I was SO scared to leave my most precious memories captured on the one VHS film with anyone. The ones I found online said I had to mail them in. No way! I am always amazed that he has all the equipment for converting old film reels, audio reels, VHS, mini DV tapes, DVDs, records, cassettes, CDs, photo stills and Im sure a lot more. I have brought in many things to him over the last few years and he has never disappointed me. I always had doubts due to the quality of the items I was bringing in, due to age, dust, mold, whatever it may have been, but Ira has always found a way to make the quality amazing. Ira did a fantastic job of transferring all sorts of video for me. From very old tapes/reels from the 1960’s, to VHS tapes, to assorted Handycam discs - I had a LOT of material, and it was overwhelming to me. He copied all of my labels that were on my items, and put them on the new discs so I could easily know what was where. He did everything in an organized, professional way and now I’m relieved that all of those random tapes and films are together on discs, easy to retrieve and find. A great find. Had a vhs tape of several activities with my son from over 30 years ago. Unfortunately the tape had mold all over it and couldn’t be transferred for digital viewing. To my good fortune I found Video Data Services after a google search. How lucky was I? They were able to get rid of the mold and transfer the contents to a flash drive PLUS they did it in less than 24 hours. Ira was able to transfer them without losing any of the details; I was impressed and very pleased indeed!I returned again with more super 8’s, plus an old 8mm film, shot in 1939, one that I had never been able to even view before. I called Ira to convert a VHS from the early 90s as a Christmas present for me. Although he was inundated with work, he took my project nonetheless. My VHS was of a childhood movie somewhere in the middle of the tape, surrounded by whatever else was originally taped on there. The tape was showing signs of deterioration and we were scared to play it--yes, we still have access to a VHS player. Ira took his time to not only make me a master copy of everything on the tape, but also another copy of just the movie. He went above and beyond to make my last minute present a reality. I have to say it is truly rare these days to be noticeably impressed with a service as I was from Video Data Services. I had a small but odd conversion to be made and they took the time to hear my concerns, make reasoned well explained suggestions, and due to a bit of luck they were able to complete my project within 2 hours instead of the 3-4 days it was thought it would originally take. Thank you Ira.Back in the 1970’s, I was very much into home movies. So much so, that I didn’t even own a still camera. All I had was a good super 8 camera and a fantastic Bolex projector. That movie camera never did see the inside of it’s case; it sat on a counter ready to catch all of the activities of my young son as he grew up.About 10+ years ago, I became concerned about preserving these old films, so I sent a couple of reels out to one of those companies that transfers the film (at that time) to tape recordings. When I received them back, I was so disappointed. The colors and quality were so bad that I have never viewed them since. I even threw out my tape player years ago.Today I am in my eighties and yes it is important for me to preserve these films for my family. But much more important to me is being able to view these films again. These movies are the story of my life, and I want to re-live that period, ... over and over again.Last week I found Ira. He came very highly recommended with good reason. He is a true professional! I entrusted him with a few rolls of film and heard back from him the very next day. My films are now on a master cd and a working copy cd. The master cd is safely stored away and I am watching my working cd over and over. Colors and clarity are just like the originals. The only thing missing is the click, click, click of the original film going through the projector. And that is just fine. 😊Thank you Ira.

I had several 1/2 inch reel to reel tapes from the 70s-80s that had some school projects and childhood silliness of myself and my siblings. Back in December 22nd 2020, I came to the owner, “Ira” and wanted to get my tape with my parents’s wedding anniversary converted to DVD so I can surprise them for Christmas. I come to find out that he had a lot of stuff he was doing and was staying up for a very long time in his effort to push stuff out and get everybody taken care of. I was told that after the 23rd he would be taking off until January 2nd-ish so after leaving the business, I didn’t think I was going to have it the day after due to the fact he was pretty backed up, but it looks like Ira proved me wrong. The next day, I get the call at my job around 10:30 A.M. telling me that my DVD was ready, and with that I was very surprised. Overall, Ira is a very friendly person, a professional, and very dedicated to his job. I highly recommend that anybody that has a situation similar to mine that you go to Video Data Services and have Ira take care of you, you won’t be disappointed

I brought Ira over 2000 35 mm slides that my father had taken of our family gatherings, vacations and every day happenings. Some of the slides had faded and had dirt spots on them. Ira did an amazing job scanning all of the slides to digital images and restoring them to their original condition. All of this was done in 1 week. I was able togive flash drives with all of the slides to my brother and sisters. I was very happy to find a local slide scanning service to preserve these special memories as I did not want to take a chance in them getting lost by sending them somewhere.Will definitely use VDS again!
