I got their service about 1-1/2 years ago, and I am very satisfied. I live in a rural area where Spectrum, Frontier and AT&T is not available. We struggled with getting decent Internet for over a year. I would highly recommend. Don’t waste your money with Hughes net, Viasat or any other satellite Internet providers.

Excellent and prompt service by Ryan at Southern California Telephone Company when our internet went down yesterday afternoon. Even though it was a Saturday after 6pm when we called she opened a trouble ticket and by 11am today, a Sunday we were reconnected. She called to follow up that we were up and running and urged us to call back if it went down again. I am in customer service myself and appreciate getting the kind of service that I pride myself in giving my customers. Far better service than we EVER received from Frontier.

Unfortunately this is the only provider in our area and we still have reoccurring issues that seems to barely get resolved unless we beg and plead. Regardless the people working customer service are doing the best they can and seem to always be helpful.The technician team needs to work on communication and reliability. Seems like itll take months to get ahold of 1 technician. I dont know why but apparently theres an excuse for it every time. Very unfortunate but with the new companies that are coming out with different types of satellite internet and even higher speeds who knows how long theyll last if they keep up this repetitive issue.

So Cal Telephone has been just fine. I have used it for about 15 years. However, the infrastructure, phone lines, switching, etc., is Frontiers. And in my location that infrastructure is aging and there have been continuing problems with phone service.

Great company. Whenever Ive had issues theyve been all over it trying to get it fixed ASAP. I would have given them 5 stars but for the fact that there have been more bumps in the road than I would like, but as I said, they do their best to fix it fast. Even going so far as to send out a virtual army of people on short notice to change out equipment and all that. Thanks guys!

Have had radio signal internet for over 1 year , mostly works , but when it doesn’t , you call the customer service ( they are nice , but only can take notes) they say a tech will check into , after a month of on and off problems , (Neighbor has same problem)....and at least 8 calls , asked for manager..... not one call from tech or manager ... kids cant do school work consistently, no streaming media .Very poor communication.( my response to costumer service response)Yes a technician did reach out ,That was after seven phone calls to customer service one to a manager and two weeks of time and then I finally got contacted by the tech. Of course Technology has hiccups. I understand that. But the only authority the customer service had Was to make a note of it.As stated they were always very nice, but nothing Got done . I suggest To focus on that part of the business, in between customer service reps and the manager that can actually make things happen( information is getting lost) Nobody should have to call eight times to get a return Phone call or some attention, Especially when my son needs computer to do schoolwork from stay at home order.

Updated Review... It has been several months now and my internet is still not working correctly. I had given Southern California Telephone Company a 1 star review because at the beginning there seamed to be no help or results. Since then Suzette and Carlo have been working diligently to try and fix the issues. I am still unhappy that after several months my internet is still not working. This has affected my childs participation in school and my ability to work remotely during the Covid-19 pandemic. Once this is resolved I will be happy to adjust my review further but at this point I still loose internet on a daily basis and when I do have internet it runs at speeds 70% or more slower than what I have signed up for. I am understanding that I am in a rural area, but my internet worked fine for the first several years without issues then when I asked for a speed increase and signed a new 2 year contract everything stooped working and after several months it is still not fixed. I would like to reiterate again my appreciation to Suzette, Carlo, and the technician that has come to my house several times and there effort to try and fix this problem. I know they are doing there best but that does not resolve the issues I am having that affects me and my family every day. Hopefully this will be fixed soon so I can give Southern California Telephone Company 5 stars again. Thank you SCTC customer service.

This company saved me! I live in the middle of nowhere and they were able to assist us with wifi. No matter what time it is, and if we have an issue, John and Suzette are always there to help us get back online :) way better than frontier!!

This is an update to a review i posted a while ago. After a few months of getting the bugs worked out, everything is running perfectly now. While this service does seem to be affected by bad weather quite often, I am pretty pleased at this time. I installed Hughes Net as well as a backup, and I havent had to use it yet.Ive held off writing a review on this company until i gave it a chance. Im now in my 3rd month of service with them. The service department is totally useless. I am paying for the highest speed of 15 MBS, and most I can get out of it usually is under 3 MBS. The system or the towers have been down nearly 25% of the time. The only saving grace is their technicians. The are always super polite and helpful. I am so happy that i didnt sign the 3 year contract they wanted. I am on a search for a new provider. I spent 14 minutes on hold this morning to be told that I have to cycle my equipment every couple of weeks in order to get the speed i am paying for.

This company has really bad customer service and the connections with the phones are bad and the phones sometimes go out. All they do is want to argue with the customer not very helpful. The line is very fuzzy not clear.

I have had a lot of patience with this company because there are no alternatives out there in my area, i.e., Banning Bench (3200 feet). The saving grace has been a really nice and hard working technician by the name of Carlo who has been trying to help me with the spotty performance of this service for years now. Last year, our decade long loyalty was at least somewhat rewarded, as we got a new receiver placed in our garden at no charge, even though it has not noticeably improved speeds. Absolutely, it should be way, way more reliable, or at least consistently provide the speeds you pay for, but so far I am reluctant to completely dislike it for the aforementioned reasons. If you can get something better in this area, Id say go for it, but real time gaming will not work with satellite service, and whoever has teens, you know that aint gonna fly.

$400!!!!!!!Spectrum is offering a $29 bundled package, and I see $400 pulled out of my credit card!!!I have not received a paycheck since last November, and wondered by my credit card is always maxing out, even though I have sold off assets to pay off card. My wife must have set up to pay their account through CC.I am very unhappy with these people, and am cancelling the ASAP.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This service is horrible and their excuses as to why things arent working are even worse. Well, we didnt realize the tower was down, so we just now sent someone out there... H-E-L-L-O, do you even monitor your equipment? The fact that I have to call in to tell you something major is going on with YOUR network is amazing. The best part is then the service reps argue with you. Additionally, if you have your phone and internet services on the same bill, theyre overcharging you regulatory fees that they shouldnt be billing. Lastly, if you have a late payment, they charge you a $13.00 late fee on a $22 bill. Thats totally illegal. Its time to call the PUC.

SoCal came out once to install our antenna and we have not seen hide nor hair of them since. We are less than a mile away from them and weve had several outages in the last month which has affected business productivity. Called support 10+ times, there is always a promise that a technician will come out, and they never do. Ultimately they are failing to keep up their SLA. Step up your support and service, it is terrible!!!Edit: SoCal has reimbursed us for down time and migrated us to a stable circuit since my initial review. Thank you for stepping up and making this right.

Terrible customer service. Called March 1st, 2019 to state my 93 year old mothers phone was out of order again. Was informed by representative that a Frontier service repair person could not correct issue until March 6th. I claimed not acceptable which went on deaf ear. Suddenly today March 5th its working. Too bad no Frontier employee/representative bothered to come to her door to inform her that they were working on the phone issue. TERRIBLE COMMUNICATION ON THE PART OF THIS BUSINESS!

Ive had 2 businesses use Southern California Telephone. Their customer service is very good. Internet problems happen sometimes, but they get on it right away. Most of my problems have been because of the Frontier/Verizon changeover, and SCT has not charged me once to fix them.

Customer Service at this establishment is terrible. The Internet service is terrible. We have had issues from day one since becoming subscribers. We have left messages with managers with no replies like no one cares. Internet service is spotty if that. Frequent disconnects, high latency, with very minimal improvement in the year I have been subscribed. Beware of signing up with these people! Staff is friendly however, will give them that.

Spent 15 minutes on hold the first time trying to fix a problem and thought things would be fixed. When the problem was not resolved spent another 30 minutes on hold and still no satisfaction. I did get to spend a long time while on hold listening to their recording about how customer service is their number one priority. Think they need to get their priorities in order because customer service is obviously not a true priority.

I called to get my telephone service set up for my business and was pleasantly surprised with their customer service and knowledge. I had them come out for an analysis on my phone system and they were able to save me 40% off my current service with a whole new system. The system is ESI and its really easy to use. My employees were properly trained on the system and are able to easily transfer calls and use extensions. I would highly recommend SoCal Telephone to anyone looking for a local company that cares for their customers. I have my Verizon residential service migrating over to their billing as well, which is going to save me $20.00 a month. I wish I would have heard of them sooner.

This is the worst service you can get, it always goes down for no reason. You have to reset the antenna all the time, the girls that answer the phone always try to tell you your router has to be replaced no matter how new it is. The service techs think its funny to tell you that they turn down your speed when they get back to the office. I would not be a customer if I had ANY other choice!

Horrible company, I have an elderly Mother and she has been without a phone for a week they tell me the service tecs are not experienced enough to repair the problem so they have to put in another service ticket and we wait again for another service tec to show up. Same problem happened a couple of weeks ago and she was without a phone for a week again. It takes three or four tecs to come out several times to try and fix the problem. Every time I call they tell me the problem will be fixed that day and it never is. I will give one star for the customer team because they have been nice. This should not be happening to customers, especially an elderly person!!!!!!!

Do NOT use this dodgy company unless you want much trouble, expense, and frustration! I just moved to the area and found I had to choose a new service provider for phone and internet. I regrettably started out with So Cal Telephone and there is NOT enough space to explain the horrible experience that has gone on for months though I am not even a customer. They don’t know their jobs, are unsympathetic to your frustration over THEIR mistakes and will give you snotty attitude in return. When you call they will ask who is calling, and once you give your name, the person you need to speak with will continuously be: “unavailable, leave a voice message.” They WILL not call you back like they say they will. It wasn’t long before I found I could not trust, nor believe much of anything they said and felt jerked around.Thankfully due to my home’s location they were unable to establish connection and I was free to become a customer of a legit service provider. I only wish I could go back in time and avoid So Cal Tel. altogether, but at least I can put this review in to prevent others from making a costly, aggravating and time consuming mistake.

July 15 2015Ive been missing the landline again Yesterday I tried to get my phone number back. I was willing to eat crow and try this company again. Believe I talked to the same people that I did last year and they told me they couldnt get me back my old phone number.They said and I quote we can process for $88 a request for the old phone number but we cant guarantee anything. Where is my old phone number? Is it in the phone number cemetery?This truly is the worst company ever!

I love this option to the horrrible services Verizon never bothered to offer! Immediately, switching there was a difference. They did the work, the transfers and corrected all the issues Verizon flat out refused too. SO. CA. Telephone even emailed when I was cut off with no service ( transformer down) and they sent someone to fix it STAT! my neighbors couldnt get Verizon to do anything, being told there is a 72 hour repair. When SCT came out within the hour from my call, my neighbors switched service to SCT!Thank you SCT for helping us get the good service and quality repairs we needed and respectfully hearing us, responding timely and caring!

READ THE CONTRACT FIRST!!! PPoe internet is totally unreliable and this company like swears by it. Avoid at all cost! Because even if you want to cancel early you will be paying 80% of the remaining contract. Not just a fee like other companies.

We rely on SoCal telephone for WiFi services in a semi-rural area. The tower experiences problems quite frequently. A recent outage was 15 hours in length. The service was down yesterday morning and is down again this morning.

Service is off a lot. Im tired of unplugging and waiting and sometimes it goes on for weeks. They blame it on my wiring. Then they said you need an upgraded dish. Now its doing it again.
