I just finished my first week of training in Springfield Missouri. I feel blessed to have had such patient and knowledgeable trainers. They definitely went the extra mile to be sure be sure we have the tools to succeed in our new career. The company itself is awesome! They actually care about their drivers, everyone works together as a family. First and foremost in this company is SAFETY SAFETY SAFETY! I highly recommend this training course if you are thinking of going OTR. So many different options after you get ybeough the whole course! So, if your looking for a company who treats you as part of a family and actually cares about your safety... no reason not to to learn from the best instructors out youre! Good Luck! Thank you Wilson Logistics for giving me the tools and knowledge to make my dream a reality❤
If you are thinking of making OTR Truck Driving your career, I would apply for a position at Wilson Logistics before trying any place else. This company is all about Safety, they run this company as a family and treat everyone like they are part of the family. I cannot even put into words all I have learned in the last 5 days from their class instructors! They are in my opinion, Class A trainers. They are patient with their class and have created a training course that is designed to give you all the tools you will need to be successful if put into use. Did I mention Safety?? Safety is the most important thing you will learn from this company. I have made it through this part of my training with my desire to succeed, however, without my instructors and their knowledge of every aspect needed..... I would not have been able to do it. I am very lucky to have had them and couldnt have hoped for a better team of instructors with their training course and their patience!!! They helped me with my first step in the direction of my new career. They have given me all I need to build on and improve. The real training begins now... I say now but, without the steps this company and their instructors has provided to me, I would have no chance at succeeding! I would mention their names here.. but, they know who they are 🙂 and if you want to be part of one of the safest fleets on the road, you will be lucky enough to meet each and every one of them. They work as a team and every part of that team essential and is there to help us succeed!!!! Thank- You All, from the bottom of my ❤! Dawn
I applied with Wilson Logistics and have had no problems. The people that been taking care of me have been on it since the day I applied. Miss Lisa Little and Miss Gretchen Jackson are outstanding. They take time to answer your questions and explain everything. They are always available thru email and get to you, in an appropriate time frame. If they see you need something to complete the process, they will reach out and tell you what is needed and what you must do. I am excited to start my new journey with Wilson Logistics.
They used the fact that I was a retired Firefighter against me. Telling me I had a Firefighter mentality. I was unsafe. If that makes any sense?Instructors are not qualified to teach effectively.
Overall Wilson is a good company to work for. I went through their CDL training program a little over 3 years ago and was very pleased. The in house trainers are all very knowledgeable and friendly people. I left after a year for greener grass and ended up coming back 8 months later and stayed on as a lease operator for another year and a half. I recently left for the second time to try out a new venture.Pros:-Excellent staff in every department. Training, dispatch, safety, compliance, all of them.-Excellent trucks. Theyre all late model low mileage and well maintained trucks.-Very serious about safety. Thanks to that, I always got pre passed at weigh stations and very very rarely got pulled in for inspections even when I had to roll on the scales.-Dispatchers are very understanding. Whether its shutting down for bad weather or routing home for an emergency, they work with you and help you out as much as they can.Cons:-Prime reefer freight! They do have other divisions with their own trailers and freight, but none of them were possible for me where I live. So I was stuck with Prime, which I wasnt a huge fan of. I could write a whole 10 page essay on why that is, but this is a Wilson review not Prime.-Home time. Their policy is one day home for every week out. Minimum 3 weeks out, maximum 5 days home which is pretty standard but I personally couldnt make enough money unless I stayed out for 2 months at a time, but maybe that was just me.Thats really about it for the negative. I wont talk bad about them because they treated me very well when I was there and even as I was leaving I was treated with nothing but respect.I was initially planning on giving a 4 star rating, mainly due to working with prime freight, but as I was writing that last bit about the level of respect I experienced I decided to go ahead and give em that extra star. That respect means so much in this industry, and they definitely give it to you.
Best company I worked for. Well ran operation. Very friendly and takes care of their employees
For an OTR training company I dont believe Wilson can be beat. Expect to work 3-4 weeks between hometime, but thats an industry average. Their safety department and management had a drivers back, rather than allowing driver managers (dispatch) to dictate and threaten drivers. If I was going to stay OTR these are the guys I would still be with.
Getting my CDL through their program I am really enjoying my time with Wilson logistics it may be a little tough at first but it all comes together
My opinion, best company to drive for. Awesome people to work with. Makes my job way better!!
I have been working with Wilson Logistics for over a year as a transportation service provider. They have hauled hundreds of loads for us. Great service. Great communication. All staff is courteous and easy to deal with. Overall great company to have haul your freight. Highly recommend. Family owned company values still hold true today!
Good peoples great service
Great, friendly and informative staff, they really make you feel welcome and part of the family.
Good friendly workers, been with them 3 years and wont go anywhere else...
Lots of trainees training trainees. Not much backing practice OTR. It all depends on who you get stuck with. The training department seems a bit unconcerned for the success of their students. Drivers who train you may or may not understand what you need to be successful. Trainers are often texting on the pad instead of giving instruction.
Very unfriendly recruiter named Chris there that is probably the reason they are short on hiring drivers... the guy told me it’s was a dealbreaker if I couldn’t provide 1099 for employment verification... that was no problem because I keep all my records but with his condescending tone I decided this wasn’t the company for me a quickly hung up ... this company needs more professional and polite recruiters and maybe they will bring in more drivers
If Wilson Logistics and their recruiter, Jason Remington, is any indication of how good this trucking company is, then I am headed in the right direction! Definitely a Five Star business!
Dont understand the negative reviews. You only get out of it, as much as you put into it. Started with CDL training three months ago. Finishing up with my trainer this week and starting my solo period. Its been all positive, but not easy, and not for everybody. Good people everywhere in the company.
My fiance and I had an interview with Will Trans as company team drivers. Everyone seemed very nice until we met with the operations manager. He was horrible. Ive heard horror stories of trucking companies trying to push a lease to purchase on you but had never experienced it until this guy. He had the used car salesman attitude. My fiance and I got up in (his) mid sentence and walked out. This company is set up for new drivers who dont know the ins and outs and can be easily pushed around. EXPERIENCED DRIVERS BEWARE!!!
Im only giving them one star cause I have to. These people claim to care about ones situation. Thats a lie. Cause I called and asked about their program and I had told them I was in a prior program and they say which I can understand we cant take you if you have other obligations. Ok. I get that cause of conflict of interest. But if one person drops out of there other obligations due to current situations. Theres no conflict. Makes sense to me. So I finnaly quit my other obligations. Called back and he says well now cause you did that. I cant take you into my program. Which is another lie so he basically pushed me out the program before I started. So I could imagine what it would of been like if I actually joined the program.... Idk about this company. PEOPLE think twice about calling them... I cant speak for everyone. But I seen nothing but careless. Its their jobs as recruiters to get one to join in. If that guy wasnt helping the company whyyysss he working their????
These guys wont get you home when you put in for time off! Dispatcher Jack Ewing claims that you never talked about time off, even when he called you and talked about it!!!
I traveled 28 hrs to train and went woth a trainer and was.told that I was doing great! Then 1 week later Im getting dropped off in Missouri and told that Im being dismissed and theyre sending me home. ALL WITH NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY. I am confused.
I dont work for the company and as far as I am concerned never will had a little bit of a run in with a driver trainer and his trainee tonight at HP Hood in Winchester Virginia trainer needed his head smacked because his trainee nearly took my mirror off my truck he acted as if was no big deal kid should never have been behind the wheel in fact not even allowed to drive he had no idea what he was doing
This company is a joke, there is more sitting than running. I would unload with a full day to drive, wouldnt reload until next day. The fleet management has no clue how to run a truck, and will send you into bankruptcy!
Best company I have evered worked for!
After your training your excitement will pass. These people are abusive to new drivers. Check out there retention rate before signing on.
Im training with wil-trans right now and it has been a very good experience so far, great training and the company has treated me right. Every thing they told me would happen, has happened. Very happy to be a part of the company.
Hoping to get some good news from them this week that they will give me a chance to show them that I could be a great asset to there company as a driver
I recently applied with this company, I spoke to a recruiting member this morning as they called me after I filled out an online application.. Ive been working at my last employer for 6 months. Prior to that I had been driving for a company for almost 5 years. The recruiter who called me was a extremely rude man . people listen it doesnt take 🚀 science to know if your recruiter is rude and a complete jerk.one can conclude thats how their company is going to be treating there drivers. Im so glad that this jerk showed his true colors. Extremely rude calling me at 9am when I put on my application best time to contact me mid afternoon. He was wantinting to verify my employment I told him my employment date was enough at sunstate is 6 months. He yelled at me he was a real idiot. He made me so angry I told him to f..k off . I am feeling bad for that but I treat people like they treat me. Im so glad I. Didnt work here if he treats a potential driver with 22 plus years like a student then I certainly do not need this company. If a recruiting repeatedly yells at you and questions you then you should realize its their job to represent will trans . im going to be calling owner shortly.
Just talked to recruiting today very helpful answer my questions very professional looking forward to hearing more about the possibility of working with them
Excited about Wil-Trans!
Stay away!
The staff is excellent respectful and very attentive
Yeah
