I cannot comment on anything about their food or service but I attended a meeting in one of their banquet rooms.The owner was gracious enough to keep his bar open after restaurant hours to accommodate those looking to quench thirsts of those attending meeting.This venue is beautiful.Bathroom clean!All handicapped parking and building accessible.

I just want to reach out again and thank you 100x over for accommodating our bridal shower on 7/12. We had a great time! Our guests LOVED the food and service. You all went above and beyond for us and we are truly grateful! With the ever so changing rules and regulations, we were so lucky to be able to have the shower and just cant thank you enough. Food was good but not enough of. Family style and we ran out of everything half way around the table of pretty much everything and had to ask for more. Everyone at our table was trying to take smaller portions so everyone had some too.

Went to a wedding tonight here. Top notch service. Food was AMAZING!!! Couldn’t have asked for anything better. Beautiful room perfect for the amount of guests. If I could give 10 stars I definitely would! Highly recommend!

Villa Penna is my spot, great food and service. I cant name a favorite, I love everything. Lasagna, chicken piccante, the house salad dressing, garlic bread and the beef tenderloin...all wonderful. I always ordering food and attending events at Villa Penna, it is a wonderful establishment.

Pennas is not great anymore.Years ago, a trip to pennas meant incredible Alfredo that youd think about before, during, and after. Today, the Alfredo is bad. Its clear there is no cheese in the sauce, its milk/roux noodles.Thats not all, for a wedding the portions were small. Everyone knows the ~100$/plate costs of weddings, so why were we carefully dividing up family style and running out? Pennas is cheap.I asked if there was any extra soup or palomino noodles. No. We ran out of the beef dish before one member of the table could ask if there were nuts in it.The bread needs help.The breaded chicken was good this time, typically its soggy, but credit where its due.Pennas is like the former high school quarterback that keeps talking about winning the big game in the 30s. Its obvious these are cost cutting measures that could be avoided. Its time to start associating pennas with cheap halls like Knights of Columbus.Edit- recently visited for another wedding. The Alfredo was significantly better, but the chicken was soggy. Their Italian wedding soup had no meat balls. Definitely cutting costs.

Got curbside catered dinner from here and no one can deliver delicious and hot food like villa penna. Chicken most and the picante sauce perfection. The steak perfectly cooked and tender. Green beans, potatoes, fettuccine Alfredo, stracciatella soup delicious. Their garlic bread phenomenal! The best Italian garlic bread in michigan!

Great place for special occasions. They go above and beyond for their costumes.

Our family has held several weddings at Pennas! The food is always hot and fresh! Their Fettuccine Alfredo is the best in the universe!

VIlla Penna handled wedding planning during the pandemic with transparency and grace. I can not thank them enough for being so flexible and understanding throughout it. I am sad that I couldnt host my event here because their food is my favorite but I will have many more events in the future that I will be sure to host here!

Top notch. George penna the owner is a really good man that has a heart of gold. Book your party here and you will be pleased. You have my word as a man on that. This is the most kind family around.

Beautiful atmosphere with great food & very attentive staff. An excellent choice as a place to hold your event.

The food was terrible and undercooked. How can you ruin sausage, eggs, waffles and pastries? Scrambled eggs had egg shells in them and had an odd taste. The sausage was undercooked and tasted off. The waffles were dry, like they had been previously made and then frozen and allowed to become freezer burned. And the pastries that were placed on our table were still frozen.

Fantastic food and an Italian feel to the atmosphere... By fantastic food, I mean its the best banquette food Ive ever had. Moist, tasty potatoes.. flavorful pasta... The salad dressing tastes homemade... The food was just great, and being Italian... Thats tough for me to say because there is nothing better than homemade Italian food

Our son & fiance decided to have an impromptu wedding 10/21. They wanted the families to go to the JP with them, then everyone would go out to a restaurant for a bite to eat. I only had 6 weeks but I wasnt going to let my sons wedding happen quite that way. I contacted Villa Penna and I explained to Angela the situation, we wanted an intimate room for 30 where I could have the ceremony and reception. Thankfully they had the Francesco Room available on such short notice. We did things a little unconventionally but we could not be happier with the way it all turned out. Being I had never planned an event like this before I wasnt quite aware of all the rules but the staff put up with my madness and allowed us to give our son and now daughter in law the best day we could with the limited time & space. Our servers Ben & Jose were excellent, the food was delicious! We could not have been more pleased. My son is planning a much larger reception for next year and Villa Penna will be hosting that as well. Thank you again for a wonderful experience and for putting up with all of our last minute changes. Looking forward to our next event at your venue.

I was there for a Christmas in July gala. The food wasnt all bad. I did not like the chicken but the roast beef was awesome. Hard to get to but Google maps was got me there just fine

Top Notch in Every Way

Less than impressed! Had several issues with this venue and when making my issues known, I received nothing but smart remarks. When giving my final count they informed me they do not do chicken fingers for children! I have NEVER heard of a Hall not providing a kids meal. Along with this I was told kids under 3 are free, but no plate will be given to them, they have to eat off parents plates... what?! They also included children in the bar fee. When asking staff for assistance, I received nothing but dumb looks on their faces. Kept having to get up and ask for more dessert plates to be set out as well as more pieces of my sons cake! This should not be my job! Hall wasn’t ready for my event planner to come in and set up when I was told we could come in as early as 10am. This is just a small fraction of our issues that day. Thank you Villa Penna for making my son’s baptism a day I’ll never forget and not in a good way!

Im 18 months late on this review, but I suppose late is better than never. My then fiancee and I had our hearts set on a destination wedding, but wanted to look locally before we committed to anything else. In the end, we looked at one venue and one venue only, Villa Penna.Villa Penna had been both our families favorite restaurant for years. The food is spectacular, and reason enough to book Villa Penna. The building itself is beautiful, and dresses up very well. The venue was very accommodating when it came to photographs before the reception, and the service staff was excellent.I cant say enough good things about our wedding experience with Villa Penna. There is no place I would have had my wedding reception.

The venue was so amazing and really made the organizing of the event (fashion show fundraiser) easy. They were very knowledgable, accommodating and really really humble. They went out of their way in more then one way..... I mean really above and beyond to help us have a successful event. Both me and my fellow organization members are happy that we decided to have our event here. Thank you Jamie, Hana, George, and Frank for everything...you guys are outstanding. God Bless

The customer service from the get go was not pleasant at all. I am at the beginning stages of planning a retirement party and called to inquire about the availability of date I had in mind. The lady who answered didnt offer her name or ask how can I help you? at the introduction of the call. In the middle of me asking about the availability, she interrupted me in mid sentence, in a very rude manner, to ask how many people. She didnt even let me finish my very first question...I know this may sound petty, but with so many establishments out there, Everyone should be on their A Game in regards to customer service. I have called around to a few places and she was by far the most unprofessional and rudest. I didnt proceed with the conversation...First impressions are very important!!!

Fantastic pasta sauce... and Im Italian! Actually all the food was delicious! Looking forward to a return trip.

My fiancee and I had spoken to Villa Penna several times via email and scheduled a tour. At minimum were going to host our reception there but possibly the ceremony as well. We arrived yesterday at 9:52 am for our 10 am appointment and waited, as the doors were locked, on an outside bench by the door. A woman turned into the parking lot near us speeding as though she were late for an appointment, so we figured she was who we were meeting with. We waited but no one came. By 10:08 I tried phoning only to get an after hours message. I also wrote an email saying perhaps we were at the wrong door but crickets. By 10:15 we drove to the back where her car and another was present but couldnt enter there either so we left. Its now a day and a half since our appointment and theres still crickets.Looking at other reviews I believe the woman saw two people of color and decided they didnt want to service us. My fiancee and I are middle age professionals who came prepared to conduct a finanical transaction. Im recovering from a major surgery yet delayed my recovery to keep my appointment for a venue we were excited about but I know why we were ignored and will take our business elsewhere. If you are a person of color dont even waste your time here or at their sister property.

This place is phenomenal and was my favorite Italian restaurant before they closed their doors and switched to events only. The staff was always friendly and Ive been back for events since, Id recommend this place to anyone.

Clean. Great food. Great service. Convenient location. Banquet prices were reasonable except for cash bar. Drinks were very high priced. $8 for small Kahlua and cream.

One of my best restaurant experiences was at Villa Penna, where we were seated and served withing ten minutes. The entire dinner took less than a half hour because of how efficient and attentive the staff was to our meal! The atmosphere was soothing and romantic. The menu is priced a bit higher than average restaurants, however the portion sizes are perfect and the food is delicious. They have both a banquet hall for parties, and a restaurant area. I would highly recommend trying out this restaurant the next time youre looking for a place where you can dress up or dress down.

Wow what a great place to eat. My wife and I had our wedding reception here 3 years ago and finally made it back tonight for our anniversary dinner. Everyone still talks about how good the food was at the reception, even 3 years later! It was good to go back and we wish we lived closer so we could eat here more often. We definitely recommend Pennas!

Beautiful banquet, got married here and have attended several weddings!! They always have great food and superb service!

I live within a mile from this place. And, every weekend they insist on blasting their music at full capacity. The staff is completely disrespectful, and unwilling to have their music at a reasonable volume. The management will not listen to a concern about having bass blast until 1:30am. Attempting to communicate in an intellectual conversation is not possible. I will never attend this venue on account of the disrespect this place has towards residents that live around them. There are plenty of suburbs, apartments, and old folks residents that live around them. Yet, the management seems to be apathetic about other peoples feelings. I enjoy peace and quiet, but every weekend I am forced to listen to bass until 1:30am or later.

First time there and the food was amazing. Was there for a wedding rehearsal dinner and was able to try several items. All the items were delicious

Our family hosted a graduation party at Villa Penna. The food was fantastic but the service was subpar. They were unable to provide childrens meals for 4 children seated at our table. We asked if they could prepare something else in place of chicken tenders and fries. They replied simply with a no.Lastly, after an hour of follow up requests for a highchair for our 10 month old I requested to speak with management when I was told they do not have any.

In Sterling and Clinton this is what you call fancy and classy. Its right above a date under the bridge by the Clinton River and right below getting married at the mall.

Had our July 14th wedding there and couldnt have been any happier that we had choose this place, the food was excellent, the staff was very attentive and professional as well...wouldnt have changed anything, my husband and I and our guests were very pleased with our experience there....and a big shout out to Jamie and Hana for accommodating us perfectly!

Delicious Food! The fettuccine alfredo and the mostaccioli with meat sauce was the best Ive tasted. The staff was friendly and helpful. The grand staircase made the perfect stage for picture taking.
