Born and raised in Tampa, I have never been to Mavilo. Everyone I know talks about this place and everyone I know loves their little Mavilo packages when received. Getting married for the second time, I decided to check out all the fuss. All I knew going in was I wanted to showcase the diamond my finance purchased, because Im proud and so is he. I didnt want it to get lost in the setting and wanted it the focus of the setting. Tamera and Jolie were BEYOND amazing in helping me pick out my setting. Like old friends, they took their time, absolutely no pressure, stayed within our budget, and made the experience fun and informative. Highly recommend and will be going back for our wedding bands. I cannot say enough about Kim and especially Mark. I got notes from my fiancée about what she wanted but I wanted to find the stone, build the ring in secret so that when I popped the question, it would all be a surprise. Diamond shopping was much more difficult than I envisioned. I visited about a dozen different jewelers. Each one did business differently. But from my first visit with Mark, I knew he was an artist with pride in his craft. He helped educate me on stones, and most of all he was patient and honest with me as I shopped around and took time to learn about diamonds before making a decision. He listened intently to every note I shared with him about my love’s tastes and found for me an amazing stone. Further, he built a ring around it that absolutely NAILED IT. Mavilo is awesome. So many diamond retailers won’t even talk to you about lab made diamonds, but these people are experts in them. They have an incredible selection of lab made and earth made diamonds. Myranda was really knowledgeable and gave me great customer service. Would highly recommend this place!

Mark and his team were extremely helpful and professional. I did not get a “sales pitch” but instead an education on the important attributes of diamonds. Other jewerly stores talk about size and clarity, which is basic information. The quality of the cut, the GIA rating, and even the table size of the diamond all contribute to its’ brilliance. My fiancé gets compliments on a weekly basis from complete strangers because it really is the most sparkly, glittery engagement ring I have ever seen!!!

No one came close to their ability to find options for quality stones. The day could not have been as magical without their help. It is very hard to find a jeweler you fully trust with zero reservations. Mavilo is that diamond in the rough (it only took me 5min to draft this pun). From the jump, Kim and Kayley have been phenomenal in every aspect of the buying process. My fiancé and I have not been easy customers, as we both have awkward sizing and a tendency to break jewelry. Due to these less than helpful attributes, we have suffered through countless jewelers who, as most jewelers do, feed off our weaknesses in an attempt to cross-sell and force buying. That is not the case at Mavilo. Every associate is respectful and well educated in their field, but what sets them apart is their patience and overall demeanor. They don’t push. They let you come to them and offer suggestions, but leave the power in your hands. As stated above, very hard to find nowadays and Mavilo is a rare breed.

They do wonderful repairs and appraisals as well. In addition to repairs each piece was beautifully polished. When shopping for an engagement ring for my now fiancee, I visited just about every one of the reputable jewelers in the Tampa area, and could not be more glad I ended up going with Mavilo for both the diamond and the setting. I started off working with Jolie who was knowledgeable, helpful, and *very* patient while I hemmed and hawed and asked to see a lot of different stones. I appreciated that, unlike many other jewelers I encountered at other stores, Jolie did not bring out diamonds for me to see that were far outside any of the parameters I had set in terms of price, size, color, clarity, etc. When I had narrowed it down to just two stones that were significantly different in price and not perceptibly different in quality, I greatly appreciated that Jolie gave me her honest opinion that they were equally nice and I might as well save the extra money for the setting.Once we got to the setting, I couldnt find anything I really liked, so Jolie brought Mavilos in-house custom designer in to discuss possible custom designs. John hand-sketched a few designs based on my input and we worked together to narrow it down to a rough draft, which he then created a digital rendering and a wax mold of for me to see. It was a beautiful design from the start, but John happily continued to work with me to refine it, and in just 2 rounds we had a final product. Jolie stayed involved the whole time to help guide the process, as well.In the end, the ring came out stunning, and my fiancee (most importantly of all) loves it. We couldnt be happier with the service we received or more impressed with the level of detail, finesse, and creativity that went into the ring thanks to the team at Mavilo. On top of it all, I am certain we could not have gotten anything like this from any of the other dealers in town for anywhere near the price. Would highly, highly recommend to anyone in the market, especially for custom rings! (ring pictures below)

We had a wonderful experience at Mavilo, Mark and Kim were very nice and helped us find the perfect ring. They also designed some jewelry pieces with the diamonds from my old ring since this one was an upgrade. The new pieces are beautiful and very well done. Kim is also helping me to transform an ugly old piece of jewelry I had into a beautiful necklace. She sent me pictures and also a video of how it will look like. She is making a wax piece so I can see the actual size on a pair or earrings that they are also doing for me. In conclusion I’m very happy I found a wonderful place to buy my ring and transform some jewelry. I plan on going back for sure.

They might not have the biggest selection, but they have the BEST selection of settings and are willing to do whatever they can to help you visualize what you want before making it. Of all places I’ve been to in Tampa Bay, Mavilo was the only place that allowed me to see all their inventory and pricing on monitor. With this, I was able to adjust certain features based on our budget (like online diamond shopping except you can see the diamond right there as you pick them out). With our initial buy, I compromised certain aspects of the diamond for the price but after about a month, I realized I would really like an upgrade. With not much hope, went by the store to check out a wedding band and expressed my thoughts to Kim (the agent I’ve been working with since day one). Kim so easily gave me different options to upgrade and I got my engagement ring upgraded and appraised right next day. Very happy and not sure if I would visit other jewelry store after this experience.

Jolie at Mavilo was a great help to us when picking out wedding bands. Because we needed a platinum band and my hands are very small, I had to have my band custom made. The estimated return was 6 weeks but we got it weeks earlier. I also took a ring to be resized, and I received it back within 2 hours.

I went into have a pair of rings custom made. I told them exactly what I wanted. They contacted me within 2 weeks and had a mold cast of what they would look like. Within 3 weeks the rings were ready. The cost was a little more than expected but the appraisal was much more which made me very happy. The rings are beautiful. I was so touched by the extraordinary care and attention to detail on my grandfathers ring repair. Not only did Cookie re-size the ring, he identified areas of wear that needed to be fixed so that I would not lose two of the diamonds. When Cookie brought out the ring to show me I immediately cried. I had no idea that it would look as beautiful as it does now. It reminds me of my wonderful grandfather.

Kim and Nathan were awesome to work with. They answered our 30+ questions (as we were new to the process of engagement ring shopping), were patient, and also guided us to ensure the decision we were making was well thought out and intentional. I worked with Mike and Kim, but primarily Kim, and they custom-made a perfect engagement ring which turned out brilliant. Communication was done in a very modern fashion which I appreciate. Kimberly and Mark (the owner) took the time to listen to what we wanted and really teach me invaluable knowledge into what is important to look for in a stone beyond the 4 Cs.They allowed me to be as involved as I wanted, from looking through his actual database of diamonds, to FaceTiming me during the CAD design process to make sure we were all on the same page.In fact, they even helped me find a stone that was less expensive than the original stone we thought we wanted because it fit what we were looking for even more perfectly.I can’t recommend Mavilo Jewelers enough, whether you are in town, or anywhere in the country! From the moment I entered Mavilo, it feasibly put all other Tampa Jewelry locations to shame. Ive visited several big names in the Tampa area and can sincerely say I was treated as another $. Luckily, I gave Mavilo a try and was treated by the one and ONLY KIM!! As a typical first time engagement ring searching man, my diamond knowledge extended to the availability of Google, Kim did not take advantage of that and guided me through the different types of cuts, quality, and what sets them apart from the rest.
