My husband and I went in to shimmer spa to visit Jessica for facials and what a lovely experience that was! Jessica was pleasant and professional. Plus we both walked out of there with glowing skin! The environment is very friendly, and most of all welcoming! 10/10 we WILL be back!

This was my first experience at a spa and I am definitely coming back! Shimmer Spa creates such a relaxing and calming environment. I am so thankful that this experience was so comforting. This spa offers exactly what you need! Melissa is outstanding and goes out of her way to deliver the best service.

Friendly staff and free gingerbread cookies. Got a fabulous 60 minute message here a week ago, so I made a haircut appointment. Saddest shampooing and conditioning that I have ever received (possibly my fault for being five minutes late). The stylist asked if I wanted hairspray at the end which I did, but NO other hair products were used. The other stylist kept talking to my stylist and showed my stylist a video above my head while my stylist was mid curl. I thought it was odd that we, the clients, were facing each other instead of the mirrors, especially since the other client wasnt wearing her mask. Definitely WOULD recommend getting a message here. Would NOT recommend getting a haircut here if you prefer a one on one conversation with your stylist, being able to see your own hair cut process, and your hair properly curled.In response, her mask was off for almost the entire time that she sat across from me. Yes, I did drink the water given to me and ate the cookie offered to me as I paid by the front door. No one but my message therapist was in the room, and she thoughtfully asked if Id like some water after my 60 minute message and to have a cookie before I left. I am 36 weeks pregnant; so, you comparing me sipping some water and having a cookie then immediately putting my mask back on to a woman sitting with no mask on for over 20 minutes is absurd. Also, for hair to be shampooed, conditioned, cut, blowdried, curled, then pay and drive off in under 55 minutes is not good either... poor spa quality in my opinion. My stylist did an excellent job conversationally in the beginning until the other stylist was quite unprofessional, further ruining the hair cut experience. You clearly believe this behavior among stylists is acceptable. What would have been the point to discuss my frustrations after a horrible experience. This review is meant to inform others about the atmosphere at this salon. Based upon your response to my accurate description of such a disappointing second experience, I would not recommend Shimmer Spa.

I get my nails done with Alex every two weeks. She is professional, personable, friendly and I love my gel manicure every time.I also get massages from Melissa. She is awesome and I walk out of the spa totally relaxed afterwards.

I went to get a cut and eventually color. Carli was the stylist I booked my appointment with and she made the look in my head come to life. She didn’t chop too much off and layered it to my liking. She gave me the new look I wanted and REALLY needed. She got my hair back to my natural color and gave me highlights and I have never felt so confident walking out of a salon. Her service was incredible, and she was incredibly personable. I will get my hair done here as long as I am in Alamogordo.

This salon is always clean and the ambiance relaxing. I highly recommend Carli. She has a lot of experience and cares about her clients. I always leave feeling great about my hair.

I LOVE Shimmer Spa! I love everything about this place! Alex does absolutely beautiful nails, Joslyn always does an awesome job waxing my eyebrows and coloring, cutting, and styling my hair, and Ashley gives the best massages! Shimmer Spa is always welcoming, warm, and comfortable and they all go out of their way to make sure you feel pampered!

Jocelyn is amazing! She is so nice, sweet and did my hair perfectly. I will never go to anyone besides her. The front desk lady was nice and helpful.

When youre new in town its a nightmare trying to find a good stylist but I have definitely found one here. Next Ill be checking out their spa treatments. Highly recommend!

I get all my waxing done here. Ashley is amazing. She always checks that you are satisfied before you leave and insists you call and let her know if you have any problems (reactions to the wax or bumps etc.) If you cant get booked online sometimes shell work you in if you call. Shes so friendly and they are so clean and have a great atmosphere. Ive had a massage here too and loved that as well. They are very accommodating and Im so glad we have them in town.

Joslyn did a wonderful job. She listened to what I wanted and executed it nicely. I received red lowlights and she spaced and colored them very well. She also gave me new bangs and told me how to train them properly. I highly suggest.

Wonderful couples massage! The ambiance and decor set the mood off perfectly for a well deserved, long overdue massage with the wife. Perhaps one of the best, most enjoyable massages in years. Wonderful, firm pressure. So very relaxing.

I went in for a shimmer massage with hot towels and rocks, it was AMAZING! I had never gotten a massage before and with 3 kids and being a military family lets just say my stress level was at an all time high and I was way over due for some relief. I booked my massage with Trisha and she did such a great job, I will definately be going back!!

I believe that Shimmer Spa is a great place to get massages, facials, nails and hair done. Everyone is so kind and welcoming over here and I enjoy being a part of Shimmer Spa. My first experience getting a massage and facial was great! I felt so relaxed and so welcomed. I highly recommend for everyone to make appointments over here because you will be happy with the service that you get!

I LOVE shimmer spa! I have been a customer for about 4 years now and refuse to go anywhere else! Ashley (owner) has great customer service and always greets with a smile. I ask a ton of questions prior to getting a new service and she is always willing to answer them. I have chronic back pain from scoliosis and spinal fusions and she helps me so much. She is very understanding and has experience with my disability and so I am always comfortable going to her. Alex (nail technician) does awesome with my pedicures. Shes very thorough and takes her time. Shes super sweet, easy to talk to and never gets mad about my indecisiveness. Carli (hair) is amazing and super sweet! I have gone from black to blonde and she did it with no damage. Highly recommend this salon & spa!

My wife got a great spa massage and full spa pedicure/manicure with gel, and she had nothing but wonderful things to say after her experience. I was able to set everything up with the friendly staff. The customer service is really top notch, they helped me navigate their appointment system and find times that worked for me, as well as let me pre-pay so everything could be a surprise for my wife.The atmosphere was really relaxing and nice, low light, cool temperatures, soft music, and comfortable seating. The prices are reasonable and my wife even got a discount coupon to come back and get her nails done again for 10% off.Overall, a great experience for any special occasion like Mothers Day, or normal usage. Just spectacular staff and customer experience.

Booked a 1 1/2 hour massage only got an hour massage. They told me they would credit my account. So I booked another massage, obviously not with the same person (she couldnt tell time) and the women was SO rude saying the my account didnt say anything about a credit. Also I was pregnant and she wanted me to lay on my back, when I informed her that pregnant women arent supposed to lay on their backs for long periods of time she told me that I was past 12 weeks so my risk of a miscarriage was low. SERIOUSLY???? DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. THIS PLACE SUCKS. If you are going to offer prenatal massages please understand how pregnancy works.

I have been coming to Shimmer Spa since 2009 and have consistently had the BEST massages, facials, and nail services. The atmosphere alone makes me feel like I am in another place ... thank you for providing amazing services and giving Alamogordo a beautiful place to unwind, relax and just feel amazing the entire visit.

This place is stupid. Bought a gift card from them for my wife on mothers day. The kids accidentally threw it away. I call them to see if there is anything we can do about this and they were not willing to help at all. Thanks a lot for taking my $100 and providing us with no service... bullshit...

Made an appointment for a couples massage on Sunday at 10. Got a confirmation e mail. Show up Sunday and no one is there and no answer on the phone call. Pretty unprofessional, we were really looking forward to the massage:(

Abigail is an experienced esthetian! I enjoyed every minute of my customized facial. I lived in Vegas and had wonderful facials and hers is a great value!
