We have used Ken for the last 4 years for all of our HVAC needs. He has come out after hours in the dead of summer to fix an old beat up AC unit multiple times. He installed our new unit and we have him out every once and again for regular maintenance. He’s no nonsense and will tell you like it is so you dont have to worry about the run around or being overcharged for things you don’t really need. And he’s just a joy to chat with when it’s all said and done. We would recommend Ken to any and everyone!

AC wasn’t cooling and I made emergency call on a Saturday and Ken responded within the hour. He was professional and quickly diagnosed and repaired the issue. Definitely will be happy to use them again.

Ken came to the rescue on a Friday evening and during the Hot and Humid summer. He worked until 7:30 pm inside of my sweltering attic to get my family some AC and selflessly gave up his Friday plans to ensure our comfort.You cannot replace compassion and his expert knowledge for a large company who profits off of upselling.

Ken Barrett AC safe the day. He came to my house on a Saturday morning. He is honest and that’s the most important quality in my eyes. I was about to be ripped off by the AC company my home warranty insurance sent,Comfort Pro Tampa. I called Ken for a second opinion. He showed me exactly where the leak was. Gave me a couple of options and let my husband and I make the decision as how to move forward. The first technician quoted me $7780 for a new AC/ Heating unit and Ken’s quote was $5425. He installed the new unit on Wednesday with his awesome assistant Peter. I highly recommend him. He has years of experience so he is super knowledgeable and the most impure is HONEST!!

In an emergency, Ken sent out a technician to assess the status of my current air conditioner.  Upon a very thorough examination, the technician explained to me that a new unit, both inside and out, would be necessary based on the damage sustained to my unit, the previous set-up, and the fact that I live in a condo.  Dave, the technician, was extremely helpful in explaining everything to me and discussing my various options in terms of replacement.Ken was extremely helpful in following up with me throughout the process.  He even called a few days after the service was finished to check and see how everything was working.  He was also extremely knowledgeable about the options that I could take in terms of replacement of units.  I felt as if he and Dave were looking for what would be best for me in the long run, not the most expensive.  Dave showed up on time, and worked long hours (in no air conditioning) to finish the job as quickly as possible.  He and another tech. built an elevated base for my outdoor unit in addition to installing a new attic unit.  I felt very comfortable with them in my house and observed them working diligently the entire time.  I felt as if they spoke to me as if I was knowledgeable but also broke things down in a way that I could understand.  I would recommend them to anyone that I know who needs either air conditioning repairs or a full replacement.  Their professionalism and level of care for the project were exactly what I was hoping for.

Great service and upfront knowledge. Kept me informed as to what and why and how things were done relating to my particular issue. He was very thorough in his work and went above on one other thing which he wasnt there to handle. I also like how he was very careful to protect my home keeping everything neat while working. Called Ken and he came out within an hour. He found that the problem was a leak in my air handler coil and gave me a quote the same day. Other companies were charging me a fortune to just add refrigerant. We agreed on a time and day and he replaced the coil. I would highly recommend his company to anyone with an a/c issue!

DO NOT use this guy. He never explained what was wrong with my unit, just that it would take 7-10 days to order a part. In Florida with 2 little ones that wont work when its 90+ outside. I asked him to explain what the issue was and he said, Im Outa Here, you wouldnt understand anyway. Wow! Then he slammed the door and left. Extremely rude, do not recommend.

Ken was very rude and disrespectful over the phone. Then lied to the warranty company so they wouldnt cover the issue. Just so he could make more money on us. Very shady guy. Dont trust him get a second opinion. We did and got everything taken care of through our warranty.

Great experience. All of the previous AC companies we used were insistent on upselling us on something. Kens guys actually helped us get a couple of extra years out of our system. Now that we are replacing the AC unit, we will for sure be using Ken. I highly recommend this company.

This review is related to my experience with Ken as of yesterday/today. Initially he called my wife after our Home Warranty company forwarded our request for service to Ken. During the conversation with my wife, Ken was rude and repeatedly talked over my wife. He was also very wishy-washy when she asked for an approximate time that his team would be out to our house. It was Thursday around mid day and my wife and I both work full-time so it was somewhat important to know when we needed to be home to greet his team. Anyhow after getting frustrated, my wife got off the line with Ken and I told her I would call him. I had a similar experience to her, and found him to be rude and less than competent. He started the conversation by telling me that I had somehow just missed a cutoff time to schedule an appointment for the same day because it was really close to 2pm (it was actually 1:45pm) and his team just got pulled to another site. No big deal really - I didnt expect to get first priority but he only has one team that consists of 2 people and has a very hard time just scheduling that one team...again, not very competent. I told him that the following morning would be okay. So his guys show up to our house this morning and I show them our Home Warranty paperwork. They act surprised that Im a Home Warranty customer and say they have no work order from the insurance company. Mind you, the insurance company called Ken initially to have him contact us. Again, hes a putz and doesnt remember anything, take notes, or keep files. So eventually Kens guys leave (who were very nice by the way). About 30 minutes after they leave Ken calls me up for a screaming match and wants to know where I got his number. I told him that the home warranty company put us in contact and he automatically starts being a jerk again. When I fired back at him to let him know how incompetent he was, he suddenly developed a stutter. From what I could understand, he was calling me names and dropping f-bombs on me, which I gladly returned back. I know there are mostly positive reviews here but anybody can write a review on Google. Im assuming these are from Kens family (if they can deal with him) or Ken himself honestly. I would not suggest using Ken when there are a myriad of other companies to choose from who are professional, customer-focused, and exhibit much better management skills. Youve been warned.

Ken, the owner of the company was so rude and kept bad mouthing my home warranty company and their procedures. Me as a homeowner didnt really care about any of that and JUST WANTED MY AC fixed! Well, he didnt fix it and I was 100.00 out of pocket and had to stay in a hotel with my infant. Do yourself a favor, DO NOT CALL!

I recently was having issues with my A/C and had a major company come out to take a look that I had been using for many years. They told me I needed to replace my unit and it was going to cost $6000 for my 1200 sqft house. I decided to get a 2nd opinion and was referred to Ken Barrett Air Conditioning by a friend. I am so thankful I made that decision because John and Tommy came out and did a full check of my system and found that a fuse had blown and repaired some wiring. Not only that, they only charged me $100 for a service call and gave me a quote for a new unit which was half the price of the other company. I highly recommend Ken Barrett Air Conditioning if you are looking for any repairs or maintenance on your A/C unit as they are very trustworthy and dependable.

AC repair in tampa is a need. You have to know the right company with all the equipment on the truck! Their Technician was very professional and explained the ac motor burnt out. I would recommend this company if you are looking for ac recharge or ac maintenance.

The reason I gave it 1 stars is because I feel as if I were mislead on the price. I was told it would be $80 for the maintenance and it included up to a pound of freon. When the technician came out, he stated I needed a special freon and charged me an additional $80. It evens states on my receipt he put 1 pound of freon in the machine. If I realized it would of been $160, I would of went somewhere else and declined all services. Whereas I think everything has been serviced accordingly, I am probably going to look elsewhere next time around.UpdateIts been about a week since they have been out and now the AC it not working. Im not sure what they did, but somehow they managed to break the AC.Upon visual inspection of the unit it is now leaking and frozen. I now need to call someone else to figure out what they failed to do upon a simple maintenance.I would stay far away from this place unless you want to get overcharged and have no AC.UpdateAnother company came out to look at the unit and nothing was done to it. Freon was never topped off, a hidden filter not found, and coils werent clean. I paid this company to do work that was never completed. If you had hired this company please check and make sure the work that they did was actually done. They have cost me over $240 due to them misleading me into believing they have serviced the machine when they didnt.UpdateKen called me and we attempted to rectify everything. He sent Dave out to maintain my equipment. Dave proceeded to degrade me and get defensive on the other guys diagnosis and stated it was wrong. He cleaned the coils and it took 5 minutes to do. At that point I told him to leave as I spoke to 3 other companies and they stated it should take 1-1.5 hours to clean the internal coil.I spoke to Ken, instead of apologizing, he got defensive and started to yell at me. He said that Dave did not take advantage of me because I was a female. I explained no one brought that up. After him telling me to stop talking, he refused to give me back all of the monies owed. He said that is part of owning a house and sometimes you get ripped off.This is not the type of business I would like to associate with and its not the way to run a business.Ken did call me again to apologize for his behavior along with Daves. He did express remorse for the lack of actions taken upon servicing my unit. He still feels as if Dave did work on my unit even though I had another unbiased opinion and diagnosis that stated otherwise.He is refunding me for the lack of services that Dave was suppose to do, but still didnt want to give the money back for the other service that I had to pay due to Daves inability to maintain my unit. The reason the unit did not work was due to a dirty filter (we just bought the house and didnt know it was there), dirty coils, and lack of freon. This should of been observed and addressed through a simple maintenance of the unit. They are suppose to be professionals and I trusted them with that ability to do a thorough checkup on my unit. The repair technician managed to find all that.Ken did state to give it a few days and when I call someone else out to let him know what their diagnosis is.

We have a home warranty and Ken Barrett came even at 8 pm to fix our air conditioner problem which previous technicians had difficulties fixing. Now our air conditioner works and we have no problems with it.
