My family has been going to Budget since we moved to Missouri. Ive gone back, even though I live an hour away, just because they do quality work and are very helpful. They helped my mother out so much after her accident, I know they took fantastic care of her. They have helped us find new cars by checking out the ones weve brought to them. They have fixed repairs that other shops said they did. They have saved us money where they could while not sacrificing quality work or parts. Can’t say enough nice things about this place, particularly Chad in the radiator shop. I play with classic International pickups, which parts are not readily-available for. Chad has fixed a couple of questionable radiators for me. I dropped one off on Monday, right after Chad was returning from vacation. Management let me know that he was very backed-up but asked when I needed it. I told them I’d like to have it by Thursday or Friday, but understood if that couldn’t be done. Management told me that they’d have it back to me by Thursday. Chad just called (Tuesday) and let me know my radiator was ready to pick up. Excellent people, and excellent service! After going through multiple shops in Springfield I’ve found budget to be the most friendly, reliable, and well priced shop in town. They’ve even gone as far as waking me through diag over the phone, and will answer my questions to the best of their knowledge.

Ive been a loyal customer to Budget Automotive and Radiator ever since I moved to Springfield about four years ago! I cannot recommend them enough. Tim and Paul take the time to explain everything theyre doing for you. They never push you for extra repairs, but will give you a heads-up if they notice anything that could cause you trouble later down the line.Several times Ive come in and when I picked up my car they would mention Your car needed [blank] and it was as easy as tightening a few screws or something similar and they took care of it free-of-charge.When my car was the victim of a hit-and-run accident two years ago. They carefully inspected everything and gently let me know what the damages were.Tim and Paul treat all of their younger clients like theyre children. I dont mean that in a they talk down to you kind-of-way. I mean they treat you like you are one of their own family members! Theyll give you tips and tricks for taking care of your car, driving in bad weather, and treat you with respect and care when they have to give you bad news about your car.If you go anywhere else, youre wasting your time. We have been there twice now for different work. Both times we were very happy & impressed with their professionalism & knowledge. Our last visit on 5/5 was distressing for me for different reasons. While waiting I noticed a sign they give out senior & other discounts. I looked @ the bill later that night & noticed they gave us the discount! I brought my 1994 Camry in to have a coolant leak checked out. For a very reasonable price (best in all of my calling around) tests were run to locate the problem including checking out whether the leak was coming from a blown head gasket. Thankfully the head gasket was fine. Main reason for my review is to point out how honest and fair this service is. Paul presented me with three options $,$$,$$$. For me and my situation the least expensive option ended up fixing the problem perfectly. I have not topped my fluid since and its been about 3 months. There are a lot of shops that will only present the middle, or most expensive options as the necessary solution. That doesnt make those shops necessarily dishonest, but I believe Paul and this shop illustrate the best of the best of ethics when it comes to repair shops, and thus have completely gained my trust and future business.

I was on a road trip and called Budget. The guy I talked to was so friendly, explained he couldnt see me until the next day but spent ten minutes explaining that he thought he knew what my problem was (a broken fuel pump check valve), offered a test to be sure, and explained I was fine to continue and fix when I got home.Wish these guys were back home, Id definitely be taking my car to them.

The owner is super friendly and spoke with me multiple times directly. He is very upfront on costs and even seeks to understand your individual budget to work within your means. They tackled a challenging cooling problem on a 1985 VW vanagon that I put a 2009 Subaru Impreza engine into. Every step of the way I was informed of what they were trying to resolve this intricate problem and how much it was expected to be. As this wasn’t a by the book problem I was quite pleased with their willingness to help me out. Only weeks later I drove this van to El Paso and back in less than a weeks time with not over heating issues. I’m very happy with the service and communication.

My car overheated and needed a new radiator, cooling fans, and thermostat. I took my car here after getting diagnostics/quote from another place. Budget Auto was able beat the first quote by over $800. The customer service was excellent and I really felt like they cared and wanted to do the best thing for my car. They gave me several progress updates while they were working on my car and were happy to explain what they were doing and why. They completed the repairs quickly.

I’m new in town and I needed assistance installing my front license plate. They were so helpful and they did it for free. They even put this thank you card in my car after finishing the work :)

I took my van to another shop and they were going to charge me 1200.00 for repairs on a 3k van. I was referred to Budget by a friend and they took the time to trace the problem and fixed it for less than 300.00. I cried when they told me! So happy with the repairs Budget did for me.

Very happy with the service I received from Budget Automotive & Radiator. They took the time to explain the problems with my car, gave options to solve them, and explained what repairs could wait and what repairs are critical. They use quality parts and not the cheap/junk that is available. The work to replace my radiator, water pump, thermostat, and flush my coolant system was very thorough. ‼️NOT HONEST‼️ Took my car in because it had overheated on me. Never been before because I’m a student and not from the area. They said they would do an inspection of the whole car for about $50 which was a much better price than others. Was told the next day my head gasket had blown and needed replaced which would be $1500-$3000. When I relayed this message to my father he said we wouldn’t fix my car because it wasn’t worth it and get a new one. So I picked it up the next day and was able to make it home that weekend. My dad decided to take the car into our mechanic at home that is very honest and worked on our cars several times. TURNS OUT MY HEAD GASKET WAS FINE! My radiator was what was leaking and was a ton cheaper to fix. He also noticed my break pads were totally shot and was surprised they were still working so whatever “full inspection” they told me they did, clearly wasn’t that great. Never going back.

Called Budget Automotive this morning after searching for a place to take my car for brake work not knowing exactly how simple or extensive the repairs might be. I didnt want to go to a big box store because they always seem very pushy. As a woman in my mid-20s Ive had other reputable local shops try to take advantage of me for repair work as they assume they can capitalize on my naivety. This shop was so accommodating and the people were very friendly! They called as soon as they were finished checking out my vehicle, were honest about what needed to be done and what looked fine, then presented me with a variety of cost options in terms of getting things fixed. The best part was picking up my car. When I walked in, I was greeted with Do you want the good news, or the good news? which is something you rarely hear for repair work! The shop came in $30 under their estimate and the mechanic who performed the service talked me through what he did and the condition everything was in before he made the repairs. Hands down the only place I will use moving forward for mechanical repair work! Thanks so much for a great experience-Ill recommend your shop to everyone. The kind of place a dad would insist his daughter take her vehicle.

Ive been using Budget Automotive for the last 10 years. They have done amazing service! I have taken my Toyota Sienna , Saturn and Mazda for service. I have had everything from air-conditioning to radiator work to oil changes repaired by their technicians.Even when my Mazda had to come back because the part failed on the A/C system I was not charged one cent for the labor they had to do again.Try and find that at another Auto Repair Shop. It will not happen.Paul and Wendy and staff run a wonderful business and are all about customer service and taking care of people. They let you know what is going on with your vehicle and how much its going to cost before they do any repairs. Upfront and honest service! I am a student at MSU. I came here to get my radiator flushed. While waiting for my car to cool down, they offered me a ride to class. They really go above and beyond.

I highly recommend Budget Automotive for any car repairs and diagnostics. I took my Ford Mustang GT to a local dealership for a recall. Needless to say, when working on it, it went into a fail-safe mode and couldnt be driven. After having no assistance whatsoever to fix it and the run around, I towed it to Budget Automotive. They ran diagnostics on it, made the repairs and I got it back in great condition. I felt very confident they would take good care of me. Great auto shop and honest feedback on any repairs that need to be done. Didn’t know what was causing my engine light to come on, so they tested everything, found the exact parts causing issues, even found another issue and fixed it for me. The price was right as well! When I am in Springfield, I will always come here.

Absolutely amazing!! Body shop closes at 6 pm, I called at 5:30 pm about getting the belt on my car replaced and they squeezed me in, even stayed late to replace the belt!! Front desk lady was so sweet. Definelty would recommend!!

Used disposable floor mats and left a thank-you note on my dash. This will be where I take my vehicle for repair and maintenance, henceforth.

Good service with reasonable prices

Yesterday was the first time coming to this mechanic and I was very happy with service. the waiting room was small and cozy, and they had free keurig! I had them do an oil change and an air filter replacement, and the oil change came with a 14 point inspection, and they even explained an issue with the window keys in the drivers side door (props to the mechanic for being patient with me, I dont know anything about cars) and the best part is, it was all under $50!! will definitely be coming back!

My son goes to college in Springfield and I live in Kansas City. I needed a place to fix his car and Brian and Tim who spoke with me answered all my questions and made me feel like I have known them for years. Very professional and will not sell you on anything that you dont need. They are honest and want to help not just make a dollar and even gave me a student discount for my son. Much respect to this shop and the people that work their. Take your car to a place that is honest, friendly, and cares for their customers.

They damaged my truck while doing repairs, when I brought it to their attention within an hour of picking it up they pretty much called me a liar. Just spent over $1500 on brake work for my inspection and a week later for a tune up and manifold gasket. They busted my dash, I just bought this truck and know my dash was in great shape, it was one of the things I made sure of when I bought it because dodge has issues with their dashes. The damage DID happen while in their possession and IS their responsibility to fix...Also, just so you know, I have used this shop for years and if they can do that to a customer that trusts them, then what experience might you have, think about it. I DO NOT recommend this place. Now they will get on here and squawk about how great they are, dont fall for it! youve been warned.

We are traveling across Route 66 with a military convoy and our 1952 Willys Jeep kept overheating. After going to two other radiator shops we stopped at Budget and the service there was amazing. They actually took the radiator apart and showed us that nothing had been done to clean it. They worked on it for several hours ( took it right in w/o an appointment) and put it back together so we could be on our way. These guys are very good at their job and could not have been nicer or more helpful.

These guys did a pre-buy diagnostic inspection for a used honda I was looking at. They were prompt and extremely friendly with service. Budget automotive has been my go to shop since moving to Springfield as graduate student. It can be difficult finding honest and timely work when you move to a new place and these guess are top notch. I met a local friend who works in a corporate automotive office in town and he recommended Budget Radiator. I highly recommend this crew for all your car and truck needs.

I highly recommend this business to anyone with transmission troubles. After receiving several opposing diagnoses for my transmission issues, Paul and Tim set the record straight, gave me my options, got right to work (up to and after closing time) trying to fix my problems, and gave me strict instructions to report back with an update on how my car was doing. This family-owned business made me feel like a part of their family. Unlike the big chains, they are in no way in this business for the money. After doing what they could to salvage the mistaken reports I had previously received, they sent me home without charging a dime. Paul’s reasoning for this was that they were just “people helping people.” I am beyond thankful to the entire team!

I saw a lot of bad reviews on this place on google, but my experience was amazing. I called ahead and told them the situation, I had popped a few rows on my radiator and was really upset because there were no used ones in junkyard, and a new is 400 dollars for a new on, online. Anyway, he says he can fix it no problem for 45 to 50 dollars. I get there at 5:40, and Chad fixes it in 15 mins and I was only charged $40 and it held just fine. I highly recommend this place for radiator repair, cant speak for automotive repairs. Update their repair started to leak a little.

I highly recommend this place! We lost our whole tire right in front of their shop and they came right over and offered their help! Even though they were completely booked for the day they did not hesistate to help us to get back on the road. Our vehicle had to be fixed being that we live nearly 2 hours away from Springfield, they gave us a price that couldnt be beat by any other shop. We are very grateful for their lending hand! Amazing team that works here, especially Luke, one of the mechanics . We live in Branson, and we needed an inspection, but we were already in Springfield, so we stopped here. Sadly, we failed, but they decided to go ahead and look at what needs fixed. Six months ago, we were told the blinker issue was a $1,200 fix to replace the entire headlight assembly. Budget Automotive & Radiator is fixing it for $50, because they found out the REAL issue is a spliced wire. Honest mechanics that actually know how to work on cars. We’ll be taking the hour trip to Springfield to bring our cars here more often.

Communication is a huge problem here. My car has been there on different occasions. One time it sat for nearly a week because no one ordered parts. Another time resulted in new things that needed to be fixed after the mechanics test drive. For as much money as I have spent here, I had higher hopes. Car is still not done (at my house now). I asked for an estimate over two weeks ago. Still have not received a call back. Must be nice to be that busy, or at least not need the money. But at least call and say so.

Called to schedule some work done on my diesel truck. Turns out they werent able to help my particular situation but they were straight up about it and didnt try to work on something they werent familiar with. Communication was excellent. I would definitely bring my other vehicles in to have them work on them.

One thing my dad always said to beware of are attorneys and auto mechanics. (near as I can remember) So when it became obvious that my heater in my car wasnt gona blow hot air despite my willingness for it to, I began to search for a shop to help remedy this problem.Completing my review of different shops based on social media I found budget automotive. The reviews from other customers were real good, also this place had been there a good long time I remember seeing this company many years ago. So I thought thats good lets check em out. I was greeted in a very friendly way by the owners wife, and even more warmly by the owner himself. It was like we had known each other for years. However what about the service? After recommending a diagnosis for a small fee (eyeroll) I was surprised that it was a real diagnostic, not just a ploy to bait you in and then empty your pockets like so many shops do. Long story short, I was very pleased with the result, price and experience. I got just what I wanted. I now have used budget automotive several times for different heating or cooling issues with my car and the result is ALWAYS the same. Great people who run it and great job done, at a price that allows you to eat the rest of the week. I am not only a customer but a real FAN!! THANK YOU GUYS for all you do, rare when its about a customers satisfaction and not there money.

Unfortunately, 0 stars isnt an option. If you want to waste your time and money, then take your vehicle here. If youre smart, take it ANYWHERE else. Budget had our truck for 8 weeks (not an exaggeration) and when we FINALLY got it back, it wasnt fixed. They drained our entire warranty and made us pay over $900 out of pocket for parts that DIDNT FIX THE TRUCK. Its actually almost worse than it was before we took it in. OH, and did we mention they had it for 8 WEEKS? For your own sanity, dont even contemplate using this place.
