We are a group of five, we all got certified to be Advanced Open Water Divers and we were lucky enough to get the store owner Yasmany as our own personal scuba instructor. With other super friendly scuba instructors coming around to help every now and then and the lovely Katie as another of our instructors (she is working on her dive master certificate) we got so much one on one time! A mix of the Blue Hole and Perch Lake got us all certified in no time! The actual store in Albuquerque has every piece of equipment that a diver could need! I could not recommend The Scuba Company enough, we had the best time working with them. If we ever decide we need more certifications or gear… no matter where in the country we might be, we will be calling The Scuba Company every time!

The scuba company was very professional and extremely welcoming. I got certified at blue hole and the instructors were the best. Paul was very professional and fun, he taught us everything we needed to know and made it very easy to understand. KT was a dive master who also helped me with my gear and ensured I was safe and okay. Eladio was an instructor who was very fun to talk with and helped me with all my questions. I will definitely dive again with everyone at the scuba company.

I decided to try diving and was referred by a friend who got certified here. From the moment I walked in the door I’ve had nothing but good friendly vibes from everyone! Jake helped my get all my gear and answered all my questions in great detail! Truly amazing instructors you can feel their passion and love for diving and it was an incredible experience. I was extremely nervous but everyone made me feel so safe and even though it was a large class it felt like private lessons. They’re willing to let you learn at your own pace and come back to keep practicing until you’re completely comfortable. It’s definitely a family atmosphere everyone shares their tips and experiences. Im so glad I picked this shop for my open water classes I would 100% recommend!

There arent strong enough words to describe how amazing this shop is. My wife spoke to several shops to set up lessons for us to get certified and decided this was the one for her. Boy did she nail it. The whole team is amazing!!! Blayne, Yasmany, Cipriano, Paul,.......have been wonderful. We did our certification last month and were so impressed that we gave our kids and their significant others lessons for Christmas. We are just wrapping up the weekend getting the kids certified and couldnt be more pleased. If you want an honest shop that can accommodate from the most apprehensive to the most excited student this is your shop. Great prices and service on equipment too!!!! After I moved to New Mexico from Utah, I was looking for a friendly and professional dive shop I can trust.Now the search is over! They serviced my gear in record short time to accomodate my last minute trip.Very friendly. And busy! No wonder, they are best in town. Ill be back.

Great! Phenomenal! Professional! Caring! Reassuring! Qualified! Patient!I was getting my open water certification with my 21 year old son, more to support him than to fulfill a dream of mine. Our group ranged in age from 12 to 74. Yaz and his team not only got me through the dives, but they did it lovingly, supportively and with great humor. The entire staff is great and their standard of cleanliness for rental equipment cannot be beat. The weekend pool dive (to learn basic skills) was fun and the dive to the Blue Hole in Santa Rosa was more of a challenge for me. I struggled with a couple of skills, and each time I thought I was having a problem, an instructor was magically there, with a hand on my arm, settling me right down. I didnt think I was safe - I KNEW I was safe. The highly qualified staff are a great team. They are friends and dive buddies in addition to colleagues and that closeness helps them function seamlessly. There was no pressure to buy things, although they carry top of the line gear. They do a lay-a-way for those who want to have their own gear. The Scuba Company does regular pool dives so you can polish your skills before travel. Please, do yourself a favor and visit this wonderful place.

I tried Discover Scuba over the weekend and it was amazing!My instructor Eladio was personable and very thorough with his explanation of the equipment. He answered all of my questions, helped me control my breathing (I was very nervous)and gave me plenty of time to make sure I was completely comfortable with everything before we left the shallow end of the pool to descend into deeper water.I’m so impressed with the experience that I’m planning on signing up for their open water certification in the near future. If all the instructors at The Scuba Company are as knowledgeable and passionate about scuba as Eladio (which I suspect they are)I’ll be in good hands every step of the way as I continue my scuba education.

Beginning a new life adventure, my son and I decided to get certified on scuba diving. I was referred to the Scuba Co. and specifically dive master and store owner, Yasmany Fuentes. This is the best scuba place anywhere PERIOD! Whether you want to get certified, buy/rent gear, get professional opinions on gear, etc.., the entire staff is very helpful, professional, and friendly! I was able to get both my open and advanced open certifications over the course of 2 weekends. Our instructor, Blayne, was awesome, informative on demonstrations, and very knowledgeable on all aspects of diving. Our dive master in training helping our group, Chip, as well as our tech diver, Adrian, were both very attentive to our safety and comfort both above and below water as well. Safety here is a top priority! At the shop, Blayne as well as Ariel and Yasmany were all awesome in helping me get the best equipment for the best prices as well as answering any questions I had. Their equipment they rent out for certifications and regular rentals is also top of the line gear compared to what many dive resorts or other places would likely give you. Highly recommend this company!!

This scuba shop has been in buisness since i moved to New Mexico.Ive been friends with a lot of the staff & have taken cources from them in the past.Also have had regulator repair done as well.I use to work for Blue Water Dive & TravelAnd the staff there always would help us as we would help them when we were in business.A great shop with great people.

It is amazing how a specialty shop such as this adapts to and makes the modifications needed to survive during these difficult times,I love the fact that I now have a place to fully inspect my tanks INCLUDING HYDRO TESTS (yay!) and their turnaround means more diving availability faster because of their new revamped service areas.They also now include not only all levels of recreational diver certification including Pro level but they now also offer Tec diving certifications and gear.The shop staff are extremely knowledgeable and their classes offer a low studen:instructor ratio. And diving Rock Lake is an amazing opportunity that only they can provide. Go and visit the shop to see all the changes and while your there pick up some gear and cheer (and some more knowledge on spending more time underwater)

I have been diving for two years with the scuba company. It is a very warm and welcoming environment. Every time I enter I feel like family. Being only 14 years old when I began diving, I had some issues they help me resolve. The instructors are very understanding and patient. Ive taken more courses with The Scuba Co. and feel really comfortable with diving. They have fun diving events that keep me practicing my skills throughout the year. I am only putting one star so this review is not ignored.From walking into the door around November to them handling Covid-19, I was welcomed and informed in courses and purchase of equipment. I started with an Open Water certification and went all the way through to Divemaster.Blayne, my instructor, is extremely knowledgeable in many topics and was able to answer most of my curious questions. Yasmany, the shop owner, ensured I had the opportunity to finish my Divemaster even with everything closed. Both are incredible, enthusiastic, helpful and love diving! Overall, the entire staff has been amazing help in making me a better, educated diver. I’m thrilled to have walked in the doors.

These guys are the best. The instructors are all top notch. Weve worked with all of them and they are always knowledgeable and patient. Great shop with hard working instructors that truly care about their customers. Some people think it is pricey but going cheap and knockoff when it comes to your life is not is the best practice. Paying more for quality instruction is better because you know that you are in safe hands with the best of the best.

The scuba company is basically like family. We took our open water course and purchased a ton of equipment for a dive trip in Belize.Rebecca was our dive master at Blue Hole, she is like momma bear making sure her cubs will survive in the open water. (We did!) Any concerns or questions we had, she addressed right away. We had great and fun dives with her! Blane was very knowledgeable and gave us tips about our equipment, just in case scenarios at the pool.Yasmani makes you feel like you’ve been adopted by the scuba company. He helped us get the best equipment for great price.My only problem was there was some miscommunication and organization issues but we’re resolved . We returned some equipment with no problem.Overall I would pick the scuba company over anyone else because family always looks out for one another 😁

Yasmany was an awesome instructor! He was great about helping us come up with ways to make diving for me, a bilateral amputee, possible! He was seriously amazing and I look forward to many more dives with the friends I made this weekend! Well, we wanted to love it. Salesperson was really helpful, and we ended up purchasing snorkeling equipment for our trip, only to discover the same products online for about half the price. We returned some of our purchase four days later only to be told they have a 20% restocking fee. WHAT? So we wont be back, Scuba Co. If you bully your customers into keeping products then Ill shop elsewhere. Poor business practice and not disclosed at time of purchase.

I have been a dive master with the Scuba Company since 2004, and have had the honor to work with the most thoroughly professional instructors that I have ever known. The course offerings are diverse and support student advancement all the way through Dive Master. The Scuba Company invests $$$$ each year to maintain the most current and top of the line equipment, thereby insuring maximum safety and enjoyment of its diver community. The staff is wonderful! They take the time to get to know customers needs, and educate them about options. They have consistently gone above and beyond to ensure the best fit in BCDs and wetsuits for students and customers. I highly recommend the Scuba Company for fun, safe educational experiences and the best equipment.

Th staff is amazing to deal with just do not purchase products from them. Their prices are high and their return policy is crazy. They charge a 20% restocking fee and I was told it was for the credit card fee. At most they are being charged 3%. I hope that they will review this policy and make changes that will make them somewhat competitive. I will for sure use them for certification in the future.

The Scuba Company has been in business for a long time. Yasmany Fuentes is working hard to reinvent the Scuba Company. The shop now has a new state of the art Bauer Compressor for tank fills for local consumption. The shop has a much better selection of dive gear and a staff that is knowledgeable of the gear. If they do not have something, they can get it quickly. Dive Instruction is provided by a very well trained group of Professional Divemasters. Staff includes specialties such as Tech Diving and adaptive diving. We recently did a trip to Roatan with the Scuba Company and everybody had a great time. If you want good dive opportunities in NM, please support the Scuba Company.

Prices are competitive with real scuba shops where you get real service. None of the people there have ever been condescending and always made us feel welcome. These guys have been the best! I had to schedule a whole group with complicated schedules to get certified, and they went out of their way to make it work. I first tried to make it work with other shops in town and they couldnt make it happen. I have since done advanced certification and truly enjoyed working with their instructors--so knowledgeable and fun. I was so impressed with how much these people really love what they do and really know how to share that love. What started as a really limited hobby for me is becoming a real passion, and this shop is one of the reasons. Thanks!

Most unprofessional and racist treatment I receivedI would like to share my case with you. We rented equipment last month.We dove in Santa Rosa, it was a beautiful dive, but unfortunately I lost a couple of weights during the dive. I returned the equipment the next day and notify the associate about the loss. The associate took several minutes, and told us they will communicate later, because she did not know how to process the billing. Later that week we got an invoice with extra cleaning charges and an extra day charge that sum over $$200(on top of the agreed rental price). I made a complaint, but was threaten to get charges $$2700 deposit (even though they had all the equipment).There is a specific procedure to clean the equipment, this procedure is listed in an agreement, we never saw or signed. We rinse the equipment and brought it back, but the Scuba Company want it to be dry. They found the unfilled contracts (prove they never explain the procedures), but did not remove the charges.During this process were accused of not be willing to pay for lost equipment, lying about the length of our dives, and lying about the missing equipment incident. I felt discriminated as they gave preferences to other customers, and never reply to our complain letter, but threaten us to charge more money. I will never recommend your establishment to any person I know at work, school or other. I will try to discourage any person to go to the establishment

These guys are fantastic. I have learned so much from some truly professional dive masters. Completed advanced, rescue and night diving courses with no complaints.

I would assume that the negative comments listed here are from the scuba shop on menaul, every time i went in they were rude and talked down to me even though i was interested in getting started with classes. the staff here at scuba co. is half female and are very pleasant to talk to, and the goods they sell are not no name brand items but top of the line product, an amazing crew and the classes might cost a small bit more but the fact that they make you comfortable and take their time with you is worth the extra cash.

Over the past 6 months I have had the best experience with the Scuba Company. Both my son and I became certified divers and entered the shop knowing nothing. Yasmani has spent large amounts of time helping us figure out what we needed in gear. He has gone out of his way numerous times to get us the gear we needed. Once he met me after the store had closed and my flight was delayed so my son could still get his birthday present on time. I can not say enough good things about this shop.

The best place ever. This place does PADI a great justice. The lady called Michaela was so sweet and Yasmani was absolutely the most knowledgeable and funny guy. He was the best with my kids and we will continue with all our classes here.

Yasmany and staff are exceptional. The shop staff know their products and are able to suggest the appropriate equipment for your needs. The dive instructors ( Yasmany ) are experts in their fields and will make the learning process fun. The dive Masters ( Blayne, Eladio, Sammi to name a few) are very supportive and knowledgeable. I never once questioned my safety during open water certification. My whole family will be certified by these guys. I have been going to the Scuba Company since getting my PADI open water course in 2015. Thanks to their care and expertise, Ive gone from 0 knowledge base to an enthusiastic diver, the instructors are marvelous! They are constantly updating and upgrading the space, the knowledge the gear- as well as adding new and exciting classes. Stay tuned for future exciting tips to incredible dive locations. Like Cozumel, Roatan, and possibly live aboards, woohoo! We went with them to Roatan and it was a dive paradise. Cant wait for the next trip!
