Very easy process from the time of booking the car, to the pickup, and return. We got a clean car in great condition. The staff at the pickup/drop-off location were very efficient and friendly.

Absolutely the worst customer experience in a long while for a frequent traveler. I rented a car today from budget/Avis and when I tried to add a second driver they refused because the second driver did not have a credit card, only a debit card. I as the primary provided my credit card and they took authorization for the entire rental amount + $200. I even offered to put an additional deposit. But the “manager” rudely refused. When I pointed out that state law prohibits them from refusing rental solely based on not having a credit card. He said that it was a company policy and he only cared about their policy. I then pointed out the sign they have posted that states exactly what I told him. He just ignored me and went to the back office. Unprofessional, rude, and working a policy that violates state law. Very toxic mix. Stay away.

They REFUSED TO HONOR MY RESERVATION made 3 days in advance using my VISA Credit/Debit card. I went through Priceline to get a good price and put in all my information INCLUDING THE CARD into the system. If they had a problem with my card or with my use of priceline even though I wasnt traveling by air, that should have been revealed up-front at the time of the reservation. NOT 3 DAYS LATER WHEN I WAS PICKING UP THE CAR.The system accepted the card. I took an Uber all the way to the airport to pick up the car and they said since it was only a debit card and I didnt have an itinerary, they would not honor my reservation. Note that the round trip from the airport cost me $50. Not to mention that in light of hurricane Ida which had sidelined my personal car, it was going to be IMPOSSIBLE to get another car on such short notice.Since Ida, I have been displaced from my home, I dont have. a regular car and have been subject to massive PRICE GOUGING by car rentals. In this case, I was TRYING to keep myself safe while keeping an eye on my home from further water damage during a coming storm. It was vital for the protection of myself and my home that I have reliable transportation for today and now I have NOTHING. So if my home is further damaged, or I am harmed by this - thats ON YOU BUDGET CAR RENTAL.After two weeks of this, Im sick to death of these rental companies that refuse many manners of legitimate payment of American currency while prices have SKYROCKETED in the wake of Ida. I have no problem with capitalism if it is not predatory, but this is predatory and I have NEVER had my VISA from Chase refused before.Word to the wise. If a customer makes a reservation using a credit card online AND the reservation was accepted AND they show up with the same credit card to pick up their car, the company needs to HONOR THAT RESERVATION -. Thats a thing called CUSTOMER SERVICE. Try it some time.Meanwhile, NYS needs to investigate all major rental services for price gouging. Ive been renting since the storm and I can tell you the prices just keep going up, up and away. I was using Priceline to get SOME CONTROL BACK on the runaway prices. They directed me to the airport Budget Rental. No one said I couldnt use my Chase card and I needed an itinerary to get the discount.

I was hasseled by using a debit card. I have more than enough money in my account to cover the rental....however Budget would not allow use of a Debit card. I had to ask my fiancee to use her credit card. Not at all in the contract- no one told me of these stipulations. I will not recommend Budget to anyone because of this

Budget is understaffed , no visible management to assist staff , AND YOUR PRICING IS ONE STEP SHORT OF ARMED ROBBERY !!!!! $126 per day for a compact ! I cannot support your organization

I had a nice vehicle, but Budget poorly maintained it. I wanted to check the fluids and tires to make sure it was ok, and the car was well maintained. I had found ALL 4 tires way below the minimum specified (35 psi, cold)-all four were at/below 30 cold. The oil barely registered on the dipstick--there was barely any oil in the engine, for who knows how long = engine damage. Upon inspecting the engine oil change sticker, it stated the vehicles oil should have been changed 11/22/2019--almost 1.5 years ago, or at 20 thousand miles---the vehicle had nearly 28,000 miles on it. Further, the engine coolant was below the minimum line. I imagine the engine air and cabin air filters also desperately need to be changed. I enjoyed driving the vehicle, I just wish Budget took better care of thier vehicles and maintained and inspected them as needed to keep value high and operation good. I was displeased that Budget does not maintain a nice car better, only to trade it in and have it possibly develop issues later on due to poor maintenance, for someone who can only afford a used vehicle. I hope that Budget finds this vehicle and gives it the proper maintenance and inspection it needs and requires. Im not sure I will use Budget again for their lack of vehicle maintenance.

This is one of the worst companies they take your money after you return car. i was charge extra 250.00 no one returned a message or call .. beware !!!

The car was filthy dirty it said that they cleaned it because of covid-19 I took my own wipe and wipe down the steering wheel and it was black not to mention you charge me over $1,000 for 2 weeks which I think is so overpriced and ridiculous and the engine light went on and off I called and they said dont worry about it I almost had to stop and waste my time and go get the car checked if they didnt tell me not to do it thats what I would have done the car had a lot of miles on it for that price not worth it

The van was clean, ran great, automatic EVERYTHING. My kids enjoyed the ride which in turn made our ride peaceful. Pick up and drop off was super easy and painless, even though we dropped off after hours. Overall, SUPERB EXPERIENCE. Thank you BUDGET.

I got to the counter and the car that I reserved was not there. I had reserved an SUV and all they had was a Toyota Corolla, which did not work for me because I had a lot of stuff to carry in the car. I had to wait until the next morning to get a car that was a little smaller than the one I reserved. The staff was initially completely unhelpful (even the manager), but then one of them really did everything in his power to get me a car the next morning. This is why I am giving two stars. In the end it worked out, but it was a very frustrating experience.

Easy - fast - efficient

Super easy transaction. Picking up the car is always a breeze (Ive rented from Budget several times). The desk clerk (M Crouse) is always pleasant and helpful.. (I usually pre- pay and am just handed the keys and Im out of there. Cars are exceptionally clean and well maintained

I rented a car which reeked of smoke. I had hoped that driving in with the windows open it would get better. I called to get the car replaced and was told to bring it to a different budget near me. I was told that it would be on my record and there would be no problem. I returned it to tween New Haven airport. The man at the desk asked me what I was doing there. I explained that I was getting a replacement car because it reeked of smoke. He told me he was going to have to charge me for the smoke. I told him I have never smoked in my life. He said to me “lady, that is your word against my word.“ I was completely flabbergasted. I told him that I was not the person who smoke . He told me I could only get a pick up truck to replace the big SUV that I had paid for. I am 69 years old and I’m not climbing up into a pick up truck. He told me that was my problem. I told him that they were plenty of cars in the parking lot and I was not going to take a pick up truck. He finally agreed to it but was quite nasty. Regrettably, I am traveling soon, and really do not want to deal with budget again.

Clean car, and no issues

I was quoted a price of 133.72 for my one day rental. I returned the rental 43 minutes early, with a full tank of gas, and when the agent gave me the receipt, it was for over $100 more than I originally signed for the day before. The agent had no idea why & told me to call Budget. I called and the reason I was given was I returned it early and did not keep it for the agreed upon time of 24 hours. I was told that I had it for a little over 23 hours and that meant the contract quote I was given was not good since I returned the car early. This reason is ridiculous. I was given a refund for the difference after a long discussion. Which is also ridiculous. I was told it will now take up to 7 days to receive my refund for returning the rental car 43 minutes early. Again, ridiculous. I will not rent from budget again after this experience.

I was able to order the car ahead of time which allowed me to look and decide at my leisure and saved a lot of time in person. When I got to the rental spot it was very fast and efficient and returning the car was even easier. Staff was helpful and accommodating. The rental was exactly what I expected and asked for!

The policy here is completely different from what they say online. It seems this location pulls things they say out of mid-air and the employees don’t care at all about how much they’ve ruined your travel plans. You can read the fine print multiple times (like I did) and still get screwed. Save your energy.

I was helped by a gentlemen Garfield. He was courteous and professional, as was the rest of the staff. He went above and beyond to make sure I received the car I wanted and got the best price. I do a lot of traveling and I would rate this experince with renting a vehicle among the best.

Budget has been good to us and we always appreciated the service, we had rented a high quality vehicle fo 4 days and paid $330. Upon running in to a family emergency we had to extend our rental for 1 day and were charged $266, that is 78% of a 4 day rental. It is a predatory practice and Budget should be ashamed of taking advantage of these situations

Quick and easy pickup and return. The agent was on a personal call on her cell phone before and during the entire pickup process which I didnt appreciate, but Id rent from Budget again nonetheless. It still didnt take long.

Arrived after 9 at night and the woman on the counter still smiled and was very efficient and helpful, and the men in the lot when I was leaving AND returning were terrific. The return was amazingly easy. The car was spotless. Thank you.

Pick up at one airport and drop off at another was quick and flawless. No waiting at eiither end, and staff at both airports were very friendly . The car was clean and ready to go.

I fly into White Plains because its so easy to rent a car and be on my way. Budget made it that much easier! Id compared prices, and by far, Budget was the best deal. The car was roomy and easy to handle. Everyone we encountered was helpful and friendly. Next time, I wont even feel the need to comparative shop...Im just going straight to Budget. Thanks for making our trip easy and relaxing!

Attendant was friendly, efficient, and quick (especially appreciated after a long day of travelling)! Pick up was super easy and quick. Car was clean and ran perfectly! Drop off was even easier and more quick than pick up (if thats even possible)! Great experience. Id do it all over again!

After making a reservation was denied for a car after arriving in Westchester County airport and cant get a car from another company because they require 24 hour in advance reservation so now stuck in New York when I need to get to Connecticut. Management has no answer and my credit is not bad. Called customer service and got no explanation besides telling me to speak to a manager. Absolutely ridiculous when I was told with a Visa debit card I would need to pay for everything in advance which I was willing and able to do and its freezing out. Worst experience ever!

The Budget service at the Westchester Cty Airport is excellent. Not only are the cars always good but the staff are ultimate professionals. Nancy and all of the employees are always courteous and friendly. They really make the rental experience a positive one.

I only rented the car for 24 hrs, however I decided to return the same day as I had reached my destination. When I arrived at the drop off, which turned out to be a hotel, there was only hotel staff there and no place to leave the car. It was very frustrating

Budget gave us a great price for the car rental for the week. Pick-up of the vehicle was easy, and the vehicle was just what we were expecting. It drove well and the drop-off process went very smoothly. Great experience. I would highly recommend Budget for all your car rental needs!

It was easy and affordable! We rented an suv for 2 weeks from Budget at the Westchester airport. I never thought we could afford an suv, but found a great deal from Budget. There were no issues from pick-up or drop-off.

I reserved a vehicle for use during a trip to NY state. The reservation was paid in full for the time we thought we would need the vehicle. We received an unexpected emergency at our home in Phoenix, AZ and had to return home. We drove the vehicle 30 miles and returned it less than 24 hours later and we were charged $10 80.37 for the rental. No where in the rental agreement is there any reference to indicate that there is a non-refundable charge if it was necessary for a customer to have return the vehicle ahead of time and then be penalized for unexpected circumstances which they incur. Our Budget Confirmation # was 16896673US3. I would like a customer service rep. to contact me for an explanation .

Fantastic stuff. Got a 2014 car which was a surprise since I used to always get the latest model cars. But was a great Ford Escape though. Staff helped me drop the rental car to a different location than chosen earlier without any extra charges. Way to go !

Smaller airport so you dont have the selection you expect at larger airports. I wanted a full size sedan, but all they had was a mid SUV.

Excellent service, great car. Small counter so it can move a little slow, but just give yourself a few extra minutes and you will be fine.

Renting from Budget at this Airport is so easy, quick and efficient. You can get keys and paperwork 15’ from the baggage claim carousel. I was done before the luggage arrive and in my Budget rental car 4 minutes later.

I waited a few minutes in line, but only because the clerk was helping an irate renter, who, it turns out, had a reservation with another company. When it was my turn, she took the time to tell me the customer was just frustrated because her children were giving her trouble. Quickly and kindly she finalized my reservation, not trying hard to sell me any extras, and got me on my way. Best price at the airport as well.

Budget is great...good price, nice cars, very professional staff. BUT.....they should make sure car windows are clean. This my 2nd rental in a row where front windshield ok back windshield disgustingly dirty. Sun shined on window and could not even see out. Had to stop at gas station to clean.

I will never rent another budget or Avis car. The first car you gave me died the next morning, then you made me take an Uber back to the airport to pick up another car even though I said there was a budget 10 miles away. And to top it off you have the nerve to only reimburse me $50, instead of the $89 you forced me to pay. One is too many stars.

Rented a Chrysler Pacifica for a 9,000 road trip. BRILLIANT car- ask for the Stow-and-Go seats and the Active Cruise Control. So helpful!!!

I will never rent from budget ever again due to an overwhelming painful and terrible customer service representative “Kim” provided. She was the most senior individual at the Westchester airport budget location. Removing a cracked wisdom tooth without painkillers would be more pleasant than dealing with Kim or this location. Even with a broken leg I would rather walk 90 miles over picking up a car here again. STAY AWAY unless you want to witness what terrible customer service looks like. Just for sport or for a business case study on how poor customer service can slowly destroy a company and the trust it has with its customers.

The entire Budget staff at Westchester County Airport is to be commended for their courtesy and professionalism. Lots of companies have cars to rent; it was the helpfulness of the Budget staff that made all the difference.

Traveling to Westchester airport is a piece of cake to begin with, but renting a car from Budget is the icing on that cake! Prompt friendly service at the rental counter, great prices, and best of all, this Florida girl got a jeep suv for the first snowfalls of the season in Poughkeepsie!

They give one price but then they hold an additional $200.

Service at the counter was okay, but the car was a mess! smelled like an ashtray of cigarettes, rear view mirrors were dirty, smears on the windshield. Like it was not serviced at all. worst rental I ever had.

Loved my Rav4. Shiny and clean. And the airport is a BREEZE to get to/from in the NYC metro. Like Arnold says, Ill be baaaaack. :)

Because the car was not cleaned properly and I did not get a receipt. I tried to get one online and your website wont give me one even though I am a Fastbreak member.

Upon return staff was rude and stand offish. 2 shuttle buses drove by and did not stop. Had to wait over 30 minutes for ride to terminal
