I would rate these guys higher than 5 stars if I could. I had given up all hope when it came to a decent mechanic shop that knew what they were doing, until I came into this shop. This shop was so amazing at everything they did for me to fix my car and to get me back on the road as soon as possible. I will be recommending everyone I know to go here. I live an hour and a half and I will make that drive every single time just to come to this shop.

Davids has really been a breath of fresh air for me. So when my engine unexpectedly died on the highway and AAA brought me here, I didnt know what to expect. Ive been going to Davids ever since. I had a reliable mechanic before at a big-name garage shop, but they also charged astronomical prices. Davids has reasonable prices. Im sure theyre still making a living off of it (as they should) but it doesnt feel like Im being taken for all Ive got. I mean, heck, they even replaced my whole engine for just 3k$. Ive gotten inspections and any other little issues taken care of there as well. They even offer to pick you up and drop you off if you dont have a ride when leaving your car with them. Couldnt ask for better service.

I will share with you what I know so far. I just bought a vehicle and found out the heater is not working and going North very soon and not much time at all for this. The gentlemen behind the counter was awesome and they took the truck and getting in to have a look. Sounded like he would get right on it because of my travel plans. First time there and I got good vibes so far !!

Tim my car in for what I feared, and had been told by other mechanics, was a $3000 transmission issue. Daves called to tell me the issue was really rats had eating through some wires. $390 later and my car runs Great!!! Awesome, honest service!!!

I took one of my cars I wanted to get looked over and had a few repairs/maintenance items to be done. They were very prompt and communicated with me as they completed each service item and made sure I was made aware of any added costs or future maintenance items to keep in mind. Pricing is very competitive and its close to home. I would definitely take my other vehicles .

Great service! Im new to the state and this is the second shop ivve been to (the first shop over charged). They stayed in communication with me about what was wrong and my car was ready to go by day 2. They even gave me a first time customer discount. Mike at the front was who I spoke to. Also, they offered me a ride home after I dropped it off which was free!

First time to use these guys, Took the old Toyota beater up to them. They were straight forward, honest and respectful, didnt try to push anything that the car didnt need. I had a wonderful experience with David’s Automotive Repair!! I went to Driver’s Edge beforehand and they tried conning me into paying an absurd price for something that wasn’t even the problem. Andrew was super kind in getting me in before my road trip and Greg was amazing with helping me fully understand what he was doing in order to find out if what he thought was wrong with my Jeep was accurate or not. Took my 2012 Honda Pilot to fix the alternator and breaks. As always they were very professional gave me a fair quote and completed the work the same day. My car is running great! I needed to have my truck inspected to get it registered, and needed an air pressure monitor replaced on a rear wheel. There were 6 or 7 inspections ahead of me, so they brought me home. I thought my truck would be ready the following day, but received a call about 6PM, and was informed the work was complete.David’s Auto did good work and I appreciate all of the effort they put forward.

I called for an estimate because of all the great reviews regarding service and price and was very disappointed. I retrieved 4 estimates from different shops, the amounts quoted for the SAME job from 4 places were as follows; $250, $280, $370 and $780. Davids was $780. I own a small business and understand mark ups and margins but this difference is disgusting. This is flat out ripping people off and there is no excuse for it. David - the people of The Colony work hard for their money and deserve MUCH better than this.

I had a great experience at Davids. The replaced my brakes and fixed a leak in my Air conditioning in a matter of hours. They were kind enough to drive me home and pick me up so I didnt have to wait at the shop. Their price was very fair and I strongly recommend them. What a breathe of fresh air this place is!!!Okay so I’ve been working on my own cars for 20 years now. My main reason for that was never finding a shop you can trust without getting ripped off or feeling it was more of a sales pitch then a mechanic shop. I recently replaced my power steering pump in my car and wanted to flush the fluid and bleed the system of air. I couldn’t seem to quiet down the pump (famous PS pump whine) so after reading MANY reviews about David’s automotive, I decided to give them a shot.Turns out, the NEW pump I purchased was bad! Andrew called and let me know they couldn’t purge the system because of the faulty pump. Let me know how much it would be if they replaced it (really fair price considering my pump is a pain to get out). So I picked up my car, no charge (not even a “service fee”) at all, swapped out my pump myself for another new pump and dropped it back off. The following day I got a text saying the car was ready! (Andrew did call in the morning to verify the price with me again and get the green light to do the flush). I now have the smoothest steering 21 year old Ford Taurus in the world haha.If you are looking for a shop that is HONEST and doesn’t give you the run around, this is the shop to go to. I never let shops know I work on my own cars until I talk with them to get their real “vibe” aka - are they crooks or honest? David’s Automotive is the REAL DEAL, and is an above industry standard shop that ALL shops should be modeled after. If you are worried because you don’t know anything about cars but need work done. Overpriced try to fix unnecessary parts. We saved over a 1200.00 on the exact same work that would have been done by Davids..Terrible also they took off parts and didnt replace them. Had to go back and get our parts. They claimed they didnt take them off. Horrible shop.. Now the owner did call me back. He was very nice and professional. In my 40+ years of car ownership I have used dozens upon dozens of auto repair shops and I can assure you there is no other shop in the metro area as honest as Davids Automotive Repair. I have used them 3x on my luxury import sedan and not only have I been impressed with their capabilities but their honesty and integrity is beyond reproach! Though they have a modern check in system, they are old school when it comes to honesty and customer service! I havent experienced that in decades!

My initial impression and work with these men is that they operate with integrity. Ive had the most interaction with Greg and hes wonderful! Hes very patient and took time to explain the automotive work I needed. Very nice group of men who are eager to serve the customer, and I will refer friends and family to them.

I brought my truck in for some much needed repairs. They were very detailed and polite and gave me many options of how to do these. I really liked how honest and open they were and the quality of repair was fast and top notch. I needed a LOT of repair work on my 1995 Ranger and Andrew Switzer did an outstanding job of verifying and explaining exactly what needed to be taken care of, when it could be completed by and how much it would cost. He even followed up a week later to make sure everything on my truck was to my satisfaction, now that is customer service!After driving my truck for two weeks I am glad to report that it still drives like its brand new and very happy with the result.I was very satifisfied with the quality, speed and communication I received at Davids Automotive Repair and will recommend them to anyone that needs work done on their vehicle.

I went by Davids after a couple friends recommended them. I was having overheating issues. I asked about having my cooling system flushed. I was told that was 149, but why not bring it and have it diagnosed, they dont charge for that in most cases. Great, had my truck towed in to get diagnosed. Next morning, they call telling me they need to replace the thermostat for $273 before it can be diagnosed. More than Chevy would charge btw. I expressed I feel misled, he smarmily asked do you want a diagnosis? Of course I do, thats why I had it towed in. He then said it would be $373 to diagnose it. From we dont charge for that to 373 in no time. Dishonest, misleading and very condescending. Im sure this will be rationalized and justified in a response, likely even denied, but im happy to forward my call recordings to any potential customers who want to hear for themselves. Go to the dealership, theyll be cheaper and likely more forthcoming. Additionally, read the reviews, its amazing how on 90% of negative reviews they have no record of the reviewers name in their system.Edit after response... I spoke to you in person at the shop several days before towing my vehicle to you. I was told today that no diagnosis had been done bc the thermostat needed to be replaced before anything else was done. Bait and switch in these times is especially shady. No one expected you ti work free. I expected a diagnosis on the system and would likely have allowed the repairs to be made if it werent handled dishonestly. I didnt tell myself you would do certain things, 275 to install a 40 dollar part that takes an amateur mechanic 30 minutes to install basically means $230 labor for 30 minutes. You didnt call Chevy either, a thermostat installed by 2 of 3 Chevy dealers I called were under $140. I was told on the phone before our was ever looked at that theyd probably want to replace the thermostat Id replaced 3 times. What diagnosis? Your shop texted me that were recommending a thermostat TO START, This is NOT the diagnosis. My day would maybe be blessed had you done what you said youd do worthit the circle talking.

Customer service skills are lacking. They tried selling my soon to be wife a replacement part, she did not need, pressuring her into buying unaware of her long sustaining knowledge of auto mechanic. She simply lacked the tools and time needed. The price was decent, but you get what you pay for. They need a serious attitude adjustment. Ive spoken to many others around town and we agree that the owner lakes the value of customer service.

I have been using this shop since David was one of the mechanics under Briggs. My family used it before I could drive and now I continue to come back. 20+years going here and they have really impressed me this time. They gave me a steal on replacing my clutch and then after the repair I heard a noise. They were happy to take it back and do some extensive diagnostics to find the issue. The biggest impression was that of David and Greg. They kept me in the loop and were open and honest the entire time. Tight financial situation, with a major steering repair needing to be done on my truck. These guys knocked $500 off Firestones price, and gave me a better warranty. I came in with high expectations, but I was completely blown out of the water.The interior doesnt feel like a hospital, and it doesnt feel like a rats nest. Its comfortable, and helped relieve a lot of my stress. Waiting room is inviting, interior is well furnished, decorated, and equipped. Staff is capable, honest, and very fast. Even on a friday evening, the place wasnt busy at all. Not only did they do that, but they also fixed other issues and checked with my warranty company for me to see that it was covered. Ive been using Davids for about 3 years now, and I have YET to come across a single negative factor to possibly point out. Im 29 and this place is THE BEST place I have ever one to. As it stands, Ive spent thousands with them and they have treated me great every single time. Every repair sticks, and they have literally fixed the issues that my PAST 3 MECHANICS left behind. I recently moved to the north Dallas area and when my car broke down in Irving I didnt know where to go to get it fixed. A friend said that he had been taking his car to Davids Automotive for years so I opted to have my car towed here. The workers were all very nice and helpful. They kept me informed while I tried to figure out my work and ride situation and were willing to hold onto my car over night before I could come pick it up, no charge! That being said, I gave them the lowest rating because of an unfortunate series of events. When I came to talk with the mechanic after they had completed their diagnostic testing, he tried to over charge me for the price of the tow. I contacted the tow company and discovered that they had charged the mechanic several hundred dollars less than what he was indicating. When I brought this information to the mechanic he was astounded and stated he would need to figure out what was going on with the tow company. Needless to say, I found this a little sketchy. He didn’t charge me the original overage amount but I still didn’t feel comfortable leaving the car there. It took a day of repeated calls and trips to both offices for me to final get the information I needed. This behavior is very unprofessional and untrustworthy in my book. They all seemed like nice guys but I will not be taking my car back to David’s Automotive.

David’s customer service is excellent. We needed to get my husband’s truck inspected and the weather was cold with constant raining and storms. David’s gave us an estimated time to conduct the inspection of approximately an hour. Being as the inspection was going to take an estimated hour, David’s also gave us a ride back to our house to wait and then came and picked us back up to return to David’s in order to pay for the inspection and return home with the truck. Additionally, the inspection was done well under the hour estimated time. Bar none best ever customer service!

Best experience I’ve had at an auto shop. I have been ripped off pretty badly by some other l privately owned shops in the north Dallas area but David’s was outstanding. Brought in my daily driver, an old Honda that needed a new clutch. It’s an older car that I use to drive to work and I’m sure they could have found 100 things to try and talk me into replacing, but they did just what I asked, replaced the clutch. Not only were they extremely easy to work with but they were also fast. Greg had the parts ordered immediately and it was finished by the technician within a day. These guys are first responder friendly, and did an outstanding job! Will definitely use them again.

I have been going to Davids Automotive for probably 10 years now. I originally found Davids because I had my car somewhere else for repair and the quote was crazy high. I took it to Davids and the quote there was half of what the previous place had quoted me. Since then I have sent other people to Davids when they have mentioned costly repairs and they also reported that it was much more reasonable at Davids than their previous quote was.As a single mom of four kids, every penny counts, and I feel like I am getting a good price at Davids every time.I rely on my car to get me and my kids where we need to be and not get stranded somewhere. But, its an older car with lots of miles. Each time I take it in, they check it over and let me know if anything looks like its starting to have problems. But, I feel like I can trust them too--I dont feel like they tell me something needs repaired when it doesnt.They are always friendly and Im always very comfortable going there. Its nice to have a place I can trust.

Super kind staff. Very fast. Did a lot of work for me that I didn’t know needed to be done and didn’t charge me for some of it! Love this place. My new “go-to” for car maintenance for sure.

I took my altered 1955 Chevrolet Nomad for an engine miss and was given good service and options for the repairs. I am very happy with the service that I was given.

I have been using Davids for many years now and I have always been very satisfied with the service they are providing. I had a good experience at David’s Automotive. This was my second visit and I was very satisfied both times. The service was excellent, they gave me a ride to work and my car was ready the same day. I will definitely use them again.
