant, amazing Thai food, fried chicken, and a coffee shop is opening up soon. There are also two grocery stores within just a few blocks. This neighborhood is so cute and charming. The apartments themselves are beautiful and the amenities are great. The building has a pool and gym that is big and has a lot of windows so you dont feel like youre in an apartment building gym. The staff is great too and is always available if you need anything.

I am posting an update to my review from January to update on how things are going 8 months in. We still love living here, however - after living in the apartment now for a while, I wanted to update my stellar review.The situation with the water in the kitchen has been resolved! They replaced the fancy faucet with a less fancy model and it works great. Situation has been rectified.I have seen lots of reviews about how loud it is here. We live on the 3rd floor in the corner. We dont hear dogs or people. We do hear the people on the 4th floor walking overhead and that kind of bothers me. We are careful not to stomp around or drop heavy things or move furniture so as not to disturb people below us. The windows are extremely hard to open. When open, the noise from being on the flight path is quite loud, but I dont happen to mind it. I love being close to the ground, part of the community.All but one of the management staff has left. I have not had any interaction with the new management, but I think overall - its been a good experience for us. We love the location.

UPDATE: Javier, Kelly, Sylvia & the Cleaning Ladies with the Concierges are ALL AMAZING!!!! Had a water leak for a second. Repaired IMMEDIATELY. Love this place!!! This is a professionals paradise. Every amenity at your fingertips and views that you can only have from Old Town Alexandria of the Washington Monument. The staff is delightful and insists on taking care of your every need. Pets are warmly welcomed which is ideal and the apartments are spectacular. This property was built with no expense spared. Tall ceilings and special touches make this a secure, lovely and luxurious place to live. And it is so close to Old Town and the water! Special thanks to Katie and Carl for making the application process easy and quick. Katie is a wonderful asset to this property and will make you feel like you want to stay and live there!

While my time at Gables was pleasant, I had a horrible end of lease experience. I am a nurse who relocated to DC to respond to Covid needs. I relocated prior to the Covid vaccines being released so the expectation was that I would have at least a year’s worth of work in the area. When the vaccine become unexpectedly available Covid cases dropped (thankfully!) and work became scare. I asked management for consideration of my circumstances when terminating my lease early and was given no leeway. Everyone can clap for their “healthcare heroes” but when push came to shove Gables demanded $7k from me to terminate my lease early. Meanwhile, most people were not working and didn’t pay rent during the pandemic. I was working overtime and never missed a month. Beware of this company, even if they manage nice complexes. They do not respect first responders and only want your money.

Update (2/5/2021): Just wanted to post a quick update / amendment to my earlier review. We continue to believe the building has nice finishes and amenities and everyone is very friendly. However, I do think it is important for prospective tenants to know that the noise levels in this building are VERY high. The walls, ceilings, and floors are not well-insulated and the result for us has been round the clock noise from neighbors on three sides of our apartment. This includes a couple next door with loud verbal confrontations, upstairs neighbors who stomp and throw loud parties at night, and loud TV noise. We have contacted management several times and while theyve contacted the other tenants, there has been no ultimate resolution. As individuals who work from home, we have found this environment really stressful.We have had a WONDERFUL experience at Gables Old Town North. We love the building, the apartments are very nice and have lovely finishes, we have super nice neighbors, and the amenity spaces are top notch. Whenever we have had an issue, it has been promptly addressed by the OTN team. We love having retail and restaurants close by as well. The building is well maintained - we notice and appreciate how often cleaning crews come through to vacuum common areas and mop floors. Thanks to the team for everything you do!

I’ve just moved into Gables and I must say it’s great! The staff is really good and the area and overall look of the place is amazing!

This is a nice building but unfortunately the noise levels are very high. There must be a lack of proper insulation between floors. Management is kind and professional.

I love Gables Old Town North! The amenities are great and I really love how they designed the apartments. I absolutely can not wait until I tell my friends and family about this place.

Gables Old Town North has the potential to be a 5 star community. This is one of the better communities I’ve ever lived. I’m not easily impressed but this place is well-maintained and quite comfortable.

I absolutely loved living here! I only left to relocate for work and was so sad to do so. The leasing staff was amazing and my apartment was breathtaking.

I love living here. The amenities are awesome with beautiful design furniture. Everything was well planned. The staff and neighbors are friendly. It is a pet friendly community. Old Town Alexandria is such a great place to live but living it @ The Gables make it better!!

The staff is amazing and helpful. They seem to really care about their jobs and are always available. My apartment is beautiful and well laid out. Big windows, beautiful bathroom, and a closet to die for. I love it here.

The experience has been fantastic. I love the community, the residents, and the overall ambiance. Most of all, the staff is responsive and attentive.

Searching for a place to live is never easy, lots of things to think about such as location, style, staff, cost and community. When I first spoke to Carl I for sure was not aware of an amazing home he was preparing me for. I said yes to a home that was not ready for move in and Carl explained everything to me and I said yes with trust in my heart that Carl is going to make sure that everything I needed was going to happen. I am very pleased with the outcome of my move in. Choosing the Gables Old Town North is one of the best decisions I made this year. Starting with community the people are super friendly and lots of fur babies to greet which puts a smile on your face.The leasing office is super helpful and friendly and staff work as a team its always clean and the maintenance is always completing task. I am looking forward to the shops that are opening around our community lots of things to do and places to dine with your family and friends. The amenities are an enjoyment both roof tops, gym, yoga area, game room, movie theater, as well the salt water pool is a spoiler. I am for sure happy living at Gables Old Town North.

Everyone has gone above and beyond to make our move as smooth as possible. Thank you! The amenities are great . I have yet to run into a member of the staff who isnt smiling. That says alot.
