I chose ResumeYourWay because they were disabled veteran owned and I was able to determine after briefly talking to them over the phone that they seemed honest and helpful. They focused on answering my questions and understanding my needs and by the time I hung up the phone , I realized that I was not even told how to purchase my product . So I called back and they helped me with the process. I guess what I am trying to say is that unlike the other two places I called , ResumeYourWay clearly does not have an aggressive sales strategy. Communication with ResumeYourWay (RYW) is not the best. I ordered a resume & cover letter. I was not getting emails from the company & they explained that something is wrong on comcasts end because RYW consistently has difficulty with clients who have comcast.net email addresses. OK, so why not ask for an alternate email address if RYW knows this? The website says that your assigned resume writer ...will contact you to discuss your objectives over the phone. THIS DOES NOT OCCUR. I finally got my resume 6 days after ordering it (The website says, within 3 business days), and it has elements of sales in it when I have no sales experience, nor do I want to go into sales. I feel like had I had the phone discussion with the resume writer as promised, this would not have happened. After receiving my resume, I emailed the writer to ask questions in order to make revisions (also promised). It has been 7 days and Ive heard nothing back. In general, the resume they crafted for me is decent. However, I feel it could have been better had my writer called me to discuss my career goals (My background is in nursing, but Im looking for a career change, and Ive been out of the workforce for the past 20 years due to home-educating my children).
