Awesome place to train! I’ve been there a year now and love my instructors and training partners. Ethos has a warm, supportive culture. Definitely full of talented savages but everyone is gracious, helpful and nonjudgmental. We all come here from different paths. Great place for women to train and a great place for competitors who want a tight team behind them.

The experience that I have had with this gym far exceeds any other. The instructors are genuinely interested in seeing their students succeed and get better. The atmosphere is that of hanging out with good friends. As a woman, I am never uncomfortable training at Ethos. I feel valued and respected. If you want to train with the best in East Texas I would suggest checking Ethos out first. You will not be disappointed.

Ethos is a great place for you and your kids to learn jiu-jitsu and how to subordinate your ego. Chad and John are consummate professionals; I wouldn’t want to train under anyone else in town. If this place lacks anything, it’s pretentiousness.

Chad is awesome! My kids are coming up on a year at Ethos and I’ve seen their self esteem and confidence grow tremendously. Chad is diligent and works hard to see the kids grow to their potential. The gym is very clean, and classes are well organized. It’s an encouraging environment too. Just overall, great experience.

Knowledgeable and Patient Instructors. Very clean facility. Family friendly with child and teen classes. All gender classes. Academic advancement with seminars. Physical experience advancement with disciplined events. Great community within the students learning there. As a woman I never once felt threatened by anyone. As an out of shape person I never felt in over my head with the warm ups or training drills. Great deals on pricing for class and equipment bundles. Also have equipment available to use. I would strongly recommend anyone on the fence about trying Martial Arts to just show up and take a look. Best decision I ever made to improve my physical and mental health. Great place to be and feels like a second home.

This gym definitely lives up to its name. No greater place to go for martial arts training, self-defense, or just plain self-betterment. Amazing instructors and environment, and all ages welcome! On the mats, surrounded by outstanding people while you learn is the place to be, no matter your skill level or schedule, and thats what you get at Ethos. Without a doubt the best gym in the area!

I moved from DFW to tyler and all i can say is that Coach Gerald is a phenomenal coach. He added so many new weapons to my arsenal. The way he teaches makes it simple for even the most difficult learner (like myself) to understand. What you put in this gym is what you will get out. There are no short cuts. Mr. Chad the owner is so down to earth and always willing to help. The students are humble, friendly. I literally checked out every single gym in the tyler area before i signed up and ethos was by far the best one. I study muay thai and so grateful for Coach Geralds striking program. You cant beat the price and the lessons that are taught that apply in every aspect of life. If you want quality training with coaches that dont sugar coat anything this is your place. Give them your all and they will do the same. 💪🏼🙏🏼

I had the opportunity to train at Ethos JJ & Martial Arts while visiting my folks in Tyler. From the get go, the gym owners were super responsive and helpful in figuring out what days would be best for me to come in (Chad the owner even gave me his phone number). The training itself was great. Instruction was solid and I thoroughly enjoyed rolling with the crew from Ethos - no egos at all. All in all, would definitely come back to roll and train with the Ethos crew when Im back in the area!

Ethos is a great place to learn martial arts. I have had an interest in learning Jiu-Jitsu for many years after watching UFC and MMA fights, and finally decided to take the plunge about a year ago. I was always waiting to get in shape first, too busy to start, too this, too that. Now Im wondering what took me so long, and the kind folks at Ethos played no small part in the overall joy this experience has been for me. You can learn all aspects of fighting and self-defense, as they have very knowledgeable and experienced instructors in Jiu-Jitsu, Judo, Kickboxing, and MMA. It is a very organic environment and you can take whatever classes you want. Open mats are also fun, and there are a variety of people and backgrounds, which makes for a great training environment. So if youre waiting, go for it. Life is too short to sit idly by. I hope to see ya on the mats!

Ethos is an awesome gym. I have been training Jiu-Jitsu in Tyler for about 2.5 years at another gym and I decided to give it a try to switch things up. Everyone was extremely welcoming and made me feel at home from the first day. This gym has people of all skill sets and martial arts backgrounds which makes training here so valuable. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable and are always willing to work with you to help you improve your game. Even better, the membership allows you to train BJJ, Judo, MMA, and kickboxing so you can really find what you enjoy training. Ive started training Judo on the side as well. As someone with a Take Kwon Do, wrestling, and BJJ background , I cant recommend Ethos enough. If you or someone you know has had any interest in trying out Jiu-Jitsu, I recommend stopping by and trying it out.

Started looking for a Jiu Jitsu school to put my 12 year old son in a little over a year ago. Stopped by a couple before finding Ethos. The friendly atmosphere and training in multiple disciplines at Ethos made my choice easier, but it was when I saw the coaches and kids pray together after class that my decision was solidified. My son struggled with bullying and doing well in sports. He was feeling like he wasnt cut out for competitive athletics or sports in general. Once he started training at Ethos, there was an immediate shift in his attitude and confidence. He discovered he was really good at BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu). Since he started he has now competed in multiple local tournaments and 3 major tournaments placing in all and winning most of them. Pictured below is him at his most recent tournament (NAGA Austin) where he won triple gold! The training he has received at Ethos has literally been life changing for him. Myself as well, as at 36 years of age, I am in there training alongside him. Its been an invaluable experience for us! Come join us on the mats!

BEST IN TOWN!! This place is great! Not only do you get Jiu-jitsu, but you also get to train MMA, Kickboxing, Judo, and Wrestling, The instructors are VERY knowledgeable, and the technique is amazing. Ive trained at another place here in town, and its nowhere as near as good at this place. Management is very friendly and helpful. They even offer a one week free trial! This place is by far, the best place in Tyler for Jiu-jitsu. Ethos is affiliated with Caique, and Caique was the ORIGINAL instructor at the Gracie Academy in California. The instructor at Ethos, Chad, isnt just a great instructor, but a great man as well, both on and off of the mats. Chad truly cares about everyone at Ethos, and treats them as people, not dollar signs.
