I would not recommend to anyone to rent any property through Turnkey management/Blue Block Lofts. After living at the Wilhoit Plaza lofts for roughly 2.5 years, we experienced countless issues with their management and maintenance of the property. To start, we often had to have maintenance return to either finish or fix any maintenance requests we put in, if they bothered to actually address them. Perhaps the biggest issue with this property was the alarming amount of water issues and damage they failed to properly address. For months we had water coming through the ceiling in our bathroom before they found the issue. This led to mold growing in several places, and parts of our ceiling falling in. We had to email them countless times to address the problem, and after 6 months of experiencing the leaking, they sent us an email essentially saying we needed to move into a more expensive unit or leave. We of course explained to them that would not be happening and they quickly backtracked once we resisted. After this, they finally found the source of the problem, but of course never repaired the damage (pics below). We lived with this damage until we moved out. We also experienced a recurring issue with water damage below the window in our unit, and issues with our shared patio not being properly sealed and therefor leaking into the businesses below our loft. The building itself is pretty neat and has some charm to it, but it is a shame how poorly it is managed and how blatantly they ignore any requests by tenants for any maintenance issues. It is an older building and obviously needs extra care. During the school year the building can be VERY loud. The walls are pretty thin and I was often woken up at 3am by parties in the hallway or the heavy exterior doors slamming. The shared laundry space was often pretty dirty and the machines often did not work. When we moved in our unit wasn’t the cleanest, (I found a toothbrush, condoms, a broken glass pipe, an old pizza box and cigarettes in the water heater closet). A pest control company comes and sprays every unit every month so we never experienced any bug issues, though they would spray pesticide all over our things. There were also some instances where the exterior key fob locks would not work. Several times while living here the security system would be triggered and would beep non-stop, often for several days at a time if it happened during the weekend. In summation, be wary renting from this company, and if you do, know your renter’s rights and be prepared to have to fight to have a livable unit.

I put in an application for a 3 bedroom loft at their founders park property. The property manager showed me the unit, and I told her I was interested in the place, but I asked if they had any other units to look at. She said she had one and would send pictures and I would have to let her know the following week if I wanted to see it. The next week, I emailed her to ask how long they were going to take to process my application. She said a few days to a week. Another week goes by, and I email her about my application again and she says they didnt even process it and that the unit I was looking at was now rented. She says she was waiting for me to go look at this other unit before processing my application. Why? I put my application in online for the 3 bedroom loft, I never said dont process my application for that, I was just curious what else they had available.Ya know, cuz thats what you do when youre looking for a house. So I tell her instead I would like a refund of my application fee, and she says they might not be able to do that if they already started processing my app. But she had just told me THEY DIDNT PROCESS MY APPLICATION.I had to be pretty firm that I needed that fee back and she did return it.All in all, this was extremely unprofessional. I understand miscommunications happen and folks get busy, but you should notify someone if youre going to wait to process their application. Its frustrating that I missed out on renting that home because of one persons inability to communicate.I suggest you guys find someone who has the professional skills to do their job properly.

This was our first experience living on our own and I can honestly say it felt like the Blue Block Loft management team went go out of their way to make it the hardest living situation possible. Need repairs? Good luck. Hot water? Rarely. Answers important calls? Never. Vandalism in parking lot without any repercussion or communication to victims? Yes!! Every wall is paper thin and the buildings lobby/common space is not kept clean or nice. Paint marks all over the place and run down stairwells. I am impressed at how horrible the management is in this complex. I would recommend this living situation to absolutely nobody. Not a single person. The inside of the loft itself was quite interesting however. I loved the industrial modern look. Only reason this post has more than zero stars.

We had a fantastic experience living at 623 Condos. The management was helpful, and maintenance always responded super quickly. We rarely had issues with noisy neighbors, either. The building and parking security is great too.

Terrible place, dont waste your time and money. First off, there are homeless people outside tripping on drugs constantly. Walls are paper thin so you hear everything your neighbor says or does, as well as the homeless people screaming outside. Windows are single pane and extremely inefficient, causing absurd utility bills. Dust/stone from the ceiling/bricks falls onto everything in the apartment literally non-stop, leaving you with a constant coating on everything you own. They dont control the office on the first floor at all and I had to fight for a parking spot every time I came home due to a political campaign being there, holding meetings for the public and letting visitors park in the private lot. Last but not least, theyll screw you on your deposit for that same dust and cleaning charges at a ridiculous hourly rate. There are much better options in Springfield for the money that are much nicer and cleaner and in better locations.

Terrible absolutely terrible. They lied to me and my roommates on multiple occasions and dont bother calling if you need something done you better go there in person otherwise your name and number will just sit on there desk and they will never contact you back. They will take your money and then deny your application and keep the money because of no refunds, worst place Ive ever dealt with and will never go back. Stick with a trustworthy realty place like At Home Realty who makes sure you are being screwed and properties are a lot nicer.

These lofts are awesome! They are close to everything downtown and seem very private! I also love the management team, they are really great!

Wilhoit Plaza only cares about nickel and diming you for everything they possibly can, they are anti-consumer and dont care about local businesses.
