Teps hosted our wedding reception in the middle of July 2021. What a great experience! The food was bountiful and delicious. Leading up to the day, Dan had been having staffing issues, but we couldnt have been more impressed by his staff; they were incredibly.

Went here after a recommendation from a valet from a local place that was packed and we didnt feel like waiting for over an hour to just get seated. Prices were fairly cheap but the food was amazing, like really good and the service was awesome as well. It was my birthday and they gave me a slice of cheesecake which was surprisingly creamy and tasty.I got the shrimp fettuccine alfredo and was genuinely impressed. Got a bottle of red wine for 20$ as well.Check pictures. Saving this for the next time in in tahoe. Hopefully then mask requirements and outdoor seating wont be mandated as that was a bit sad but everywhere is having to deal with that.

In Spring 2020 I reached out to Dan to see about making a reservation for our rehearsal lunch as our wedding was scheduled for October 2020. Being that we weren’t sure if the Pandemic would be over by then, Dan did not want to charge us a deposit fee, but just penciled us on for the event. Late Summer 2020 it was determined that we would be able to push our wedding to May 2021, I was told by Dan that he still didn’t want to charge us a deposit for the rehearsal because he didn’t know if he could host the event due to the Covid restrictions, but he would pencil us in for our rehearsal lunch scheduled for Friday May 14, 2021. He suggested coming in or circling back to him as we got closer to the date. On March 28, 2021, my husband and I went into Tep’s Villa Roma and met with Dan face to face. He had a clip board with notes from our past conversations. Dan showed up the banquet room where the rehearsal would take place, we went over menu options and bar options. Dan explained that they had not hosted an even in the banquet hall since February 2020, and that he was glad that we were still moving forward with having our rehearsal lunch at the restaurant. We signed a contract and paid the $500 deposit for the event.So many small businesses struggled to stay afloat during the last year and a half, so my husband and I were more than happy to support a local favorite Italian restaurant while celebrating out wedding in South Lake Tahoe. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. Dan never called me the week leading up to the event. The day of the rehearsal a couple of our bridesmaids went to the restaurant to set up a photo backdrop and were told that we didn’t have a reservation, we didn’t sign a contract and we didn’t pay the deposit. I called Dan, he acted as if I was crazy. He said that he doesn’t know why I think we are having an event at the restaurant when we never paid a deposit. I had the actual receipt in my wedding paperwork that proved his statement was false. He told me that he didn’t have any of our information on hand. And that at that point he wouldn’t even be able to accommodate our party, at the scheduled start time of 1:30 pm (it was 12:55 pm when I was speaking to him). He also told me IF I could prove that we paid a deposit he may be able to give us our money back. He said that he called me several times in the week leading up to the event and left messages for me and that I never called him back. My phone records proved that was false as well.To say we were upset would be an understatement. The rehearsal was set to start in 30 minutes and we had about 35 hungry people that we needed to host. My husband went straight to the restaurant to get our deposit back; Dan came walking out with the clipboard that had our menu, signed contract, and deposit receipt. He said he didn’t know what went wrong. And couldn’t give us a cash refund because he didn’t have enough on hand. He credited our card back the deposit, which everyone knows the funds are not available right away. NO ONE was at the restaurant, it was empty.Luckily, The Brewery at South Lake Tahoe was able to accommodate us at 2:00 pm. Once I explained what was going on, they were more than happy to close off their entire dining room to us. In the end, as our family (around 55 people) came in from out of town they were able to join us for lunch. The food and service were exceptional, which is more than I can say for Tep’s Villa Roma.

Went here a few weeks ago while I was I tahoe. The staff is so incredibly sweet and the good is AMAZING! Sad to hear they were closed and only open two days a week.

Absolutely wonderful restaurant! Maybe the best Italian restaurant in South Lake Tahoe. My family loved the food, I got the Chicken Parmesan and really liked it.

They are not quite half full but say they are booked for the night. 3 employees just standing around. Tried calling in an order to go also, was told they had a full house and were not doing to go orders, but you can try again tomorrow accept were closed Mondays. The one star is only because I couldnt give a zero. Well spend our hard earned cash elsewhere...everytime!

Great little Italian place, very friendly staff and our server was excellent! Fried calamari and garlic bread was outstanding and everyone in our group enjoyed their food. The only downside was that I opted for the meat combo pizza and it was not very good, tasted like a frozen pizza but other than that everything else was great!

Had family dinner there while in town. Service was very good and the food too. All of our dishes seemed to be freshly made. Stuffed mushrooms were not overflowing with bread stuffing like at some other places. Freshly baked bread was gone quickly :). Tiramisu was delicious as well. Would recommend and go again.

Absolutely loved it. We ordered the pizza and the crust was tangy and had a citrus zing that made had my mouth wanting for more. By far my favorite pizza Ive had. The Fleshly Squeezed IPA nailed the finish. I would highly recommend this pair. I dont want to leave Tahoe now😊👍💗

Very nice spot to have a wonderful meal at. We stopped in here on our way into the area and had a nice visit. Friendly staff, nice selection and good food.

My new husband and I came up here for our honeymoon. We decided to try this place out and we’re sorrily disappointed. I got the chicken Marsala and it was flat out cold. You could tell the mushrooms were from a can and precooked this morning. There are no words to describe the spaghetti. It was clearly from a jar and old. My husband got the lasagna and that was cold and flavorless as well. No bread came with the meal. The service was not good at all. Thank McDonalds for providing us a way better meal. I would say NEGATIVE stars.

Best Italian food in tahoe! We have been coming here for years and everything is always good and waiters have always been friendly. We had our rehearsal dinner at teps and it was awesome! Dan and his employees are so nice and made everything great! I definitely recommend going here, hopefully he can find more employees with all the craziness going on. We will be patiently waiting for the salad bar to come back and parmasan breadsticks😊

We stopped here on our first night in Tahoe and the food was excellent! We had to come back before our trip was over! We were not disappointed! Excellent food and service. We will definitely stop here when back in Tahoe!

Delicious and well prepared food. They treat you a salad bar and soup together your dinner. We had tried daily fish option and lasagna, we loved everything.

Weve been coming to teps for many years. Sadly, covid seems to have kicked them pretty hard. The food was mediocre, and their famous salad bar is a thing of the past.This makes me sad, because teps has been a tradition with us for our twice annual Tahoe trip for many years.I hope they get it together soon.

We had eaten at Teps on our previous trips and were so looking forward to dining here again. Arrived to find a sign posted that it was temporarily closed because they couldnt staff the restaurant .What a shame and disappointment !

Is it possible for zero stars!? This place is atrocious! Meatballs taste like straight from a canned sauce with old salty meat and the marsala was a joke. Burnt chicken, burnt sauce, over cooked pasta, it’s seriously terrible. Worst Italian food I’ve ever eaten and that’s not even an overstatement. It’s gross, go somewhere else, port a subs next door is 1000% a better idea. Ugh gross. Cant even think about the food or my belly hurts. Stay clear!

Pasta was okay, nothing to brag about but definitely far from bad.What really disappointed me is that the hot chocolate i ordered was water and powder like maybe it was from a keurig cup except it was 10 times watered down from even that. I would be extremely embarrassed to serve anything even close to being this low effort, i would go for anywhere else but here after this experience.

Food was small portions and expensive couldnt order extra garlic bread and couldnt get strawberry sauce for cheesecake also kids menu was 3 pieces of ravioli, we decided not to tip after not being able to order what we wanted and everyting else being so expensive we spent 100$ and the waitress flags us down and yells at us for not tipping her calling us names we will never be back.

Dont be put off by the Astroturf and the dated exterior; the kitchen does good work! We are not familiar with South Lake Tahoe, and stopped here at random when we found ourselves hungry after a walk by the lake. I particularly liked the refreshing take on coleslaw that accompanied my meal. All ingredients were fresh and clearly prepared with care, and we all left impressed. You could do far worse!

Fabiola was awesome! And the food was absolutely wonderful! The tiramisu amazing!! Will definitely be coming back.

Ive lived in Tahoe for 25 years and I had never tried the place until it popped up on doordash recently. This spot is super bomb. The Lasagna is some hand made deliciousness and comes in a huge portion. The Meatballs are superb. The tomato sauce is amazing. I accidentally ordered dessert somehow and the Tiramisu was lovely. Id never had Tiramisu. Good Job Teps. 👏

Just had a delicious lunch at Tep’s on their open air patio seating. Amidst covid, we were looking for an outdoor dining spot with appropriate distancing to feel comfortable. Tep’s has a large patio, with plenty of space between tables + umbrellas for each table. Staff were all wearing masks and super nice/accommodating. Really enjoyed the food and finally felt comfortable dining out. Will return!

Theres a puffer fish when u walk in that will greet u !!! He is smiling. The staff are awesome and the food magnificent. I got a pic of him. Will post later, or just go look.

Pretty legit and affordable. Salads arent their strong suit. But the outdoor seating is super nice for lunch. Great Vegetarian special.

Went here as the Italian place I have been wanting to try was closed. Im so glad I came across this place, loved the food. The service was great, we came when they was switching from lunch to dinner and we was not lost in the switch. Plan on going there next time Im in town.

This is our favorite place to eat when we are in tahoe. I was planning a reception for my wedding but given covid restrictions we ended up eloping but still went there with my family. The manager even let us set up a table inside for the wedding cake and we were able to do my father/daughter dance and my first dance with songs they were already playing.They for sure pitched in for my special day to be even better! I recommend this place to everyone!

Great outdoor seating. Had delicious angel hair pasta with shrimp and fettuccine sauce. Awesome!

Italian food is just ok, you definitely can do better. We had pasta with pesto and it had way to much cream and not enough pesto. 😑The Antipasti salad was lettuce with a few pieces of meat and way to many olives.Oh well should have paid more attention to the reviews.

No more Salad bar. Everything is A la cart. Just for 8 small pieces of bread for the table was $6. Don’t recommend anymore.

My family have enjoyed Teps 40 years now. Great atmosphere, service and food. Families love the Italian antipasto salad bar. My favorite is the Chicken Puccini. My wife loves the zucchini noodles. Seriously, have a glass of Chianti by Teps fireplace and enjoy.

Me and my wife really enjoyed the food and atmosphere here. The staff are obviously close knit and take spectacular care of their guests. The food was delicious and made to order. The drinks were also a pleasure. Highly recommend.

Short staffed but still a gem.

Second time weve been to Teps and this time was the best. Masks required to get in. Tables set up with appropriate distancing. The food is delicious and reminds me of the Italian I grew up with. Meatballs are delicious. Sausage is delicious. The pizza ate other tables looked thin and crispy. Almost with we had ordered it as an appetizer.If you are looking for a nice Italian dinner as a couple or with a large group I would recommend Teps.

We had our wedding reception here and we absolutely do not regret choosing Teps to host it. The venue might not seem like much on the outside when you think about wedding, but the event space was exceptionally beautiful, had a great dance floor, and was spacious enough for our 140-150 guest list. The owners were friendly and easy to work with in the months leading up to the big day. We mostly communicated with Dan who was helpful with our questions and requests. He was also present the day of to oversee the event. The food was amazing and we got so many compliments about it afterwards. The cooks, bartenders and staff were so friendly and attentive. And we HIGHLY recommend using their DJ, Chris. Dont even bother trying to find an outside DJ seriously. He truly made the event so much fun and memorable. He was always checking in with us to make sure the day went by smoothly. Everything was truly perfect with Teps! We would highly recommend working with them for your next event/wedding!

Celebrated my sons birthday here. Food was great. Wine was fine. Had fun with family. Servers were friendly. Great environment to dine in. Great mountain views and near the lake. Five bright stars.

My husband and I are here on our honeymoon and just had dinner at Tep’s tonight! Our server Connie was so sweet and on her game! Atmosphere is very homey and cute. All staff were attentive and sincere. We were immediately greeted by an older nice gentleman who sat us. Salad bar was good and soup was awesome! Highly highly recommend for any crowd. Fairly priced as well. Big pasta portions!! :)

Sixth time at South Lake Tahoe but first time here. You can get a nice dinner with access to the salad bar, soup and bread. Our waitress did a great job taking care of us. My wife and son enjoyed their lasagna and I enjoyed my spaghetti with olive oil, garlic and anchovies. We were not able to finish our dinners. You will walk out pleasantly satisfied.

Pizza and Minestrone soup are ok.Pesto sauce is basically cream with a bit of pesto, really did not like it. Ante paste salad was also a big disappointment.

Thoroughly enjoyed this spot! The food was hot, fresh, & served timely. Our server was wonderful and took excellent care of us. Not sure why the reviews posted something negative about the ambiance unless they had some strange expectations. It is just like any other nice Italian food restaurant that isn’t a chain. If you want to eat somewhere because of it’s amount of natural light, go eat your bologna sandwich on a picnic table somewhere. My husband and I found it to be pleasant and wonderful food. I highly recommend. It’s our first time to the area and eating here.

Wow! Excellent food and service!! Food was incredible- very fresh and amazing flavor. We had the Teps combo and the chicken piccata. Hands down the best chicken piccata Ive ever eaten. Marinara sauce is clearly handmade and was fabulous too.

Very friendly staff, generous sized delicious food. Ambience was nice and inviting and we were seated next to the fireplace. Salad bar was delicious, only small drawback was no veggie pasta salad options on the bar, but they did have seafood salad and plenty pasta options on the menu. Salad bar also comes with minestrone soup. Affordable as well. We loved it and will be back!

Oh wow, Ill be craving their Chicken Marsala from now on but wont be here to enjoy beings as I live in Denver! I was hooked from the 1st bite. And I loved the salad bar. I love love love salad bars and you just dont find them in many restaurants anymore. Italian restaurants seem to carry on the theme and Im thankful for you! Great salad bar, great food, great service, and a friendly clientele. A must come to when youre in South Lake Tahoe!

I liked the food and the view outside, but taking one star off because they messed up the checks. Usually I trust people, but the total amount was too big for our meals. Be careful and check your receipts.

We had our wedding reception in the banquet room next to the restaurant and everything was perfect! The food was delicious, the room was gorgeous and spacious, and Dan was really easy to work with. I think we even came in under budget! Theres not a venue like it on the south shore, I highly recommend it for any large party you may be planning. You cant beat the location and it feels great supporting a local, family owned restaurant.

We have eaten here for many years, had our wedding reception here, and have returned for an anniversary dinner most years and will be back in 2020. Anyone from the SF Eastbay area who remembers Bancheros should enjoy this restaraunt. In our opinion the food is better than Bancheros.

I was here yesterday and first I do have to say the food is awesome! Probably the best Italian food in this area by far! I would of gave it 5 stars but could only give it 3 stars due to their customer service! We were greeted by a male host with gray hair and beard who was going to seat us, I saw the table where we usually have sit at, I did a quick glance and thought there was no one there, so I asked the host if we could sit there and he replied absolutely not! In a way I was taken aback by, like how dare I ask knowing people are seated there, which I would of not asked if I had known that, the people were at the salad bar, but to be rude like that, I seriously almost walked out, but decided to let it go, these businesses need to know if their employees are treating customers like this, no need to be rude, maybe if it was another customer, they WOULD of walked out, then the business will be losing money. Need to retrain their employees customer service skills for sure.

I go to this great spot quite often! This is the best place to pass a nice evening. I visit this spot frequently. The meals are fantastic, the crew is courteous and the prices are reasonable. I like eating in this restaurant to have a rich lunch.

Wonderful authentic Italian food! We faithfully stop in here when we are in South Tahoe. Huge portions, one meal is actually large enough for 2 or 3 meals. Salad bar & soup are included with most meals. Two different chef specials are offered daily along with the regular menu, which hasnt changed in eons (why change a good thing?). Family friendly, casual dining, and homemade flavored Italian food - its worth trying (I believe they are only open for dinner).

The service was really great and great food was served with not a lot of waiting time.👌😀
