This was a beautiful day to celebrate a birthday with some adventurous friends. Mike had us fitted and on the trail in no time. He paid much attention to detail and gave us tips and tricks to make the journey easy for all levels. All the equipment was in excellent condition. With this experience, Im inspired to get my own e-bike.

My husband and I set out for a day date without a plan, and we stumbled across Mikes and did a two hour electric bike trip. The ride was beautiful, fun and we stopped at a food truck along the trail. Mike taught us what we needed to know so we felt comfortable as first timers and was super personable and helpful. I already recommended this to everyone we talked to in Stillwater so thought I’d post a review too.

Mike was a wonderful guy, taught us everything we needed to know about the bikes and the route to take. Very personable but professional. Great bikes, easy to use and the trail was fantastic!

First time at Mikes, will not be the last. Rented 2 bikes today, very nice lady, (Mrs. Mike?) Explained how to operate the equipment, fitted our helmets, and we were off. The bikes are in Excellent condition. Pristine and beautiful trails are mapped out for you. This made for a wonderful afternoon. Cant wait to enjoy their services again

Went to Herman Electric Bikes this morning to check out an electric bike for the first time. Owner could not have been nicer. He picked out two bikes for us and then took the time to explain how to use them.The bike shop is literally right on the bike trail system. We ventured the Minnesota Wisconsin loop first about five miles and then tried the Brown Creek trail that winds up and through the woods. Just beautiful.I highly recommend giving this a shot.We plan to come back with friends and make a day of it.

Very fun experience! Mike was very helpful explaining how to use the bikes, where to go and how long it would approximately take. I would recommend going for a fun time downtown Stillwater. Call for reservations, as they get booked up quickly!

Did the one hour demo ride and had a great time. The rental experience was quick and painless. The bikes and helmets were clean and in excellent condition. The staff was friendly and helpful. Will definitely come back again.

My experience at Mikes Electric Bikes was really wonderful - couldnt have been better. My boyfriend and I came in to rent bikes as a way of ride-testing the Rad Power Bikes that we are thinking of buying -- Mike and Faith were SO accommodating, kind, and knowledgeable. They rearranged their schedules to work with the times that we could come, gave us tons of ideas of where to ride the bikes, and were simply an overall pleasure to work with and be around. Mike also showed us the progress they have made on their gorgeous coffee shop that will be opening soon - we cant wait for the stay-at-home-order to be lifted so we can visit! I 100% recommend them.

I have had a chance to ride Mikes electric bikes a few times now. It is so much fun to go up and down the local trails of Stillwater. If you want an exciting experience, take one of the bikes over Stillwaters new bridge. Eventually the new bike trail will go over both new and old bridges, for a five mile loop (I believe thats the distance). Renting an electric bike from Mike really is a fun experience. Come to Stillwater for this...

From start to finish a great experience. Great service, great bikes and Stillwater & surrounding area are so beautiful. Take 2 hours or even 4 and go explore & have fun. Mike & his wife are doing it right. You can even enjoy a coffee when your ride is done. Green Bridge Coffee is the perfect spot to unwind.

We rented the Radpower City stepthru bikes to make sure we liked them before buying them. They were great! The experience we had renting the bikes and riding them was the best!

Renting from Mike’s Electric Bikes was one of the most fun experiences I had all summer! The minute you walk through the door you receive A+ service from the owners. They are truly knowledgeable about the bikes and give you all the instructions and directions you need to make your bike ride the best it can possibly be. The bikes are very nice and easy to use and the information you are given about the different trails/food destinations could not be better. An added bonus is the nice decor and atmosphere in the store, I especially love the large wall map the owners used to explain how to navigate the city and trails. Great experience! The electric bikes are so much fun to ride. The owners gave simple directions on how to use all the features on the bikes. They also gave great recommendations on places to stop along the bike paths and around town. I would recommend this place to anyone!

We had an awesome experience with Mikes E Bikes. For someone that hasnt been on a bike for many years it was so much fun, Mike is a pretty cool guy and after some basic paperwork we were ready to hit the beautiful Browns Creek Trail. Mike walked us through the E bike basics and we were off on an awesome ride through some stunning greenery. Theres miles of trails in and around Stillwater (theres even a great big map on Mikes wall) and we look forward to another day of exploring. The bikes themselves are comfortable and easy to ride, the electronic assist had us rolling easily along!

In years past I put a lot of miles on my bikes. Now in my mid sixties, age dictates much less riding. That was until I met Mike of Mikes Electric Bikes. I cant say enough about how he spent the time to explain the electric bike, how it worked and operation tips. All his equipment, from the Rad Power bikes to bikes helmets are top of the line and all seemed to be brand new. After personal adjustments to assure the right fit of the bike, the REAL fun began. He took us to the bike trail and off we went. The bike trails in Stillwater are excellent and the scenery is great. The electric bikes push the whole experience over the top.Thanks for the great day Mike. You got us online looking at the purchase of a Rad Power Bike now.

Riding over the St. Croix River and then along the Browns Creek Trail was probably our favorite thing about visiting Stillwater. The electric assist bikes made 25 miles very doable and enjoyable. This was an amazing way to take in a lot of the surrounding countryside. Farms, forests, lily pad ponds and more are all part of the scenery accessible by bike. The food truck was amazing (they will give you directions). The trails are perfect. Renting from Mike’s was easy. Just walk in....

Bike’s were awesome and easy to use. Owners (Mike and Faith) were friendly, accommodating and helpful. We brought 18 people for a company outing. Everyone had a blast. Most had never used electric motor assist fat bikes before but they are super easy. We all did the Browns Creek Trail, stopped at Gasthaus for a drink, went to Park Point Park, then all the way back to Stillwater. Never broke a sweat due to the motor assist bikes. Going back again for a date night. So fun!

The bike rental could not have been any easier. Mike was very helpful and friendly, and took his time to explain everything. Rode over 20 miles in a little over an hour, and got to see more of the Stillwater area. Bikes were easy to ride and comfortable. A must stop when visiting Stillwater.

Can’t say enough good things about our experience. My wife & I are visiting Stillwater & decided to rent ebikes. We walked to Mike’s only to find that they were closed. However, they had a nice little sign saying to call if you are interested in renting. Faith (Mike’s wife) answered & arranged for Mike to meet us at the shop. Faith & Mike were extremely friendly & helpful. Mike gave us the ebike tutorial, recommended a route for us to ride, & gave us dining recommendations. He encouraged us to take as much time as we needed to ride the path & enjoy the day, there was no hard deadline on when we needed to be back. We mentioned to Mike earlier that we were on a mini-honeymoon & when we returned the bikes he gave us an awesome painting of the lift bridge that his brother had done as a wedding gift. A+ biking experience & A+ customer service.

Cant say enough about how positive my experience with Mikes Electric Bikes was. The short version: excellent location (beautiful St. Croix River and plentiful off-street bike paths nearby), great service, high quality bikes, great price, and I was happy to support a business that is expanding access to ebikes, which I think are going to skyrocket in popularity in the next couple years for many very good reasons.The full story: After getting a job in Stillwater, I started considering buying an ebike to commute from my home in Minneapolis a couple days a week. Was amazed to learn that theres a place that rents ebikes in downtown Stillwater. I called the shop and spoke with Mike and pitched the idea of me renting a bike for 24 hrs to ride it home from work and back the next morning. Mike was totally on board and supportive. The shop itself is conveniently located in immediate proximity to a network of off-street bike trails and Mikes even got a giant map of the trail network hung up in his shop. The bike I rented worked exactly the way it should for all 60 miles of my voyage which was important since I was relying on it to get home and back to work the next day. In addition to being more than satisfied with my rental experience, I am also very thankful that Mike pointed me in the direction of the company that he gets his bikes from (Rad Power) which cost $1,500 (I thought I would be paying closer the $3,000). He also recommended having my bike built by Velofix, which is a mobile bike repair company that serves the Twin Cities area. If it hadnt been for Mikes Electric Bikes letting my try an ebike and providing so much information about this recently evolving technology, its unlikely I would have actually gone through with my ambition of buying my own ebike. Thanks to Mikes I felt confident ordering my RadCity ebike which arrived a couple weeks ago and it has worked exactly the way I hoped to help me commute by bike 2 days a week. Ebikes are amazing and you kind of have to try one yourself to grasp the value that they provide, so I highly recommend paying Mikes a visit to try one for yourself!
