These guys are the best if you have a Mercury. They can sometimes be very busy where you may have to wait, but thats because they do the job right. Ive used them for 15-20 years and I trust what they say and recommend them 100%.

Excellent service and people always my go to spot

Ron got our boat, which had been trailered for 4 years, running better that it ever had in the past, for less than we expected. He carefully explains the process, shows you the old parts, and offers a warranty. Our first outing after he repaired the engine was amazing; the engine fired up immediately, and we cruised up and down the river, idling in some areas, and flat out in others. The engine has never run so well.Pipers is honest, does quality work, and doesnt overcharge - like so many marine shops do. I will go back to him, and will certainly refer everyone I know to him.

Just love doing business with Pipers! Prior to coming to to Pipers I did my research on the new 150hp mercury and what a good price for one is. When I got there the boss lady quoted me a price much better than I have expected. These wholesome people are great, professional people to work with. This is my only one stop shop I ever go to for my boat!! If you’ve read the only couple negative reviews they got those are the type of people if you service them for free they will still find a way to complain. From my many of years doing business with Piper’s I’ve never walked out unsatisfied. Keep up the good work and thank you for my new 150 Mercury!!

Chris and Ron are true professionals! They quickly diagnosed an issue, and kept me in the loop the whole way. The repair was done the next day and back in the water 24 hours later! Very arrogant and not helpful at all. They said my boat was too old for them to work on but after speaking to them on the phone I would never take anything to them or buy anything from their store.

Pipers Marine is extremely helpful. They always have the parts you need or can get them in a few days. They dont try to oversell, just provide you with what you need. Just today I bought 4 parts. The owners son (I think) showed me how to install all 4 parts before I left so I had full confidence to do the work myself. Ive been buying my parts from them for the last year now. Fantastic service.

First time customer, very happy so far. In the middle of summer I expected to have to wait a few weeks to get my Mercury looked at. I dropped the boat off before they closed on Saturday, and had it diagnosed and a reasonably priced estimate by Tuesday. They said I would be able to pick it up by Wednesday, maybe Thursday at the latest. Impressive turn around, and I will update my post after I run the boat a few times.

Unfortunately I am a little more than frustrated right now. I just picked up my jon boat with 9.9 Mercury and a $600 tune up. Got as far as Anclote ramp today and never even got on plane. ☹ Im sure they will make it right when I bring it back, but you know the feeling when some one says its ready and your whole day is blown right there at the launch sight.

Need to repower your boat. Go see Ron or Chris. They will fix you up with the right power. At the right price

I called ahead of time to get a part priced. I was given a price and told they definitely had the part but they didn’t. It cost me time and money but ultimately they apologized, offered to help me in the future, and promised to be more careful next time. I can respect a company that owns it’s mistakes and tries to make it right

Pipers Marine is the best ever for mercury sales and service. they kept my old merc going. And recently I bought a new 90h.p. form them. awesome folks to deal with. I stayed with mercury so I could keep them for service. great family business 😃

Not a People person and overpriced

These guys are the best! Weve been using Pipers Marine to handle all of the service on our boats for the past 10 years. This is a very friendly family owned and operated business and they do great quality work. If you have Mercury motors or Mercruisers, there is no better place in the Tampa Bay area to have them serviced or repaired.

Pipers marine is a professional marine shop. They fix things the right way, the first time. Remember you pay for what you get. They are honest, up front. And will tell you costs before the work is done. I read the post by Angela basso and quite frankly that post was utterly ridiculous. Dont judge a company by one unhappy customer. EVERYTIME I have had a boat problem PIPERS always had an answer to the problem. I have a big Mercury 225 and no matter what problems Ive had PIPERS fixed it in a timely and professional manner. End of story

Seriously the old guy here has no customer service skills. The two occasions Ive gone in there looking for parts or advise I felt like I was more of a bother than a potential customer.

Pipers Marine was great to work with. I needed a lower unit for my boat and Ron was able to find one for me fast and get me and my family back on the water. I would recommend their services to anyone.

I asked for a recommendation from our community facebook page and they referref me to Pipers. A family run business right on the canal. They fixed my boat engine and gave it a good look over. The price we reasonable and my boat is running great. Id go back to Pipers in a heart beat and refer them to a friend.

Im a new boat owner and have been to this store twice now. I was a little apprehensive after reading the last review but they had a starter I needed in stock, and options were limited. The gentleman I spoke to was very helpful with me figuring out which one I needed. I unfortunately broke it installing it. Even though the box had said it would not be covered under warranty the woman very kindly exchanged it for me. I think I will be going here first next time I need anything.

Ron and Chris help me with everything I need for my skiff. Its a family operated shop and thats what I like about it. They tell me what I need and how long it will take and they do what they say they will. Good service and good people.

Do Not Use Ron Pipers services!!Illegal Vessel Id put on my boat by Pipers Marine and 30 day warning from Coast Guard to fix or be fined. On January 9, 2012 hired Pipers Marine to do work on the boat I had just purchased (23 Bow rider Sea Ray boat), which included an overall inspection, rebuild outdrive, putting Florida Registration Number on bow of boat and registration sticker in effort get ready to start using the boat.I provided Pipers legal block lettering that meets USCG guidelines to be put on the boat. Instead, Ron Piper took it upon himself to put his own letters and numbers on. For spending almost $1,000, he threw in for free putting on decals. When I picked up boat finally January 24, 2012, first was notified he put his own on.I was boarded by Coast Guard, July 8, 2012 and told lettering was illegal. All vessel identification letters and numbers have to be block. I explained to them what Pipers Marine had done and they were kind enough give me 30 days to rectify problem, or be fined. Coast Guard will be contacting me to verify this has been done or I receive the fine.I called and spoke with Ron Piper today, July 9 and was told then you need to get those replaced dont you. I told him I wanted him to remove them and put what I gave him to start on it! He replied: No, think Ill just give your money back you paid to have it done. His ego obviously could not handle they had made such a huge error.If he would have simply put Coast Guard approved decals I gave him on my boat to start with, this never would have happened! It will cost me money to have removed, glue and adhesives cleaned, and new letters put back on .Bottom line, Ron Piper put illegal registration decal on my boat and should be held responsible! His conduct is arrogant, shocking and extremely unprofessional!Intend to pursue this matter all the way to small claims court, it is truly the principal!Angela Basso
