$100 for a missed appointment is absurd; this is one of the problems with mental healthcare in this country. Life happens, and that fee is way too steep especially for non-doctors. If you really wanted to help people, you wouldnt impose such a crazy policy! especially during a pandemic....

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE!!!! If I could give a zero rating, I would. I have a family member who is (was) a patient there with another provider. That provider left the practice and my family member began seeing another provider. The new provider was cold and lacked the ability to empathize with and make a connection with her patient. I requested a note from them a few months ago to submit for a business situation to another company for my family member. The note looked like a first grader typed it. It had no date, no company name, misspelled words and very poor format. I had to give them specific corrections twice for the letter to be acceptable and not look like it came from a daycare.A few months later, my family member missed an appt because I had to have emergency surgery around the same time and they were too overwhelmed and possibly forgot to call the office to reschedule the appt. The office automatically charged them a $100 missed appt fee, which is ridiculous to start with and then would not allow them to see their provider during a crisis following my surgery. Multiple messages were left for the Finance Manager, Kelsey, both on her personal voicemail and with the receptionists, who told us that they sent her multiple messages from us, to see if the charge could be waived, . I personally continued to call Kelsey for several more weeks, leaving messages on her voicemail explaining the severity of the situation and asking for a return call. SHE NEVER RESPONDED TO ANY OF OUR MESSAGES, EVER! I called the office again today and asked for her. She finally got on the phone and told me she never received any of our messages and that they were never left on her voicemail. SHE IS A DAMN LIAR!!!! I heard her name on her outgoing message and I believe the receptionist when they told her that they sent her multiple messages. Kelsey had the nerve to be RUDE as Hell and very unprofessional. She talked over me and told me she would launch an investigation to see if my family member received a reminder call. I told her that it didnt matter if the patient did or not, emergencies still happen and again I asked her if she would waive the fee. She kept saying the same thing over and over, I will launch an investigation.I became furious with her and told her that I did not want to speak with her anymore and asked to be transferred to the office manger. She flat out told me that she would NOT transfer me to anyone and that anything pertaining to patient finance had to go through her and then she hung up the phone on me. OMG!!!! SHE NEEDS TO BE FIRED, IMMEDIATELY! She is a NASTY heifer and I will NEVER allow my family member or anyone that I know to ever go back to that practice.

They have a 100 dollar no exception charge for a missed appointment. I was in the middle of finals and work up late for an appointment that was automatically scheduled. Now I have no clue when I will be able to continue treatment as if have no way of paying that anytime soon. Hopefully I don’t end up back in the er.

I LOVE THESE THERAPISTS!!! Marci is amazing and MORE than competent at her job, and Maria is just a queen. Both of them deserve more recognition. I cant speak for any of the other staff, since I dont see them. I appreciate being able to communicate with my therapist outside of session. Plus, they have an ADORABLE dog that comes to hang out who I am OBSESSED with. I left Resource Group several years ago and my family and I were reluctant to go back due to some questionable providers. We were left with no options for therapists so we reluctantly went back, it was the best decision for my mental health weve ever made. Ive never had a therapist that has been so caring, understanding, and able to push me. Its always nice and quiet at the office, and theres a really big parking lot and picnic table out back to walk around during session if you wish. All the staff Ive interacted with have been so accepting and kind to me.A while ago, i wouldnt have recommended them. But I can say that theyve REALLY turned around. The DBT group offered has helped me to stabilize SO much. I look forward to my therapy sessions every week.I highly recommend them, especially Maria and Marci (Marci is on maternity leave until sometime in March.)

Dr. Martin is very nice but unfortunately has messed up my prescription multiple times, this latest time it took me over a week to get in touch with her (not even directly, but through the front desk) about her not filling my Wellbutrin prescription like she said she would after our appointment. I ended up running out before being able to get more and am typing this through a migraine after stopping the Wellbutrin so suddenly. She has also messed up paper prescriptions more than once for me, and for adderall no less, so the pharmacy will not take them unless everything on the prescription is correct. As someone with adhd it is already challenging enough to navigate the doctor, it is incredibly difficult to have to stay even more on top of everything because I can’t guarantee everything will come out right. Like I said she is very nice, and would be a good fit if you don’t need a medication quickly or if you don’t have to worry about running out of a med.

There arent words to describe how appreciative and thankful I am of Dr. Lisa Swords. She is caring and professional. She is kind, honest, and willing to listen and ask questions when necessary. She builds a real relationship with you, so that she may better serve you. She is incredibly genuine and understanding. She explains any and all information about the medications she prescribes. She always returns phone calls for medication issues. Anyone in her care is in the best of hands. I would highly recommend her to anyone seeking real help.

This Companys operative process and policies are extremely flawed and completely contradictory to one another. They want to support you in every possible way but fail to do so in many ways. It is standard practice in dual diagnosis patients to provide evaluation of current medications at the beginning of treatment. They are neglectful in providing this standard of care. Patients shouldnt have to wait SEVERAL weeks after there clinical appointment to see the doctor. The current reviews speak for themselves and I wish I had listened to them.

I went here for a DBT class and it was horrible. So horrible in fact my therapist wrote me a note saying that it was detrimental to me and i shouldn’t go anymore. These people tried to get me to pay for like 10 classes I didn’t attend bc I hated it so much and was making things worse for me. They don’t actually teach you use DBT skills and are so so patronizing. These people only care about money and will treat you like a child. Also am pretty sure that they are not teaching and using DBT correctly. Just don’t go to this place. These people do not care about your mental health.

This company is one of the worst that I have ever dealt with. They couldnt care less about anyones mental health! They charge $100, if you are FIVE MINUTES LATE for an appointment. With the way things are right now, with online learning and working schedules, they should at least give you the 15 minutes of appointment that you are paying for, before charging a ridiculous amount for a missed appointment. My mental health is now worse, because of them.

We missed an appointment, there was a missed appointment fee. Fine, it was our fault. Our next appointment. We called in advance. They person who answered said she did not see our appointment. I said, I know I made the appointment and I think the time was changed. We need to cancel. She said she’d send the therapist an email. The day of the appointment, the therapist calls. I explain I called, but she said i didn’t call early enough. Granted, I called the NIGHT before, but there’s no way to leave a message. She basically gave me an ultimatum - if you reschedule, I won’t charge you the no show fee this second time. No thank you. Keep that no show fee, you won’t get any of my future earnings. We will go elsewhere.

Out of 5 total appointments with the resource group we have missed one and charged $95. Thats a fair charge for missing appointments however twice the appointment was either overlooked by the doctor and we were forgotten or we arrived on site and found out after arriving that our appointment was canceled with no remedy. The appointment we missed was the reschedule to the appointment cancelled by the Resource Group. In our frustration, we forgot to add it to our calendar. Its not worth the frustration considering your going for mental health.

Dr. Cook is warm, friendly, engaging and very professional. The hour I spend with her is validating, cathartic and therapeutic. I missed a few appointments here and was discharged.... I was told I could come back after 90 days.... I actually waited like 8 months (maybe more) and tried to schedule another appointment.... I was told I couldnt.... Not sure why... I waited WELL BEYOND the 90 days.... Everyone here needs to get on the same page as to the policies!! Because of their apparent misinformation, now its probably going to be another few months before I can get an appointment with another doctor!!! I could have been looking for another doctor this whole time.... Not really good for a mental health facility to be misinforming clients!!

If youre someone prone to absentmindedness, dont book an appointment with this practice. The penalty is 160 and they are completely despotic about this fine and will offer no sympathy. I called and asked for leniency because the fine had left my checking account without enough money to pay for a new appointment, much less to fill my prescriptions. As a result of this apathy and heartless up holding of their guidelines I will have to wait for a week until I can purchase my prescription. This goes completely against the hippocratic oath that administrators should be just as expected to uphold as the doctors employed by the practice.

Ive been going to this firm for about 6 years now and my psychiatrist, Lisa Swords, that Ive had since the beginning has been incredibly on point with my medication. However, I was recommended a therapist and called/texted her and even had an appointment and she replied to my text 7 months later, lol. She was on maternity leave though, so Im beyond understanding about it, the employees just made a mistake to recommend her. I also tried to schedule a new appointment via phone call with another therapist a couple months ago with the head of scheduling or whatever her position was. We talked on the phone, I explained my personality and what I had issues with and she told me shed call me back in a couple days to a week-- she never did. I left a voicemail asking about it and was polite, asking if I should just try to find a therapist somewhere else (I preferred to just stick with Resource Group, but she never responded so I genuinely needed to ask if I should just try somewhere else and understood if no one could take me in/knew how to deal with me). She never responded, again.Ive had therapists here in the past in the beginning of coming here. I cant really say much about the quality of the therapists they have now because mine have all left but one time my therapist confused me with another patient even though I had her for a few months and the group therapy was just us talking to each other and the therapist listening and making stereotypical comments as if she was just there to watch over the 13 year olds. Dont get me wrong though, they were great people and I enjoyed their company. I have heard from my friend though that a therapist working here was exceptional because she used her before.Even though Im loyal to this place, 3 stars is an honest answer.

Left message and no one called back. I called back again, and reached the receptionist, who was rude and sounded like she hated her job. Before the end of our conversation, Id made up my mind that this isnt the type of place I want to entrust with my childs therapy needs. If the communication is that poor with prospective clients, I can only imagine they treat their clients. First impressions are everything to your business. And they left me with a bad one.

While we had some good experiences with Resource Group, namely DBT group, overall we were not pleased. Lisa Swords is unethical and condescending. She doesn’t listen to patients and merely heaps on more medications at each visit. She was the worst prescriber we have EVER seen in our lives. She is completely unprofessional and needs to have her license removed. She violates privacy rules and is a bully. Literally, go anywhere else for medication management. There was a lovely woman there for a very short time, but she was driven off by Lisa. We are much happier elsewhere. Lisa should not be in the mental health field at all.

I have been going to The Resource Group for 3 years now. I keep reading these reviews on Lisa Swords and have to put in my two cents...Lisa Swords helps our family. She straightened out all my medications (that other professionals have failed to do my whole life) & truly cares how not just me (her patient) but also my wife is handling my mental illness. To give an example: Swords has been increasing one of my meds for a while and I was having an issue with the med but didnt have an appointment for another 3 weeks. Swords worked with Barbara at the front desk and they both went out of their way to help resolve the issue- resulting in Swords coming in to the office early the next day (at 7:30am) just to see me. I came in with my wife and she thoughtfully listened to the issue I was having, discussed my options, addressed my concerns, and helped me by finding the right medication adjustment. She is bluntly honest and definitely has strong positions on treatment plans but only in the sense that she is very protective of her patients well-being. Anyway...you might have gotten more than just two cents but...I would definitely recommend Lisa Swords.

I went in for medicine management and was instead treated like an addict. I have ADD and was successfully treated by adderall for a decade, but Lisa Swords declined to treat me for that. At my intake she said I looked depressed and put me on Wellbutrin. At my second appointment when I told her it wasnt helping my ADD she said because of my addiction history she wasnt comfortable prescribing it. I reminded her I have no addiction history, and she said I still dont feel comfortable with it.Fine. Except she then decided to tell me she thinks I have symptoms of depression due to things I said I have on intake. When she listed them they were all things I had clearly said I dont have, like crying spells. I only cry at sad movies. She marked that as a yes.She is incompetent and held things against me for treatment that she marked incorrectly. She works at an addiction treatment center, and presumes everyone is an addict. So dont go to her unless you are an addict because she has no idea how to treat non-addicts.

Not a fan at all. Saw dr. Vitali for a little while. My appointments were supposed to be thirty minutes. He would make me wait twenty five minutes in the lobby, see me for three minutes and then shove me out the door. His appointments were very impersonal. Very rarely did he make eye contact or was actively listening to me. The only reason Sheppard Pratt paired me with him is because I am a gay woman and he has lgbt support items all around his office. The secretaries are wishy washy and every time I went there they’d try to tell me I have a co pay or my insurance was inactive so I eventually stopped going. They weren’t doing me any favors.

Lisa Swords should have her license revoked. She has no business seeing patients. If you are in need of services go elsewhere. Seriously, this was the worst experience I have ever been to. From the late start to our appointment (30 minutes late even though we were literally the only ones in the waiting room), to the fact that there was a student in with her (we were not asked if this was okay, simply told that this was what was happening), to her cold and dismissive tone, to her overreacting and causing a crisis. Stay as far away as you can. I am reporting them to my insurance company.

Can I give no stars? We had two atrociously bad experiences with this organization: one with a counselor, who made both me and my teenage daughter terribly uneasy, and one with a nurse practitioner named Lisa Swords, against whom we will be filing a professional complaint with the Board of Nursing. Do not trust anyone you love with the staff at this center. Disappointing and actually harmful. Read the Yelp reviews, and see for yourself that many reviewers have taken the extraordinary step of naming the nurse practitioner in their reviews. What does that tell you? One would think that people would enter into the mental health profession driven by empathy and a desire to help people. Not so at The Resource Group. Go somewhere else!

The front desk staff remains very professional and curtious throughly the day. The nurse practitioner, Lisa is knowledgeable in the right course of medication management to minimize side effects and maximize benefits. The DBT class has changed my life. Learning new skills and behaviors to help cope with my mental illness has allowed me to become the person I was really meant to be. In addition to the DBT classes, the Resourse Group offers one on one skills training to practice and review the skills being taught in class to ensure you have a good grasp of not only the content but the actual skills to perform. Lastly, my therapist, Vickie is calm and understanding. She provides the foresight and knowledge to help understand what choices to make or avoid, as well as listen without judgement to the issues you are experiencing.
