Not friendly staff. They do what theyre supposed to do I guess but thats it, for some reason is hard to feel welcome . Also, when I returned the car , it was missing 3 gallons of gas compared to the way I took it, I understand that it should be a fee for that, but almost $40 ?? Really? I think like that policy is a little unfair. But even that, the environment in general is what I didnt like the most. To me friendliness is a huge thing.

Their customer service was exemplary. When I had to come back because my tires were off and the air was not correct in them they quickly fixed the problem and gave me additional time because I had to sit and wait an additional 20 minutes for the repairs to be done. Plus I have an unusual name and the representative was able to pronounce my name so correctly I was overjoyed! I will be a repeat customer.

If I could give 0 stars I would. We rented a moving van in Virginia to move my sister to Cleveland. This was the closest drop off place. We stopped at the Circle K a few blocks up the street and filled the van with gas. We dropped the van off and they said we didnt have to do anything as long as it was on time and filled with gas. We returned it early and with a full tank. Notice the next day a charge from them. My sister called to find out what the charge was but they could not tell us and someone would have to get back to us. Finally the next day they stated that they had to put $14 worth of gas in the vehicle. There was no way we burned 5 gallons of gas going 2 blocks. They also have failed to supply us with any receipts or records of this transaction.

I had the worst experience with Akron Budget rental car. I paid $250.00 for a rental car and was charged a $250.00 cleaning fee without my knowledge. It took me a total of 2.5 hours tracking down the reasoning as to why this charge was added to my account. I received no notification of the cleaning fee prior to the charge showing up in my account. Also, what cleaning fee is the exact price of a 3 day car rental? This company is clearly hurting for money. Terrible experience and terrible service. Do not recommend. I have used this company for 4 cars in the last 2 months, I will be taking my business elsewhere. How do you not notify a customer of a charge to their account in detail??

I went there Tuesday to rent a vehicle. Lady a the desk was very rude and as soon as I walked in there it smelled like weed so bad. The workers looked high as hell. Then I called to ask a question and the rudely hung up on me. I called head quarters so. It’s all good. Never rent from any budget ever!!!

Nice vehicle and pleasant staff. Decent price however I did bring the jeep back early but due to pre pay I did not get a refund, maybe I didnt read the fine lines but still slightly disappointed I mean isnt pre pay more security better advantages?! Also the last thing I was told before getting in the jeep was no smoking and when I got in it was permeated with blunt smell. A bit nauseating and irritating.

The representatives at the location were courteous, and I dont blame them, but I had a confirmed reservation through Priceline for an economy car @ $22 a day. When I arrived, they had no cars at all and my only option was to rent a SUV at a much higher rate. This is a breach of contract. I shouldnt have been charged extra.

Picked up rental smelled like straight pot. I told them they sprayed the car and hours later it still smells like pot. If I get pulled over and they smell it which they will. Im the one in trouble. Calling them tomorrow they better make this right. Im not happy at all.

They make renting a car easy and when I needed the car longer I just go in since theyre not far from my house and tell them I need more days and they would say ok and take it out of the deposit. Nice and easy

I made reservations online during the Thanksgiving holiday. Payment was deducted from my account and confirmation email received. I go to pick up the rental and they run my debit card again and said that we can not rent to you due to bad credit check. Im in total utterly shock! Then she asked do I have another credit card or can I used someone elses but they have to be present and I replied no. Then she insisted that I go next door to Enterprise. Ive been a loyal customer at this location for many years and the fact is I just had a rental back in May using my same debit card with no problems at all! I reviewed my credit and its actually better now than it was back in May. So speaking to the rep she replies this is always standard to run credit history before a rental. So you cant give me a car but took my money. I asked for a refund and was told to call customer service. Called customer service and was advised refund will be credited in 5-10 business days. In 5 business days only half of my money was credited back to my account?! So i called customer service back and they said payment sometimes will be split in half which doesnt make any sense to me! Im still within the 5-10 business grace period awaiting for my money. BUDGET took my money during the hard times of a pandemic and couldnt get a refund to even got to another rental place, ruined my holiday plans. This is the worst experience of my life! PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION!!

The place is horrible and should be investgated. Reserved a car and Budget took the money of my kids and did not have a car when they needed to pick it up. My daughter rented a car to drive 3 hours away to my other daughters surprise birthday. The agents wanted her to spend more money for the upgrade. My daughter left out crying with out the rental and without her money. Bad business bad service. Never go to this location never badly ran . Get better you guys and treat ppl with respect. If you have the same experience report them please.

My husband and I have rented many vehicles from this company. Recently we were given a Kia Forte, once we made it home our tire went flat, we could not get on a road because there was NO SPARE tire. We called them, they couldn’t re-book us that day because they didn’t open until 9 and it was already too late for us, so we re-booked for the following day - same reservation. They towed the other vehicle because once again we couldn’t do anything with it since the car came with no spare tire. Guess what happens next, they charge us for two reservations (the original and the re-booked one) PLUS charge us for all of the repairs and towing of the vehicle. This makes no sense, if there was a spare tire we would have taken care of it, but there was nothing! They are the ones that advised towing since there was no spare tire. Never again and advise everyone to stay away.

Avoid these criminals at all costs. I fueled my truck up, so that it had a full tank upon return. The guy at the counter went to check the rental out before I was able to leave (which I know is common practice with any rental company). He advised me that the truck was only showing at three quarters. I informed him that I had filled it to full, and that the nozzle even clicked off a few times; and that I fueled at circle K. He asked if it was the location a block or so away. I could tell that he was trying to further build on his lie by using that fueling location as his scapegoat. Because he fed me some BS story about the truck would give a false reading on an uneven surface. Anyway..dont ever deal with these people, or this company. Youll get a much better grade of treatment at Uhaul.

When I picked up the vehicle it smelled very bad with heavy smoke odors, candy melted into the floors and seats. When I asked about another vehicle they said they only had a smaller SUV which wasn’t acceptable due to my storage I needed. About 100 miles into my 700 mile journey I needed to use the horn on the highway. Didn’t work, unsafe. Very unhappy with the experience and the staff at this location were very cavalier about it all.

The rental car broke down and I had to pay for transportation to work. I was without a car for 5-hours. My replacement car was at AK/CA airport and due to my work hours, i had to clock out from working to pick up the replacement car. I lost pay from work, had to scramble for transportation. I was given a case number and was told to call after returning the car, and I was not reimbursed for my inconvenience or the money that I had to pay to get to work.

Reserved a moving truck over 2 weeks ago and drove 45 minutes to pick it up only to be told, sorry we don’t have any trucks available! Seriously?! Called corporate customer service only to be transferred to every foreign speaking agent they have which is apparently all they have! Later Budget, going to Uhaul! If you’re expecting good service, don’t go here!!!

The staff at the rental agency were extremely courteous, efficient and thorough. I got in and out quickly and everything was managed appropriately. I was able to rent from Budget in a city-based office and return at the airport, and there was no additional charge. That was so much better than some other companies. I will look at Budget first from now on.

This place is beyond unprofessional! WE drove from Akron Ohio to Kentucky on our way to Pigeon Forge Tenn. with no knowledge that the car had a whole joint of weed in it even though it was supposed to have been thoroughly cleaned prior to my reservation. I am a state of Ohio employee and my partner a police officer had we been pulled over that could have been both of our careers and a hell of a time trying to convince the police it didnt belong to us. The sad part is it wasnt even hidden under a seat or between seats which couldve gone unseen during the cleaning and sterilization of the car you know since its covid 19 running around and all. It was right in the center counsel under the radio. When I called this rental place to inform them a. theres weed in in this vehicle b. what do you want me to do and c. this car wasnt cleaned or sterilized at all! I was told by an employee the manager would call me right back 30mins later no call so I contacted corporate. This is so unacceptable! Now first thing this morning I get a phone call from them We would like to know where the key to the car is? You need to have it to us by 830a or we will charge you! I dropped the car off at 1am 9/21/20 because thats what time I came back in town but was surprised to not find a drop box. When I explained this to her she said Well you couldve read the door there a number for late night drops WTH why would I be looking for a number to call at 1a to drop the keys off. Why not have instruction at pickup when I say im doing a late night drop? Why not have an accessible drop like other reputable companies? Upon rental the woman at the counter asked would I be returning at 830am 9/21 I informed her no Id late night drop she replied Thats fine no issue you could actually have it until about 530p 9/21 as we rent on 24hr basis and its currently after 533p 9/17. Now you want to charge me? then she asks where the car is! How do You ask for the key without knowing where the car is? Oh insult to injury still no call from the manager in regard to the weed or lack of cleaning. Just a hot mess! Dont risk going here just go to the airport where theres standards and pride in the vehicles lent out to paying customers!

We prepaid elite suv a week ago. Had so many problems when we got there. They lied and put us in a standard suv. We waiting 2 hours talking to customer service. The vehicle they gave us didnt accomadate the passengers. They had no other vehicles did not offer anything promising at all.

I was called on the morning of my pick up to be told they had no cars they sold out the day before . Also threateneding those who where not happy would be put at the bottom if the list for available cars when they came in . It would have been nice if I would have been called the night before when they knew they where sold out . We went to breakfast then called a KIA SOL had come in . this was much smalled than what we reserved , I am just glad our 4th passagener did not go with us as there would not have been enough room. As it wwas we had to put 1/3 of out luggage in the back seat with a grown man . also it would have been nice if we were offered some discount due to the delay and not the car reserved but no that did not happen. Also the easy pass did not work .

When we showed up to get our car it wasn’t ready. We prepaid for a midsize car. Then they upgraded us into a car that smelled like cigarette smoke with cigarette burn holes in the seat. We drove the car for a day and the smell was unbearable so we returned it to the site for an exchange. They once again didn’t have a mid size car for us and gave us a very small economy car. After driving for 2 days the economy cars front tire was leaking air. We went back to the rental shop to see if we could switch out the car since we were leaving to drive out of state that day. They once again said They had nothing to accommodate us that we should just go to another budget location. We asked for.a discount as we paid for a midsize and got an economy. They said because it was prepaid we couldn’t get a refund or discount for getting the economy car. They aired up the tire and we left. Due to time restraints we could not get to another site. We drive the car for the rest of the week filling up the tire as needed. All around an awful experience.

I had a great time this time with Budget. I needed the car for an additional day due to bad travel conditions and they approved it no problem. The car was clean, smelled great and was in good working order. We traveled to VA and on to Philadelphia and had a really wonderful experience with the office and car. I definitely will use them again.

I have been renting from you guys for over 10 years and I have never been charged a smoking fee because I know better and all the sudden they want to try to charge me a smoke free When I know for a fact I never smoked in the car I barely was in it anyway for the weekend and nobody contacted me at all I just dont have to look on my bank statement and theyre going to charge for the weekend $469 serious a three-day rental and I didnt even have it all day the third day because I turned it in early because I have to be to work the next day and I did not want to be late bringing it back cuz I didnt get off until after the time I picked it up a very unsatisfied customers of a long time renter

This is my second time renting in the past 30 days. 1st. vehicle had mechanical issues. The most recent vehicle smelled of cigarettes and weed. I still have not received any credits for my rentals (the codes emailed did not work?) from customer care. The staff at location were very friendly and tried to help as much as they could.

I always rent from budget have a decent selection of cars and they will try to accommodate if you do not like the one they give you. If wanting an upgrade at counter is usually cheaper then booking the upgrade online. Also be aware that most car companies do not accept debit cards or cash you must rent with a credit card.

The staff here had poor attitudes and customer service. I want quite clear on the policy. I was trying to get a rental car for my stepdaughter who is under 25 and the young lady working was very condescending in her time. I am a customer first and foremost and it is this persons job to give me the best professional service possible and be helpful. Instead the staff acted as if I was a problem customer simply because I didnt quite understand how the process would work. You can tell she just didnt want to be there.

Unfortunately we had a very poor experience with this Budget location. We booked online about a month in advance, received a phone call the day before our reservation informing us that we will have to go pick up our car from the airport as they do not have a car available for us. We then received an email with our new quote which was double what we had already paid. We tried to contact the new number we were given multiple times in the evening and the next morning with no answer. We drove about 30 minutes after being told the airport was only 10 minutes south of the the West Market location. Raven at the Avis/Budget kiosk at the airport was so understanding and very helpful with the situation. We are so appreciative of her service. Overall a disappointing experience with Budget.

Reserved and paid for a rental online for 3 p.m. pickup got there at 3 p.m. and the associate lock the door and would not let me pick up my rental. If they closed 3 p.m. that should not have been given as an option for a pickup time or there should have been a clause saying to arrive 30 minutes prior to closing time. Only reason why I gave two stars waa because online associate was nice enough to refund me my money without charging a cancellation fee

We reserved a ford edge one week in advance the day we showed up at 901am they were out od anything like that so the girl who was helping me aid they would up grade of for free.She said a Talcoma ok we go outside and its a 4 door pickup truck she opened the back door said plenty of room for our other two passengers.I called my husband right away he said no we cant put our belonging in the back it may rain or snow.So i told her no .We went back inside to check other options there was. She spoke to other girl there working about what was going on the other girl said oh upgrade for 7 dollars a day more they went looked at the keys hanging came out and my sales girl says to me its 10 dollars a day more .I was not happy but what could i do i had to be somewhere so i went back and forth and she says they dont have many cars to rent so i asked about another Budget close by and she says they are short on cars but yet never checked to see.she seen i was not happy i said why reserve a vehicle then the other girl said u need to pay in advance i never knew that and i have gotten vehicles here many times before never payed in advance.the girl helping me says you dont have to pay that now only when you return the car My response was was whats two days we still have ti pay 31 more dollars than expected we budget our trip now its more money now or in two days really whats the differance so i said whatever thnking im on a time frame need to go i will handle this when i return vehicle.She hands me keys said your vehicle is sitting in side of building.we were given a Nissin Pathfinder so i left.When i got home to put my stuff in it i opened the hatch and could tell it was not clean there was liquid and gooey stuff in hatch i took pictures cleaned and left.We returned it that monday at 9am they other girl was there not the one who waited on me i told her what had happened she said sorry you should had said somthing before you rented i said i tryed she says oh yea i remember now then

But I love the most was at the time of return, I gave the keys, they did a one minute inspection and everything checked out perfect... I was out in under five minutes.

They take Debit Cards at their location on W. Market St location. The Akron Canton Airport NO LONGER ACCEPTS DEBIT CARDS. They only take major credit cards, this went into effect in March 2017.That is any RENTAL CAR LOCATION at Akron Canton Airport. NO DEBIT CARDS.We still got our discount at this location. GREAT customer service.

It’s funny how the customers blame the staff behind the counter because they can’t read the fine print online. underage fees, deposits, soft credit checks; all on the terms page that no one reads lol. the staff busts their behinds and are very time efficient to try to help the 10+ people in the lobby AND answer a million phone calls. they are so friendly and even go out of their way to try to help someone get a car. the guy in front of me screamed at the agent because they don’t take cash as a payment and continued to tell everyone else their money wasn’t good here. it is, but who would want to take cash to rent out $30,000+ cars? anyways, the car i got was clean and the price was good. better than the airport and their competitor next door. highly recommend

They told me a price of $499 over the phone when I went to rent a van the following day the price had went up to $617. Also they didnt tell me that they would run a credit check until I got there. The only way to avoid that is to have a major credit card that is not a bank atm/debit card. It was however easy to cancel my reservation.

The staff memebers were very unprofessional and unfriendly. They werent willing to help us understand extra charges. The website says that a $10 late fee will be charged if you havent called to extend the rental after 7 hours of being late. We called ahead to notify them that we were running late and were told wed have to pay for another full day. We agreed and asked what time wed have to return the car by. We returned it earlier than said and got charged for being 2 days late, when really we were only one day late. AND it didnt seem like the car was cleaned before our reservation. We found a used comb in the backseat and something sticky behind the wheel. If you want rude and shady service, this is the place to go. I will NEVER rent from here again!

I made a reservation Saturday morning at around 9:00 am for a compact car at the Budget rent a car on 259 market street in Akron, Ohio. When I arrived to pick up my car, I was told that the car I reserved online was not available. The lady at the counter told me that I needed to pay more money to upgrade to the next available size. I thought it was ridiculous to ask me to pay more money for a car that I’d already prepaid for. She gave me attitude about questioning the up charge. She told me that I should have closely read the agreement (the fine print). I ask for a manager to discuss the situation. Cassandra orvo told me the same thing that this First Lady said. They both had terrible attitudes and were very dismissive. She told me that she had to call the owner Mark about the situation. She came Back from the office about 20 minutes later and said there was nothing that she could do for me. I told her that I would just pay the extra money and get the upgraded car. She told me that she would refund me. I told her that I wanted to get the other car and her response was that she wouldn’t rent it to me because I wouldn’t be happy. I thought it was a joke but she was dead serious. She also informed me that Enterprise was next door. I paid for a Lyft to drop me off to pick up the car so I was stranded without a car. I explained that to both of the ladies but neither seemed to care. I called the owner (mark) at the Canton store and he told me that the call was hers. He didn’t seem to care either. I went next door to enterprise to see if there was something available, there was not. I went back in one final time to try to reason with Cassandra. She said that she would not rent a car to me because it wouldn’t make me happy. I then asked her about the upgrade and she told me that the car wasn’t available any more. I clearly didn’t believe that she wasn’t being truthful with me. I had a valid credit card, a valid Drivers license and full coverage insurance. I’ve done business with budget in the past and this is by far the worst experience I ever had. I recorded the whole conversation with Cassandra because I didn’t think anyone would believe me unless they heard it. I wasted a couple hours and more money because of the absolute pettiness of Cassandra orvo. She has no business dealing with customers. She’s way too sensitive to effectively run a business. I’m looking forward to hearing back from you guys because I found the whole situation to be absolutely unacceptable.

**WARNING - AVOID BUDGET AT ALL COSTS** I rented a car from this location on April 29th, 2019, and returned it to the Las Vegas location on Tropicana Avenue on May 1st, 2019. The car was accepted by the employee and I was told that everything was in order and to be on my way. About a month later, I checked my bank account to see an additional charge for $350 from Budget. I called to see why I was charged this excessive amount of money, to which they claimed that I had kept the car for an additional three days, returning the car on May 4th, 2019. I noted that this was impossible as my flight left on May 1st, and wondered why they never attempted to contact me about a car that was supposedly missing for THREE DAYS - no phone call, no email, just a charge for $350 after the car was found (after months on the phone we have determined that Budget “forgot” to check the car back in once I dropped it off, only to check it in and immediately out once the next renter arrived to pick up the car. In addition to the three days that Budget charged me due to them losing the car, they charged me $80 for returning the car on empty, when I have receipts that show I filled the car up minutes before my return time. Today is August 6th, 2019, OVER THREE MONTHS AFTER MY RENTAL, and I have yet to receive my refund from Budget, even though they have agreed that they were the ones who lost the car. I have spent countless hours on the phone with this company as well as my credit card company trying to get the money back that was stolen from me. Budget seems like a good deal for the price, but beware that customer service will fight you tooth and nail if anything goes wrong, and you may end up spending quadruple the amount that you had planned on. DO NOT RENT FROM BUDGET.

Incredibly poor service. Owner, Mark, is predatory. Claiming drivers must purchase the clearly optional insurance. They don’t honor their online reservations or prices. Numerous instances of failure at this location. Fiancé took at Uber all the way to Pittsburgh because of their rudeness and their inability to honor her online reservation. (It was actually 400% upcharge and the 100$ Uber ride ended up being more economical)

My husband made a reservation and was told that the price for the rental would be $165 flat. The manager or whoever he is named Mark told us everything was set up and all we had to do was pay the $165 for two days. We got there and was told no reservation was made even when mark said there was. I even asked him before I hung up the phone I said are you sure? He said yeah just show up at 9 and pickup. There was never a reservation made. They said they were counting on cars to come in and since nothing came back in there was nothing available. Then they needed to do a soft credit check and wanted a $200 deposit. We were never told this by mark. My husband was very upset because he missed thanksgiving with his relatives and decides to just visit for the weekend and now as of today budget screwed him on that too. And to make matters worse the employee and the manager laughed on the phone about the whole situation in our faces. This place is horrible and I will never recommend my relatives to this place. If I could give 0 stars I would. These people are horrible!

Made a reservation for a standard SUV-7 passenger vehicle. When I arrive the pregnant woman who i was told was the manager said standard suv was a 6 passager. I wouldn’t have cared but I was headed OOT within 2 hrs with 7 passagers. I showed my reservation and how it stated 7 passagers Ford Explorer or similar and she said it was wrong. Long story short after I called customer service she gave me a 7 passagers mid size suv. Nothing close to an Explorer. I was still charged for the Standard SUV. I called customer service again to see if i can exchange it somewhere. They told me yes. However, no one around me had any standard SUVs. So i had to go back. They gave me a buick enclave which is really similar to a Ford Explorer but charged me to upgrade. The budget that was out of standard suv instantly told me that WAS a Standard SUV and I shouldnt pay extra. I pulled up at 5:58pm they closed at 6pm I had no time to argue and I was supposed to be on the road already. When I return the vehicle i was anxious to see what class they charged me for. When I looked it stated Mini-Van. The buick Enclave is a SUV.All that to say this LOCATION will lie to you and scam you out of your money. Plus the manager is rude. Not to mention while spending hundreds of dollars there they wont let you use the bathroom. My baby use the restroom on herself and was crying.I have done business with budget for years and honestly still will. As a whole I think they are great and still remains my first pick. I called customer service they reimbursed me the upgraded charge soon as they heard me story. They also helped me file a complaint. However due to the time and stress spent on this issue, the lies and manipulation I will never return to this location and I will let anyone thinking about doing so know my story.

Your reservation doesnt mean anything to them!I reserved a car 2 days in advance at 10 minutes before my pickup time they called me that they dont have the car and my reservation is not expensive enough for them to find me another one! I called budget customer service and the representative on the phone said he found another car near my location but I should pay more than double the reservation price! So even if the prices may seem good on their website, they will try to rip you off at the moment you need the car!Also, the location manager was super rude and literally told me since my reservation isnt expensive enough for him, he doesnt care.
