The therapists are all great. Unfortunately its the management of billing that really sucks. They were supposed to charge me after every session. They apparently did not and are now expecting me to pay an over $800 bill. I just sent a letter today as they did not charge my new insurance either after the new year and charged me full price.Its hard for me to just cough up $800 just because they didnt keep up with their billing. Thats alot to ask of a person. So just be aware and maybe put the money to the side as there is a chance they arent charging you and are racking up the cost.

I have been calling for weeks for my daughter to have an appointment. We had one appointment then the company missed another and never called me!!!! I would never recommend this place. Me tal health shouldnt be this difficult to get help in.

I was supposed to have my first telehealth appointment with one of their therapists and they completely ghosted me. I emailed multiple times and called and no one got back to me. I am sure I had the right date and time and had all my intake forms in. What a completely unprofessional way to treat someone suffering from mental health issues, especially for someone with anxiety.

Awesome set up great Counsleor I’ve been with her for about 3 years Nd have made significant progress I would recommend her to anyone she’s so easy to work with works with me with scheduling and time slots and days just all around great counselors Cori Capiano is a very versatile And assertive to her clients needs Nd goals wouldn’t wanna go anywhere else!

If i could give this place one star, i would. at the very least some of the therapists are very unprofessional, after several attempts to contact my therapist i got left on read and my calls declined many times with no reason given. my mental health issues were not addressed and all connected to my gender dysphoria leading to a severe decline in my wellbeing. do not go here if you’re actually looking for help.

Waste of time. Had to register as a new client then make an appointment a week out just for an unenthusiastic receptionist to tell me they had no openings..... really? In the email it said tele-call 10-15 minutes. For a private company they run it state facility.....

Awesome with children and adults! Counselor was amazing and attentive!! Never missed an appointment and even came to my home to accommodate my son and myself... I highly recommend this place to anyone who needs a helping ear!!

Last week I was waiting in the waiting room for my daughter to finish her session and the owner walked in with some beautiful vegetables from the office garden. I inquired about the vegetables and she told me the clients helped grow them and they donate their crop to the community. She invited me to enjoy the garden as well. Staff make you feel welcome and at home here. Very kind and lovely people.

Tides of Mind has always been quick and efficient when I have needed to contact them. I was set up right away with a great therapist and I have been extremely happy with my counselor ever since. She is calm, patient, easy to talk with, and asks the right questions. She helps me to work through things and has provided me with resources and ideas to work on myself. I would recommend Tides of Mind to anyone looking for therapy.

I have been going here for almost a year now to do treatment for a trauma I experienced as a child. Im really thankful I found this place. The office in Waterbury is small and private which is good for me. My counselor is even available to when I am not in session at the office! Great place for counseling.

Only a block from the bus line, my counselor is AMAZING!! She has always been a great listener and would guide me in the right direction and really made me look at things differently. This place should really receive zero stars, however that wasn’t an option. Extremely unprofessional and careless with the thoughts and feelings of the client/ patient. It seems the money is their primary concern. I definitely would not recommend this to anyone who is truly seeking professional help.

I have had nothing but an amazing experience with Tides of Mind. From the very beginning, contacting the intake specialist was such a pleasing experience. The first phone call is always the hardest part. Explaining what is wrong, what you are looking for, asking for help. It’s very difficult. But Stacey was above and beyond! I have a few family members seeing different therapists, at different offices and they were “paired” so perfectly with the right person. My daughter had previously worked with someone from a different agency for quite some time, with not much progress. Stacey took the time to ask what I felt she needed (someone to help open her up, get her to talk, someone a little bit silly like her, etc) and she found her the most amazing match! (Rachael) She has had so much progress in such a short time. I am truly blown away. This is an agency that does not give off that “doctor’s office” or “clinic” feel. It feels like you’re gossiping with your girlfriend on the couch. It’s very contemporary and such a new age feel. It really makes you comfortable and just able to be you. No judgement. No worries.

Tides of Mind helped me find my way when I was at a very lost point in my life. I called and quickly got set up with a counselor who was a good match. I felt awkward about therapy but they made it really comfortable. I cant imagine where I would be without their help. I owe this place so much.

I wouldn’t bring a hamster for therapy here.they are so biased and it seems to me as if they are sanctioned by the lawyers who’s client Are told what to do. Don’t bring your kids there .They just want the money.

I called talked to the intake person which said that the therapist would call me shortly and about an hour later I got call very very professional Nd caring person on the other end Nd I received a appointment for the following week I’m super happy the first part is usually the hardest this was so easy

I needed to obtain services for a young family member and was told about Tides of Mind Counseling as a place that may help. I called on a Thursday and left a message. In the message I briefly described my dilemma and the problems and I was having with a family member. I waited, for return call which never happened. I placed A second call and finally received a call back. The person that I spoke with at first offered me an appointment for that day. However, I was at work and unable to leave abruptly and make the appointment. However, the person that spoke with told me that she would reach out to a couple of clinicians that she felt could help me. That never happened!!! I never received a call back and again placed another call. Still I receive no call back. By this time Im extremely upset not to mention anxious with trying to get help four my family members. I placed my last and final message to the voice machine stating my disappointment in an agency they present themselves as a mental health agency willing to help those in need. Well to my surprise, I received a call back and this time the person apologize for the delay in getting back in touch with me. I was asked if I wanted in-home counseling because that would be the quickest way of obtaining services. I agreed and was told that someone would call me back before the end of the day it is now the next-day. My definition of an agency that offers counseling and therapy to individuals seeking help to be one of compassion, reliability, trustworthy, and someone who understands and makes every effort to help those in need. For an individual to have to make multiple phone calls and to be told A number of false truths makes one wonder whether this is the route to go. I feel that If I have to try this hard to get services this is probably not the best agency for help. I think I will go elsewhere!!!I know theres an agency out there that is true to their word, tides of mine counseling is not one of them by my opinion.Today, I have decided to update my review of Tides of Mind Counseling.After my initial review, I received a call from the owner who apologized for the delay in my obtaining service and being contacted. I was very surprised by the call but very pleased. She informed me that this was not of the norm and that she had put measures in place to ensure that it never happens again. She even went the extra mile of giving me alternatives contacts in the mental health field (other than those within her agency), that I could contact for services.However, I decided to stay with Tides of Mind Counseling after reaching out to the others. The therapist that my family member sees is Samantha. What can I say about her other than amazing. In a very short period of time with my family member meeting with her I have seen a change for the better. She’s compassionate, knowledgeable, and very in tuned to the dynamics facing young children. My family member was dealing with separation anxiety which was a large part of the reason I sought help for her. She was also having behavioral outbursts and seemed unable to control her emotions. Her behaviors had begun to affect her way of life and not in a positive way. However, seeing Samantha weekly has made all the difference.I would also like to say that I received follow up calls from the owner, just to see how things were going.I highly recommend this agency for all your mental health needs!!!!!!

Both Tides of Mind Counseling, located in Waterbury and Torrington, show standards beyond any other counseling service I have come into contact with. Walking through the doors, you immediately feel a sense of calmness and empathy, which is very rare for mental health facilities. In no way does it feel sterile and uninviting like most other practices. The therapists that I have had the pleasure of meeting are beyond sweet and truly listen and respond. Tides of Mind is different, in a good way. They are like no other. They have professional staff and amazing therapists and doctors, which is a huge plus. Anyone who chooses Tides of Mind Counseling for their healthcare services, you will not be dissapointed.

I wouldnt even give one star! The woman that answers calls is very rude and invasive. She broke the law and discussed personal information about me with my former therapist. My former therapist Sandra also did the same and is super judgemental. No one seems to understand that theyre working with people who have mental illnesses. I was hung up on multiple times when trying to contact the owner. They freaked when I mentioned my lawyer! Do not trust this place, they will lie to you and break laws behind your back!!!
