After being diagnosed with a thyroid condition last year, my hair was really suffering. I went to Rafael with a very damaged hair from wrong type of treatments and coloring ingredients. I kept losing a lot of hair over the following 2 months after coloring and treating my hair. Raffaele is my hero! I foolishly tried to lighten my hair at home and ended up with a giant orange mess. He was very honest upfront and told me exactly what I needed to do in order to fix my color and not end up with broken damaged hair. He took the time to explain it every step of the way, telling me exactly what each part of the process was doing. I left with all of the horrible color out of my hair, and back to my original color. Hes so professional and knowledgable, and I immediately put my trust in him. I highly, highly recommend going to see him for color.

I called Raffael’s salon near in tears and he made a special trip in on Saturday to see me. I cannot say enough how much I appreciate him fixing my messy hairdo to restore my self confidence.Raffael graciously gave me back my style! He understood the proper way to add volume to my fine hair. While I had to get it cut short to compensate for the other salon’s mistake, he made sure to keep my style feminine. I had been looking for a stylist for over 8 years. I have had alopcia since my early 20’s and was struggling with a thinning crown for quite some time. Due to my self consciousness I was absolutely terrified to get into a chair and have anyone touch my head yet alone see the issue I was attempting to conceal for so many years. Raphael was beyond understanding and had me come in on his day off when it was slow to insure I was comfortable. I had a phenomenal cut and color done that revolved around my issue. I actually wore my hair down for the first time in 2 years if that says anything. He brought my dark brown, dull dry hair to a soft Gold/brown that looked full, heathy and beautiful. It was an emotional experience that was well needed. If your suffering from any issues at all or just want a change this is definitely your guy. His knowledge of hair is exceptional and he truly does have a wonderful line of products that I highly recommend as well. 52 years of experience is a major plus in my book and it doesn’t hurt that he’s quite charming and handsome. Just being honest. Hope this helps someone else out there.

I only go to Raffaeles since Im picky about who cuts and lightens my hair. My hair is wavy so it tends to be dry, and bleaching dries it even more, but Raffaeles quality products leave it soft, shiny and natural looking. He works with me when I want to try different styles. You know you have a quality cut when your hair continues to look good as it grows out between appointments-- I think thats the difference between European and American training. Before I found Raffaele I used to drive across town and pay more for exceptional service. Raffaeles prices are very reasonable, and his studio is conveniently located by I70 on the west side of town.

I am new to Colorado and had no idea where to get my hair fixed after an at-home highlighting mishap. The hair gods were definitely in my corner because I found Raffaele online and he saved my hair. ***THE WORST HAIR CUT I’VE EVER HAD*** After 15 minutes of waiting I was finally seen by Raffaele I was met by some very blunt and direct questioning, followed by some very personal insults about my previous hair cut, which I felt to be very unnecessary. In hindsight, I should have walked out at this point. This set the tone for the appointment, Raffaele was rude and unprofessional throughout. No sign of the courteous service mentioned in the previous reviews! I almost couldn’t believe it was the same person. I tried to explain what I wanted to Rafaele but I was just interrupted and asked where I got my cut and color done, which had no bearing on what he was going to do, which he even admitted himself. Raffaele then felt it appropriate to berate me for my bad hair cut, poor condition and the color. I was so shocked and upset. On more than two occasions throughout the cut, he continued berating me. I feel so embarrassed, especially as this was around other stylists and customers. I felt mortified that I was being spoken to in such a manner. I left feeling truly humiliated by Raffaele‘s comments and frustrated at myself that I didn’t leave earlier than I did. I left with the worst hair cut I have ever had. He literally butchered my hair. That was even the words of another stylist from the salon I went to, to get the cut corrected. He literally hacked in to my hair with a razor blade at all different and weird angles, at no point checking the lengths of the layers and whether they were even. I am devastated with the results. The cut has made my hair look thin and straggly, which is the opposite of what I wanted. I asked for my bangs to be cut in to, so he started to hack in to it, again I tried to give him direction of what I was looking for, but he didn’t listen. I have now been left with completely uneven bangs and it isn’t anything like what I had tried asked for on more than one occasion. Raffaele was too focused on how he wanted to cut hair, rather than listening to his customers needs. He was far too head strong and didn’t take any notice of what I was saying to him, at any point during my appointment. 15 mins after I got in the chair, more customers arrived waiting for hair cuts Raffaele, which I was really surprised about considering he had literally only just washed my hair and started to use a razor on it at this point. It all felt rushed and very uncomfortable. At no point was I made to feel welcomed and looked after as a customer. There was clearly not enough time to cut a long hairstyle. It felt like a bit of a conveyor belt of hair cuts. As mentioned earlier, Raffaele was made fully aware that I had long hair when I booked the appointment. I was then told by the end of it, that the razor was used as a ‘short cut’ and after such a stressful experience, I was was absolutely horrified! I wish that Rafaele had made me aware that he did not have time to cut my hair and that he was planning on taking a ‘short cut’, I would have declined the appointment and gone elsewhere. I am leaving this review as an honest reflection of my experience, based on the poor service and cut I received. I have never left a salon feeling so upset. Upon reflection, I can’t help but wonder about the legitimacy of the reviews after I had such a bad experience. I do not make a habit of leaving negative reviews, but I made an exception in this case, as I was left feeling really emotional and quite traumatised by this experience. Overall, the worst customer service experience and hair cut that I have ever had.

Raffaele has now been my stylist for the past year and I can honestly say that I have not had a bad hair day in that entire time. I wear my hair short and always thought I didnt have very good hair until Raffaele explained to me that I had great hair, just not the right haircut. Raffaele takes great pride in his work, listens to what I want, and then actually finds a way to make what I want practical for everyday. I have naturally wavy hair and he has helped me find style options that are practical for my job (able to go into a ponytail), cute when I have the time to dry and straighten, and practical to wash and wear as a new mom. Amazing!
