Took my beautiful 2000 Subaru Outback on a road trip… 2k miles away from home, my car breaks down. Bummer. I show up at Japanese Auto Services unannounced and they take all the stress away. Even though they were busy, they took the time to help out an outsider. The whole team came out to push my car into their shop (even though apparently I just forgot how to start my car!) and they let me inside to look on as they worked. Everyone there is exceptionally nice and the work they have done was amazing. They informed me of all the different parts that needed to be replaced but never did I feel pressured into any of it. I definitely recommend taking your Japanese car to the hands of these pros. Special thanks to Rob and Joe! And thank you to everyone else on the team.

I scheduled an appointment to have the guys replace a broken clutch mounting bracket on my 1995 4Runner. They quoted me a price up front, got the parts in advance, and completed the work as scheduled. I couldnt be happier with the timeliness and quality of the work and am happy that I have found a home for any future work on my beloved Toyota. Thanks guys!!

I’ve never been happier with having my vehicle fixed in my life. Scheduled an appointment, dropped my vehicle off and was updated so quickly on what was wrong. Matt gave me a heads up that it may be next day when they were done with the fix, but then delivered ahead of schedule. Joe was the technician on my car and I’m just so impressed with how to the point and well done the work was.Vehicle: Nissan XterraWork done: oil leakThey also have a contactless experience that includes a link with updates sent to your phone. So innovative, and honestly what won me over with being able to see the notes and issue recommendations with the option to approve or not. Super innovative and definitely sets this shop apart!Would recommend 10X over, and will be referring my family and friends!

Overall I had a great experience with Japanese Auto Service. While I believed to know exactly why the transmission seal was leaking, we talked through other options and expectations. The price I was quoted and charged was far less than at the Dealership and seemed reasonable for the work performed. I was happy to see their mechanics are trained to the highest standard.I could tell they truly cared about my experience and other customers based on the conversation that I had with them, and the conversations I overheard while waiting to check in for service.Plus they had some sweet personal rigs on the lot as well, which is always a good sign! Thanks Guys!

I brought my 2004 Toyota 4Runner to Japanese Auto Service after going to Mountain States Toyota. Japanese Auto Service actually went on a test drive with me so they could hear the noise coming from the rear. They were able to then diagnose and repair what was causing it and I was able to pick my vehicle up the next day. Mountain States Toyota told me they didnt find anything wrong with the rear of the vehicle, but they found something that was in the front of the vehicle.I will definitely use Japanese Auto Service again, and will tell my friends with Japanese made vehicles to use them as well.

I have been to this shop twice now. They are amazing! The first time my Radiator blew. I called them panicked since my truck was my only vehile. They got me in right away, and fixed it quick. The second time was today. I broke the mirror on my truck. I took it in so they could order parts. Matt helped me. Matt looked at my mirror said I think I can fix this He got it all back together, and working. No charge. I adore this shop, and trust them which is rare it seems like.

I love this place. Ive got a 01 4Runner that they turned around completely. The first inspection and subsequent work has been really thorough and well done. I appreciate that they (Rob, Ross and the whole crew) took the time to explain what each of the problems were and how they were going to fix it. Super trustworthy and professional, they have a customer for life in me and I recommend them to friends!Work theyve done: brakes, HVAC, timing belt replacement, drive belt replacements, radiator hoses, bushings, mounting/balancing newer, larger tires, suspension, oil changes.

McDonald Mazda kept on saying that my suspension was fine despite the noises coming from my front wheels. I took it to JAS and they pinpointed the problem under 30 seconds. They were able to fix the problem the same day. Their measures to respect social distancing are exemplary, their communication skills are excellent and the quality of their work without comparison. I was not looking for cheap, I was looking for somebody I can trust. They just got a customer for life.

I love that we found this auto shop for our Japanese made vehicles. They are always kind and thorough. Plus I love that they are on the light rail so we can drop a car and catch a ride to work on a train. No more needing two people to do drop offs. They are also completely contactless with CoVid now. Love seeing businesses being resourceful and safe during this time. Highly recommend.

Theyve moved to a fully touchless process where you drop the key in a dropbox without waiting in the lobby. Notes and updates were sent via a link they texted and it broke down the different services completed, as well as asking for approval before replacing the battery per their recommendation. Payment was done through the site as well and they sanitized the car and left the key for me to pickup. They were very responsive when I called. I wasnt always sure which extension to use, but each person was able to assist me.

Very satisfied with my experience here. These guys are NOT cheap, but also they are NOT a ripoff!Brought my 97 4Runner in for inspection/service. They prioritized the issues on the car - we wound up replacing my front ball joints. The repair was completed within the time & budget that they quoted me - no hassles. The repair has been solid now for almost 3 months. Great work, AND its all under warranty for a year/12K miles.Highly recommended - I will be back!

Great Guys - Went Out of Their Way to Help!Im a non-local who was traveling through Golden, and the hood release on my 1997 Mazda wasnt working, making it really chancy to travel further without being able to check the oil level. When I called them, Cliff told me to bring it right in, and when I got there, I discovered the parking lot to be almost full. Still they came right out and looked it. Fortunately the fix was fairly simple - to reattach a spring, and after they added a bit of brake fluid, I was soon on my way. Another repair shop might have said Were loaded with work -- Sorry we cant help. After two people spending 10-15 minutes on this, I was told No charge, which was super generous. But I was very relieved to not be stuck over the weekend, and I tipped both of them, which is really quite something, given what a cheapskate I can be.Thanks guys! That was really above and beyond the call of duty to help out someone who wouldnt be repeat business. If I lived here, I would never consider bringing my car anyplace else.

I brought my new-used 4runner in to get a check up and a timing belt, and they were able to give me a comprehensive list of maintenance items that will need to be done within the next year or so. We picked what to knock out first, then planned ahead to get the rest on the next services. Also Doc is great to work with and their new shop is super nice. They’ve earned a new loyal customer. I was really stressed about an electrical problem I was having with my 2003 Subaru. I had taken the car to two other places that had done reliable work in the past and they couldnt fix the problem. In fairness they couldnt replicate it. Then, a friend recommended Japanese Auto service. These guys took the time to get to the root problem. They spent an hour or more road testing the vehicle until they finally were able to replicate the problem. Then they 100% fixed it. The difference with Japanese Auto Service is they took the time to make sure my car was fixed. I wasnt just another customer off the street. The bonus for me, When I got my bill, it was less then I expected. I almost felt guilty for all the work they had done for me. If you need your car fixed, this is the place to go. for sure.

This repair shop used to my go to shop for work on my Japanese cars. But my last visit was awful. Their price to replace a timing belt was already $200 higher than a competing shop, and then they overcharged me $100 on top of that. I called and left a message to ask for clarification but got no return phone call. They were also going to charge me over $250 to replace four plugs and wires ... about a 30 minute with about $50 in parts. that would would out to be labor rate of $800 per hour. And they didnt ever repair the thing I brought the car into the shop to repair. At these prices, you might as well go to the dealer. At least youll get a free Coke or coffee while your waiting.

I have used these guys for years now and put 30k+/yr on my forester. You stand in line (if theres a line) and people talk about how many years theyve been coming to these guys. Your car is in safe hands. I have had issues that took time to fix completely, but I was never treated unfairly, personally or financially. It would seem unrealistic if I didnt put an unflattering observation in the post: service specialists, in general, tend to either be really great at what they do, or really great with people, but rarely both. It can be difficult to communicate with great mechanics because they deal with a lot of unhappy people who are upset that their car is broken down (again!), and so they come from a defensive place a lot of times. Just know that going in, and things will work out for everyone!

Review based on one experience. Overall it seemed like an okay shop with descent knowledge, customer service, and fair prices. But, they did sort of throw a hose clamp at a power steering leak that didnt solve the problem at all and was a bit expensive for a shot in the dark. Another shop diagnosed and fixed it for less than I paid these guys. Second, they put cheap coils on and the wrong spark plugs for my TRD supercharged vehicle. Not impressed and had to change them out less than 3 years later. Also, I have called since for another follow up appointment and waited over a week with no call back despite leaving a message. Haven’t gone back. Don’t plan to.

After many bad experiences with mechanics who talked down to me or lied to me, I was referred to these guys by a co-worker. I will NEVER go anywhere else. Ive been a customer since 1992. Steve and Ross take the time to explain what they think is wrong with the car and what the possible options are. Sometimes I want to get something fixed and Steve wont do it because he thinks its not necessary, even though he could just shut up, fix it, and charge me for it. Several times he has sent me to the dealership or other places that can perform the repair more cheaply than he is able to. NEVER have they treated me with disrespect, even when Im pretty much asking for it. I only buy Japanese cars now because I dont want to have to find another mechanic.

Its pretty sad that a company whos namesake is Japanese auto service cant begin to tell you what it would take to repair an actual car from Japan. I imported a vehicle from Japan recientaly and I believed a mechanic who supposedly specialized in JDM vehicles would be able to quote me prices. Oh how I was wrong. I was told that because my car is right hand drive that I couldnt get a quote over the phone, because, I would have to call Nissan to get some answers. And, That diagnosing the problem would take either a few minutes or could potentially take quite a few hours. One thing they could quote me with confidence is the price per hour is $112.50. I would never allow a Mechanic to touch any of my vehicles without an agreed price before the work begins. Its too easy to tack on some extra costs without that agreed price. I wouldnt say they are horrible, however, they are no experts in Japanese autos.
