I found Eileen by chance when I moved to Springfield from out of state. I was newly single and confused about the new property taxes and other changes to my taxes. Eileen was awesome. Fast, extremely knowledgeable and surprisingly very affordable. I recommended her to a friend who was using those other guys in the big box store and she found a bunch of money they left on the table. I tell everyone they need to use Eileen at Pro Tax.

I would never have thought I would be writing a bad review for this company. I have had my taxes done there in the past, had good results, loved working with Barb. She has always explained information to me and walked me through knowing stuff that I had no idea what to do. I was even considering having them start doing our payroll and bookkeeping on a regular basis....EXCEPT Ive had to reconsider. Emailed her our expense report 0n March 18th, I thought she would probably get our taxes done prior to the deadline. Emailed her on 4/20 unsure if I not gotten everything to her and asked her to let me know. I text her and she said shed be into work soon. While waiting for a notice on the completion of our taxes, admittedly, I forgot to get her some additional information that I later found while moving our office [without her prompting] which I got to her way ahead of the deadline. Note: she never asked for them nor expressed that she was working on them at all. Now, mind you, all this time of waiting, two owners are up my backside trying to understand why I wasnt harassing her about the taxes. I was giving her grace because of a sick relative and it being a tough time of the year for tax accountants and was confident she would complete them on time. May 5th, she was supposedly happy to get the more info for our taxes I emailed her but we still have not seen the taxes done. What pushed one of my owners over the edge was a FB post on May 12th on Pro Tax Consultants, LLC page which said they were willing to take on Last minute Larrys. May 17th, no notification on the status of our taxes. Very disappointed that we didnt even get a call. May 19th, sent email asking if she had filed an extension. ​She said in an email response not to worry and that yes, she had filed the extension and would be working on them next week. [UPDATE: she just called and said she would get them done next week and apologized for not having better communication] She told me she was going to start working on them this week but when Ive called her, I get nothing. Ive intentionally tried not be mean since this is the person that is going to file our taxes and feared that if I got too pushy, she wouldnt do our taxes to the best of her ability. Ive made excuses for her delays, sick family member, she had a lot of other clients, etc. to the other two owners of our business. I like her and wanted to keep that friendly relationship. I wanted Barb or her team to do our payroll and bookkeeping, but how can I justify that. Barb herself said, in business, no one is your friend. My mistake. So, now, I am having to go look for another accountant since Im not sure how much longer I can wait. One owner is ready to come yank our paperwork and find someone else...personally I just want them done. I finally called and expressed my disappointment and frustration. It makes me sad that after all this time, previous tax seasons, this is how we are treated. I thought we had a good working relationship and all my confidence is gone. I am at a loss. [UPDATE: she was very friendly and nice in my frustration with her when she called. I am hoping this is just a one time situation and that we can all learn from this and not see a repeat].
